Grace Williams

Funeral services for Seminole resident Grace M. Williams are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Tripp and Chris Stinnett officiating.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Williams, 94, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 in Seminole. She was born March 4, 1912 in Weiser, Idaho to Arminta (Madewell) Phillips and Tom Phillips.

She married Ernest L. Williams in Sapulpa and he preceded her in death in May of 1967.

Williams first moved to Seminole in 1928 and lived here until she moved to Bell, Calif. in 1953.

She worked for Newberry’s Department Store in Bell, Calif. for 17 years as a sales clerk. She moved to Ottawa, Kan. in 1970 and returned back to Seminole in 1973.

Williams was baptized at the Church of Christ in Seminole.

Her parents; her husband; one son, Leroy Williams (July 2003); two brothers, Charles and Chester Phillips; one grandson, Roy A. Ingram (September 1982) and one great-great granddaughter, Kaliece Brinsfield (2000) preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Lucille Houck of Seminole and Tommie Ingram of Ottawa, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren.

Casket bearers for the services will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Kammy Williams

Seminole county resident Kammy Kolleen Williams died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 in Ada, at the age of 44. She was born on Sept. 17, 1963 in San Diego, Calif., to Lon Layfayette and Winnie Rose (Burris) Williams.

She was a former member of the Elks Lodge #2516 in Seminole and was a waitress.

Her mother and father Lon and Rose Williams of Wewoka, Oklahoma, survive her.

No services have been scheduled at this time.

Tony Williams

Graveside services for longtime Seminole resident Tony Ray Williams are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Little cemetery with Gary Dunson, Ted Underwood and George Mooney officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Williams, 57, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1949 in Talihina to Ernest Frank and Mary Frances Williams.

He was a truck driver and disabled veteran, who served as a Private in the United States Army. Williams was a member of the Seminole Nation Honor Guard.

The body will be taken to the home at 4 p.m. tonight.

Surviving is his friend, Lenna Ann Peterson of the home; three sons, Ernest Wayne Williams, Tony Dwayne William and Edmond Keith Williams, all of Belton, Texas; two brothers, Gerald Williams of Seminole and Ray Williams of Okemah; eight sisters, Ava Dunson, Marcella McKane, Evita Williams, Doris Boone, Bonita Williams, Jolanda Williams, Regina Lozier and Lahoma Williams, all of Seminole; and four grandchildren.

His parents and grandson preceded him in death.

Walter Williams

Funeral services for Holdenville native, Walter M. Williams, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Nations Mission Church, Muskogee.

Interment will be in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. A wake service has been scheduled for 7-8 p.m. tonight at Foster-Petering Funeral Home, Ivory Chapel, Muskogee.

Williams, 59 of Muskogee, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 in Oklahoma City. He was born March 5, 1948 in Holdenville to Clarence and Elizabeth (Thomas) Fields.

His grandmother, Linda Powell, raised him and she taught him to speak fluent Seminole. He attended Jones Academy and graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1966.

In 1967 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam and was a member of the 3rd Marine Division in the Fareast 7th Fleet.

He was honorably discharged from the Marines on July 31, 1978 and at that time he began employment with the Special Forces Unit in Tulsa as a unit administrator.

In 1995 he retired as a Reserves from the Special Forces and took a position with the Veterans Administration Medical Center as a V.A. Police Officer. He served in this position as a Veterans Federal Law Enforcer until 2005.

His grandmother; brother, Terry Postoak and sister, Carol Williams, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Augustine, of the home; daughter, Whitney Williams of the home; stepson, Jay Duncan of Charlotte, N.C.; three daughters, Anganette, Jacqueline and Kayleigh; five sons, Stuart, Wayne, Justin, Jonathan and Zachary; four brothers, Ronnie Postoak of Wewoka, Winston Postoak of Oklahoma City, Tim Postoak of Holdenville and Edward Postoak of Oklahoma City; and one sister, Johnnie Mae Postoak of Oklahoma City.

Pallbearers will be Leo Maupin, David Ade, Titus Carey, Leroy Soap, Jarred Dry and Bill Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Carey, James Lowe, Sandy Powell and Cheparney Harjo.

Wanda Williams

Funeral services for lifelong Vamoosa and Konawa resident Wanda Lou (Goodrich) Williams are scheduled for 2 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa on Monday with Rev. Michael Vallandingham and Rev. Pam Shirk officiating.

Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Wanda passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at her residence in Vamoosa at the age of 79. She was born on Nov. 12, 1927 in Konawa to Frank and Freda (Pairet) Goodrich.

She attended East Fairview School.

Wanda married Carl E. "Cotton" Williams in 1961 at Kingfisher, Okla.

Wanda was a cook for several years at Vamoosa School and was a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church.

Her parents and two sisters, Ada Marvelli and Mary Clark, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Carl E. "Cotton’ Williams of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Franky and Betty Sue Carpenter of Seminole and Freddy and Cindy Carpenter of Konawa; five brothers, Ralph Goodrich of Bakersfield, Calif., Jack Goodrich of Abilene, Texas, Larkin Goodrich, E.E. Goodrich and Charles Goodrich, all of Konawa; four grandchildren, Shawn Green and special granddaughter-in-law Tasha, Jeremy Green, Kerri Cheatwood and her husband Jason and Patricia Carpenter; and six great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Serving as casket bearers will be Brian Goodrich, Travis Goodrich, Kevin Goodrich, Frank Goodrich, Bruce Goodrich and Jeremy Green. Honorary bearers will be C.L. Bounds, Bob Harrison, Floyd Clayton, Jackie Hensley, Rube Griffin and Jim Kelley.

Sara Wilson

Funeral services for Wewoka resident Sara Jane Wilson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Wewoka, with Rev. Amanda B.P. Lockwood officiating,

Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Sara Jane Wilson, age 74, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 in Oklahoma City. She was born June 13, 1932 in Blackwell, Okla. to Cloy Henderson and Carmen Lucille (Ritchie) Robbins.

She graduated from Wewoka High School in 1950 and worked for Dept. of Human Services as Social Worker and Edna Looney Products. She attended Texas Women’s University and University of Oklahoma.

Sara was a member of First United Methodist Church Wewoka, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, OU Rainbow, United Methodist Women, and Wewoka Country Club.

She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Gordon Demonte Wilson and her parents.

Surviving are her children, Robbin Ann Parrish, and husband Richard Parrish and Cynthia Dawn Katigan, and husband Brent Katigan and grandchildren, Russell Heath Katigan, Adam Henderson Parrish, Christopher Aaron Parrish, William Mark Katigan and Kaitlyn Rene Katigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church, Wewoka, or Seminole Museum.

Lucretia Winn

Graveside services for Seminole native Lucretia A. Winn, will be held, time pending, at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Rev. Harold Turner will officiate.

Services will be under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Allen, Texas.

Winn died Dec. 9, 2007 at her home in Gordonville, Texas, at the age of 64.

She was born on Feb. 15, 1943 in Oklahoma City to Henry M. and Helen Ada (Phillips) Lightfoot.

Winn grew up in Seminole where she attended schools.

She worked several years as a line supervisor for Haggar Slacks in McKinney, Texas.

Winn retired after 18 years as an operator for Johnson & Johnson.

Winn was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert Chandler, Gordonville, Texas; children, Judy James, Grapevine, Texas, Loralei Cheatum, Tulsa, Jana Green, Sherman, Texas, John Winn, Keller, Texas, and Jimmy Winn, Garland, Texas; sisters, Patricia Weaver, Collinsville, Linda Kay Houck, Seminole, and Judy Carol Dry, Yukon; father, Henry Lightfoot, Hobart; eight grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
