Memorial services for Mary Kathryn Grisso are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Oklahoma City.
Burial will be at Arlington Memory Gardens in Spencer next to her husband, William Edward Grisso, under the direction of Hahn-Cook/Street Draper Funeral, Oklahoma City.
Mary Kathryn Grisso was born in Hannah, Okla., on July 6, 1916. She was the daughter of Neva Aydelott and Robert Massey McRay.
Later the family moved to Ada and her school time was spent in Ada. She went to college at the University of Arkansas and graduated with a degree in Art.
In 1943, she married William Edward (Bill) Grisso, Jr. of Seminole. Her husband preceded her in death in 1965.
After the death of her husband she assumed ownership and management of Arlington Memory Gardens, a large cemetery in Spencer, Okla.
Because of her earlier experience in art, she made the cemetery more pleasing to the eye and it was written up in various cemetery journals. Grisso spoke at one of the conventions of the National Cemetery Association.
In 1981, she sold Arlington Memory Gardens and took up dancing.
Surviving is her stepson, William Edward Grisso.
Lois Dixon McRay, her sister preceded her in death.

Hailey Grizzle
Funeral services for the 11-month old infant daughter of MaLinda Lindley and Warren Meyers, Sr. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Holdenville.
Rev. Jerry Orsburn and Rev. Larry Chesser will officiate with burial to follow at Yeager Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
Hailey Nicole Elizabeth Grizzle died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at her home. She was born March 20, 2006 in Shawnee.
Her great-grandfather Leroy A. Grizzle preceded her in death.
Surviving are her parents; seven siblings, Paul Leroy Lindley, Desire’ Denise Lindley, Jessica Danielle Lindley, Destiny Yvonne Green, Austin Dirk Green, Debra Shania "Jewel" Green and Christopher Jeremiah Grizzle, all of Wewoka; maternal grandparents, Debra and Tommy Grizzle Sr. of Holdenville and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Jewel "Betty" Grizzle of Sun City, Calif.
Joseph Grove
Mass services for lifelong Sacred Heart and Konawa resident Joseph William Grove are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B. officiating.
Interment is to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
A Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Konawa.
Grove, 85, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at Shawnee Care Center. He was born Sept. 25, 1921 on the family farm in Konawa to Arthur Patrick and Anna Catherine (Kuestersteffen) Grove.
He attended St. Mary’s Academy Grade School at sacred Heart and graduated from Konawa High School in 1942.
Grove served in the United States Navy during World War II as a V-5 Cadet and received an honorable discharge on Jan. 4, 1943.
On Sept. 2, 1952 he married Iva Marie Bourbonnais and she preceded him in death on July 6, 1989. He later married Geraldine Lehman on May 15, 1993at Sacred Heart.
Grove worked in the greater area oilfields for over 30 years as a roughneck and roustabout for St. Louis Well Service and Kennedy and Booth Well Service.
He farmed all of his life and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
His parents; first wife; one son, Joseph Patrick Grove; one brother, Chris Grove and three sisters, Emma Semtner, Monica Moran and Sister Mary Tarsicius, R.S.M. preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Geraldine Grove of Shawnee; one daughter, Diane Beesley of Shawnee; one brother, John Grove of Konawa; one sister, Teresa Sanders of Newcastle; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be Stephen Beesley, Victor Beesley, Joe Semtner, David Semtner, Steve Semtner and Mike Varnell.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Lorie Groves
Funeral services for Wewoka native Lorie Anne Groves were held at 2 p.m. today at Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah with Rev. Dennis Yeubanks officiating.
Interment followed at the Schoolton Cemetery in Seminole County under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.
Lorie Anne Groves passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at her home in Cromwell at the age of 39. She was born Oct. 16, 1967 in Wewoka to Allen and Mary (Lunsford) Smith.
Lorie had been a resident of the Cromwell area most of her life; having graduated from Butner High School in 1985.
She and Rick Groves married on May 24, 1986 in Wewoka. Lorie had been an employee of the Okemah National Bank and a member of Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah. She enjoyed camping and crafts.
Surviving is her husband Rick of Cromwell; two sons, Jeremy Groves and wife Virginia of Bearden and Brandon Groves of Cromwell; one daughter, Ashley Groves of Cromwell; her parents, Allen and Mary Smith of Davenport; two sisters, Sherry McElroy of Choctaw and Brenda Cole of Moore; and one granddaughter, Summer Groves of Bearden.
She is also survived by parents-in-law, Elvin and Linda Groves of Cromwell; sisters-in-law, Tina Clower and husband Jerry of Cromwell and Tamara Hill and husband John of Oakridge, Tenn.; and brother-in-law, Terry Groves and wife Pat of Cromwell; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Serving as pallbearers were: Jimmy Whisnant, Rick Kennedy, John Hill, Kurt Titsworth, Jerry Clower and Mike McElroy. Terry Groves was an honorary bearer.
