Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident C.B. "Red" Conner are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Chris Stinnett is to officiate with interment to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
C.B. "Red" Conner, 92, passed from this life Sunday, March 11, 2007 in Kingston, Okla. He was born Nov. 4, 1914 in Grand Saline, Texas to parents, W.T. Conner and Bertha Mae (Brown) Conner.
On Dec. 23, 1938 "Red" married Louise J. Johnson in Claremore. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base for over 20 years, retiring in 1975. He then owned and operated Conners Landscaping after the retirement.
Mr. Conner was a member of the Seminole Church of Christ.
His parents; his wife, Louise J. Conner (May 1, 1997); one sister, Lucille Sprinkle; one brother, Orvin Conner; one grandson, Brandon Conner; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Brandi; and one daughter-in-law, Beverly Conner, preceded him in death.
Mr. Conner is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, C. Wayne Conner of Mephis, Tenn., Charles and Lnda Conner of Klahoma City and Gale and Lousanna Conner of Oklahoma City; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David McKinney of Kingston; three sisters, Doris Jimison of Stillwater, Lawan Morris of Enid and Dorothy Friend of Enid; 26 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Johnny Conway
Private visitation by the family of lifelong Seminole County resident Johnny Fleming Conway is scheduled from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday and followed by cremation.
Conway, 46, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 in Holdenville. He was born on July 9, 1961 in Seminole to Joe Nathan and Mary (Watson) Conway.
He was self-employed, working on computers and many other odd jobs. Conway was a graduate of Seminole High School.
His parents and two brothers, Jerry and Larry Conway, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his spouse Bonnie Conway of Holdenville; three step-sons: Rickey Chesser of Wewoka, Shannon Haggard of Holdenville, and Anthony Chesser of Oklahoma City; one step-daughter, Charletta Chong Sang of Holdenville; six brothers: Charles Conway, Alonzo Conway, Clarence Conway, Larence Conway and Richard Conway all of Oklahoma City, and Dale Conway of Seminole; four sisters: Doris Carter of McAlester, Clarice Caggs of Anadarko, Alta Griffis of Norman and Freeda Conway of Seminole; and one step-grandchild.
Franklin Cooper
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Franklin D. Cooper are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, Wewoka.
Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Cooper, age 73 years, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born July 22, 1934 in Kilgore, Texas to Levi Lewis and Viva (Counts) Cooper.
He graduated from Wewoka High school and later earned an Associate’s degree in Accounting.
Cooper lived in Odessa and Ft. Worth, Texas, for a number of years and then moved to Fayetteville, Ark. He was an accountant for MLT Management in Fayetteville.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
His parents and one sister, Frances Dunniplin, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers for the services will be: Marshall Till, Fred Ginsburg, Gerald Tarvin, Kevin Lawyer, Keith Lawyer and Rob Lane.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Neva Cooper
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Neva P. Cooper were held today at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Seminole with interment following in the Maple Grove Cemetery officiated by Rev. David Karges, Rev. Gary Wilburn and the honorable Frank H. Seay
Services were entrusted to the Leonard and Marker Funeral Home of Bixby and the Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Neva P. Cooper was born on Oct. 19, 1924 in Byers, Kan., to Luther and Hattie (Dougherty) Stotts. She passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 in Bixby, Okla., at the age of 82 years, nine months and 22 days.
Neva had lived in the Bixby community for the past five years and was formerly a longtime resident of Seminole.
She was retired from the Seminole County Health Department after working many years as the County Nurse.
Neva had been a member of the Seminole First United Methodist Church since 1949 where she was active in the United Methodist Women and had served on the church building committee as well as several other positions within the church.
She also served in volunteer positions with the Seminole Children’s Museum and the Seminole Hospital Board.
While she lived in Bixby, she attended the Bixby First United Methodist Church. She loved playing bridge and was involved with a bridge club until her health would not allow her to continue.
She married E. Keith Cooper on Sept. 7, 1949 at the Friends Church in Byers, Kan., and after almost 35 years together, he preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1982.
Neva was also preceded by her six siblings; Luther Stotts, Sylvia Stotts, Chester Stotts, Elva Stotts Franks, Juanita Stotts Hemphill and Ivan Stotts.
She is survived by four children, Nevin Cooper and wife Ronda, of Tulsa, Kent Cooper and wife Edy, of Cleveland, Okla., Cathy Cooper Cott and husband Dan, of Tahlequah, Okla., and Carol Cooper Nutter and husband Greg, of Katy, Texas; seven grandchildren, Allison Cooper Wright and husband Jason, Nevin Blaine Cooper, Jason Scott and Jenilyn Spates, Mallory Scott, Meredith Cott, Samantha Nutter and Keith Nutter; two great-grandchildren, Jake Wright and Caden Wright as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers are Roger Stotts, Eugene Stotts, Marlin Stotts, N. Blaine Cooper, Jason P. Scott, Travis Condray, Spencer Condray, Keith Nutter and Jason Wright.
