Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Frank Revas, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Kriss Haymes and Rev. Robert Kernal will officiate the service and the Seminole Nation Honor Guard will provide the military honors.
Interment is to follow at the Revas Family Cemetery, located two miles south of Seminole, three-quarters mile west and one and one-half mile south, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Revas, 75 of Tulsa, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in Tulsa. He was born in Seminole to Ina Lee (Noska) and Earnest Revas.
He grew up in the Seminole/Wewoka area and attended Bowlegs High School.
Revas served in the United States Army where he earned the National Defense Service Medal.
On July 31, 1954 he married Geneva Owens in a chapel on Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington.
He moved to Tulsa in 1956 with his family and worked for over 30 years for Affiliated Foods as a truck driver.
His father; mother, Ina Lee Revas-Wind and one brother, Thomas Revas preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife, Geneva of the home; three daughters, Frances Shives of Tulsa, Belinda Koch of Grand Prairie, Texas and LaDonna Laughlin of Tulsa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers for the services will be Lance Revas, Gary Revas, Dennis Laughlin, Ronnie Shives, Neal Koch and Brian Doll.
Honorary bearers will be Mark Revas, Justin Revas, Dustin Revas and Philip Doll.
John Richardson
Longtime Seminole resident and beloved oilman John Dean Richardson passed away on Jan. 15, 2007 at the age of 77.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1930 in Waurika to Claude and Hazel (Thompson) Richardson.
He married Karen Posey Richardson in 1976 in Ft. Smith, Ark.
John was a graduate of Waurika High School. He served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Bermuda for four years as a sergeant and a Hurricane Hunter.
John moved to Seminole from Duncan where he retired from Halliburton Services.
In June of 1974, John started working in this area for W. H. Kopezynski of Ada as a company man for his oil production company, Texhoma Oil and Gas.
In 1978 John started working for Tommy Eeds of Seminole at his company, Seminole Acid.
Shortly afterwards John and Tommy formed Apollo Oil Tools.
In 1981 John bought Apollo Oil Tools from Tommy and continues to operate in Letha, Oklahoma with his son, Matt Cone and son-in-law, Mike Baxter.
John was a member of the Harvey Road Baptist Church, Seminole Elks Lodge and a former Maud City Council member where he lived in Maud for 23 years, prior to moving to Seminole eight years ago.
John loved playing poker, buying and selling oilfield equipment and spending quality time with his family and especially his grandkids.
John is survived by his loving wife Karen Richardson of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kelly Richardson of Plano, Texas, Dusty and Tammy Gaff of Jett, and Matt and Dutchess Cone of Wewoka; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shawn and Mike Baxter of Seminole and Vicki and Sam Brimer of Ardmore; four sisters, Opal Ward of Saginaw, Texas, Mildred Porter of Clute, Texas, Helen Edwards of Waurika, and Mary and husband Ron Penny of Duncan.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amy Brimer, Josh Brimer, Jennifer Richardson, Jason Richardson, Dakota Gaff, Cheyanne Gaff, Chris Richardson, Collin Cone, and Caleb Cone, as well as a host of other family and friends.
His parents precede him in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Wade Robertson officiating.
Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at Waurika Cemetery, Waurika.
Pallbearers will be Tim Edwards, Randy Edwards, Robby Whitefield, Tommy King, David Brown and Mark Childress.
Honorary bearers will be Ralph Jones, Wink Kopezynski, Nick Johnson, Ronnie Conner, Kenneth Stalnaker, Larry Clements and Jessy Pierce.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007 for visitation at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
J.A. Riley
Services for Seminole resident J.A. Riley will be Monday, with burial at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City and a 2 p.m. memorial service at the Church of Christ in Seminole.
Lyndal Werner and Barry Hupp will be officiating with services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
J. A. Riley, 87, passed away, Thursday, June 28, 2007 in Shawnee. Mr. Riley was born Feb. 14, 1920 in Wetumka to Grover Cleveland and Mae (Bankston) Riley.
Mr. Riley met and married Glenda Prevett on March 29, 1944 at the Church of Christ in Henryetta. Mrs. Glenda Riley survives him of the home in Seminole.
Mr. Riley started his oilfield career in Seminole with B S & B Tank Co., where he worked for five years.
He then entered the United States Coast Guard, as a Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class and served during World War II. After the war Mr. Riley went to work for Halliburton Company in 1950.
Mr. Riley worked for 32 years and retired in 1982, he was the sales manager for the State of Oklahoma when he retired. He also worked with the men at Clay Crossing Treatment Center in Maud.
Mr. Riley was a member of the Church of Christ in Seminole and prior to that he was a member of the Henryetta Church of Christ for 17 years where he served as an Elder of the church.
Mr. Riley is survived by his wife, Glenda Riley of the home in Seminole; one son and daughter in law, Jim and Robin of Edmond; daughter-in-law, Kerry Riley of Oklahoma City; one brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Bessie Riley of San Diego, Calif.; two granddaughters, Marcie Bazor and her husband Tim and Haley Perry and her husband and three great-grandchildren, Charli Bazor, Elisha and Blake Allan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Allan Riley who died in 2004 and his grandson Blake Riley who died in 1989.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jim Riley Outreach Inc., 2201 Cardinal Drive, Edmond, OK 73013. Monies received will go to scholarships at Clay Crossing.
Carolyn Robbins
A private memorial will be held at a later date for Seminole native Carolyn Robbins.
