Graveside services for Konawa resident Bobby Joe Carnes are scheduled for Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. at Vamoosa Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Perry officiating.
Carnes, 44, died on Jan. 5 at Valley View Hospital in Ada.
He was born on April 2, 1963 in Ada to Albert and Juanita Griffin Carnes and attended Vanoss Schools.
Carnes married Terri Louise Taylor and served a term in the United States National Guard.
He moved to the Konawa area from Ada 16 years ago.
He was a self-employed concrete finisher and operator of Jerry’s Service Station in Konawa.
Carnes is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Bobby Wayne Sonny Boone Carnes, of the home, Konawa; one brother, Ed Graves, Konawa; and two sisters, Sue Shahan, Fitzhuh, Billie Teel, Ada.
Interment will take place at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
Richard Carolina
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Richard Carolina Sr. are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Wewoka with Bishop Bobby L. Williams and Overseer Rev. John T. Berry, MC.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Carolina, 92, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Seminole. He was born Aug. 4, 1015 in Wewoka to Manuel and Jennetta (Sango) Carolina.
He attended Sam’s School District #20 and later served in the military during World War II in Normandy, France as a Rifleman 2, earning two Bronzer Stars and a Victory Medal.
Carolina worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 42 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed fish, gardening, baseball and spending time with his family and friends after his retirement. Overseer John T. Berry baptized him.
His parents; brothers: Walter and Ralph Carolina; sister, Maggie Hollins; wife; son, Richard Carolina Jr.; and daughter, May Carolina, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children: Wendolyn Farrier and Gloria Watson, both of Oklahoma City, Earl Carolina, Jimmie Carolina, and Brenda Carolina, all of Wewoka, and Pam Johnson of Seminole; 20 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
David Carolina, Sr.
David "Buck" D. Carolina, Sr., age 68, died Tuesday, Nov. 25.
He was a retired supervisor for the City of Oklahoma, of 38 years
His wife, Joyce, survives him.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 2, at Fairview Baptist Church. Interment will be at Westwood Cemetery, in Wewoka, under the direction of Temple & Sons Funeral Directors, Inc.
Ural Carolina
Services for Wewoka resident Ural Carolina are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Church of Christ, 4th and Mekusukey in Wewoka, with Bro. George Shirley officiating.
Interment is to follow at Westwood Cemetery and dinner will be served after the service at Cedar Street Church of Christ.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Ural Carolina was born to Frank and Bertha (Grayson) Carolina on Sept. 11, 1935. He attended Austin Grove School in Bearden, Okla.
Ural Carolina moved to Nobletown at an early age where he worked for Commercial Brick, Clay Pipe and City of Wewoka before retiring in 1984.
He met and married March 27, 1978 Maedean Bruner Carolina, his wife of 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, and planting his garden. His heart was bigger than life.
Above all he loved his family and friends and always acknowledge God as his Savior. Ural was a member of the Cedar Street Church of Christ Family.
His father, Frank; mother, Bertha; wife, Maedean (2005); brother, Sherman; son, Terry Lane; nephew, Morris; sister, Ester Smith, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish two daughters, Dondie Gordon Britt and Gloria Porter, both of Virginia: five sons: Ned Bruner, Paul Bruner (Kim) of California, Joe Don Gordon of Wewoka, Rick Burton (Myra) of Oklahoma City, and Tony Bruner of California; two nieces: Marquitta (Cosby) of Shawnee, and Harris (Fox) of Wewoka; one nephew, Rickey Samuels of Shawnee; 14 granddaughters; four grandsons; 18 great-grandchildren; and a very large host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Sonny cherished four special people: one niece, Harris; grandbaby, Natasha Britt; nephew, Pat; and Aunt Clarine.
Hollis Carpenter, Jr.
Hollis Orville Carpenter Jr. died Saturday, Nov. 22, in Oklahoma City, leaving a big void in many lives. He was born Jan. 9, 1946, in Wewoka, to Hollis and Lois Carpenter.
Hollis attended Bowlegs High School, graduating in 1964. He married Ruth Ann Graves Feb. 27, 1965. He was drafted in Aug. 1966 by the Army and served in Vietnam.
Hollis was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, camp and fish.
He was self-employed for several years in trucking, hauling rock and gravel. He owned and operated Hollis’s Garage, in Oklahoma City and later went to work for Atlantic Richfield, in Seminole, Price, Texas and Taylor, Ark.
He returned to Oklahoma in 1992 to work for Enogex, in Davenport to help build a new plant and he transferred to Calumet in 1998 to run the gas plant there. He moved to Blanchard in 2006 and was retired because of his health.
He has four sons and one daughter; Aaron Carpenter, of Blanchard, Jonathan and Mandy Carpenter, of Burbank, Calif., Gauge Carpenter, of Blanchard, and Jesse Carpenter, of Blanchard.
