Charles Bruner, age 59, died Monday, Dec. 8, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, in Oklahoma City.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 13, at the First Baptist Church, in Konawa, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral, in Konawa. Rev. L.R. Drinkwater, Rev. Wilburn Bruner, and Rev. Famous Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bruner Cemetery, in Konawa.
He was born Jan. 16, 1949, in Oklahoma City, to Johnnie Bruner and Geneva (Nero) Bruner. Bruner attended Konawa elementary and later moved with his family to Oklahoma City. He served as Youth Leader of the Catholic Church, in the Walnut Grove Community. He lived also in Boston, Mass.
He worked at Leeway, Wilson Food Corporation and later worked as a taxi driver. He married Queen Lee in 1973. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, of Konawa.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Bruner, Jr., of Jefferson City, Miss., Michael D. Bruner and Quinton Bruner, both of Oklahoma City; step-daughter, Kathy Carrington, of Atlanta, Ga.; five brothers, Joseph Willie Bruner, Bryant (Mary) Bruner, Errol Bruner, and Michael Bruner, all of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Rebecca (Willie) Henderson and Charlesetta Branton, both of Oklahoma City; ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Geneva Bruner; and two brothers, John Dean Bruner and Jackie Lee Bruner
Pallbearers are Bryant Bruner, Errol Bruner, Michael Bruner, Charles Bruner, Jr., Michael Devon Bruner, Quinton Bruner, David young, and Alvin Williamson.
Dianna Bruner
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Dianne Jane Bruner are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Many Springs Baptist Church in Holdenville.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
Bruner, 64, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Ardmore. She was born April 7, 1944 in Ada to Ruben and Rose Orphan.
She attended Byng High School and on Sept. 12, 1969 she married Leon Alex Bruner in Durant.
Her parents; husband; a brother, Eugene Orphan; and a sister, Diann Anoatubby, preceded her in death.
Surviving are five children: Laura Gooden of Ardmore, Johnny Bruner, Sr. of Owasso, Leon Bruner, Jr., Michelle Bruner, and Michael Bruner, Jr., all of Ardmore; two brothers: Ruben and Levi; one sister, Lou; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Farentino Coody, Franklin Coody, Thomas Harjo, Billy Spain Jr., Gary Howard Jr., and John Evans.
Beverly Bryant
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Beverly Gay Bryant were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman.
Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman. Arrangements were under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Brayant, 55, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, after a long illness. She was born Sept. 1, 1952 in in Ada to Gilmer and Imogene (Sadler) Morgan of Wewoka.
After graduating from Wewoka High School in 1970, she attended the University of Oklahoma and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Technology, with an emphasis in Nuclear Medicine.
She later received a Master’s degree in Education and taught at Oscar Rose State College for 17 years and went on to become an Associate Professor of the Radiologic Technology Department at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center.
She and her husband, Tommy Bryant, had one child, Morgan, and enjoyed entertaining friends and hosting family activities.
Her father and husband of 32 years, Tommy, preceded her in death.
Surviving is daughter, Morgan Bryant; her mother, Imogene Morgan, both of Norman; and brother, Dr. Gil Morgan of Edmond.
Ernest Buchanan
Ernest Herbert Buchanan passed away quietly on Aug. 16, at the age of 82. Ernest was born in Dibble, on Dec. 7, 1925 to William M. and Emma Mae Berry Buchanan and attended Summers Chapel School.
He joined the Navy in 1944 at the age of 19 and was assigned to the USS Shasta, an ammunitions ship. The USS Shasta was engaged in several battles including Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Honshoe. She was headed to Pearl Harbor on Dec. 2, 1944 but did not arrive until Dec. 14 after the bombing. Ernest was honorably discharged in 1946 and returned to Oklahoma.
Ernest went on a blind date with Lena Mae Ashby, set up by her sister Faye and her boyfriend Bedell Wylie, also a friend of Ernest’s. Ernest and Lena Mae were married on May 18, 1948 in Purcell, and made their home in Bowlegs before moving to their farm in 1975. They had four children, a son Herbert, and three daughters, Linda, Anita and Sandra.
Ernest worked as a mechanic at Harmel Motors and Norton Ramsey Chevrolet in Seminole until he retired and began farming full time. He enjoyed running his dozer and raising cattle, working long hours keeping both operating smoothly.
He served on the Bowlegs Board of Education for ten years, was an active member of the Wolf Security Patrol, and member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife Lena Mae of 49 years, six brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Ernest is survived by his children, son Herbert and Kelley Buchanan of Maud, daughters Linda Ross and Charles Ray Troglin of Bowlegs, Anita and David Adams of Maud, and Sandra Buchanan of Berryville, Ark. Ernest was very proud of his grandchildren, Lori and Randy Lehman, Lisa and Mike Brown, Tammy and Eric Douthit, Stephanie Adams, Sarah Adams, Christian Adams, Brian and Jesi O’Daniel, Brett and Danielle O’Daniel, and Lesley O’Daniel as well as his 13 great grandchildren, Cody, Chance, Garrett, Daria, Turner, Levi, Cashe, Casey, Tyler, Ryan, Ty, Isabelle and Telissa. Two brothers, Berry "Buck" and Betty Buchanan, Floyd Doris and Susie Buchanan, and sister Ethel and Skip Lambright, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews also survived Ernest.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate. Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Randy Lehman, Mike Brown, Brain O’Daniel, Brett O’Daniel, Mickey Ashby, Merrick Ashby.
