Mildred Chandler

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Mildred Lucille Chandler are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.

Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Services are under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.

Chandler, 87, of Oklahoma City, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007. She was born Aug. 11, 1920 in Valdosta, Ga., to William Albert Maxey and Willie Mae (Brice) Chandler.

She lived in Seminole County along with her family during her children’s early years. Her husband, Wayne C. Chandler, taught school in the area.

Chandler was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Society, the Douglass Alumni Association in Wewoka, and the Langston University Alumni Association.

She received her Master’s degree at Central State University (known today as the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond).

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband of the home; sons, Wayne C. Chandler, Jr. and Albert Morris Chandler of Oklahoma City; daughter, Cheryl K. Chandler of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Lois Sheppard of Berkley, Calif., Bernice Maxey of Los Angeles, Calif., Fannie Hansberry of Ellicott City, Md., and Betty Dickerson of Roslyn Harbor, N.Y.; brothers, Gerald "Butch: Maxey and William "Pat" Maxey of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Alvin Chesser

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Alvin W. "A.W. Jack" Chesser were held today at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of Christ at Little with Rusty Dawson officiating.

Interment followed at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Chesser, 88, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 in Shawnee. He was born on July 28, 1918 in Seminole County to Homer Earl Chesser and Effie (Castor) Chesser.

He married Reba Erselle Downs on Oct. 19, 1938 in Red Mound, Okla., and she preceded him in death on July 16, 1995.

Chesser had worked for Phillips Petroleum in Shidler, Okla., as a unit foreman until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement he returned to his home in Seminole County.

He then married Kathryn Patricia Ryon on Dec. 30, 1995 in Seminole County.

Chesser is a member of the Church of Christ at Little.

Surviving is his wife of the home; four sons, keith Chesser of Shidler, Jim Chesser of Chouteau, Tom Chesser of Holdenville and Don Chesser of Holdenville; one daughter, Carole Lichti of Huntsville, Ark.; one brother, Dempsey Chesser of Seminole; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Casket bearers for the services were Keith Chesser, Jim Chesser, Tom Chesser, Don Chesser, Jimmy Chesser and Bryon Chesser.

J.O. Chilcoat

Graveside services for Seminole native J.O. Chilcoat are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery with Lloyd Friggle officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Chilcoat, 72, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at his home in Harrah. He was born in Seminole on Jan. 29, 1935 to Ocie Lee and Grave Irene (Isbell) Chilcoat.

On Nov. 9, 1957 he married Bettie Lou Brasher in Ada and has worked for Atlantic Richfield for many years as a meter chart technician before retiring in 1985.

He served in the United States Army as a Private First Class from 1954 to 1956 and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving is his wife of the home, Bettie Lou Chilcoat; daughter, Gail Jones of Harrah; three brothers, Bill Chilcoat of Sulphur, Bob Chilcoat of Hot Springs, Ark., and Larry and Ida Chilcoat of Sulphur and two grandchildren.

Jim Chilcote

Private family services are pending for former Seminole resident Jim Alan Chilcote with Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Chilcote died Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Guthrie at the age of 54.

He was born on March 18, 1953 in Seattle, Wash.

Chilcote was a lifelong Seminole resident and for the last year had been residing in Guthrie.

He was a nurse with several Seminole nursing homes and the Seminole hospital before becoming disabled.

Chilcote married Janice Lou (Blackwood) on Feb. 20, 1999.

He was a member of the Woodcrest Baptist Church in Guthrie.

Chilcote was preceded in death by his mother, and his wife, Janice.

He is survived by one daughter, Monica Flores, Guthrie; one sister, Doris Melton, Seminole; and three grandchildren.

Grady Chisum

A memorial service for Seminole resident Grady Chisum will be planned at a later date by the members of the family.

Grady passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2007 in Seminole. He was born Dec. 12, 1942 in California to Letha and Cecil Chisum.

His greatest joy came from making Dream Catchers for people and he enjoyed fishing and camping. Grady had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to make people he came in contact with smile.

His parents and one sister, Margaret Volkmer of Seminole, preceded him n death.

Surviving him are three daughters, Christina Huduhinson, Letha Archer and Krystal BeHara; one son, Grady Lee Chisum of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Calon Huduhinson, Jennifer Davidson, Amber Chisum, Ashley Chisum, Cody BeHara, Shannon BeHara, and Aaron Archer; one great-granddaughter, Kelee Dewitt; two sister, Velma Richards of Tahlequah and Brandy High of Seminole; and one brother, David Chisum of Florida.

Willie Chupco

Funeral services for former Holdenville resident Willie Duane Chupco were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Salt Creek United Methodist Church north of Holdenville, and was to rest in the Brown Family Cemetery.

