Blake Tucker

Services to celebrate Wewoka resident Blake Tucker’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Wewoka at 2 p.m. on Friday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Guy Blake Harrod Tucker, beloved son of Guy and Lisa Tucker, left this world on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007.

Blake was born on Oct. 14, 1981 in Ada and was a 2000 graduate of Wewoka High School.

During high school, Blake worked diligently and earned his Eagle Scout award on March 5, 2000.

Blake has a zealous personality and a love for everyone he encountered. He will always be remembered for his unwavering loyalty.

There will be a great void in the lives Blake touched because of the compassion he had for others.

Blake is survived by his parents of Wewoka; his sister and brother-in-law, Calvin and Ashlei Tiffie of Oklahoma City and a brother, Heath Tucker of Norman; paternal grandparents, Durwood and Joyce Tucker of Wewoka and maternal grandmother, Jerry Harrod of Wewoka.

Many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends also survive him.

His uncle, Steven Tucker and his grandfather, James Harrod preceded Blake in death.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Seminole Nation Museum, Wewoka.

Thomas Tucker

A memorial services for Wewoka graduates Thomas William "Tom" Tucker, was held at 2 p.m. today at Heath Oak Hill Chapel under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Highland.

Tucker died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Ash Flat, at the age of 72. He was born June 29, 1935 in Mena, Ark., to Clyde and Addie (Cox) Tucker.

He was a 1953 Wewoka High School graduate and entered the U.S. Army in the August preceding graduation.

Tucker served with the 101st Airborne in Toole France as Sergeant First Class until he discharge in 1962. After his discharge he served as a police officer in Kansas City, Mo., and Oklahoma City.

He was owner of Enid Finance in Enid, as well as his own car wash. Tucker also was sports announcer and communications director at KNID radio in Enid.

In 1980 Tom married Irene Green and moved to Fort Smith, Ark., there he worked for the radio station and had Royal Coach car wash.

Also while there he coached a girls softball team called the Royal Coach Sluggers; they won first in the state of Arkansas and fifth in the nationals.

In 1988 he went to work for MS carriers in Memphis Tenn., and worked there for twelve years until he became ill in 2000.

Tucker was very active in the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge # 2539 in Enid, the Cherokee Village Elks Lodge and was also the bingo chairman.

Surviving is his wife Irene; two daughters: Thomye and Black of Enid and Rita Sik of Dickson, Tenn.; three sons: Mark Tucker of Russeville, Ark., Michael Tucker of Enid and Dewayne Tucker of Belleview, Tenn.; two step daughters: Tammy Belcher of Imboden, Ark., and Shelly Gates of Caledonia Miss.; three brothers: Herman, Clyde and Gary Tucker; two sisters: Sharon Giles and Melinda Azlin; eight grandsons; seven granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Brian Tusberg

Funeral services for Brian Patrick Tusberg of Daleville, Ala., are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Doster officiating.

Burial will follow at Daleville Memorial Gardens under the direction of Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home, Enterprise, Ala.

Tusberg, 32, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in Dothan, Ala., from injuries sustained in an accident.

His grandparents, Alfred J. Tusberg, Alice L. Tusberg and Rex L. Hall, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Brandy Harris, of Daleville; his children, Brian and Alissa Harris, both of Daleville; mother, Rosemary P. Tusberg of Enterprise; father, Allan J. Tusberg of Sasakwa; brother, Allan James Tusberg Jr., of McAllan, Texas; sister, Tonya R. Tusberg of Enterprise and grandmother, Carla Hall of Phoenix, Ariz.

Tyree Underhill

Funeral services for Ada resident Tyree Underhill are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Tony Buck and Jimsey Harjo officiating.

Burial will follow at the Carpitcher Family Cemetery in Wolf and a wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.

Mr. Underhill, 38, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born April 21, 1969 in Claremore to Jerry Jay and Katy Lee Carpitcher Underhill.

