Tabby Winter

Funeral services for lifelong Seminole resident Tabby Lea Winter are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Davis officiating and under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Winter, 44, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Shhe was born Oct. 15, 1962 in Van Buren, Ark., to Oda Jr. Winter and Reba (Isham) Winter.

She graduated from Konawa High School in 1982 and had attended Sand Creek Baptist Church in Seminole County and Little River Baptist Church in Spaulding.

Her mother, Reba Winter-Davis and by her stepfather, Joe Davis preceded her in death.

Surviving is her father and stepmother, Oda and Mary Winter of Seminole; three sisters, Cindy Simpkins, Samantha Harjo and Kathy Downey all of Seminole; one stepsister, Gayle Fields of Sayer and two stepbrothers, Steve Horne of Okmulgee and Jeff Horne of Henryetta.

Casket bearers will be Timothy Downey, Bill Downey, James Bouchillin, Simon Harjo, Montelito Simpkins and Mike Waddle.

Honorary bearers will be Jerry Simpkins, Traymon Simpkins, Sammy Simpkins and Jay Simpkins.

Patsy Withrow

Memorial services for former Seminole resident Patsy Jean "Patty" Withrow are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, 1212 Bedford Dr.

Patty passes from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at the age of 71 years. She was born on April 9, 1936 in Antlers. Okla., to John D. and Dollie Mae (Inman) Edge.

She lived with her family in Tennessee and Mississippi during the 1940’s, and later in Holdenville, before settling in McAlester in 1948.

She graduated from McAlester High School in 1954, where she was a cheerleader and accompanied the Rainbow Sextet singing group.

Patty attended the University of Oklahoma for two years, at which time she married Phil C. Withrow. She was out of school for several years but returned and received her Bachelor of Music from OU in 1968.

Patty was forever proud of being a music student of Professor Joseph Benton at OU. She taught piano, sang and played piano for churches and other groups and supported musicians for the rest of her life.

For many years she was Chairman of the Keith String Competition for young string players. Patty was Financial Secretary and recent past president of the Piano Division of the Oklahoma City Ladies Music Club; and was the current president of the SAI Patroness Music Club.

She was the founder, director, trainer and the main cheerleader of the Children’s "Cherub Choir" (children ages four to seven) at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church; and was a former member of the Oklahoma City Geologist’ Wives Association.

Patty had diabetes since the age of 15, which led to numerous health problems that she never allowed to stop her from making contributions to the things she valued most – her family, her church, and her music.

Patty is survived by her husband of 51 years, Phil, of the home; daughter, Cindy and son, James, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Jenny Shephard, son-in-law Brian Shepard, and granddaughter, Cecilia R, Montgomery, all of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and grandson, Phillip G. Montgomery, of the U.S. Army.

Her extended surviving family includes: her sister, Janet Bare of Ada; brother, James W. Edge of Houston, Texas; brother, John D. Edge, Jr., of McAlester; sister-in-law, Janie Withrow Davis of Tulsa; brother-in-law, Jon R. Withrow of Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We will all be forever inspired by the beautiful but straightforward and positive way she lived her life.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetic Association; the SAI Patroness Club of Oklahoma City University; or the Music Department of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.

Antonio Wolf

Funeral services for former longtime Konawa resident Antonio "Tony" Wolf are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bird Creek Baptist Church, west of Sasakwa.

A wake service will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the church. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Interment is to follow at the Wolf Family Cemetery.

Wolf, 54, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was born March 12, 1953 in Konawa to Amos Wolf and Hattie Josephine Harjo.

Wolf left Konawa and moved to Oklahoma City 22 years ago. He worked in the greater area oilfields and also had worked for a moving and storage company in Oklahoma City.

In October 1983 he married Brenda Kay Roberts in Okmulgee.

