Funeral services for Lee Don Droke, 61-year-old Putnam resident, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church of Putnam with Dennis Adair officiating.
Burial is to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Mound Valley cemetery in Thomas, Okla., under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas.
Droke died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 in Putnam at his home. He was born on June 12, 1945 in Clinton to Martin Stephen and Nell Ola (Holland) Droke.
He was the fourth of four children and was raised in the Putnam area. He was a member of the Roseland Assembly of God Church and a member of the Tommy Burnett’s Assembly of God Church in Phoenix, Ariz.
Droke graduated from Putnam High School in 1963. He attended Broadcasting School of the South in Atlanta, Ga.
He joined the United States Army in 1965, spending one year at Ft. Bliss, Texas. The remainder of his tour was spent in Tokyo, Japan.
Droke returned to the Putnam Community for several years, helping his dad with the farming and ranching business.
In 1976 and 1977 he traveled to Saudi Arabia to build prefab housing and reverse osmosis water purification facilities.
Several years later he moved to Oklahoma City to care for his mother. He returned to the family farm in the Putnam area in 2003.
His parent and one brother, Loren Keith Droke, preceded him in death.
Surviving is one brother, Bill Droke of Oklahoma City and one sister, Bonnie Battles of Seminole.
Eddie Duck
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident, Eddie Lee Duck are scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Konawa with Carl Wills, Richard Winters and Frank Brewer officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Ed died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City, at the age of 79. He was born on Sept. 7, 1927 in Konawa to Bill and Lillie (Payne) Duck.
He served in the United States Air Force and married Nancy (Barnett) on March 13, 1969 in Westminster, Calif.
He worked as a police officer, oilfield worker, farmer and owned a service station.
Ed enjoyed raising watermelons. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Konawa and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Duck of the home; three sons, Steve Duck of Del City, Eddie Duck, Jr. of Noble and Kevin Duck of Konawa; three brothers, Jim Duck of Konawa, Claud Duck of Shawnee and Johnny Duck of Earlsboro; two sisters, Billie Crownover of Jones and Anna Roe of Konawa; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Snow, Johnny Duck, Brandon Duck, Denise Duck, Chris Duck, Katlynn Duck, Ashley Duck and Barrett Duck; six great-grandchildren, Logan Snow, Lakin Snow, Seth Duck, Brise Duck, Denver Duck Tyler Duck, Nathyn Duck, Justyn Duck and Austin Duck.
His parents; one brother, Harold Duck and one sister, Gerladine Meadows, preceded him in death.
Serving as casket bearers will be Carl Wyatt, Burnus Fisher, Mike Boren, Jim Lowe, Danny Clayton and Gerald Jackson. Honorary bearer will be Lillard Berry.
Melton Earnest
Memorial services for longtime Seminole resident, Melton Earnest are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday at the First Assembly of God in Bowlegs with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Earnest died on Friday April 6, 2007 at Seminole Medical Center at the age 73. He was born July 28, 1933 in Okemah to Thomas Henry and Buelah Mae (Hicks) Earnest.
He married Deloris (Dodson) on May 2, 1986 and served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1956.
Earnest was a member of the First Assembly of God in Bowlegs. He was active in teaching Sunday school and was the leader of the Royal Rangers at Little Assembly of God.
He worked as a pump technician for Oklahoma Pump Company for eleven years.
His parents, two brothers: John Earnest and Alva James Earnest and two sisters: Billie Neal and Tommie Wescovich preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Deloris Earnest of the home; one son, Terry Allen Earnest; four daughters, Tersa Lynn Earnest, Tonie Ruth Evans, Cindy Fleming of Seminole, and Beth Turner of Seminole; five sisters, Naomi Coons of Brea, Calif., Mary Scovel of Placerville, Idaho, Betty Sande of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Patsy Light of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Faith Cinko of Yuma, Ariz.; three brothers, Cecil Earnest of Pahrump, Nev., Jimmy Earnest of Hutchinson, Kan., and Sammy Earnest of Aurora, Colo., and nine grandchildren.
Kenneth Edgmon
Services for longtime Cromwell resident Kenneth I. Edgmon are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Burial is to take place at the Little Cemetery.
Edgmon died Tuesday at the Seminole Medical Center at the age of 85. He was born Oct. 2, 1921 in Rudy, Ark. to Samuel and Idar (Medlin) Edgmon.
He married Johnnie "Ella Mae" Devine July 2, 1946. Edgmon was a Cromwell resident since 1948 where he was a rancher and pumper until his retirement.
Edgemon was a World War II veteran in which he was stationed in England. He was a Master Mason since 1949 and was currently a member of Holdenville Lodge.
He also served on the Butner Board of Education from 1968 to 1970.
His parents, wife, three brothers and six sisters precede him in death.
Survivors include two sons Gary and Ricky Edgmon of Tecumseh and one sister, Esther Rather of Bullhead City, Arizona.