He graduated from Latta High School and attended college. Mr. Underhill was employed with DJK Enterprises on the Direct Care Staff for 10 years.

Survivors include three brothers: Victor Underhill of Ada, Jackie F. Davis of Lawton, and Earl Underhill of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Kary J. Underhill of Konawa; nieces and nephews: Marilyn, Natalie, and Raquel Davis, Rhoda Davis, Marie Bunner, Jared, Jacen and Adreanna Underhill; an aunt, Virginia Cosar of Konawa; an uncle, Charles Reevus of Wichita, Kan.; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Jay Underhill and Katy Lee Carpitcher Cass; a brother, Joe Davis; a sister, Joyce Underhill; niece, Kristi Davis; and uncles, Jackie and Freland Carpitcher.

Bearers will be: Mickey Cosar, Junior Issac, Travis Issac, Timothy Issac, Keith Taylor and Charlie Jack Harjo. Honorary bearer will be Israel Camp.

Derek Underwood

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Derek Wayne Underwood are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Deacon Marchand Fleming will officiate with Ed Bender and Mike Snyder assisting.

Interment will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Derek Wayne Underwood, 20 year old passed from this life Saturday, June 2, 2007 following a motorcycle accident in Shawnee. He was born Jan. 1, 1987 in Shawnee.

Derek graduated from Seminole Public Schools in 2006 and had worked for Ledco Plumbing for two years and he was currently working at Wolverine Tubing in Shawnee.

Derek leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Joan C. Underwood of Seminole; one brother, Basil Underwood of Seminole; his fiancée, Juanita Porter of Seminole; grandfather, Bill Underwood of Seminole; three uncles and an aunt, Bob and Susan Underwood of Hennessey, Gary Underwood of Asher and Brian Underwood of Seminole; cousins, Gage Underwood of Seminole, Sadie Richards of Hennessey, Lance and Sara Painter of Hennessey, Rusty Richards of Stillwater, Angie Underwood of Hennessey and Hugo Underwood of Hennessey.

He is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.

Derek was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucille Underwood.

Casket Bearers will be; Davey Whitley, Austin Laxton, Jarrod Bender, Richie Kelley, Chris Conway, John Beaver and Keith Aldridge.

Honorary Bearers will be; Mike Snyder, Jack Tinsley, Neil Abbott and Scotty Ledbetter.

Lloyd Unsell

Following a private family funeral for former Seminole Producer reporter, Lloyd Neal Unsell, is scheduled for Friday, April 13, the family plans a Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of this great man in the Holeman Lounge at the National Press Club, 529 14th Street, NW, 13th Floor, Washington, DC 20045, from 12 - 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.

Lloyd Neal Unsell, of Colton’s Point, Md., died Saturday, April 7, 2007 in Clinton, Md., following an extended illness.

Mr. Unsell was a distinguished veteran of World War II, having served in England during the war in Europe, and in Manila, Philippines during the war with Japan.

He worked as a Reporter for the Seminole Producer and the Tulsa World newspapers following the war, until 1948, when he joined the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

He worked with their Tulsa office until 1964, when he was transferred to their Washington, DC office.

Later, he served as the President/CEO of the Association until his retirement in May of 1987. Mr. Unsell was widely recognized as one of the most influential oil industry lobbyists in Washington, and was one of the major fundraisers for the construction of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington.

Mr. Unsell moved from Arlington, Va., to Colton’s Point, Md., in the early 1990’s following the death of his beloved wife, Nettie Marie Unsell, where he resided and became active in fundraising for the St. Clement’s Island/Potomac River Museum and the project to rebuild the St. Clement’s Island Lighthouse.

He was the beloved father of Lloyd N. Unsell, Jr. of Forestville, Md., and Jonna Kay Unsell Wilhelm of Woodbridge, Va.

