Franklin Booth

Franklin D. Booth, age 74, of Eufaula, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Holdenville, to Delbert and Ola Selma (Goforth) Booth. He attended Capital Hill High School.

Booth worked as a plant manager for Chromolly, in Midwest City, for fifteen years. On May 8, 1980, he married Shan Phelps, in Ada. He was a member of Faith Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shan, of the home; son, Mike Booth, of McCloud; daughters, Teri Leathers, of McCloud, Janet North, of Seminole and Cheryl Booth, of Seminole; step sons, Steve Bonsall, of Oklahoma City, Brad Bonsall, of Midwest City, and Rusty Cobb, of McCloud; step daughter, Debbie Wood, of Tuttle; brothers, Kenneth Booth and Ronnie Booth, both of Eufaula; sister, Wanda Kellison, of Eufaula; thirty grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, LaDonna Taylor; sister, Loretta Cartledge; and brother, Wendell Booth.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, at the Faith Community Church, in Whitefield, with Reverends Bill and Mary Fitzer officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bower Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black and Merritt Funeral Home.

Earl Bowen

Graveside services for Seminole resident Earl Bowen are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker with Mickey Shaw officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Earl passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Seminole Estates Nursing Home at the age of 87. He was born Oct. 26, 1920 in Duffield, Va., to Henry and Nina Bowen.

He married Billie Faye (Bishop) on May 7, 1947 in Shawnee. Earl was retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he worked for over 20 years as a welder.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Nicoma Park, 33rd Degree Master Mason. He served in the United States Army as a staff sergeant in the 6thIinfantry Division in the Philippines.

He is survived by two sons; Jerry Bowen and wife Patti of Seminole, and J.C. Bowen and wife Lark of Moore; one daughter, Janet Cox of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Tommy Bowen of Meeker; and one sister, Birdie Funk of New Jersey.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Branon Bowen of Seminole, Brian and Kelly Cox of Mansfield, Texas, Brad Cox of Midlothian, Texas, Branish Bowen of Seminole, Amanda and Todd Speer of Broken Arrow and Travis Beeson of Oklahoma City; and seven great-grandchildren; Austin Bowen, Peyton Bowen, Cameron Cox, Brenden Cox, Brice Cox, Dawson Carney and Blaine Choate.

His parents; wife, Billie Bowen on April 8, 2006; one son, Ricky; and two brothers, precede him in death.

Joyce Bowers

Funeral services for lifelong Maud resident Joyce "Inez" (Hale) Bowers are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.

Rev. Wayne Taylor will officiate the service with interment following at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.

Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home, Maud.

Bowers, 67, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Unity Health Center in Shawnee. She was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Oklahoma City to parents O.B. "Dump" Hale and Nina Pearl (Brooks) Hale.

She graduated from Maud High School with the class of 1959. She worked driving a school bus for Maud Public Schools for seven years and then worked in housekeeping at Unity Health Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma for 15 years until her retirement.

On July 13, 1964 she married Lon J. Bowers in Sherman, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2005.

She was also active in her community as a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, The Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary and the W.M.U. at Trinity Baptist Church.

Her parents; her husband Lon Bowers (July 2, 2005); and one great-granddaughter, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons: Curtis Bowers, Lloyd Bowers and twin brother, Floyd Bowers, all of Maud; one daughter, Valerie Johnson of Smithville, Texas; one brother Richard Hale of McKinney, Texas; one sister Virginia Pack of Madill, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 177 - Maud, OK 74854.

Robert Boyd

Funeral services for Chandler resident Robert E. Boyd are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in the auditorium of the Chandler High School Performing Arts Center.

Officiating will be Buster Sides, minister of the Blanchard Church of Christ. Interment is to follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Boyd died Wednesday, may 14, 2008 at his home. He was born Aug. 13, 1953 in Sayre to Phillips N. and Winifred Fullerton Boyd.

He spent his childhood in Sayre and graduated from there in 1971. On Sept. 7, 1974 he married Janet K. Mollet in Elk City. They moved to Chandler from Norman in 1979.

Boyd was a graduate of Oklahoma State University’s School of Journalism with a degree in advertising and public relations. He worked for the Sayre Journal, Stillwater News-Press, Norman Transcript and Lincoln County News before opening his advertising agency in 1987.

He was the owner of Bob Boyd Advertising Services and a member of the Central Church of Christ, Chandler, where he served as a song leader and teacher, and was recently nominated as a deacon.

Boyd was a past president of Lincoln County On-Stage and had served the community theater organization as a director, set and crew member, actor, and publicist.

He was a member of the committee for Boy Scout Troop 111, served as a Cub and Webelos leader in Chandler Cub Scout Pack 1, and coached young baseball players in tee-ball.

Boyd was involved in numerous community events, serving on the Ice Cream Festival committee and the Chandler Parks Board. He was an active Civil War history student and a fan of youth sports.

Surviving is his wife; son, Cody of the home; sister, Linda J. Boyd of Oklahoma City; and brother, Phil Boyd of Chandler.

James Boyett

Graveside services for Sasakwa resident James C. Boyett are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Rattan Cemetery, Rattan, Okla.

Services are to be conducted by Stout-Philips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Boyett died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Wewoka. He was born Sept. 7, 1938 in Montgomery, Ala., to Everett and Ora Lee (Potte) Boyett.

