Services for Sarah Nell White, 87, of Durant, who passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at her residence, will be 2 p.m., Saturday at the Northwest Church of Christ in Durant. Andy Burns will officiate.
Family hour will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, at the funeral home.
Interment will be 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 25 at Little Cemetery in Little.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral Service.
Sarah was born March 11, 1919 in Madill to Lucius and Juanita (Hearn) Rogers. She attended school in Bowlegs.
On July 2, 1937, she married Houston Lee White in Holdenville. Sarah enjoyed crafts of all kinds and going to garage sales. She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Houston White; parents, Lucius and Juanita Rogers; daughter, Patricia Jo Johnson; brothers, Edward Rogers, Terrell Rogers, and Lucius Rogers, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Frances White; and granddaughter, Latisha White.
Survivors include, daughter, LaNita Day and husband Vernon of Wellington, Texas; son, Foy White of Durant; daughter, Sue Owens and husband Bill of Sapulpa; daughter, Mona Ingram and husband Tom of Vancouver, Wash.; sister, Keturah Brown of Stroud; sister, Sydney Nicholson of Amarillo, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Day, Tony Day, Tracy Day, Terry Day, Larry Johnson Jr., Scott Owens, Erik Ingram, and Karl White.
Doretha Winrow
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Doretha Vivian Winrow are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church.
Rev. Larry Crawford is to officiate with interment to be at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Winrow, 79, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She was born May 17, 1926 in Seminole to Edmond and Viola (Jackson) Wright.
She was first married to Andrew Foxx and then later married Roy Winrow. She was a cook at Seminole State College from 1973 – 1991, as well as having worked at Pat’s Café, the Bus Station, and other popular eating-places in the Seminole area.
Winrow was a member of the Galilee Temple of Praise and Deliverance, a Sunday school teacher and member of the Women’s Missionary Society.
Her parents; two sons, Stanley Edmonds and Edward Foxx; three grandsons, Kenneth Webb, Desmone Gaines and Terry Winrow and half-sister Alma Marie Wright preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Roy Winrow of the home; four sons, Robert Lee Foxx, Nathaniel Winrow, Roy Winrow, Jr., all of Seminole and Randy Winrow of Shawnee; six daughters, Ollie Webb of Hesperia, Calif., Rozetta "Dee" Winrow of Seminole, Loretta Young of Longbeach, Calif., Ginger Kaye Winrow of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Winrow of Shawnee and Vanessa Washington of Tecumseh.
In addition, she has five stepchildren, Ronnie Clay Talton and Jeff Jefferson, both of Shawnee, Dorothy Jackson of Earlsboro, David Winrow of Oahu, Hawaii and Kovetta Winrow of Denver, Co.; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Leo Wise
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Leo Wise are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Hillabee Indian Church with burial to follow in Hanna.
A wake service is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the church with arrangements under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home, Okemah.
Wise died Monday, July 17, 2006 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born April 4, 1950 in Wichita, Kan. to Walter Wise, Sr. and Pauline Maggie.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War Era, in which he received the Purple Heart.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Sallie, of the Hanna home; six sisters, Maxine Clifford of Manderson, S.D., Constance Thlocco of Liberty, Mo., Sheila Hooper of Maud, Linda Wise of Konawa, Pauline Smith of Tulsa and Mary Jo Barnett of Holdenville; four brothers, John McCartlin of Shawnee, Walter Wise, Jr., Vincent Wise and Kenny Wise, all of Konawa and stepmother, Juanita Wise of Seminole.
Walter Wise
Funeral services for Seminole County resident Walter Wise are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church with Rev. George Harjochee and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.
Interment is to follow at Douglas Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wake services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel. The body will be taken to Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Monday.
Wise, 88, died Friday, July 7, 2006 in Seminole. He was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Konawa to Jennie Powell.
He attended Mekusukey School and later worked as a pipeliner.
Wise married Juanita Little at cedar Creek Eufaula Church. He became an ordained deacon at Cedar Creek Baptist in 1998.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the Seminole home; nine children, Maxine Clifford of S.D., Leo Wise of Hanna, Constance Jo Thlocco of Liberty, Mo., Sheila Hooper of Maud, Linda Wise of Konawa, Walter Wise Jr. of Konawa, Mary Jo Barnett of Holdenville, Vincent Wise of Konawa and Kenny Wise of Konawa; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition, is his sister, Agnes West of Konawa; brother, A.B. Douglas of Sasakwa and stepchildren, Buddy Keith Harjo, Steve Harjo and Amy Fixico, all of Seminole, Ronnie Harjo of Oklahoma City, Howard Harjo of Sapulpa and Rowena Gonzales of Tulsa.
Betty Withers
Funeral services for longtime Seminole area resident Betty J. Withers are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Bowlegs with Rev. Rick Harrison to officiate.
Interment is to follow at Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Withers, 61, of Bowlegs, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2005 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 24, 1944 in Holdenville to Woodrow and Lorene Stringfellow.
She married Bob Withers on Aug. 16, 1966 in Wewoka and was a homemaker.