He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Marylou Unsell of Forestville and five grandchildren: Jessica Lynn Wilhelm of Woodbridge, Jennifer Marie Unsell Seay and her husband Richard Seay of Salisbury, Md., Roy Lee Wilhelm and his wife Allysa of Richmond, Va., Erin Elizabeth Unsell Schaefer and her husband William Schaefer of Elburn, Ill., and Timothy Scott Unsell and his wife Jonlaya of Fairfax, Va., and a great-grandson, Grayson William Schaefer of Elburn Ill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a memorial donation in his name to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 1023 15th Street, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC. 20005, or the St. Clement’s Island Museum, 38370 Point Breeze Road, Colton’s Point, Maryland 20626.

Raymond Ussery

Cremation memorial services for former Seminole resident Raymond LeRoy Ussery are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Seminole, with Rev. Larry Chesser to officiate.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Raymond, 49 of McLoud, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born May 28, 1958 in Laverne, Okla., to Roy Lawrence Ussery and Wanda Lee (Secrest) Monks.

He was a longtime McLoud and Lincoln County resident and was a retired, self-employed mechanic.

Ussery served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Compound.

His grandfather, Raymond Secrest; grandmother, Naomi Secrest; grandmother, Rosa Monks and mother, Wanda Lee (Secrest) Monks preceded him in death.

Surviving is his friend and companion, Terry Dollison of McLoud; father, Lloyd Monks of Bowlegs; two daughters, Rychette Alton of Bingham, Ill., and Ronna Coffman-Chartney of McLoud; one brother, Tommy Monks of Bowlegs; one sister, Deborah Jones of Bowlegs; five grandchildren; Tamara, Christian, Alexandria, Haylee and Cayden; and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary bearers for the services will be: Magnum Trog, Kidd Gabby, Maniac Dozer, Casey, Yankee, George Mayer, Mike White, Michael Stacy, Big John and his Biker Brothers.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to B.A.C.A. or the youth organization of the giver’s choice.

Johnny Vaughn

Funeral services for longtime Seminole and Prague resident Johnny B. Vaughn are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Seminole, with Dr. Jack Medlock, Pastor of the Praise Center at Little, and Mickey Shaw to officiate.

Burial with military honors will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Mr. Vaughn, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 with his children and family by his side at Seminole Estates Nursing Center in Seminole. Johnny was born May 1, 1924 in Little, Okla., to Warren Edward and Flora Angeline (Hopkins) Vaughn.

Johnny was raised in the Little Community north of Seminole. He attended Prairie Valley Schools in Seminole County.

Mr. Vaughn served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a Private in the Military Police.

Mr. Vaughn was a longtime employee and propane truck driver for O.J. Green’s Propane in Seminole and Blue Flame Propane in Meeker. He worked at the Ford Garage in his early years in Seminole.

Johnny was also a farmer and rancher and drove a school bus at Strother Schools for a while. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion and also served for a time as Chaplain for the D.A.V. in Poteau, Okla.

Mr. Vaughn attended Little and Glad Tidings Assembly of God churches, where he enjoyed singing and had an active role in various activities.

On July 1, 1944 Johnny met and married Opal Irene Warrenburg in Seminole. She preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1995.

Johnny is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Gerald and Janey Vaughn and Ron Vaughn, all of Seminole; five daughters and sons-in-law: Gayla and Dale Conn of Moore, Anita and Tom Lemmings, Linda and Buster Wilcox, Vicki and Mitch McAnally and Ann and Danny McSperitt, all of Seminole; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Also surviving is Ida Mae (Hopkins) Ramey who was raised by Johnny’s parents. He is also survived a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mr. Vaughn is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Donald Dewayne Vaughn; his sisters, Lorene Burkhart, Thelma Fowler, and Dorothy Love; and one grandson, Jason Kyle McSperitt.

His grandsons will serve as casket bearers: John Lemmings, Stephen Vaughn, Danny Wilcox, Mike Conn, Scott McSperitt and Travis Lemmings.