His parents; stepfather, William Wolf; brother, Donald Wolf; and sister, Sarah Wolf, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of the home; three sons: Lawrence Wolf of Dallas, Texas, Leonard Wolf of Granite, Okla., and Thompson Wolf of the home; three daughters: Dawnita Wolf of Houston, Texas, Toni Wolf and Lisa Wolf, both of the home; two stepdaughters, Terra Long and Bobbie Long, both of Oklahoma City; four brothers: T.J. Wolf of Edmond, Amos Wolf Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., Joseph Wolfe of Konawa, and Timothy Wolfe of Maud; four sisters: Peggy George and Suzanna Tanyan, both of Konawa, Brenda Harjo and Mary Jo Wolf, both of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Serving as casket bearers will be: Marc Roberts, Matthew Harjo, Bruce Warrington, DeWayne Walston, Greg McKinney and Danny Penwell.

Honorary bearers will be: T.J. Wolf, Amos Wolf, Jr., Joseph Wolfe, Timothy Wolfe, Harold Stone, Ron Snyder and nephews.

Alice Wood

Graveside services for former Seminole County resident, Alice Ann Wood, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, Ohio.

Alice Ann Wood, 86, of Circleville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2007. She was surrounded at home by her loving family.

Alice Ann was born Dec. 15, 1920 in Newport, Ark., the daughter of Paul and Lily (Bandy) Noe.

She was a 36-year member and 20-year organist for First Baptist Church.

Her parents; son, Gerry C. Wood and sister, Mary Francis Haskins, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Robbin (Ken) Lopez of Margate, Fla., and Meri Gay (Lance) Frost of New Albany, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Verna Wood of Lewisport, Ky.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Gideons.

Ryan Wood

Sgt Ryan Mitchell Wood, 22 of Oklahoma City was killed while serving his country in Baghdad, Iraq on Thursday June 21, 2007. Ryan was born on July 11, 1984 to Renee and Bonner Wood.

He attended High School at Putnam City North and graduated on June 9, 2002. Ryan enlisted into the Army in July of 2002 after Sept. 11th, and was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany with the 1st Infantry Division.

He served two tours in Iraq, his first tour in the Sunni Triangle region in 2004/2005. His second tour was to end on Oct. 12, 2007 and he was to be back home on Dec. 1, 2007 after five years of continuous service to his country that he loved so much.

Ryan loved alternative rock, playing the guitar and spending time with friends and family. He was respected and revered by everyone he met.

A born leader, a warrior, a patriot, a soldier, he was all this and so much more. He truly cared for the men that he served with, as they were all his brothers.

Ryan had a wonderful sense of humor and a zest for life. He was devoted to his family, friends, and the men that he served with. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew.

Ryan was an accomplished and talented artist. Having just been accepted to the University of Central Oklahoma, he planned to major in art and political science.

His two grandfathers, Donald Voeller and Thomas Wood, both Military Men, preceded Ryan in death and he is standing with them now.

It is said that the measure of a man is based upon those whose lives that man has touched. Ryan touched everyone’s life that knew him. He was a kind and gentle soul with a big heart. His greatness cannot be measured.

Ryan leaves behind countless friends and his loving family that will miss him for all days.

Survivors include his parents, Scott and Renee Vincent and Bonner and Brenda Wood; siblings, Candice and Husband Jay Bunce, Jenifer and Husband Michael Campbell, Scott Jr., Stephanie and Breanna; grandparents, Andrewette Wood, Anna and Garry Dickerson, Royce and Connie Moss, and Charla Wood and aunts and uncles, Derek and Loreli Litchfield, Marie Miller, Robbie Miller, Toni and Troy Hoskins, Deborah and John Wiggins, Joyce and Jerry Wiglesworth, Vicki Cramer, Kent and Diane Moss, Barbara and Chuck Brawner, Kimberly Grafa, Jackie Longacre, Lee Ann Wood, Kerri Van Ess, Andrew and Tammy Wood, Denny and Kathy Voeller, and Doreen Irwin.

He is also survived by numerous cousins as well as his best friends Richard and Anka Nolf and their son, Ryan Mitchell, his namesake. He also leaves behind his true love Rehan.

Funeral services for Ryan will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Church of the Servant, 14343 N. MacArthur.

Interment is to follow at Yukon City Cemetery in Yukon, Okla., under the direction of Smith & Kernke Funeral Directors, Oklahoma City.

Visitation will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that you send a gift in his memory to the University of Central Oklahoma’s Foundation for an endowed art scholarship fund that has been established in his name to commemorate his legacy.