Her mother, brother Roy Glen Stringfellow (March 22, 1948) preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband Bob Withers of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Withers of Wewoka; stepmother and father, Betty Jo and Woodrow Stringfellow of Holdenville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Walter Freeman of Casa Grande, Ariz., Carolyn and Raymond Withers of Ramona and Wanda and Don Wakeley of Spaulding; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Shelly Stringfellow of Oklahoma City and Junior and Wendy Stringfellow of Holdenville and one grandchild, Nicole Withers of Wewoka.
Pallbearers for the services will be Richard Kelps, Ryan Kiesel, Clint Yancey, Jacob Dixon, Dean Debtor and Clay Anderson.
Windy Wofford
ALLEN - Services for Winfred Earl "Windy" Wofford, 62, Allen, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Gene Sluder officiating.
Burial follows at Lula Cemetery. Friends may call at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Allen from 4 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday.
Wofford died on Monday, May 22, 2006, at an Allen Nursing Home. He was born March 19, 1944, at Lula to William Earl and Jaunita Williams Wofford.
He attended school at Lula and Allen and served in the National Guard, and was employed as a supervisor for Cementing Trucks with Halliburton in the Seminole area.
He lived in Seminole from 1967 - 1979. He was affiliated with Blackjack Baptist Church near Atoka.
Wofford married Sandra Luna, and then later married Anna Devoy Morton.
Survivors include his wife Anna, of the home; mother, Jaunita Wofford, Lula-Atoka; two sons, Ross Wofford, Fairfax, Okla., and Shawn Wofford, Allen; one sister, Billie Russell, Atoka; three brothers, Harold "Dink" Wofford, Allen, Gary Wofford, Lula and Roy Wofford, McAlester; and four grandchildren.
His grandson, Trey Wofford preceded him in death.
Bearers are Danny McDougal, Benny Prentice, Tubby Watson, Charles Cannon, Gary Cooper and Bill Sluder. Honorary bearers are Lewis Woodell, Jerry Jones, W. B. Borders, Arnold Phillips and Bud Yount.
Donald Wolf
Graveside services for Konawa native Donald Ray Wolf were held today at 11 a.m. at the Wolf Family Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Wolf, 54, died Thursday, march 16, 2006 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He was born June 15, 1951 in Konawa to Amos and Hattie (Harjo) Wolf.
He married Patsy Cole on Feb. 21, 1970 in Del City and has been a resident of Little Rock, Ark. since 1988.
Wolf worked in the oil field and construction field as an ironworker and enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and raising fighting chickens.
His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife Patsy of the home; one daughter, Cheryl Jo Stokes of Little Rock, Ark. and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services were Phillip Crane, Travis Honsinger, Robert Honsinger, Stan Honsinger, Lawrence "Fuzz" Wolf and Leonard "Red" Wolf.
Lori (McCraw) Wolf
Funeral services for Konawa resident Lori Kathleen "Kathy" (McCraw) Wolf are set for Saturday, July 15, 2006, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa.
Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, with Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B., officiating.
Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Konawa.
Wolf died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, at the age of 49.
She was born Dec. 15, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Emmit H. McCraw and Zelma (Honsinger) McCraw.
Wolf worked in home health care, food service, and was a loving homemaker.
She lived in Hayward, Calif., and moved to Konawa two years ago.
She was a member of Sacred Hearth Catholic Church in Konawa.
Wolf was preceded in death by a brother, Doug McCraw.
She is survived by her mother, Zelma McCraw, of Konawa; her father and step-mother, Emmit and Judy McCraw of Konawa; one daughter, Chasa Graves of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, Bruce McCraw, of Konawa; a sister, Vickey McCraw Harjo, of Santa Fe, Texas; and three grandchildren, Calen and Chelsea Morrell and Garren Graves.
Brett Wolfe
Funeral services for Seminole resident Brett Booket Wolfe are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Factor and Ellis Gregg officiating.
Interment is to follow at the Douglas Family Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Wolfe. 25, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 in Seminole. He was born April 14, 1981 in Ada to William Edward and Vickie (Douglas) Wolfe.
Brett attended Pleasant Grove Elementary and then went on to Maud Schools. He graduated from Maud High School in 1999.
He was employed as a surveying technician at Marshall Surveying Company in Seminole.
Brett was a loving, kind person who loved his family very much. He loved fishing and many types of sports.
Surviving are his grandparents who raised him, Booket and Erma Douglas of Seminole; mother, Vickie Wolfe of Seminole; father, William Wolfe of Eufaula; one son, Isaiah Jaxson Wolfe of Ada; two brothers, William Edward Wolfe Jr. and wife Tara of Lawton and Brandon Scott Wolfe and wife Jamie of Missouri; one sister, Natasha Lynn Wolfe and husband Matt of Midwest City and aunts and uncles, Francine and Thomas Ewy of Cortez, Colo., Jerry and Terry Atkinson of Seminole and Sharon and Hack Streater of Seminole.
In addition, cousins, Megan Ewy, Danielle and Damon Atkinson and Todd and Madison Streater; nieces and nephews, Liberty and Justice Wolfe, Jacobi Wolfe, Brandon Scott Wolfe Jr., Hayliegh Brooke Wolfe and Landan Matthew Wolfe and a host of other relatives and friends also survive him.
