Wake services for Konawa native Teddy Dean Amos will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Houston Tiger officiating.
Internment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Amos died on Monday, July 28, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas. He was born November 19, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Sexton Amos and Mary (Cully) Tiger.
Amos was baptized at the Vamoosa Baptist Church, and a member of the Rewalke Band of the Seminole Nation. He was a plumber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son.
Amos is survived by his sister, Debra Tiger of Konawa.
Jackie Anderson
Memorial services for former Seminole resident Jackie "Jack" Herbert Anderson were held March 15 at the home of Jack and Sheila. His remains were cremated.
Mr. Anderson, 63 of Clifton, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Jack was a native of Tracy City, Tenn., and was the son of the late Jessie Elbert Anderson and Narva A, Johnson Owens.
Mr. Anderson was an instructor at Columbia State Community College and Corrections Corporation of America.
Jack was a 1963 graduate of Seminole High School. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his wife, Sheila Allen Anderson; one daughter, Tammy Gray and husband, Tom, of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren: Alexis and Luke of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Shirley Rothell of Stephenville, Texas; five brothers: Glen Thomas of Blanchard, Okla., Richard Thomas of Charleston, Ark., David Thomas of Wewoka, Steve Thomas of Byng, Okla., and Randall Owens of Topeka, Kan.; two stepsons: Jerome Gallaher of Clifton and Josh Gallaher of Waynesboro; and three step-grandchildren.
Norma Anderson
Norma Evelyn Anderson was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Paden, and died Friday, Oct. 3, in Seminole, at the age of 88.
She was the daughter of Earl August and Ella Rhea (Holder) Coleman.
She made her home in the Paden and Prague areas until 1985. She married Leonard Lee Anderson, on June 10, 1963, in Chandler. He preceded her in death, on Nov. 1, 1992.
She was a member of the Prague Nazarene Church and was a retired Nurse’s Aide.
Two daughters, Charlotte Leonard and Martha Novotny, five brothers, and 1 sister preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, John Arthur, of Bowlegs and Jerry Wayne Smith, of Francis; and one brother, John Coleman, of Prague.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, Oct. 6, in the Paden Cemetery, at 3p.m., with Rev. Roy H. Anderson, Jr. officiating. Internment will follow at Paden Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, In Prague.
Ronald Anson
Memorial services for Seminole native Ronald Eugene Anson are scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Saturday) at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Lucust Grove.
Rev. Jeff Blair will officiate with services under the direction of Locust Grove Funeral Home.
Anson, 58, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Locust Grove. He was born Nov. 12, 1949 in Seminole to John Francis and Estella Mae (Nix) Anson.
He attended school in New Lima and served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Anson worked and traveled as a truck driver and had lived in Locust Grove area for the past 15 years.
Anson had also lived in Stroud and Holdenville for some time. On Aug. 4, 1995 he married Susan B. Hutchins in Bentonville, Ark.
His parents and two sisters, Judy Anson and Jeannie Marie Anson, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the home; two children: Ricky Anson and Jeannie Nash, both of Tulsa; two step-children: Amanda Gates and Angela Lancaster, both of Columbus, Ind.; four brothers: Jack, Gary, John and Paul Anson; seven sisters: Maria Metz, Elaine Standridge, Sherry Millarr, Debbie Abercrombie, Gail Anson, Sandra Lewis and Cindy Willy; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Lula Arbuckle
Lula Mae Arbuckle died Aug. 25, at the age of 79, Seminole Estates Nursing Center.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1928, in Sasakwa, to Albert "Dude" Holder and Annie (Reynolds) Holder.
She was a homemaker and attended Temple of Praise Church, in Seminole.
Arbuckle is survived by three sons, Junior and Sylvester Arbuckle, of Seminole, and Donnie Arbuckle, of Meridan, one daughter, Annie Beaudion, of Purcell, step-son, A.J. Arbuckle, and Step-daughter, Irene Hedrick, of Seminole, two brothers, Robert Holder of Turnlock, Calif., and Billly Holder, of Kingston, Calif., also 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28. Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.
Jennetta Armstrong
Jennetta "Elaine" (Passlock) Armstrong, 57 year-old former Seminole County resident died Friday, Dec. 5, at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born April 10, 1951, in Oklahoma City, to parents Fred Passlock and Jennetta "Evelyn" Passlock.
She graduated from Harrah High School in 1969 and went on to teach school at Strothers Elementary School in Seminole. She later became a property manager where she managed several properties including the Courtyard Apartments in Seminole.
