C.L. Patterson

Funeral services for longtime Konawa resident C.L. "Lynn" Patterson will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Konawa Assembly of God Church with Rev. Steve Lowrance officiating.

Interment will be at Vista Cemetery, west of Konawa. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Lynn Patterson went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at his residence in Konawa at the age of 71. He was born March 14, 1936 in Corn, Okla., to Lois A. and Lela F. (Bottom) Patterson.

He attended East Central University in Ada.

Lynn married Betty Lou (Glover) on Aug. 12, 1961 in Konawa.

He worked for O G & E Power Plant in Konawa and retired from there in 1994; and was a member of the Konawa Assembly of God Church.

His parents preceded him in death.

Lynn is survived by his wife Betty L. (Glover) Patterson of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherita and Don Robertson of Moore; one son and daughter-in-law, Deriek and Angel Patterson of Seminole; one sister and brother-in-law, Karen & Eugene O’Dell of Asher; and five grandchildren, Riley and Madison Robertson, Carter, Cooper and Ava Patterson.

Jimmy Patterson

A memorial service for longtime Wewoka resident Jimmy Wayne Patterson is planned for a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Jimmy Patterson passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 49. He was born on March 16, 1958 in Prague to James and Edna (Collins) Patterson.

He is survived by his mother and father of Wewoka; one daughter, Shirley Ann Sweet and husband Jim of Edmond; nephews, Brandon Street, Nick Sweet and wife Emily and Ian Sweet; two great nieces, Brianna and Bailey Sweet and one great nephew, Bradon Sweet.

In addition, uncles, Charles Patterson and wife Robin of Chandler, Richard Patterson and wife Cheryl of Chandler, J.S. Collins and wife Stella of Arkansas, and Billy Collins and wife Debbie of Arkansas; two special friends, Ruthie and Debbie of Oklahoma City; and numerous cousins, and other special family and friends also survive him.

Sondra Patterson

Services for Snowmac native Sondra Sue (Debo-Richards) Patterson are to be planned at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park of Lakewood, Wash.

Patterson, 72, of Tacoma, Wash., died Friday, June 15, 2007 at her home. She was born Oct. 17, 1934 in Snomac (Seminole County) to Charles W. Debo and Sybil Ealey, according to information obtained from the death certificate.

According to her daughter, she was a high school graduate, was raised in the Maud area and in 1952 she married Garnet Dean Richards and to this union six children were born.

For the past 30 years she has lived in the Tacoma, Wash., area and was married to Austin E. Patterson.

Her parents; three sisters, Bessie Dinwiddie, Juanema De-Lo and Charlene Walker; one son, Garnet Allan Richards; three granddaughters and one grandson preceded her in death.

Surviving are two brothers, Arron and David De-Lo, both of Texas; one daughter, Brenda "Diane" Davis of Seminole; three sons, William Floyd (Billy) Richards Cushing, David Lynn Richards of Stillwater and Ronnie Richards of Cushing; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Pattison

Graveside services for Holdenville resident Kenneth Carl "Butch" Pattison were held today at 11 a.m. at Holdenville Cemetery with Rev. Larry Thoma officiating.

Rev. Jason Yarbrough officiated the burial and services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.

Pattison died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at the age of 69. He was born Feb. 9, 1938 to Pat and Merle Collins Pattison.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran and member of the Wewoka Lighthorsemen Roundup Club.

His hobbies include roping, fishing, searching for arrowheads and fighting chickens.

His parents and brother, Jug, preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Ann Pattison of the home; children, Kenny Pattison and Rob Pattison, both of Holdenville, and Flint Pattison of Dodge City, Kan., Nova Gillock of Union City and Andy Pattison of Holdenville; sister, Teresa Browning of Holdenville and 17 grandchildren.

Angela Paul

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Angela Dawn (Brown) Paul are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in Stigler, Okla. under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home.

Angie passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born Oct. 14, 1966 in Ada.

She completed school and graduated from Seminole and married Johnny Paul of McCurtain, Okla.

She has three daughters, Suzie, Christina and Ashlea Burriage and one grandson, Tyson Lee, all of McCurtain.

Her father, Benny Brown of Seminole; mother, Billie Johnson (Brown) of Seminole; one sister, Marchetta Hurt from Keota, Okla.; three brothers, Bennie Brown of Seminole, Dewayne Brown of Ada and Neil Brown of McAlester; one stepsister, Stephanie Walker of Wewoka; two stepbrothers, Dereck Walker and Jeremy Johnson, both of Holdenville; stepfather, Anthony Johnson of Seminole; three step-nieces and nephews, lots of cousins, uncles and aunts survive her.

