Funeral services for longtime Konawa resident Dickie Gerald Robertson are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Konawa with Mitch Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Robertson died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 in Konawa at the age of 62. He was born July 13, 1945 in Konawa to Alfred Wesley Robertson and Nettie Lee (Goss) Robertson.
He was the youngest of nine children and he attended Summers Chapel Elementary in Konawa and graduated from Vamoosa High School.
Robertson later attended East Central University in Ada.
While in high school, Robertson began working in the oilfield with his father and brothers, and later drove a tank truck.
On Jan. 28, 1967 he married Nelletta Kay Bailes and they had two children, Richard Elliott and Kristal Kathleen.
Robertson moved to Lubbock, Texas and began working in the insurance industry. He was an agent for Allstate Insurance Company and earned the honor of "million dollar" sales person.
Due to illness, he retired from the insurance business in 1984 and moved back to Konawa in 1989.
He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed talking to anyone who would listen.
His parents; his daughter; and one brother, Herman Robertson preceded him in death.
Surviving is his son of Norman; three brothers, Alfred "Nug" Robertson Jr. and Arnold Robertson, both of Konawa, and Keith Robertson of Okemah; and four sisters, Willa Deen Wall of Harrah, Billie Collins of Shawnee, LaQuita Huckleberry and Jerry Lemmings, both of Konawa.
The family members will be serving as casket bearers.
LaVada Robertson
Graveside services for lifelong Seminole County resident LaVada M. Robertson were held at 1:30 p.m. today at Wolf Cemetery with Rev. Steve Cline officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Robertson, 81, died Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born Sept. 10, 1925 in Seminole to Thomas Bankhead Robertson and Arlice (Fowler) Robertson.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Her parents, three brothers, Ed, Pat and R.V. Robertson and three sisters, Earlene King, Delores Boyle and Jewel Franklin, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her special niece and caregiver, Kay Azlin of Wewoka; sister-in-law, Frances Robertson of Seminole and great-niece, Kiley Azlin of Seminole.
Lois Robertson
Funeral services for longtime Maud resident Lois Robertson, 67, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud. Rev. Carl Johnson and Joe Hibbs will officiate.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.
Lois passed from this life on June 1, 2007 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Oct. 17, 1939 in Cloud Chief, Okla., to parents Virgil Celes Cox and Martha Alice (Lemmons) Cox.
Lois was a member of the Church of Christ. She had worked as a in home care provider for the elderly. Lois loved to show off photos of her grandchildren and great grandbaby.
Her parents and one sister, Lena Faye Copeland, precede Lois in death.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eugene and Raydonna Robertson of Maud and C.V. Robertson of Mustang; three brothers, J.F. Cox of Brush Prarie, Wash., Loye Gene Cox of Oklahoma City, and a twin brother, Loyal Cox of Dibble, Okla., and three sisters, Eva Jackson of Lone Oak, Texas, Lucille Bryant of Jay, Fla., and Leta Novotny of Okemah.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Trevor and Taylor Robertson of Mustang, Derick Robertson of Maud and Erica and Stephen Grimes of Maud; one great grandchild, Amos Matthew Grimes of Maud, and a host of other family and dear friends.
Mattie Robertson
Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Mattie Lou (Hudson) Robertson were held today at 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Konawa, with Rev. Michael Vallandingham and Joe Sharber II officiating.
Interment followed at Dora Cemetery with arrangement under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Mattie passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at Integris Seminole Medical Center at the age of 90. She was born Jan.13, 1917 in Dora, Okla., to Arvel Boyd and Lola Ida (Conn) Hudson.
On Oct.13, 1934 Mattie married Rube Robertson in Holdenville, and to this union one daughter, Ruby Lucille was born.
Mattie work for Blue Bell in Seminole for several years and also helped her husband in his mechanic shop for several years doing bookkeeping and other various duties. She was a long-time member of Vamoosa Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rube on June 28, 1986; four brothers, Oscar, Clarence, Alvie and Roy Hudson; four sisters, Minnie Shirley, Sally Johnson, Viola Ramsey and Naomi McGinnis; infant brother, Arthur Hudson and two stillborn siblings.
She is survived by one daughter, Ruby Robertson and her husband Arnold of Konawa; two grandchildren, Les Robertson and his wife Shelley of Purcell, Okla., and Don Robertson and his wife Sherita of Moore; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jessica Robertson and Riley and Madison Robertson and a host of other family and friends.
Marilyn Roden
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Marilyn Elaine Roden are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Konawa with Rev. Mona Faulks officiating.
Interment is to follow at Konawa Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Marilyn Elaine (Sherwood) Roden died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 evening, at her residence at the age of 52. She was born on Aug. 6, 1954 in Konawa to J.D. and Faye (Finch) Sherwood.
She married John Roden and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1999. She later married Danny J. Page on Dec. 22, 2003 in Lawton.