She married Zac Armstrong on Feb. 14, 1984, in Oklahoma City. He survives her of the home. Other survivors include her father, Levi Moody, of Shawnee; son, David Lemmings, Jr., of Oklahoma City; daughter, Kim Lana, of Moore; four sisters, Linda Warden, and Karen Grace, both of Seminole, Debbie Hooser, of Bedford, Texas and Rhonda Cain, of Reno, Nev.; one brother, David Moody, of Yokota AB Japan; and three grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her father, Fred Passlock, mother, Evelyn Passlock Moody, and one brother, Danny Moody.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Schoolton Cemetery.

Wanda Armstrong
Graveside services for former longtime Seminole resident Wanda R. Armstrong are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Little Cemetery with Rev. Tom Newell officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Wanda R. Armstrong passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008 in Austin, Texas at the age of 78. She was born on Dec. 30, 1929 in Seminole to W.W. and Mabel Mae (Whorton) Casey.
She married her first husband Maurice J. Martin on Sept. 24, 1949 and she later married Wayne Armstrong on Aug. 28, 1966. They both precede her in death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Maurice Martin and second husband Wayne Armstrong.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law: Russell C. Martin and wife Tammy of Bastrop, Texas and Chris Armstrong; one brother, Raymond Casey of San Antonio, Texas; two aunts: Hardena Shurley of Clarksville, Ark., and Pearl Dunn of Edmond.
Two grandchildren, Kimbry Saucedo and Jason Thompson and four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Castillo, Christain Saucedo, Ariel Thompson and Bret Thompson, also survive her.
MaryJo Arner
Funeral services for MaryJo Arner were held today at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Hansen Desert Hills Memorial Park in Scottsdale, Ariz.
MaryJo, age 79, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. She was born May 13, 1928.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Jack; her children: Steve (Frances), Saundra Hunter (Coy), and Davis (Lorrie); seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
MaryJo and family moved to Phoenix from Oklahoma in 1971.
She was involved with many charities, the Power Squadron and the Cholla Club.

Benita Atkinson
Benita Louisa "Bonnie" Atkinson, 80 year-old longtime Seminole resident died Monday, Dec. 22, at her home. She was born April 17, 1928, in Camden, N.J., to parents Benjamin Brey and Bertha (Rupp) Brey.
She married Joseph Richard Atkinson in 1959, in Georgia and he preceded her in death on Aug. 22. 1983.
She was the wife of a military retiree and a mother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church and of the Elks Lodge. She moved to Seminole 43 years ago from Pensacola, Fla.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Atkinson, of Seminole, Steven Strippoli, of Fairfax, Va., Allen Strippoli, of Tennessee; daughter, Teresa Wolfe, of Shawnee; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.
Imogene Austin
Funeral services for Imogene Marie Austin will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Freewill Baptist Church, in Paden. A lunch will be served at the church following the service. A burial will take place at 3 p.m. at Vamoosa Cemetery, in Konawa.
Austin died Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Shawnee, at the age of 80. She was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Subiaco, Ark. to Sol and Anna Jane (Quary) Casey.
She married Jay Austin on July 14, 1951, in Shawnee, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1998. She attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Paden.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sol and Anna Casey, her husband, Jay Austin, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two sisters, Wanda Adams, of Seminole and Arletta Hensley, of Oklahoma City.
Gene Azlin
A memorial service for longtime Pottawatomie County resident Gene Azlin is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Maud Community Center with Miles Knutson officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Gene passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 at his home in Maud. He was born Sept. 15, 1935 in Sulphur, Okla., to Orville Clarence "O.C." and Florence (Davis) Azlin.
He married Mary Ann (Silas) in March 1965 in Wewoka; she preceded him in death. Gene worked in the shipping department at Big Yank for many years.
He is survived by three daughters: Linda Azlin and special friend Ed Brown of Maud, Terri Colvin of Shawnee, and Vicki Kueneman of Maud; one son, Jimmy W. Hank of Ponca City; one brother, Orville Azlin; three sisters: Kathy Barnes, Ann Fesler and Pauline Azlin; two nieces: Rhonda Byerly and Beverly Azlin; and two nephews: Steve Byerly and Robert Azlin.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Billy Colvin, Jimmy B. Hanks and wife Melissa, Jacob Vloedman, Chris Colvin and wife Melissa, Tara Lewis and husband Stacy, Jessica Farani and husband Joe, Eddie Hanks, and Garon Nelson; and nine great-grandchildren, Landon, Chandler and Kyla Colvin, Hannah, Izabelle and Michael Hanks and Heaven and Aden Bond and Bryler Lewis.
His wife, Mary Ann (on Jan. 31, 2007); his parents, O.C. and Florence Azlin; grandparents; and one sister, Ruby Janette, preceded him in death.