Honorary Bearers will be Jim Lyman, Chris Baldwin and Maurice Ashby.
Loette Buckner
Services for former Seminole resident Loette Buckner will be held at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gary Wilburn and Tommy Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Garden, 500 S.W. 104th, Oklahoma City.
Buckner died Saturday, Nov. 8, in Illinois, at the age of 93. She was born on Dec. 15, 1914, in Five Points, Ala. to Helen Cleo (Trammell) and Simeon Durward Higgins.
She married Sherman Buckner on July 15, 1938, in Altus; he preceded her in death in 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was also a member of the Democratic Women Association and Self Culture Club.
She retired in 1976 from Baptist Hospital, in Oklahoma City, where she was a Hospital Personnel Officer. She moved to Seminole from Mangum in 1984 and lived in Seminole until 2005 when she moved to Illinois with her daughter and son-in-law, Brynda and Willis.
She is survived by her daughter, Brynda McCoy of East Alton, Ill.; two sons, Bruce Buckner, of Oklahoma City, and Wayne Buckner, of Sante Fe, N.M.; brother, A.C. Davis, of Willow; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Her parents and her husband Sherman Buckner precede her in death.
Casket bearers will be: Durward Higgins, Gary Vitosky, Bruce Buckner, Wayne Buckner, Willis McCoy and Damon McCoy.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.

Ruby Bullington
Funeral services for longtime former Konawa resident Ruby Lee (Fox) Pendley Kennedy Bullington are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa with Rev. Mark Streetman officiating.
Burial is to follow at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Bullington, 91, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Grace Living Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 12, 1916 in Sasakwa to J.A. Fox and Mary Savannah (York) Fox.
On Sept. 27, 1933 she married Floyd Pendley in Konawa and he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1976.
She later married William "Bill" Kennedy on March 5, 1978 in Konawa and he preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1982.
On Aug. 10, 1983 she married Melvin "Pete" Bullington in Eufaula and he preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2002.
Bullington was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Konawa.
Her parents; one infant daughter, Norma Lee Pendley (1937); three brothers; and one sister, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Alma Jo Patton and Dorothy Massey, both of Stringtown; two sons: Jerry Don Pendley and Ronald Pendley, both of Oklahoma City; two sisters: Elsie Buchanan of Missouri and Eula Mae Townsend of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be: Harold Massey Jr., Michael Massey, Sean Pendley, Arnold Pendley, Shay Patton and Cyndi Lowe.
Louise Bundy
Graveside services for Mary Louise Bundy, 84, of Ada, are scheduled for 10a.m., Wednesday, at Rosedale Cemetery. Rev. Glen Pence will officiate.
Mrs. Bundy died Monday, Aug. 25, at a local nursing home. She was born April 28, 1924 at Ada, to Alfred and Faye Louise Allen Vaden.
She graduated from Horace Mann High School.
She married Garland A. Bundy in 1942. He died in 2003. She and her family lived in the Seminole area for 56 years and she and her husband owned and operated Bundy Seat Cover Center. She moved back to this area in June 2003 from Seminole.
Mrs. Bundy was a member of the First Christian Church in Seminole.
Survivors include two daughters, Janan Kautz, Seminole, and Susan Hanna, Allen, Texas; two grandchildren, Eric and Audrey Hanna; and a sister, Carolyn Riggs, Ada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers, Al Joe "Sonny" Vaden and David Vaden.

Brandon Burgett
Brandon Burgett, 20 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 6, 2008.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the First Baptist Church Seminole with Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Brandon was born on August 18, 1987 in Houston, Texas to Jayna Knight and Michael Burgett. He graduated from The Woodlands High School in Texas in 2006.
Brandon moved to Seminole, Oklahoma to begin his studies at Seminole State where he earned his Associate Degree in 2008. Brandon would have attended The University of Oklahoma this fall, which was his lifetime dream.
Brandon will be remembered and loved as being a compassionate, loving and caring person. His faith and family were Brandon’s priorities. He had a passion for his Lord, which he shared with many.
Brandon is survived by his mother and stepfather Jayna and Gene Knight, father and stepmother, Michael and Lynda Burgett, special parents, Bruce and Tandi Coates. Sister, Cheyenne Knight, step-brothers, Blake and Zachary Knight, Brandon and Kyle Miller and Joshua Hoffman. Grandparents, Pat and Freid Atyia, Carroll and Fern Knight, Sam and Mary Lou Kusmanoff and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two grandfather’s James Crawford and Edward Burgett.
Pallbearers will include, Dru Finley, Colt Kreeger, Chris Conway, Diego Colmenares, Garrett Coates, Michael Coates, Cooper Payne and Josh Smith.
Honorary Bearers will be Friends from Baptist Student Ministry, and First Baptist Church Youth and Falls Creek Staff.
Memorials may be made in Brandon’s honor to the First Baptist Church in Seminole or Falls Creek Building Fund.