Services will be at the Assembly of God Church in Tuttle, Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. Brother Andy Teston will be preaching the sermon. Burial will be at Little Cemetery, in Seminole, at 1:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Troy Carpenter, Jerry Carpenter, Troy Carpenter Jr., Jonathan Carpenter, David Graves and Trey Reed.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwayne Moore, CL Dyer, Don Delozier and Jim Minter.

Louise (Reynolds) Carpenter
Louise (Reynolds) Carpenter, 84 year-old, longtime Seminole resident passed from this life Monday, May 19, 2008 at her home in Seminole.
She was born March 23, 1924 in Wilson, Oklahoma to parents Exie "Irene" (Hogue) Reynolds and Earl Reynolds.
Louise married Norman Howard Carpenter on December 31, 1942 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They lived in Ulysses, Kansas for 27 years, from 1961 to 1988, then returned to Seminole.
Louise had worked as a cosmetologist and a homemaker, retiring in 1977. She loved to quilt and enjoyed needlepoint projects. But most of all she loved God and her family dearly. She and her husband have been active members of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 65 years, Norman Carpenter of the home. Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Don Carpenter of Norman, Oklahoma and Rusty and his wife Allison Carpenter of Norman, Oklahoma.
Three grandchildren also survive, Bret Carpenter of Norman, Oklahoma, Dustin and his wife Avery Carpenter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Nicole Carpenter of Norman, Oklahoma. Other survivors include two great grandchildren, Braxton and Rylee Carpenter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a host of other family and dear friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother, Donald Reynolds.
Casket Bearers will be: Bruce Coates, Neil Craig, Mark Dicus, James Hayes, Larry McMains, Ron Sosbee, Ken Green and Ernie Willis.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Dr. Tommy Clark will officiate with interment following at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Jeffrey Caudill
Jeffrey Adam Caudill died Thursday, Oct. 2, while working on his job as a ranch hand in Wetumka. He was forty-six years old.
He was the son of James and Dortha (Green) Caudill, born on April 15, 1962 in Wewoka. The family moved to Modesto, Calif. when Caudill was very young, and returned to Wewoka when he was ten years old.
He attended Wewoka schools, then worked for many years in the oil field. He worked the past four years for Baker Finishing Farms, as ranch hand and then as foreman. He fished and hunted
His father, James Caudill, preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2007.
He is survived by his mother, Dortha, of the home; four sisters, Doris Brown, of Holdenville, Renee Foster, of Wewoka, Annette Conley and Jamie Caudill, both of Holdenville; and one brother, Greg Caudill, of Wewoka
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7, 10:30a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, in Holdenville. Internment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery, in Wewoka. Rev. Larry Chesser and Rev. Rick Madron are the officiating ministers.
Pallbearers are Michael Hamilton, Joshua Caudill, Chad Caudill, Michael Conley, Shawn Conley, Mark Foster, Mike Foster and Larry Brown.
Honorary pallbearers are Austin Elliott, Tony Ogle and Curtis Tollett.

Lou Ann Cervantes
Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Lou Ann Cervantes are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at New Hope Church.
Interment is to follow at the McGirt Family Cemetery, Sasakwa. Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka and Lowell-Times, Altus.
Cervantes, 49, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Jackson County Hospital, surrounded by her friends and family, after a long illness of cancer and diabetes.
She was born Nov. 11, 1958 in Oklahoma City to Jimmie and Flora (Johnson) McGirt. She graduated from Wewoka High School and worked various jobs throughout her life; most recently at Wal-Mart, where she was a cashier.
On April 24, 1984 she married Raul Cervantes in Altus.
Her mother (April 1985) preceded her in death.
Surviving is her father, Jimmie McGirt of Wewoka; husband of Altus; sons: Gavin McGirt, Damien McGirt, and Antonio Cervantes, all of Altus; brothers: Bobby McGirt of Holdenville, Roland McGirt of Glenrose, Texas, Paul McGirt of Oklahoma City, Randy McGirt of Ada, and Reginald McGirt of Louisiana; and sisters: Wynette Wildcat of Seminole, Shirley Tiger of Oklahoma City, and Sally Davis of Ft. Smith, Ark.
Jenny Chaffin
Funeral service for Jenny Marie Chaffin are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Bro. Glenn Peck officiating.
Burial is to follow at Mars Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Chaffin, 23 of St. Louis, Okla., died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 in Shawnee. She was born June 23, 1984 in Shawnee to James M. Chaffin and Tammy Jo Berry.
She attended Weleetka Elementary School, Macomb Middle School, and was a graduate of Graham High School.
Chaffin worked in childcare and she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her children and her sister.
Her maternal grandparents, Hazel Putman, Odie Putman and Frank Berry; her paternal grandfather, John Chaffin; twin brothers, Colby and Casey Brooks; and stepfather, John W. Brooks, III, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her mother and stepfather, Tammy Jo and Jason Brooks of St. Louis, Okla.; her father, James Michael Chaffin of Okemah; sisters, Isabella Kay Brooks of St. Louis and Allison Cole Chaffin of Okemah; brother, James Chaffin of Okemah; and sons, Everett Michael Porter of St. Louis and Adrian Cole Chaffin of Wetumka.