Carolyn passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 66. She was born on Jan. 29, 1941 in Seminole to Pete and Babe Grisso.
Her father; sister, Dorothy Gouker; and niece, Stacey Myers, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her mother; two sisters, Margorie Iafoon and Linda Jarrell; one brother, Gary Grisso; three sons, Allen Grisso, Craig Brown, and Mike Wilson; three grandsons, Allen and Brian Grisso and Matthew Brown; and two granddaughters, Sarah Brown and Lacey Wainwright.
Verna Robbins
Funeral services for Verna Robbins will be held at Stout Funeral Home in Wewoka at 11a.m. on Wednesday, with interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka.
Rev. Bruce Benson will be officiating with services under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Verna Robbins was accepted into the arms of her Lord on Aug. 26, 2007 surrounded by her family and the staff of Wewoka Nursing Center.
Verna was born on May 13, 1904 in Golden, Miss., to Silas D. White and Emily Ophelia Hale-White.
She came to Seminole County at the age of five and has lived in the area for the majority of her life. She received her initial education in Maud and Sasakwa and graduated from Normal School (College) in Ada.
In 1924, Verna married Thomas W. Chambers at the Sasakwa Methodist Church. She had two children in this marriage. After only six years of marriage, Thomas W. Chambers died.
To support her sons, Verna held various jobs including telegraph operator and working on her parent’s farm picking cotton. In 1935, Verna married Clarence Allen Robbins in Wewoka, at the 1st Assembly of God Church. Verna and Clarence had a total of 10 children.
She returned to college and received her teaching degree at East Central University. After graduation, Verna went to Wichita, Kan., and taught for a year only to return to Oklahoma to teach at Wewoka Public Schools through her retirement in the early 1970’s.
During this time, she was a teacher to hundreds of local students at various levels. She has influenced the lives of community youth for a number of years.
During her life she was active in numerous organizations, which included a lifetime membership to Rebecca Assembly of Oklahoma where she was honored as Past Noble Grand in 1982. She was a member of Seminole County Education Association; Retired Teacher’s Association; Oklahoma Education Association; and the National Educator’s Association.
She continued to obtain her Master’s degree and completed her dissertation for a PhD from East Central University.
Her husbands, Thomas W. Chambers of Sasakwa and Clarence A. Robbins of Wewoka, preceded her in death. Departed siblings include Ellery D. White, Octo Zee White, Everett White, Lenny Mae White, Omar Zee White, Olivia Shorter, Lerah Deatrice Chambers, and Finas White. Verna’s children, Ralph and Virginia Robbins, are also deceased.
Surviving family members include one brother, Silas D. White of Oklahoma City and eight children: John P. Chambers of Oklahoma City, Tommy L. Chambers of Wewoka, Lloyd A. Robbins of Oregon, Linda Mallard of Oklahoma City, Ward A. Robbins of Texas, Leon G. Robbins of Oklahoma City, Orville M. Robbins of Wisconsin, Clara Mae Parks of California.
Verna leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
Verna held a fundamental belief that hard work, education, and faith in God will lead you through any life challenge. Her influence to the lives of her family, and others, will never be forgotten.
Pallbearers include Jim Mallard, Danny White, Gerald Chambers, Robert Carey, Jackie Nuckols, and Tye Mallard.
The family wishes to thank Wewoka Nursing Center for their kindness shown to our loved one. Special appreciation goes to Frances Chambers, Suzie Chambers, and Linda Mallard for their personal devotion to Verna’s life care.

Jean Roberts
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Jean Brady Roberts are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Pence officiating.
Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Jean, 88, passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 in Oklahoma City. She was born April 10, 1918 in Keifer, Okla. to F.C. "Pete" and Vera (Snodgrass) Clark.
Jean met and married Martin Brady in 1936 in Ardmore and he preceded her in death in 1958.
She was employed as an administrative assistant for the Oklahoma dept. of Human Services for 20 years. Upon her retirement, she moved back to her home in Seminole and lived there until her death.
She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Seminole. A member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, she was active in several bridge clubs.
Jean was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be missed by all her family and her friends.
Her parents, husband and a sister, Virginia Buck, preceded her in death.
Jean is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Darryll and Nancy Brady of Powderly, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Roy Hughey of Yukon; four grandsons, Matt and Paul Brady and David and Brian Hughey and eight great-grandchildren.
One brother, Charles Clark of Edmond, also survives her.
Anna Robertson
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Anna Martha Robertson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Brewer and Rev. Tom Newell officiating.
Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery in Seminole County.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Robertson, 49, died on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 at Norman Regional Hospital. She was born on Aug.19, 1958 in Aurora, Colo., to Hyatt and Patricia Ann (Stewart) Cayton.
On Jan. 12, 1996 she married Felix Ray Robertson; he survives her of the home.
She was a sewing operator at Wrangler for several years. She attended the Heartland Family Church in Seminole.
Her grandson and one sister Ruth M. Harris (Nov. 2003), precedes her in death.
She is survived by her parents, Hyatt and Patricia Cayton of Seminole; two daughters, Meagan M. Robertson of Tulsa and Jessica R. Robertson of Shawnee; and one brother, Hyatt J. Cayton of Seminole.
Pallbearers will be: Tommy Robertson, II, Randy Lehman, Mike Brown, Eric Douthit, Hyatt J. Cayton and Phil Harris.