Marilyn was a loving homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Konawa.
Surviving are her parents, J.D. and Faye Sherwood of Konawa; husband, Danny J. Page of the home; one sister, Janet Yott and her husband Ken of Konawa; father-in-law, Richard Page of Duncan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Sherry Page of Duncan; two nieces, Breanne Yott and Samantha Yott and a host of other family and friends.
Donna Rogers
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident, Donna Sue Rogers, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford Funeral Home, Midwest City.
Rev. Freeman Whitlock and Rev. Leroy Hatfield will be officiating with interment graveside at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka.
Local services will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Donna, age 54, departed this life, Sunday, April 22, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 22, 1952 in Oklahoma City to Jack and Nona (Campbell) Dearing.
She graduated from Wewoka High School and attended East Central University for two years.
Prior to her illness she worked for Bruckners & C.L. Boyd as a clerical secretary. Donna loved crafts, crocheting, sewing and her two dogs, Buddy and Barney.
Her father preceded her in death.
Surviving Donna is her mother, Nona Dearing of Wewoka; her husband, Kraig Rogers of Oklahoma City; son, Ryan Hutchison and wife, Linda, of McAlester; daughter, Teresa Rowlan and husband, Terry, of Mustang; grandsons, Nathan and Kamden Hutchison, and Chase Rowlan; granddaughter, Alyssa Rowlan; stepchildren, April Rogers, Joel Rogers and wife Monica and Jacinta Rogers; step-grandson, Austin Rogers; brothers, David and wife, Carolyn, of Wewoka and Dan Dearing and wife, Linda, of Seminole; and numerous other relatives and friends of the Wewoka area.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be sent to Hillcrest Living Center in Moore.
Perry Roulston
Funeral services for longtime Konawa resident Perry D. Roulston are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Konawa with Ed George officiating.
Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Perry D. Roulston, 75, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 9, 1931 in Vamoosa to Zachary Taylor Roulston and Lessie Nora (Baker) Roulston.
Perry enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 20 years. He attained the rank of Tech Sergeant and retired in 1967.
He later went to work for OG&E and worked there for 10 years in the 1970's.
Perry was a cattle rancher and farmer and was also associated with the oil industry.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada and the Masonic Lodge in Blair, OK.
Perry married Patsy (Scroggin) on June 22, 1957 in Konawa. She survives him of the home.
He is also survived by one son, Robert Roulston of Konawa; one daughter, Lori Hill of McAlester; six brothers, Hiram Roulston of Sasakwa, Tony Roulston of Sasakwa, Dale Roulston of Oklahoma City, Doyle Roulston of Yukon, Dempsey Roulston of Shawnee and Hardy Roulston of Edmond; one grandson, Westin Anthony Poe and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ryan Russell, Zeb Kuestersteffen, Steve Flora, Jack Gorczyca, Russell Yott, Jason Yott, Russell Bolen and Ray Roskopf. Honorary bearers will be his Sunday School Class.
Noma Rounsaville
Funeral services for lifelong Konawa area resident, Noma Maxine (Mosley) Rounsaville, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Konawa.
Rev. Grady Roundtree and Rev. Cary Tipton will officiate with burial to follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Maxine passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007 at her residence in Konawa, at the age of 81. She was born July 6, 1925 in Bristow to Washington Clarence, Sr. and Mirtie Lee (Risenhoover) Mosley.
She was born the 4th of 15 children and was the eldest daughter. Maxine was vital in helping her parents take care of her siblings.
Maxine was a loving provider for the elderly and a member of the Konawa Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by two sons, Jackie Charles Rounsaville and his wife, Judy, of Henderson, Nev., and Mayor Bobby Joe Rounsaville and his wife, LaMona, of Konawa; four brothers, Floyd Mosley of Oregon, Lloyd Mosley of Konawa, Leon Mosley of Wewoka and Bill Mosley of Denton, Texas and two sisters, Ellen Satterwhite of Spencer and Sue Amundson of Del City.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Roger and Shawna Rounsaville of Yukon, Amy Rounsaville of Seymore, Tenn., Tambra and Daniel Merchant of Stonewall, Okla., Russell Rounsaville of Yukon, Barbie Rounsaville of Konawa and Lance and Stephanie Rounsaville of El Reno; 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Her parents; five brothers, William Cleo Mosley, Ralph Lee Mosley, Jack Edward Mosley, William Clarence Mosley Jr., and Ellis Eldon Mosley and three sisters, Evelyn Marie Mosley Harms and infants, Lorene and Florene Mosley, preceded her in death.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Roger Rounsaville, Russell Rounsaville, Lance Rounsaville, Roy Hicks, Levi Moore and Tristan Wood.
Honorary bearers will be: Gareth Wood, Noah Merchant and Ian Merchant.
