Funeral services for Konawa native Charles "Bud" Snider, the brother of Wewoka resident Floyd Snider, Sr., are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.
A time has not yet been determined for the services.
Burial will immediately follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park.
Snider died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2007 in Plano, Texas, at the age of 76.
He was born to Grady and Lillie Snider on Feb. 9, 1931 in Konawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Irene Prewitt and Imogene Farris.
Snider is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Manley and Mary Monroe, both of Shawnee; two brothers, Grady Snider, Shawnee and Floyd Snider, Sr., Wewoka; three daughters, Noma Epperson, Shawnee, Carolyn Busby, and Susan Lokey, both of McKinney, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Joe Snider, Jr
A private memorial service for former Wewoka resident Joe Cephas Snider, Jr. will be held at a later date.
Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford, N.C., is serving the family.
Mr. Joe Cephas Snider, Jr. died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Autumn Care of Raeford at the age of 86. He was born in Picher, Okla., on Feb. 5, 1921 to the late Joe and Minnie Neal Snider.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Snider of Raeford; a son, Gerald Snider and his wife, Connie, of Olathe, Kan.; a daughter, Donna Roddy and her husband, Don, of Raeford; five grandchildren, Cori Lynn, Jeremy, Hollie, Eric and Shawn and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Chad, Cole, Devynn, Justin and Alexander.
Memorials may be made to the Joe Cephas Snider, Jr. Memorial Fund, 2100 O’Brien Drive, Raeford, NC 28376.
Alford Spencer
Funeral services for former Seminole resident Alford Spencer were held today at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Maud with Rev. Tim Harjo officiating.
Interment followed at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Spencer died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at Colonial Estates Nursing Home in Shawnee, at the age of 75. He was born on Sept. 22, 1932 in Castle, Okla., to Billy and Willie Mae (Johnson) Spencer.
He married Lorene (McGirt) Spencer and she preceded him in death. He was a pipeline worker for many years and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two brothers: Jimmie Spencer of Midwest City, and John Smith of Seminole.
His parents, wife, two brothers: James Spencer and Benny Smith and one sister: Daisy Lorene Sandfur preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be: Corky Snodgrass, Jeremy Long, Chris Watkins, Brandon Smith, Brandon Sandfur, and Michael Sheppard.
Ina Spencer
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Ina Mae Spencer are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hitchitee Methodist Church.
Burial is to follow at the Hitchitee Church Cemetery. A wake service will be held Monday from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Seminole.
Spencer died on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 in Ada at the age of 64. She was born on Nov. 14, 1942 in Seminole to Silas and Irene (Jones) Spencer.
She graduated from Chilocco Indian School and attended Seminole State College for two years. She was a member of the Hitchitee Methodist Church.
Her parents, one sister, Nellie Spencer, three brothers, Rex Spencer, Leslie Spencer, and Bill Spencer preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Maurice Spencer of Konawa and Timothy Cloud of Seminole; three daughters, Charlene Cloud of Seminole, Sandra Cloud of Seminole and Charmaine Scott of Shawnee; three brothers, Edward Spencer of Seminole, Silas Spencer, Jr. of Tulsa, and Bobby Jack Spencer of Seminole and seven grandchildren.
Paul Splawn
Funeral services former Maud resident Paul Edward Splawn are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday at the First Baptist Church of Prague, Oklahoma.
Brother Tim Emmons and Brother Glenn Peck will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, with military honors under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Paul Edward Splawn, 64-year-old Prague resident and oilman went to be with his Lord on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007 at his home in Prague. He was born Sept. 14, 1942 at Loomis Air Force Base in Loomis, Calif. to parents Luther Edward "Newt" Splawn and Edith Evelyn (Jordan) Splawn.
Paul graduated from Bristow High School in 1960. He then married the love of his life Phyllis June Barnfield on July 30, 1960 in Bristow.
Splawn served in the United States Air Force for 12 years earning the rank of Staff Sgt. during the Vietnam era.
Paul returned home to live in Maud for 13 years and 20 years in Prague.
Paul leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Splawn of the home in Prague; two sons, Dennis and his wife Lisa Splawn of McAlester and Darryl Splawn and Katie Huntman of Saint Louis, Okla. and four grandchildren, Jessica, Derick, Chris and Darryn Splawn.
Paul is also survived by a host of other family and friends.
His parents, Newt and Edith Splawn and one grandson, Darryl Paul Splawn who died in 1984 preceded him in death.
Casket bearers for the services will be Josh Williams, Ernest Reynolds, Kevin Goldsby, Chris Anderson, Larry Watkins and Randy Ledbetter.