Mary Groves
Services for Mary Nell Groves of Ada are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Pat Kilby, Revs. John Haynes and Harold Ware to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.
Mrs. Groves, 73, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Jan. 16, 1934 at Ray City community, located northwest of Konawa, to Carl C. and Gertie Jane Johnson Conn.
She graduated from Excelsior High School, near Okemah, in 1952; and later received a degree in elementary education from East Central University.
On Feb. 25, 1955 she married Floyd S. Groves at the First Baptist Church in Ada.
Mrs. Groves was an elementary teacher for 44 years; with her first two years of teaching beginning at Galey, and the remaining years spent at Vanoss, where she was Teacher of the Year for the school year 1989-1990. She was currently teaching at Vanoss Elementary School.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Ada, where she taught Sunday school since the mid 1950s.
Mrs. Groves was a member of the National Education Association, Oklahoma Education Association, International Reading Council, Oklahoma Reading Council and the Pontotoc Reading Council, of which she was the president in 1980-1981.
Her parents and two brothers, Jimmy Ray Conn and Jackie Clyde Conn, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Floyd S. Groves, of the home; one son, Steve Groves and wife Lisa; one daughter, Carla Kay Atkinson and husband Gregg of Oklahoma City; five grandsons: Justin Groves, Jonathan Groves, Matthew Groves, Mason Groves, and David Atkinson; and one brother, John D. Conn and wife Bettie of Seminole.
Bearers will be Justin groves, Jonathan Groves, Matthew Groves, Mason Groves, David Atkinson and Gregg Atkinson.

Kalley Gulley
Graveside services for the infant daughter of Jeremy and Shelly (Rives) Gulley, Kalley Skye Gulley, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Allen Mabra officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.
Gulley died Saturday, March 10, 2007 in the Newman Memorial Hospital in Shattuck.
She is survived by her parents; brothers, Ethan Gulley of Woodward, Jeremiah Gulley of Omaha, Neb.; maternal grandparents, Carla Nichols and Harry Rives of Woodward; maternal great-grandparents, Barbara Bernard of Start, La., and paternal grandparents, Jack and Barbara Bible and Ada Bible, all of Wewoka.
Lemual Hale
Funeral services for longtime Maud resident Lemual Roy Hale were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the East Oak Church of God with a burial to follow at Cummings Cemetery, with pastor Hershal Davis officiating.
Services were under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
Hale died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the age of 88. He was born on Feb. 18, 1919 in Hazel, Okla., the ninth child born to Lee Roy and Amanda Ella (Layton) Hale.
He moved with his family to Maud in 1924 at the age of five.
On Sept. 21, 1940 in Maud Lemual married Rachel (Taylor) Hale and to this union three sons were born.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He served with the 456th Combat Engineering regiment, out of company of 158 service personnel he was one of only 32 to return home after the war. He earned the rank of Corporal.
Lemual worked on pipeline construction as a heavy equipment operator for 24 years, which took the family through 42 states. He later worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, which he retired from in 1979.
His parents, two sons, Freddie Roy Hale (April 28, 1983) and James Lee Hale (July 22, 1951), six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
His wife Rachel Hale of the home; one son, Donald Ray Hale of Eufaula; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren survives him.
Pallbearers will be Donald L. Hale, Terry Jay Hale, Neal Allen Hale, Roger W. Smith, Jerry W. Woody, and Henry "Butch" Pierce.
Shirley Hammonds
Funeral services for Holdenville resident Shirley Ann Hunter Hammonds are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville with Rev. Tony Chesser officiating.
Burial will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Hammonds, 67, died Monday, April 16, 2007 at Elmwood Nursing Home in Wewoka. She was born in Sasakwa on April 26, 1939 to Lloyd Lee "Curly" and Grace (Welch) George.
She married Ralph Hunter in 1955 and they had four children. In 1981 she married Ed Hammonds.
Her parents, one brother, Johnny, husband, Ralph, and husband, Ed, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her daughter, Sherry Jacobs; sons, Ralph Hunter, John Hunter and Lloyd Hunter13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Glen Jacobs Jr., Marc Hunter, Shane Hunter, Jeremy Graham and Jayson Orr.
Deward Hancock Jr.
Funeral services for Deward "Junior" Hancock, Jr. of Oklahoma City are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Prague.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Hancock, 43, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Diego Garcia Air Force Base. He was born June 7, 1963 in Oklahoma City to Deward E. and Carolyn (Landers) Hancock, Sr.
He worked as an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Hancock-Flatt of Newalla; his father, Deward Hancock Sr. of Earlsboro; three daughters, Amy Hancock of Seminole, Rebecca Hancock of Prague and Melissa Hancock of Shawnee; the mother of his daughters, Angela Ross, of Shawnee and one sister, Terry Cleghorn of Newcastle.