He was a graduate of Rattan High School and later entered the U.S. Army. Following his service, he became self-employed as a mechanic.

Boyett enjoyed the country life, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

His parents; sister, Della Davis; and brother, Alvin Boyett, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Sue Boyett of Antlers; son, James C. Boyett Jr. of Antlers; and siblings: Elvin Boyett of Hot Springs, Aek., Rosetta Hagler of Ft. Townsend, Okla., Norma Reich of Sasakwa, and Kenneth Boyett of Rattan.

Judith Breeding

Funeral service for former Seminole resident Judith "Judy" Ann Breeding are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church with Rev. Don Ramsey and Dr. Jack Medlock officiating.

Burial is to follow at 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.

Breeding, 50, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at an Ada hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1957 in Wichita, Kan., to Marvin and Alice Wheeler Thomas.

She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and from Seminole State College.

On July 18, 1975 she married Gary Breeding in Oklahoma City. She was a marketing manual specialist for Pre-Paid Legal Services from 2006 to the present.

Previously she was employed with the Oklahoma Tax Commission in Oklahoma City. Breeding attended the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.

Her son, Matthew Breeding, and her daughter, Melissa Breeding, preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Gary, of the home; three daughters: Nicole Allen of Houston, Texas, Catherine Breeding of Moore, and Cynthia Breeding of the home; two sons: Christopher Breeding of Moore and Tracy Breeding of the home; her mother, Alice Nichols of Francis; two grandchildren; and three brothers: Jimmy Thomas and Kenneth Thomas, both of Chehalis, Washington, and Clyde Thomas of Nicoma Park.

Bearers will be: James Burke, Bryan Standifer, Terry Kinnamon, James Austin, Joshua Austin and Wayne Reeves.

Edna Brinker

Longtime Seminole resident Edna Jean Brinker passed away on Sunday, Dec. 14, at the age of 57.

She was born Feb. 7, 1951 in Holdenville, to William "Bill" Clyde and Ida (Bowden) Adkins. She was a graduate of Seminole High School.

Edna worked for the City of Seminole water office, The Seminole Police Department and Wrangler.

Edna married Steve Brinker in Canadian County on June 5, 1969.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Brinker, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Jade Brinker, of Seminole and Jason and Missy Brinker, of Seminole; brother, Billy Dale Adkins, of Seminole; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Brinker, whom she helped raise, Brian Sims, and Trevor Brinker.

Edna loved her family and her grandkids were her life. Edna loved to travel.

She is also survived by special friends, Dianah Bundy and Janie Kelley and a host of other family and dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ida Adkins and mother and father-in-law: Chester and Ethelda Brinker.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wed. Dec. 17, at the Immanuel Fellowship Church with Danny Fisher and Tim Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Haskins, Jack Thompson, Tommy Mackey, Terry McGinnis, Curtis Bundy and Ron Allen.

Honorary Bearers will be Jim Robertson, Mike Kiesel and the Seminole Police Officers.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Immanuel Fellowship Church, 3103 Hwy 3 North, in Seminole, in Edna’s memory.

Shanda Brock

Graveside services for Shanda Lynette Brock were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Little Cemetery with Pastor Carl Whitfield officiating.

Services were under the direction of Eisenhower Funeral Home, Blanchard.

Brock, 36, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008. She was born Feb. 18, 1972 in Oklahoma City to Patricia Ann (Nelson) and Haskel Thomas Brock.

She enjoyed being outdoors, water sports, and spending time with her family.

Her father preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband, Thanh Doan of Houston, Texas; daughters: Devin Brock, Dashia Brock and Lauren Brock, all of Houston; mother, Patty, of Oklahoma City; brother, Haskell Brock of Oklahoma City; sister, Regina Brock of Oklahoma City; and grandmother, Ruby Bemo of Seminole.

Bailey Brooks

Funeral services for Konawa resident Bailey Elizabeth Brooks are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Konawa High School Performing Arts Center with Rev. Mona Fulks and Pastor Truett officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Bailey Elizabeth Brooks, age five, passed Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Purcell Memorial Hospital in Purcell, Okla. She was born April 19, 2002 in Norman. to Tracy Alan and Lori Denise (Phillips) Brooks.

Bailey attended kindergarten at Konawa Public Schools. She was active in basketball, the Natalie Walker Dance Group and a member of The Clover Bud's.

Bailey was also a member of the Konawa Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Her great-grandparents, Harvey and Julia Duddon, Tom and Mae Crow, Daisy Corvin, Clifford Phillips, Kathryn Marie Gahagan and one great-uncle, Larry Corvin, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her parents; Tracy and Lori Brooks of the home; two brothers, Bradley Scott Hicks of Austin, Texas and Tyler Logan Brooks of the home; grandparents, Charles and Rosetta Brooks of Konawa, Harold and Gayle Sheppard of Roff, Okla., and Harvey and Cecelia Phillips of Stonewall, Okla.; aunts and uncles: Brian and Judy Brooks of Ada, Darryl and Angie Brooks of Konawa, Joe and Amber Brooks of Ada, Jeremiah and Debra Brooks of Ada, Amber and Chad Sliger of Stonewall, Dustin and Christi Sheppard of Ada and Cody and Kassi Sheppard of Roff; several cousins and a host of other family and friends.
