Kenneth Lowery

Graveside services for Okemah area resident Kenneth Edward Lowery were held at 10 a.m. this morning at the Prague Cemetery with Rev. Brian Matthews officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.

Lowery, 86, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at his home in Shawnee. He was born March 1, 1921 in Paden to Dave and Pearl (Latta) Lowery.

He was a resident of Okemah for most of his life and on Sept. 6, 1949 he married Thurza Darlene Irick in Paden. She preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2005.

Lowery worked for many years as a farmer, oil field worker, and caretaker of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Okemah.

He served his country with the United States Army during World War II.

His parents and one sister, Jane Harris, also preceded him in death.

Surviving is one son, Wayne Lowery of Shawnee; one daughter, Gwen Keller of Mustang; one brother, Clifford Vance Lowery of Seminole; two sisters, Lillian Landrum of Seminole and Ann Woodward of Shawnee; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers were: Robert Nolan Jr., Patrick Lucero, Robert Nolan Sr., and Jeremiah Conway.

Rex Lowry

Graveside services for lifelong Konawa resident Rex W. Lowry were held today at 11 a.m. at Konawa Cemetery with Mark Streetman of the First Baptist Church of Konawa officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Rex W. Lowry, 75, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at his home. He was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Konawa to Raymond Dee and Leona Wortham Lowry.

Rex graduated from Konawa High School and attended East Central University in Ada for two years and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

He married Wanda Dean Gaines on Sept. 15, 1951 in Sherman, Texas.

Mr. Lowry was a cattle rancher and also raised thoroughbred racehorses and quarter horses.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Konawa.

His parents and one sister, Billie Diane Lowry preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sons, Timothy E. Lowry and wife, Kathy, of Konawa, Ronald R. Lowry and wife, Meredith, of Konawa and Ricky W. Lowry of Crawley, Colo.; one daughter, Debra L. Jackson and husband, Danny, of Del City; one sister, Margaret Surman and husband, Chuck, of Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Damon Jackson and wife, Chrissy, of Midwest City, Michele Jesse and husband, Todd, of Konawa, Melissa Wilson and husband, the late Marty Wilson, of Konawa, Jason Lowry of Konawa, Heath Lowry and wife, Rachelle, of Konawa, Paige Stover and husband, Donnie, of Konawa, Lilah Parker and husband, Stevan, of Cromwell, Austin Lowry, Dallas Lowry and Talerra Lowry, all of Konawa and six great-grandchildren, Mikala Wilson, Mikinley Wilson, Mikenna Wilson, Colten Jesse and Jaden Jesse, all of Konawa, and Logan Jackson of Midwest City.

Pallbearers for the services were: Heath Lowry, Jason Lowry, Damon Jackson, Austin Lowry, Dallas Lowry, Donnie Stover and Todd Jesse.

Manuel Luna

Funeral services for Seminole resident Manuel "Moon" Luna were held today at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.

Interment followed at Thrace Cemetery in Bowlegs. Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Luna passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007 in Seminole, at the age of 78. He was born on Aug. 7, 1929 in Roundup, Texas to A.R. and Elsiedora (Gutirrez) Luna.

He married Emilia (Baca) Luna on May 10, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas; she survives him of the home.

Luna worked in construction for many years, and was of the Catholic Faith.

His parents, A.R. and Elsiedora (Gutirrez) Luna; two sisters, Virginia Vasquez and Marie Martinez; a daughter, Adela Hernandez; one son, Manuel Luna, Jr. and one grandson preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife; two sons: Edward Luna of Bowlegs and Gilbert Luna of Killeen, Texas; four daughters: Margaret Gonzales, San Antonia, Texas, Beatrice Garcia, Vici, Okla., Rachel Cortez of Dalhart, Texas, and Rosemary Valles, Texline, Texas; two brothers: Santiago Luna, Houston, Texas, and Thomas Luna of Bowlegs; one sister, Barbara Gutirrez of Lubbock, Texas; 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Michael Garcia, John Manuel Aguilera, Fabian Aguilera, Jason Smith, Ricky Gutirrez, Pedro Martinez.

Honorary bearers were: Ewell Stafford, Roger Butner, Johnnie Sylsberry.

Randy Lunsford

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Randy Lynn Lunsford are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment is to follow at Lightening Ridge Cemetery in Roff, Okla.

Randy passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 at the age of 57. He was born Nov. 26, 1949 to Ralph Rudolph and Roberta Lee (Herring) Lunsford in Ada.

He was an electrician at Goff Corporation in Seminole and also worked for Wrangler, OG&E and Canadian Valley Electric for many years.

Randy loved spending time in his garage and loved his grandchildren very much.

His parents, grandparents and one brother, Ronnie Lunsford preceded him in death.

Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Les Waller of Stillwater and seven grandchildren, Laken, Lauryn and Lawson of Waller, Skylier and Tommy Shull and Blade and Coalton Knox.

Pallbearers for the services will be Larry Bruce, Larry Potter, Ray Lemmings, Darren Shull, Tony Knox and Justin Lemmings.