Honorary bearers will be all of Paul's friend who meant so much to him and the list is too long to name names but you know who you are.
The family request that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Memory of Paul for Heart research.

Conard Springwater
Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Conard O. Springwater are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction Swearingen Funeral Home.
Springwater died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 in Shawnee at the age of 81. He was born Nov. 26, 1925 in Gans, Okla.
He was raised in Seminole and graduated from Seminole High School. He went to Oklahoma Baptist University and the University of Oklahoma.
Springwater was a master mason for 50 years and was a Southern Baptist ordained Deacon.
He married Wanda Springwater July 10, 1045.
Springwater served in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean Conflict and European Theatre as a master sergeant and a squad leader with the 504th parachute company and the 82nd airborne division, E-company.
He was also a platoon sergeant in the 120th Engineering Company, 45th infantry.
Springwater worked for 10 years at the Southern California Edison Power Company where he was a broker/dispatcher. He retired after 27 years from the federal government as a Power Systems Broker working on government dams. He received a distinguished career service award from the U.S. Department of Energy.
He and his wife received a distinguished leadership award in 1998 from the Oklahoma Baptist University.
Preceding him in death are his parents; one daughter, Connie Lynn Springwater Ludwig; and two sisters, Helen Hart and Ruth Roby.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one brother, Bert Springwater of Shawnee; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorene Stalnaker
Funeral services for longtime Maud resident, Lorena "Lorene" Christina (Marx) Stalnaker, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with services under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.
Stalnaker died Monday, March 12, 2007 at Seminole Hospital at the age of 92. She was the oldest born of eight children to Benny Carl and Viola (Johnson) Marx.
She married Arnamus Ward "A.W." Stalnaker on Dec. 9, 1933 in Harjo, Okla.
Her parents, husband (in July of 1976), two sons, A.W. Jr. and Donnie Stalnaker, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Stalnaker of Seminole and Grady Stalnaker of Maud; one daughter, Sharon Renfro of Maud; one brother Richard Marx of Georgia; one sister, Ola Williams of Maud; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Don Stalnaker
A private gathering of family and friends will be held in the honor of former Seminole resident, Don R. Stalnaker, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007 after a brief three-month battle with lung cancer.
He departed peacefully at home with his children, Karon "Ginger" LaBarbera of Coppell, Texas; Donald L. Stalnaker of Austin, Texas; Kurt S. Stalnaker of Colleyville, Texas by his side.
He was born June 17, 1934 in Maud to L.C. "Pete" Stalnaker and Opal L. Stalnaker. In 1939 the family moved to Seminole, which would remain as his hometown. He earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
He married Sandra A. Lett of Dallas, known as "Winkie" to family and friends. Once married, they resided in Dallas, where they would raise their family. Bill later returned to Seminole to care for his widowed mother and operated Duplicate Service Printing Company.
Following her passing he returned to the Dallas area to be closer to his children and their spouses: Chris LaBarbera and Lisa L. Stalnaker; as well as his three grandchildren: Zack LaBarbera and Gretchen and Zeke Stalnaker, who brought him the utmost happiness in his remaining years.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations please be made to the American Cancer Society.
Jerry Stalnaker
Funeral services for longtime Maud resident Jerry Lee "Possum" Stalnaker are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Konawa with Rev, Carl Whitfield officiating.
Interment is to follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Jerry passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, at the age of 73. He was born Nov. 14, 1934 in Maud to A.W. and Lorene (Marx) Stalnaker.
Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany before receiving an honorable discharge.
On June 9, 1967 he married Patricia Ann George in Skiatook, she preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 1976.
Jerry worked in the greater area oil fields most of his life and was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Maud High School sports fan.
He always helped out at the home football games by preparing the field or by doing whatever needed to be done.
His parents; two brothers, Donnie Stalnaker and A.W. Stalnaker, Jr.; and one brother-in-law, Duane Renfro, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his two sons, Lynn Stalnaker and his wife Becky of Seminole, and Glen "Bubba" Stalnaker and his wife Kathy of Bartlesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Gloria Stalnaker of Maud; one sister, Sharon Renfro of Maud; one grandson, Justin Mosley; one great-grandson, Zakery Mosley; and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be: Donnie Stalnaker, Scott Bruno, Leon Bruno, Willie Hooker, Waylon Hooker and Albert Flesher.
Honorary bearers will be: Rex Cooley, Floyd Hooker, Bill Hooker, Charlie Hopper and Clarence Hopper.
