Graveside services for Terra Renae Lemmons, the infant daughter of Desiree Lemmons of Holdenville, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Tate Mountain Cemetery with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Lemmons died Sunday, June 3, 2007 in Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born April 11, 2007 to Desiree Lemmons and stepfather, Kenny Milam of Holdenville.
Surviving are her parents; maternal grandmother, Melba Cottrell of Wewoka; maternal step-grandfather, Anthony Edwards of Wewoka; maternal step-grandfather, David Cottrell, Sr. of Holdenville; paternal grandfather, Michael Lemmons of Calif.; paternal great-grandparents, Margie and Vernon Lemmons of Calif., and paternal great-great grandmother, Willie Bell Lemmons of Calif.
James Lemons
Graveside services for former Seminole resident, James Alfred Lemons are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Little Cemetery with George H. Lemons to officiate.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole. The U.S. Military will perform a flag ceremony.
Lemons passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at his home in McQueeney. He was born Jan. 21, 1936 to Edmond and Rachel Ann (Gregory) Lemons of Seminole.
He was a graduate of Seminole High School in 1953 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics at East Central University in 1960 after having served in the Army in Baumholder, Germany from 1954 – 1956.
Lemons was employed by Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville from 1960-1962 and then worked for General Dynamics in San Diego where he was involved with the Venus Probe and Mariner 4 to Mars projects.
He also worked for RCA in Thule, Greenland for two years on the BMEWS (ballistic early warning system) project. He re-joined Phillips Petroleum in 1966 until his retirement in 1988.
Lemons was recently inducted into the Seminole Athletic Hall of Fame in the area of Football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, A.J., Earl, and Merrel.
Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Cynthia Gay Lemons, Nee Winkler, of McQueeney, Texas; two sons Michael Lemons of Carlsbad, Calif., and Timothy Lemons of Mesa, Ariz.; and one brother, George H. Lemons of Tulsa.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to either St. Judes Hospital; Pancreatic Cancer Network; or any favorite charity of one’s choosing in his name.
Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Solo Club in Bartlesville, Okla., on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.
Robert Lena
Wake services for Wewoka native Robert Dean Lena are scheduled for 6- 8 p.m. Friday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, with interment set for 2 p.m. Monday at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Robert Dean Lena, was born Nov. 12, 1943 in Wewoka and passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his home in Muskogee, Okla.
Robert was a welder and mechanic by trade and attended Butner School and Okmulgee Tech. School.
He was a member of White Stone Baptist Church of Cromwell.
His extended family consists of Dick and Joyce Padilla and family, Parkville, Mo., Allen and Wanda Wright, Dallas, G., and Boots and Dale Barron, Dallas, Ga.
His parents Paul and Sallie Noon Bruner precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Lena of the home; son, Robert L. Lena, Wetumka; daughter, Robin and husband Victor Marshall, Wetumka; daughter, Erica and husband Josh Breazeale of Hanna, Okla.; grandsons, Victor Ryan Marshall, Charles K. and Joshua A. Breazeale; granddaughter, Kayla M. Marshall; aunts, Edith Harjo, Cromwell and Juanita Chupco, Seminole; eight sisters and one brother, a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives.
Cindy J. Lewis
A memorial service will be announced at a later date for former Seminole resident Cynthia Jeanette "Cindy" Lewis.
Lewis died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, in Ada, at the age of 50.
She was borne March 6, 1957, in Ada, to Howard A. Lewis and Carolyn Jean (Houston) Lewis.
Lewis graduated from Varnum High School in 1975 and went on to receive her master’s degree in psychology from East Central University in Ada.
She went on to be an instructor at ECU for several years before working as a counselor at Tri-City Substance Abuse Center in Seminole, and then at Mental Health Services in Ada.
Lewis was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1964, and her mother, who died in 1981.
She is survived by a brother, Scotty Lewis of Seminole.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Jeff Lewis
Funeral services for Seminole native Jeffery (Jeff) Dean Lewis were held Saturday, April 28 at the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Ohiser officiating.
Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in York, S.C.
Jeff went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at his home in York, S.C., at the age of 43 years. He was born in Seminole on Feb. 13, 1964 as the son of Louis Bule (Buck) Lewis (now deceased) and Mary Delorise Sibley Lewis.
He was raised by his stepfather, Paul Ray Melton (now deceased).
Jeff was employed by Moran Pipe and Supply while living in Seminole. He moved to Charlotte, N.C., when his stepfather died to help take care of his mother.