Honorary bearers will be Harold Poulter, Sean Weaver and Jimmy Dinwiddie.

Fred Luther

Graveside services for former Seminole resident, Fred R. Luther, were held today at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery Chapel in Norman.

Services were under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman.

Luther, 86 of Norman, died Thursday, April 12, 2007 in Norman. He was born in Joliet, Ill. on Feb. 26, 1921 to Everett Irving and Anna Elizabeth Berst Luther.

He attended and graduated from Joliet Township High School and served in the United States Army Air Corp as a First Lieutenant from 1941 – 1945. He also served as a Major in the Air Force Reserve.

On Sept. 11, 1970 he married his wife in San Antonio, Texas. He worked in Civil Service as a logistic specialist.

The couple moved to Norman from Seminole in 1998. While in Seminole he was a member of the First Christian Church.

After retiring he traveled extensively with his wife and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman.

His parents and first wife, Evelyn O’Donnell Luther preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Beatrice, of the home; daughters, Jeanne Wangler of San Antonio, Texas and Nancy Roley of Norman; sister, Clemence Luther of Norman; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Shelby Lytle

Funeral services for newborn Shelby Lynn Lytle are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Strother Chapel, located inside Maple Grove Cemetery with Brent Hazelrigg officiating.

Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Lytle was born and died on July 12, 2007 at Dewitt Army Community Hospital in Ft. Belvior, Virginia to parents Jason and Renee (Culver) Lytle.

She is survived by her parents, SGT. Jason Lytle (former Seminole resident) and Renee (Culver) Lytle of Washington, D.C., and one sister, Rylie Lytle of Washington, D.C.

Julia Madden

Funeral services for Holdenville resident, Julia Victoria Jackson Madden, 93, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Hudson-Phillips Chapel with Shanny Taff officiating.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Madden died Wednesday, June 20, 2007. She was born Aug. 6, 1913 in Holdenville to Thomas Jackson and Ella Mae Stubblefield.

She married Ray Madden Feb. 24, 1932. She enjoyed fishing and spending time at Eufaula Lake.

Her parents, husband, brothers: JP, Hootsie, and Bill Jackson; sister, Jackie Fare; and one grandson preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Joann Linderman of Holdenville and Diana Langwell of Wewoka; brothers, Enos, Dean and Lindy Jackson; sisters: Betty Carter and Joella Freeman; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Audry Madole

Funeral services for longtime Cromwell resident, Audry Anna Madole were held at 2 p.m. today at the Parks Brothers Chapel in Okemah with Rev. Frank Young officiating and Rev. Dennis Yeubanks assisting.

Interment followed at Schoolton Cemetery under the direction of parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.

Madole died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 in Shawnee at the age of 94. She was born Feb. 14, 1913 in Seminole County to Thomas Calvin and Florence Myrtle (McGee) Kinslow.

On Nov. 12, 1932 she married Herman Franklin Madole in Wewoka and he preceded her in death in February of 1963.

Madole was a housewife who enjoyed cooking and working with ceramics and crafts.

Her parents, one daughter and one brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving is her son, Doy Madole of Mustang; one daughter, Jill Pruett of Choctaw; three brothers, Dale of Shawnee, Marvin of Terrell, Texas and Matt of Seminole; one sister, Juanita Collier of Okemah; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Chad Pruett, Gerry Klingbeil, Zachary Madole, Mitchell Madole, Loy Collier and Kenneth Kinslow.

Honorary bearers included Gary Kinslow, Larry Kinslow, John Wesley Kinslow and Danny Kinslow.

Patsy Ann Marsh

Funeral services for Tecumseh resident Patsy Ann (Colvin) Marsh will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh.

Chaplin James Hall will officiate.

Eastern Star Rites will be conducted.

A private family burial will follow at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Marsh passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007 in Tecumseh at the age of 67.

She was born Dec. 5, 1939 in Okmulgee to Kenneth Lee "Jack" and Maudie Marie (Snyder) Colvin.

She attended Wolf Grade School and graduated from Seminole High School. She attended Seminole Junior College.

In 1960 she married Paul Vernon Combs. They had two sons: James & Jeffrey Combs.

Paul preceded her in death May, 1976.

Patsy then attended Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Her nursing career included working as a Charge Nurse in local hospitals and nursing homes.

In 1991 she married Newell C. Marsh of Tecumseh.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, her grandparents and one great nephew.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Newell C. Marsh of the home; her sons: James Paul Combs of Tecumseh and Jeffrey Don Combs of Shawnee; step-son: Randolph L. Marsh and wife Ann, of Farmers Branch, Texas; step-daughter: Angela James and husband David, of Shawnee; brother-in-law: Charles L. Marsh of California; brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth "Sarg" and Mary Colvin of Seminole; sister and brother-in-law: Shirley and Hobart Roberts of Texas; and several grandchildren.

Patsy was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was twice past Worthy Matron of Tecumseh Chapter #30.