Rev. David Dunson, Rev. Frank Moppin, and Rev. Malcolm Tiger were the officiating ministers with services under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Holdenville.

Chupco died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in Holdenville, at the age of 50 years. He was born on Feb. 21, 1957, in Talihina to Louie Chupco and Molly Brown.

He was brought up north of Holdenville and attended Holdenville Schools graduating from Holdenville High School in 1975. He was actively involved in the Holdenville FFA, and enjoyed showing calves.

Chupco worked for several years at Big Yank garment factory in Wewoka. He had worked the past 13 years for Tyson Foods in Holdenville, and attended Wes Watkins Area Vo-Tech School in Wetumka.

He was a member of Salt Creek United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed going to church, fishing, and playing the guitar.

His father preceded him in death.

His daughter, Melinda Chupco; his mother, Molly Brown, both of the home and the mother of his child, Sissie Kay Buck of Holdenville, survive him.

Pallbearers were Scott Babb, Joe Tiger, Jimmy Taylor, Junior McGeeley, Paul Fixico and Nathan Long. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Brown, Allen Yargee, Daryl Byerly and Doug Scott.

Stella Claborn

Memorial services for former Seminole resident Stella Lenora Claborn are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Stella Lenora Claborn was born to Morgan and Clara (Cook) Grant on Oct. 23, 1916 in Minco, Okla. She passed from this life on June 22, 2007.

She married her high school sweetheart, Marshall Andrew Claborn, in 1940. Leonora and Marshall moved to Seminole in 1960 and owned and operated the Borden Milk Company franchise in Seminole.

While in Seminole she was a member of the First Christian Church, and also an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for many years.

After Marshall died, Lenora sold the business and moved back to Okalahoma City, and started her many travels around the world and enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Her parents, beloved husband of 29 years, son Morgan Paul Claborn and sister, Maurine Bejeck, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Billie Loydene Beal and husband, Ralph; granddaughters, Janice Burnsed, and Melissa Fraser and husband Hugh; grandsons, Mark Claborn and wife Penny, Steven Claborn and wife Tracy and Greg Beal and wife Karen and great-grandchildren, Evan Lackey, Nic Burnsed, Derek Claborn, Drew Claborn, Dillon Claborn and Madison Claborn.

Georgia Clagg

Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Georgia L. (Barlow) Clagg, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh.

Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Clagg, 79 of McLoud, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 in Shawnee. She was born May 3, 1928 in Rudy, Ark., James M. and Elsie (Amyx) Barlow.

She was raised in Seminole and was a graduate of Seminole High School. Following her marriage, she lived in McLoud for over 30 years.

On June 15, 1951 she married Harold Clagg in Little and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and her family.

Her parents; one son, Gary Lee Clagg; and one grandchild preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Harold Clagg of the home; one son, James H. Clagg of McLoud; one daughter, Jackie S. Molen of Blanchard, Okla.; one sister, Mary Sue Lofton of Seminole; on brother, James H. Barlow of Midwest City; three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

Billie Clark

Funeral services for former Seminole area resident Billie Guzon Clark are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Interment is to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Clark, 85 of Shawnee, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 in Placerville, Calif. He was born April 24, 1921 in Maysville, Okla. to James Warner Clark and Lula Bell Frizzel.

In 1970 he married Edith Florence Hack in Duncan, Okla. She preceded him n death on Jan. 20, 2004.

He was a retired automotive body and fender repairman and had shops in Shawnee and Seminole areas for several years.

Clark was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Shawnee.

His parents and one grandchild, Carrie Broughton also preceded him n death.

Surviving is his daughter, Janice Brasiel of Placerville, Calif.; one brother, J.L. Clark of Roswell, N.M.; one sister, Cathy of Choctaw; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Paul Clinedinst

Services for Seminole resident Paul R. Clinedinst will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Clinedinst, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 in Norman. He was born in Mt. Solon, Va., to Charles C. Clinedinst and Virginia (Harmon) Clinedinst.

On Aug. 12, 1972 he married Mary Francis Bass in Dayton, Va., and moved to Seminole in December 1993 from Virginia.

He was a truck driver and mechanic who contracted with several trucking companies.

Clinedinst served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a radioman third class. He sailed around the world during his time in the service.

Surviving is his wife of the home; three sons, Dale Richard Clinedinst of Apple Valley, Calif., Scott Clinedinst of Riverside, Calif., and Paul Richard Clinedinst, Jr., of Riverside, Calif.; one daughter, Tammara Lynn Farnsworth of Vallejo, Calif.; one brother, Charles "Jack" Clinedinst of Mt. Solon, Va.; one sister, Dorothy Snyder of Winston Salem, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
