Cynthia Talton

Funeral services for Earlsboro resident Cynthia Gail Talton are schedule for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment is to follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Cynthia passed from this life Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in Shawnee at the age of 40 years. She was born Sept. 24, 1966 in Shawnee to parents Mac Easley and Eleanor (Talton) Easley.

She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Shawnee and she had attended Earlsboro Schools.

One daughter, Taznarika Talton, precedes Cynthia in death.

Surviving are four brothers, James Talton of Shawnee, Jason L. Talton of Sayre, Mac Earnest Easley, Jr. of Shawnee and Mario Jackson of Oklahoma City and five sisters, Stephanie Talton of Shawnee, Shanae Roberson of Atlanta, Ga., Ramona Roberson of Norman, Alisha Simpson of Shawnee and Miranda Easley of Boley.

Cynthia is also survived by aunts, Beatrice Talton of New Lima, Ella Black of Oklahoma City and Mildred Conway of Shawnee; uncles, Tony Talton of Earlsboro, Jackie Talton of Shawnee, Joe Brannon of Spencer and James Black of Oklahoma City; great-aunt, Lurena Douglas of Shawnee; two sisters-in-law, Tina Johnson of Earlsboro and Marsha Talton of Tecumseh and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sarah Tanton

Funeral services for former Seminole area resident Sarah Elizabeth Tanton are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.

Services are under the direction of Moore’s Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa.

Tanton, 88, died Monday, March 12, 2007 in Tulsa. She was born Jan. 6, 1919 in Kiefer, Okla., to James G. and Myrtle Ann (McLain) Mason.

She was a buyer for a ready-to-wear for Dorothy Stead in Georgetown, Mo. Tanton was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chamberburg, Pa.

Tanton was also a member of BPW, Beta Sigma and the Oklahoma Society in Washington, D.C.

Her parents; three brothers, Joe, Harley and Bill; five sisters, Mary Ellen, Patsy, Lottie, Edra and Lela preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Phillip E. Tanton; daughter, Sondra Sue Schumacher of Tulsa; three sons, Gary Lynn Snyder, Mark Tanton and John Tanton; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Francis Tanyan

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Francis Elizabeth (Burgess) Tanyan are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday at Seminole Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Hobia and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.

Interment will follow at the Seminole Indian Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Wake services will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Tanyan, 78, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1928 in Konawa to Walter Caesar Burgess and Nancy (Alexander) Burgess.

She married Edwin Tanyan and was a homemaker.

Survivors include one brother, Jonas Burgess of Seminole; two sisters, Martha Mae Palmer of Seminole, and Evelyn Puntka of Shawnee; two daughters, Jane Boydstun of Ada and Nancy Jo Hearndon of Seminole; one son, Lee W. Wood of Denton Texas eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be; Anthony Notah, Ronald Notah, Robert C. Wood, Charles "Bone" Burgess, Ronnie D. Burgess and Dewanye Smith.

Honorary bearers will be; Eric Smith, Bobby Boydstun and David Bryant.

Mary Tanyan

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Mary Elizabeth Emarthle Tanyan are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Konawa.

Eastman Factor and Roy Huckeby are to officiate with interment to follow at Little Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Tanyan, 56, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 at Integris Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born May 30, 1951 in Claremore to Wesley Camp and Stella (Harrison) Factor.

She was baptized June 4, 1960 by Rev. Wilson Kinney at Wewoka Church. She was also a former resident of Holdenville before moving to Oklahoma City.

On Oct. 11, 1970 she married Benjamin James Emarthle in Wewoka and he preceded her in death. She later married Earnest Tanyan on Aug. 9, 1996 in Oklahoma City.

Tanyan was a homemaker and member of New Life Tabernacle Church in Seminole.

Surviving is her husband, Earnest Tanyan of the home; mother, Stella Factor of Seminole; two daughters, Valarie Pryor and Vanessa Strickland, both of Oklahoma City; one adopted son, Steven Yahola of Oklahoma City; one brother, Bobby Camp of Wewoka; one sister, Nity Brotherton of Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren.

Bob Taylor

Funeral services for longtime Seminole County resident Bob J. Taylor are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Konawa.

Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Taylor, 76, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born May 1, 1931 in Ada to Raymond and Bertha (Crenshaw) Taylor.

On June 2, 1956 he married Peggy Wood in Vamoosa. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country in the 45th Division during the Korean Conflict.

He graduated from East Central University in Ada with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Taylor has taught school for over 31 years, having taught one year at Luther Public Schools and 30 years at Southeast High School in Oklahoma City.

After retiring from teaching he enjoyed raising cattle on his farm in Sasakwa. He was a memberof the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association and was of the Baptist faith.

His parents; one daughter, Paula Taylor; one son, Michael Taylor; two brothers, Jerry and John Taylor; and one sister, Tolah Bray, preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, Peggy Taylor of the home; two sons, David and Brandon Taylor, both of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren; one brother, Tom Taylor of Allen and one sister, Betty Johnson of Oklahoma City.

Serving as casket bearers will be: David Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Jerry Taylor, Monte Taylor, Joe Taylor and Nathan Johnson.

Evelyn Taylor

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Evelyn Hughes Taylor are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Evelyn Hughes Taylor, age 89, passed from this life Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center in Seminole. Evelyn was born Oct. 1, 1918 in Konawa to parents Greear and Ivor (Ward) Hughes.

She married her husband Sam Taylor on Oct. 16, 1940 in Konawa. Sam was taken into the U.S. Army, July 7, 1942 and served in the Pacific and European Theaters of War and returned in Nov. 28, 1945, Sam preceded her in death on June 20, 1984.

