Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Mary Louise Ryles will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka with Rev. Amanda B.P. Lockwood officiating.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mary Louise Harrison Ryles passed away at her home on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the age of 88. She was born on May 28, 1919 in Wapanucka, Okla., to Marvin and Donnie Harrison.
Mary was raised in Wapanucka and graduated from Wapanucka High School in 1937. She was the youngest of eight children.
On April 1, 1946 Mary married Harry Edward Ryles in Kentucky. They were married for 50 years. Harry preceded her in death in 1996.
Mary worked along side her husband in their parts supply business, G&R Supply Co., for 30 years. After their retirement they loved traveling the country in their R.V.
Mary was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Wewoka First United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
She was a member of the Dahlia Garden Club, United Methodist Women, and a past leader of the Bluebirds and Campfire.
Mary was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Because f that love and devotion, her family was devoted to her, and was with her when she went to be with her heavenly Father.
Her parents; husband; four brothers, Clyde, Thurston, Raymond and Charles Harrison; two sisters, Morea Harrison and Lucille Claiborne and one son-in-law, Gary Norman, preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her daughters, June and husband Al Penton of Norco, Calif., Mary Ann and the late Gary Norman of Wewoka, Susan Ware of Dallas, Texas and Linda and husband Patrick Miner of Yukon, Okla.; one sister, Doris Faulkenberry of Coalgate; grandchildren, Lisa and Jack Johnson of Norco, Calif., Kim and Brad Childers of Ada, Keri and Aaron Brinkley of Yukon, Scott and Wendy Ware of Dallas, Texas, Brad and Angie Norman of Holdenville, Trent Miner of Yukon, Brock and Jenni Miner of Yukon; great-grandchildren, Price, Kara and Wade Johnson, Spencer and Sarah Kate Childers, Taylor, Cole and Trinity Brinkley, Cooper Ware, Blayne, Baylie, Emma and Eyan Norman and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Leonard Saffa
Memorial services for longtime Seminole resident Leonard Tony Saffa are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Father Basil Keenan officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Leonard passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center at the age of 86. He was born Sept. 10, 1921 in Drumright to Tony George Saffa and Slebeya "Stella" (Saleba) Saffa.
He moved to Seminole from Drumright in 1926 and attended Seminole Schools, graduating in May 1940.
In September 1940, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and attended Officers’ Candidate School and was commissioned to a 2nd Lt. In the Field of Artillery in 1943.
He served overseas in France and Germany during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1950 with the rank of 1st Lt.
Leonard worked for the Veteran’s Administration for 10 years and served as Superintendent of the Veteran’s Hospital in Ardmore for two years. He was also a V.A. service officer for the eastern part of Oklahoma for several years.
He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole and was an active member of the Seminole Lions Club and had served as City Clerk of Seminole for three years.
Leonard was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
His parents; two brothers, Richard T. Saffa and Edgar T. Saffa; two sisters, Mary T. Spencer and Josephine T. Davis; and several nieces and nephews, preceded Leonard in death.
He will be greatly missed by Matthew Villines and Jacob Swearingen, who he considered his grandsons, and also by his longtime friend and companion, Alpha Swearingen; his goddaughter, Linda Swearingen; Toby ad Kellye Swearingen, John and Nancy Villines and Tom and Espi Swearingen.

Leonard Saffa
A second memorial service for longtime Seminole resident Leonard Tony Saffa is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Seminole, with Father Basil Keenan officiating. A master violinist will provide music.
Leonard passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center at the age of 86. He was born Sept. 10, 1921 in Drumright to Tony and Stella Saffa.
He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole and was an active member of the Seminole Lions Club and had served as City Clerk of Seminole for three years.
Leonard was never married and had no children or stepchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He had many gifts as a person and was an outstanding cook, exceptional gardener, and an expert at speaking to large groups or one-on-one. This natural ability to teach and explain things in a kind and gentle manner touched many lives.
He was truly a gentleman and scholar and will be truly missed by all of his family.
His parents; two brothers, Richard T. Saffa and Edgar T. Saffa; two sisters, Mary T. Spencer and Josephine T. Davis; and several nieces and nephews including Jim Spencer, preceded Leonard in death.
Leonard’s surviving family members include: nieces and nephews, Gregory Saffa, Shonna Saffa and Rene Saffa, all of Great Bend, Kan., and Elizabeth (Spencer) Bartos of Seminole; grandnieces and nephews, Deana Kay Khanagan, Theresa Miner, Michael E. Meyers and Jerry L. Hause Jr.; great-grandnieces and nephews, Tiffani Diane Miner, Jeremy Miner, Michael E. Lane, Kayla Meyer and Shawn Hause; and great-great grandnieces and nephews, Taylor Keener, Tristin Miner and J.C. Miner.
The many veterans that Leonard helped are sincerely welcome to attend the service.

