COALGATE — Services for Ina Samuels, 98, Coalgate, are 2 p.m. today at Brown’s Funeral Service. She died May 6, 2005, at Coalgate.

TISHOMINGO — Services for Patricia Wright, 57, Tishomingo, were Saturday at Assembly of God Church. Burial followed at Tishomingo Cemetery. She died May 3, 2005, at Tishomingo.

ADA — Services for Randall Riggs, 56, Ada, are pending with Criswell Funeral Home. Mr. Riggs died Monday, May 9, 2005, at a local hospital.

ADA — Services for James Clayton “Jamey” Barker, II, 35, Ada, are 2 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Don Venable will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Stonewall.

Mr. Barker died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Ratliff City. He was born Jan. 9, 1970, at Ada to James and Donna Robertson Barker.

He attended school at Hayes Elementary and graduated from Stonewall High School. He attended East Central University and Pontotoc Technology Center in Ada.

He married Mary Lorraine Burdett Sept. 1, 2000, in Ada. Mr. Barker was an outside sales representative for Higgins and Sons Roof Truss in Tecumseh, and he was a member of Fittstown United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Barker, of the home; four sons, Matthew David Miller, Ada, Tyler James Hilliard, Sulphur, Jesse Robertson Barker, Ada, and Christopher Barker, Ada; one daughter, Jamie Isabelle Barker, Ada; his father, Jim Barker, Ada; a sister, Angie Barker, Ardmore.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Barker, on Nov. 30, 2001.

Bearers will be Mike Williamson, Roland Barrick, Bill Larney, Michael Manning, Mike Higgins and Wylie Underhill. Honorary bearers are Eldon Flinn, Jerry Henderson, Brian Smith, Jimmy Robertson and Mike Smith.

UNION VALLEY — Services for Malinda Lavey “Linda” Lance, 61, Union Valley, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Tony Buck officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Mrs. Lance died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Holdenville to Barney and Georgia Sharp Clifton. She attended Lillian’s Beauty School in Ada in 1966.

She married Ken Lance in 1994, at Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Lance was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Ken Lance, of the home; three daughters from her former husband of 23 years, Tommy Spears, Kim Ward, Ada, Tracey Morris, Sasakwa, and Casey Thomas and husband Trevor, Union Valley; nine grandchildren, Brandy White, Jami Ward, Stoney Ward, Ashly Ward, Kyle Moore, Sidney Morris, Zachery Morris, Kaleb and Kash Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Johnathon, Alissa and Madison White, and Trenton East; three brothers, Wayne Clifton and wife Jackie, Sasakwa, Jackie Blankenship and wife Debra, Holdenville, and Donnie Blankenship and wife Norma, Sasakwa; two sisters, Charlotte Johnson and husband Stewart, Byng, and Vickie Sweeden, Sasakwa.

Bearers will be Ricky Harjo, Billy Clifton, Richard Clifton, Norman Moore, Shane Blankenship, Shawn Blankenship, David Blankenship and John White. Honorary bearers will be Buddy Womack, Tony Womack, Ray Griffith, Corky Norman, Jimmy Harjo and Rocky Ward.

ODELL GREEN
ADA — Services for Odell Matilda Green, 86, Ada, are 1 p.m. Saturday at Philemon Baptist Church, Dr. C. R. Hill will officiate. Burial will follow at Red Rock Cemetery, four miles west of Byars.

Mrs. Green died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Oklahoma City. She was born Dec. 24, 1918, at Rosedale to Jack W. and Lilly Huntly Copeland. She attended school at Byars.

She married Sherman Green. He died in August 1998.

Mrs. Green was a housekeeper until her retirement, a member of Philemon Baptist Church in Ada and Tabernacle Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She was a volunteer at Jan Frances Nursing Home.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Lewis, Oklahoma City, Willa Patterson, Spencer, Geraldine Stephens, Oklahoma City, and Rosetta Geter, Oklahoma City; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Bearers will be Scotty Richardson, Keith Bruner, Don Williams, Barry Richardson, Nathaniel Green, and Earnest Spivey Jr..

OKLAHOMA CITY — Services for Ruby Mae Henry Burkhart, 93, Oklahoma City, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pickard Funeral Home Chapel, Stratford, officiated by the Rev. Bill Rea. Burial follows at McGee Cemetery, Stratford.

Mrs. Burkhart died April 29, 2005, at Okahoma City. She was born Feb. 22, 1912, in Forman, Ark., the fifth of 12 children born to William Benjamin and Sarah Elvira Reid Henry.

She lived most of her life at Stratford and was a beautician and member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher for more than 30 years.

She married Cecil Burkhart Nov. 5, 1947, at Stratford. He died July 30, 1996.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Henry; six brothers, Virgil Rector, Orville Otis, Walter Othal, Elias Hayes, Kelsey Oather and Warren Harold Henry; three sisters, Emma Ruth Henry, Delphia Edith Absher and Floy Nadine Offenbacher.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, William Plez and Berniece Henry, Oklahoma City; a sister and her husband, Mary Eunice and T.O. Phillips, Enid; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made in Mrs. Burkhart’s memory to First Baptist Church, 121 N. Oak, Stratford, OK 74872.

JAMES PAYNE

ARDMORE — Services for James D. Payne, 83, Ardmore, are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Jody Ham officiating. Burial follows at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Payne died April 30, 2005, at an Ada hospital. He was born March 11, 1922, at Healdton to B. and Gladys Harvey Payne.

He was a 1940 graduate of Ardmore High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School in 1949 and served two terms as state representative. He was Carter County’s attorney from 1958-1964 and retired as chief attorney from the Oklahoma Department of Transprotation legal division. He was a member of the Bar Assocation and past president.

He and Helen Segroves were married in 1941 in Hollywood, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Thomas, March 25, 2005.

Survivors include a son, Robert Payne and wife Teresa, Durant; a daughter, Jimmie Roberson and husband Max, Ada; a brother, Kenneth Payne and wife Virginia, Silver Spring, Md.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

WANDA POWELL

SULPHUR — Services for Wanda Claudine Powell, 87, are 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Sulphur. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She died April 30, 2005, at Gainesville, Fla.