Angie will be deeply missed.

Bobbie Payne

Graveside services for Holdenville resident, Bobbie O’Kelly Payne, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Holdenville Cemetery with Rev. Meredith Robinson officiating.

Burial is under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.

Payne, 65, died Sunday, March 11, 2007. She was born Aug. 9, 1941 in Tulare, Calif., to Robert and Thelma Hale Cox.

She graduated from high school in Tulare and came to Oklahoma in 1999.

Her parents, husband, Isaac Payne, sister, Joyce Leeland and one son, Ronald O’Kelly preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Sharon Jay; son, Travis O’Kelly; ex-husband, Vernon O’Kelly; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ricky Cox and sisters, Roseley Starr, Barbara Whaley, Glenda LaCombe and Donna Fenton.

Pallbearers for the services will be Chad Claborn, Cecil Elkins, Charles LaCombe, Val Harmon, Westley Rowe and Daren O’Kelly.

Paul Payne

A military memorial service for Wewoka graduate Paul Dean Payne is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 in the service shelter at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.

Cremation was under the direction of Abell Funeral Home, Abernathy, Texas.

Payne, 69 of Pensacola, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on Dec. 22, 1937 in Wasco, Calif., to George Leo Payne and Elsie (Davis) Payne.

He lived in Pensacola for over 30 years and served his country through an extensive career with the United States Marine Corps.

Payne earned the rank of Major and served three tours of duty in Vietnam, during which time he flew helicopters and planes and taught flying lessons. He was also an avid sailor.

His father and sister, Cora Anderson, preceded him in death.

Surviving him is his mother of Okemah; four sons, Rev. Mike O’Donnell of Abernathy, Texas, Air Force Staff Sgt. Jason Payne of Destin, Fla., Chris Payne of Spavinaw, Okla., and John Macfie of Charlestown, S.C.; daughter, Timilyn Ramaker of Spavinaw; two brothers, John Payne of Tulsa and Pete Payne of Amherst, Texas and six grandchildren.

Arch Perry

Funeral services for former Bowlegs student Arch E. Perry were held in San Mateo, Calif.

Perry, 68, died Friday, January 12, 2007 in Belmont, Calif., of complications resulting from Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Ada on April 23, 1938, and spent most of his youth in Oklahoma and Southern California.

He earned his engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma before going to work in California.

He was a civil engineer, like his father and paternal grandfather, who worked on irrigation projects in the Imperial Valley and in the oil fields of Oklahoma.

He served as a San Mateo city employee for 25 years and ran the San Mateo Public Works department from 1990 to 2000.

Perry also worked as a structural engineer for the state of California and was chief engineer on the San Mateo Creek Bridge.

He was active in several charitable organizations and helped found the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California.

Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Lois, of the Belmont home; daughters, Kim Chief Elk of Belmont and Leslie Goldstein of El Cerrito and four grandchildren.

Bonnie Petit

Funeral services for Bowlegs resident Bonnie Ikard Petit are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Martin officiating.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Petit, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 in Shawnee. He was born Sept. 20, 1929 in Archer, Texas to George Washington Petit and Eartis (Darsard) Petit.

On Oct. 10, 1953 he married Joyce Foster in Archer City, Texas. He moved to Seminole 40 years ago from California and was a self-employed truck driver.

He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC-1st Class and was a member of the Maud Assembly of God Church.

Surviving is his wife of the home; son, Jimmy W. Petit of Pottsboro, Texas; daughter, Sherrie L. Griffith of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Robert Andrew Petit and C.W. Petit; five sisters: Ruby Hopkins, Rachel Henry, Melinda Jane Neihols, Corine Bettencourt and Lena Dee Overboy; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Norma Pinley

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Norma Lea Pinley will be a private family service with arrangements under the direction of Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso.

Pinley, 78, of Owasso, died Saturday, July 28, 2007. She was born Feb. 9, 1929 in Purcell, Mo., to Lee L. and Inis (Vogt) Wyatt.

She was raised and received her education in both Missouri and Oklahoma.

On July 24, 1945 she married Hugh Pinley and to this union two children were born. The couple made their home in Seminole for several years before moving to Tulsa.

Pinley was an office manager for Palace Office Supply for many years, retiring in the late 1990’s. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework.

Her parents, husband, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Pat Bass of Owasso; one son, Mike Pinley of Broken Arrow; one stepdaughter, Terri Moss of Verdigris; one stepson, John Pinley of Broken Arrow; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one foster grandchild.