Fred Sanders
Graveside services for longtime Wewoka resident Fred Sanders are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Charles Troglin officiating.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Fred passed away Monday, April 30, 2007 in Wewoka, at the age of 85 years. He was born April 11, 1922 in Wetumka to Jim and Eliza Jane (Page) Sanders.
He attended CC Camp reading, writing and math school, earning his certification of completion.
Fred belonged to the Coon Hunters Association as a former leader. He enjoyed walking downtown and around the football field in Wewoka.
He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch and telling stories to his family.
Fred and Estell Jayce were married July 19, 1940 in Wewoka and he worked as a roughneck in the oilfields.
His parents; brothers, Nathan, Johnny and Dewey and sisters, Virgie Earl, Bernice McCallan, Cassie Boland and Edna Hatcher, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife, Estell of the home; daughters, Sue Smith and Linda Sanderson and husband Larry, all of Wewoka; sons, Alvie Sanders of Cromwell and Rita and husband Victor Orr of Choctaw; grandsons, Johnny Orr, Mark sanders, Todd Sanders, Rusty Smith and Mitch Smith; granddaughters, Cindy Nix, Andi Hair, Christy Weaver, Amy Brannan and Kim Paris; 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Mat Sandridge
Graveside services for lifelong Seminole County resident Mat Lee Sandridge are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Wichita, Kan.
Rev. Earnest Rhodes of Waterman Church of Christ, Wichita, is to officiate.
Services are under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Wewoka.
Sandridge, 76 of Wewoka, died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at Elwood Nursing Home, wewoka. He was born Sept. 4, 1930 in Wewoka to Clarence Sandridge and Lucy Noble Sandridge.
He attended school in Wewoka and worked as a cook.
His parents, one sister, Clarissa Flemings and one brother, Robert Sandridge, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his sister, Senoria Black.
Patricia Savage
Graveside services for Seminole resident Patricia Mae (Lewis) Savage are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Savage, 77, died Tuesday, June 6, 2007 at Unity Health Center in Shawnee. She was born Dec. 26, 1929 in Cordova, Ill. to parents Howard John Lewis and Estella Marry (Hansen) Lewis.
She moved to Seminole in 2006 from California.
Her parents and two sons preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Raymond Savage, Sr. of Seminole and Gary Savage; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Donna Scheele
Graveside services for Seminole native Donna Sue Scheele are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dale Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.
Scheele, 66 of Ada, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in Ada. She was born in Seminole on May 19, 1941 to Troy and Dora Bell Ham Pittman.
She lived in Williston, N.D., from 1951 until 2002, and then moved to Ada. She was employed with K-Mart until her retirement.
Her father and daughter, Brenda Scheele, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlene Dignan and husband Jim of Maple Grove, Minn., and Laura Ulin of Casa Grande, Ariz.; her mother, Dora Pittman of Ada; one brother, Jim Pittman and wife Danette of Ada; sister, Glenda Groethe of Ada; grandchildren, Matthew Dignan, Christopher Dignan, Heather Witliff, Lydia Root, Michael Scheele, and Rhiannon Willert; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Ella, Michael and Cadence; and three nieces and one nephew.
Bessie Scott
Services for Seminole resident Bessie Mae Scott will be held Saturday at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Seminole. The chapel is located at the east side of the church. The proceedings will begin at 11 a.m.
Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ardmore beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Bessie Mae Scott of Seminole went to be with her Lord Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 surrounded by a loving family and with the prayers of countless friends.
Bessie Mae (Bess) was born Aug. 1, 1922, in San Antonio, Texas to Clyde Lee and Bessie Mae (Lang) Morrison.
She grew up in Texas, and following high school moved to Ardmore, Okla., where she met and married Earl Scott. They had one daughter, Janice Kay.
The family moved to New Orleans, La., in 1952, returning to Oklahoma in 1960. Bess spent the rest of her life in this state – living in Ardmore, Oklahoma City, and finally, Seminole where she made her home over the past seventeen years.
She was currently a resident at Seminole Estates Nursing Home. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Seminole.
Bess loved reading, animals and the company of friends and loved ones. She was known as a dedicated and tireless worker, retiring from Hyde Drug in Oklahoma City after a 20-year career in cosmetics.
She was compassionate and concerned for the well being of others, and was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed, but her memory serves to comfort and inspire all those she loved.
Her mother and father, and brother Cecil Morrison preceded Bess in death.
She is survived by her brother Colonel Clyde Lee Morrison, Jr. (ret.), of San Antonio; daughter Janice and husband Glen Carrell of Seminole; grandchildren; Ted Carrell of Eufaula, Sandy and husband Jeffrey Dismukes of Norman, and Chris and Tracy Carrell of Seminole; and great-grandchildren; Tony Gamble, Garison Carrell, Beau Dismukes and Chandler Carrell.