Evelyn was baptized into the Baptist Church on Aug. 7, 1937 by Rev. Branch Comb. She graduated from Central High School (Maud) in May of 1938. Evelyn was initiated into the Friendship Rebekah Lodge #224 on Feb. 13, 1956 and served in all of the chairs, and was a past Noble Grand in 1961.

She served as a homeroom mother and belonged to the P.T.A., the Homemakers Club from 1957 to 1969, a Camp Fire Girls Leader from 1972 to 1982, receiving a plaque for outstanding leadership for 10 years in Campfire.

She worked with the 4-H girls in demonstrations and fair exhibits. After her high school years she attend Miami Junior College and East Central College. She also served in the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ed Lee Hughes; sister, Connie Young and her husband.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Pat Taylor of San Antonio, Texas and Robert and Debbie Taylor of Midwest City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Mark Redding of Eufaula and Jean Ann and Mitch Worley of Seminole.

She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, John H. and Dale Hughes of Lexington, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Dock Young of Norman; sister-in-law, Virginia Hughes of Waco, Texas; seven grandchildren: Lynn Taylor, Angela Taylor, Derick Worley, Shannon Redding and wife Chamie, Jason Redding and wife Cassi, Amanda Worley and Josh Worley; and four great-grandchildren: Zachary Redding, Haley Redding, Tyler Wetstone and Chance Holcomb.

Peggy Tefertiller

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Peggy (Simon) Louise Tefertiller were scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa with Mitch Wilburn officiating.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Peggy Louise Tefertiller, age 74 of Tulsa, passed away Friday, May 25, 2007 in Seminole County. Mrs. Tefertiller was born Dec. 9, 1932 in Wewoka to Gola Mary and Herbert Merritt Simon.

She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1950 and attended Harding College.

Upon meeting at church, Peggy and Bobby Gene Tefertiller were married Nov. 1. 1959 and they made their home in Tulsa. They have both been members of Park Plaza Church of Christ for 30 years and have been married for 47years.

She was employed at Sun Oil in Tulsa for many years before leaving to raise her twin sons.

Most of all she loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with her lunch groups. Raising her twin sons and participating in their lives was her passion and having grandchildren at the age of 69 was one of her greatest blessings.

Her mother, Gola Simon in 1989, and her father, Herbert Simon in 1973, preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Bob Tefertiller of Tulsa; twin sons, Jeff Tefertiller and wife Tessa and Jay Tefertiller and wife Andrianna, all of Edmond; grandchildren, Sophia, Vivian, Dane and Rhys, all of Edmond and brother, Dan Simon of Tulsa.

Kizzie Thlocco

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident, Kizzie "Judy" Long Thlocco are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tukvpvtce Methodist Church, Holdenville, with Rev. Frank Moppin officiating.

Burial is to follow at the Yahola-Fixico Cemetery near the church, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Kizzie "Judy" Thlocco, age 81 years of age, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and other family and close friends on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at the Odessy House in Oklahoma City.

Kizzie was born Sept. 13, 1926 in Holdenville to Milton and Ella (Yahola) Long. She was a member of the Tukvpvtce Methodist Church.

In 1944 Kizzie and Bunnie Thlocco were married; he preceded her in death in June 1987.

Before Kizzie’s illness she loved working in her yard and cooking for her family, especially on Sundays.

Her son, Billy "Cookie Jo" Thlocco (October 1967); daughter, Lois Gomez (March 2004); three grandsons, Nicholas "Nick" Warledo (July 1993), Lance Warledo (June 2004) and Troy Warledo (August 2007); on granddaughter, Crystal Thlocco and two great-granddaughters, Angel Warledo and Cherokee Woods, also preceded her in death.

Mama Kizzie leaves her loving memories to be cherished by survivors: sons, Bryant and Connie Thlocco of Kansas City, Mo., and Eric Thlocco of Seminole; daughters, Amy Warledo of Seminole, Liz Lagrone of Muskogee, Norma Warledo, Shirley Woods and April Warledo, all of Wewoka; sister, Wisey Sands of Castle; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Lucas Warledo, Jonathon Warledo, Twyn Warledo, Castin Woods, Billy Joe Thlocco, C.B. Thlocco, Rick Woods, Kevin Johnson, George Deere, Ryan Moppin and Jeremy Gomez.

The body will be taken to the church today and a wake has been scheduled at 6 p.m.

June Thompson

A celebration of life for June Pauline Thompson is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee.

Dr. Marvin Hudson will officiate the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

June Pauline Thompson, 62-year-old longtime Shawnee resident passed from this life Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Unity North Hospital in Shawnee. She was born March 1, 1945 in Aderdeen, Wash., to parents Lyle and Irene Blaine.

June moved to the Shawnee area 43 years ago from Redding, Calif. She was affiliated with the Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee and had worked as a caregiver, nanny and housekeeper for many years.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Teddie and Thomas Gamel of Garland, Texas and Lynn and Bill Goodnight of Shawnee; three sons and a their spouses, Frank Aaron Mills, Randy Mills and Kathy Boyd and Paul Mills and Alanna Couch, all of Shawnee; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Edward Parks and Jaxine Kennedy, all of Woodland, Wash.; three brothers, Walter Blaine of Vancouver, Wash., Bern Blaine of Woodland, Wash., and Richard Blaine of Longview, Wash.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

June is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Teresa Marie Rowton (who died on May 31, 2004) and by one great-granddaughter, Bailey Breanne Harlin (on Nov. 21, 2000).

The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Wesley United Methodist Church - 302 East Independence - Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801.