Music will be provided by Sandy Peters and Emily Sims.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Ree Cooper
A Celebration of Life service for Seminole resident, Ree Perry Cooper is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur.
Interment is scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday at Sulphur Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Ree Perry Cooper passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the age of 93 in Seminole. She was born on Sept. 8, 1913 in Waurika, Okla., to Charles Duane and Cora Lee (Perry) Snider.
She was a graduate of Waurika High School and attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla.
She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
Ree met and married Charles Freeman Cooper on Sept. 8, 1941 in Waurika, together they resided in Sulphur, where lived from 1945 until 1997 where she then moved to Seminole to make her home.
She has been a resident of Seminole Estates Nursing Home for the past five years where she was cared for by a very devoted and caring staff, for which her family will forever be grateful.
Her parents, son-in-law, Gerald Lynn Moreland and great granddaughter, Cami Smith preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Snider and Vickie Cooper of Davis, Okla., and daughter Rebecca Lee Moreland of Seminole.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Charlie and Robin Cooper of Davis, Heather and Jeff James of Seminole, Brandon and Karin Moreland of Edmond, and Devin and Anthony Smith of Edmond.
Ree is also survived by great grandchildren, Lexia and Jackson Cooper of Davis, Jenson and Jacey James of Seminole, Emma, Meagan, Jillian and Bradley Moreland of Edmond and Conner and Catelyn Smith of Edmond.
She also leaves to cherish her memories three very special sisters-in-law, Dolores Snider, of Yukon, Mary Lacy Snider of Fredrick and Edna Cooper of Broken Arrow, and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Peggy Ann Copeland
Funeral services for former Maud resident Peggy Ann Copeland are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Vaden Morgan officiating with the assistance of James Zeller.
Interment is to follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Copeland, 24, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at Texoma Medical Center. She was born Aug. 9, 1982 in Moore to Jerry Wayne and Mary (Gober) Copeland.
She lived most of her life in Maud and attended Maud Schools until moving to Denison, Texas in May of 2000 to attend the School for the Blind and Impaired her senior year.
Copeland had been active in Special Olympics and was a member of the Future Homemakers of America (F.H.A.). She was very active while attending the School for the Blind and Impaired.
Her mother (March 12, 2005) and her paternal grandmother, Lena Faye Copeland (1982) preceded her in death.
Surviving is her father and stepmother who raised her, Jerry and Elizabeth Copeland of Denison, Texas; twin brother, Patrick Wayne Copeland of Garland, Texas and brother, Roy Copeland of Denison; two sisters, Carole Maxon and LaTisha Vansickle, both of Denison; paternal grandfather, Leonard Copeland of Sherman, Texas; maternal grandparents, Peggy and Roy Gober of Tupelo, Miss. and maternal step-grandparents, Carole and Bennie Pierce of Macomb.
Steven Cornelison
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Steven Lee Cornelison are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Clark officiating.
Interment is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Cornelison, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007. He was born Oct. 14, 1948 in Seminole to Harvey and Juanita (Meeks) Cornelison.
He graduated from Seminole High School and attended Seminole Junior College for two years. He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Seminole.
Cornelison had worked for the Oklahoma Tax Commission since 1988, doing computer security. He also worked for Cornelison Engine for several years.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1974 as a computer specialist.
Surviving is his mother, Juanita Cornelison of Seminole and one brother, Wade Cornelison of Lufkin, Texas.
Casket bearers will be: Mike McCoy, Mike Cornelison, Ken Green, Floyd Griffin, Garrett Cornelison and Daniel Cornelison.
Raymond Corona
Funeral services for Seminole resident Raymond Dewayne Corona are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeremy Benson will officiate the service, assisted by Rev. Bruce Benson.
Interment will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Corona, 21, died Monday, May 14, 2007 in Seminole County. He was born Nov. 13, 1985 in Wewoka to Raymond Roman Corona and Barbara Sue (Kelough) Corona.
He was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church.
His father, who died July 31, 1995, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his mother, Barbara Corona of Seminole; maternal grandmother, Betty Jean Kelough of Wewoka; three brothers, Albert Corona of Seminole, Kenneth Corona of Moore and Michael Kelough of Konawa and three sisters, Carolyn Corona of Seminole, Vickie Haskins of Seminole and Kathy Taylor of Purcell.
Casket bearers will be: Dalwayne Smith, Wendell Smith, Daniel Sanders, Donvie Sanders, James Sanders, Kyle Smith, Gary Sanders and Jerry Cummings.
Honorary bearers will be; Amos Smith, Joe Bob Clower and Charlie Arbuckle.