Sammy Edwards
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident Sammy Joe Edwards are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Lima High School Auditorium with Rev. E.G. Bert, Sr. of St. Stephens Baptist Church of Wewoka officiating.
Burial will follow at Lima Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary.
Edwards, 65 of Lima, died Friday, May 18, 2007 in Lima. He was born in Lima on May 11, 1942 to Sam Henry and Lenora (Hunter) Edwards.
He worked in the oilfields for 12 year; Wrangler for five years; Lillian Russell for 16 years; Goff Industries for four and one half years; Commercial Brick for one year; Amos Construction for one year; and retired from Central Plastic after working there for four and one half years.
Edwards was also a farmer and enjoyed horses and rodeos.
He was a member of Scipio Baptist Church, Lima, where he served on the Deacon Board. Edwards was a member of Sunday school, was a Pastor’s aide and a member of the Brotherhood.
His parents; one sister, Sammie; and three brothers, Alonzo, Perry, and baby Edwards, preceded him n death.
Surviving is his wife, Wilzetta Edwards of the home; sons, Michael of Shawnee and Bryant of Seminole; daughter, Sidney Green of Shawnee; sisters, Princella Ross, Rosetta Cravens, Carol Ann Morris and Sonobia James; brothers, Lorenzo, Terry, Kenneth, Wallace and Kim Edwards; and five grandchildren.
David Ellis
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, David Wayne Ellis, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Akasvmkv Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Factor officiating.
Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.
Mr. Ellis died on Monday, April 16, 2007 in Ada. He was born June 24, 1959 in Ada to Paul and Peggy Sue Ott Ellis.
He graduated from Sasakwa High School and attended college for three years.
While at Seminole State College, he was the president of the Student Government Association. He was a member of Alpha Theta Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International, on the Dean’s Honor list, the English Honor Society, Sigma Kappa Delta, and he had many other accomplishments.
He was a brick and stone mason as well as a musician, pianist, songwriter and composer of Christian songs.
Survivors include a son, James Daniel Ellis of Allen; parents, Paul and Peggy Sue Ellis of Allen; grandmother, Gladys Cole of Stratford; brother, Paul Timothy Ellis of Allen; three sisters, Deborah Bell, Mary Martinez and Teri Johnson, all of Wewoka; one brother-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bearers for the services are: Stanley Johnson, Michael Stringer, Timmy Ellis, Brandon Boyd, Stanley Johnson II and Mark Howell.
Honorary bearers are: George Sharp, Enrique Martinez II, Larry Short, Jeffrey Waters II, Jeff Jones and Bobby Malone.

Graveside services for Jacob Wayne Ellis and Luke Ryan Ellis are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Little Cemetery with Kris Steele officiating.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
The twins are the sons of Garrett Wayne and Rachel Lanae (Rhodes) Ellis of Seminole and were born on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Oklahoma City.
Luke went to Heaven on Saturday, July 21, 2007 and was joined by Jacob on Sunday, July 22, 2007.
Survivors include their grandparents, Don and Nancy Ellis of Seminole, Ray Rhodes of Longdale, Okla., and Jeanie Emmons of Longdale; great-grandparents, Bobby J. "Oldpal" Thompson of Seminole and Earl and Netta Ellis of Prague; uncles, Robert Gonzalez of Chicago, Ill., Chris Ellis of Seminole and Dusty Rhodes of Oakwood, Calif., and aunts, Julie Skelton of Hamilton, Mont., and Tonya Pembrooke of Seminole.
Andrew Estep
Funeral services for Cromwell resident Rev. Andrew Estep are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the New Life Church in Wewoka with Rev. Larry Chesser Jr. officiating.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
Estep died Monday, April 16, 2007 in Holdenville at the age of 95. He was born May 8, 1911 in Arkansas to Jim and Emm (Carrigan) Estep.
He came to Oklahoma with his family when he was only two years old and they settled in the Cromwell area, where he attended school.
At 23 he married Eva Shankles and they also made their home in Cromwell and he worked for Carter Oil Company.
As a young man he entered the ministry and was ordained through the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He pastored churches in Wewoka, Holdenville, Henryetta, Pauls Valley, Ponca City, Fox, Kingston, Wetumka and Cromwell.
In the early 1940’s Estep and his wife began a life of a traveling evangelist. They held revival meetings all across the Midwest for several years.
He began pastoring again and never lost his passion for evangelism. Estep served as pastor and evangelist some 63 years and was the oldest ordained minister in his conference.
Estep enjoyed watching boxing and rodeos on television and spending time with his family.
His wife, six brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Surviving are two children, Rosetta Walton of Wetumka and Timothy Estep of Post Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services will be: Bob Estep, Eugene Estep, Mark Gaddy, Silas Gaddy, Jimmy Upton and Ronnie Upton.