He continued to commute to his job in Charlotte and was well respected by his co-workers. Jeff was a devoted son and brother.
Jeff gave his heart to the Lord just eight days before his death. He had been sick with cancer about six months before his passing.
He is survived by his mother, Delorise Melton of York, S.C.; his brothers, Donald Melton of York and Paul Melton of Lincolnton, N.C.; three half-sisters and one half-brother (in the Lewis family).
Survivors living in the Seminole include: aunts, Kay Croce and Towanda Young; cousins, Jana Morgan and Joyce Goodman; grandmother, Florence McElhaney of Bristow and many aunts, cousins and friends, who will also greatly miss him.
Charles Lindsay
Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Charles Douglas Lindsay are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Houston Tiger and Mike Harjo officiating.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Lindsay of Denver, Colo., died Friday, July 13, 2007 in Denver, Colo. at the age of 64 years. He was born on March 15, 1943 in Seminole County to Willie and Lizzie (Coody) Lindsay.
He was retired from the United States Army and on April 7, 1990 he married Naomi Fobb in Denver, Colo.
Surviving is his wife of the home; two sons, Charles D. Lindsay Jr. and Robert Lindsay, both of Washington; two daughters, Simone Tootle of North Carolina and Elizabeth Lindsay of Denver; six brothers, Bobby Jack Spencer, Eugene Lindsay, Walter Lindsay, Alec Lindsay and Thomas Lindsay, all of Seminole, and Jimmy Lindsay of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Bertha Deer of Shawnee, Mary Ann of Maud and Augustine Lindsay of Shawnee and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and the honorary bearers will be Santiago Macarena.
Maudine Lindsey
Funeral services for Seminole resident Maudine Ellen Lindsey are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Memorial Chapel, Van Buren, Ark.
Burial is to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Van Buren, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
Lindsey, 89, died Monday, March 12, 2007 in Seminole. She was born July 30, 1917 in Uniontown, Ark., to Reuben and Ruth Sherman Myers.
She was a homemaker, a member of Van Buren First Assembly of God Church and lived most of her life in Van Buren.
Her husband, Lester Lindsey, and a son, Bill Lindsey, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kay Crabtree of Seminole and Sandra Madairy of Van Buren; one sister, Bernice King of Van Buren and two brothers, Ted Myers of Van Buren and James Floyd Myers of Greenwood, Ark.
Thomas Lindsey
Funeral services for Bristow resident Thomas J. Lindsey are wew held today at 2 p.m. in the Schumacher Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah.
Burial followed at the Buckley Family Cemetery under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home.
Lindsey, 66-year old retired welder, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at the St. Francis Heart Hospital in Tulsa, after a lengthy illness. He was born April 29, 1940 in Wetumka to Amy Josey and Columbia Lindsey.
He later moved to Oklahoma City and joined the military in 1959. He was a member of the 95th Division of the United States Army.
Lindsey was a member of the Sand Creek Church and worked as a welder in Dallas, Tulsa and in Sapulpa, where he retired early due to back injuries.
He has been a resident of Bristow for the past 29 years and had married Alice Mae Buckley on Sept. 13, 1972. They had three children.
One daughter, Colleen (1980); brother, Lewis Lindsey; half-brother, Freeman Harjo and two sisters, Ruby Stewart and Mary Coonhead preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Alice, of the home; sons, Michael J. Lindsey of Bristow and Thomas Phillip Lindsey of Konawa; daughters, Leslie L. Hicks of Tulsa, Carmella Christine Cook of Kellyville, Patricia Ann Lindsey of Tecumseh and Patti Ann Pinnell of Miller, Mo.; one sister, Nanny Scott of Bristow and 11 grandchildren.
Floyd Linn
Lifelong Seminole resident Floyd Luther Linn passed away on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007 at the age of 74 at Pioneer Nursing Home.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1932 in Seminole to Luther and Betty Mae (Gentry) Linn.
He graduated from McLish High School near Ada in 1950. He served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class during the Korean War. He was a retired security officer.
He is survived by one son, Terry Linn of Sears, Calif.; one stepson, Wesley Linn of California; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald L. "Don" and Shirley N. Linn of Tahlequah; two aunts, Bessie Kidwell of Napa, Calif., and Velma Crews of Glenpool.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Rachel and Samuel Linn of California and numerous nieces nephews and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack A. Linn in 2000.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 at Maple Grove Cemetery.
