Mrs. Cannady died April 15, 2005, at Avenal. She was born April 19, 1941, at Bentonville, Ark., to George Laren and Nona Hanson Bates.’
She moved to Avenal, Calif., from Wewoka. She graduated from Wewoak High school and was a seamstress and waitress. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Cannady was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nona Bates; a sister, Lucille Bates Bush; a brother, Larry Bates; a son, Toby; and grandson, Christopher.

Ms. Tatum died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1938, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Clayton and Mildred Goodman Ackley.
She graduated from Clark High School in South Dakota and received a bachelor’s of arts degree from East Central University. She moved to this area in 1971 from San Diego, California.
Ms. Tatum was employed by the state of Oklahoma with the Court-Related Children Services. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim Harris and husband Bill, Fittstown, and Dee Swenson, San Antonio, Texas; three sons, David Hilsabeck and wife Beckey, Kiowa, Oklahoma, Clay Hilsabeck and wife Janet, Victoria, Texas and Darin Hilsabeck and wife Tammy, Ft. Carson, Colorado; one brother, Douglas Goodnow and wife Louise, Bivins, Texas; two sisters, Jo Larson and husband Rick, Plankinton, South Dakota and Janice Henwood, Fittstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jay Alexander, one brother, Darrel Ackley, a nephew, Travis Larson and a great grandson, Tyler McCracken.

HEALDTON — Services for Montie Inez “Bun” Scott Murphy, 94, Healdton, formerly of Stonewall, are 1 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, grandson, David L. Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.
Mrs. Murphy died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at a Healdton hospital. She was born Nov. 12, 1910, at Frisco to Joseph Riley and Millie May Beck Scott.
She attended school at Union Valley and Latta High School.
She married Bedford Forrest “Bud” Murphy on December 24, 1930 at Union Valley. He died Aug. 13, 1995, in Healdton.
She and her husband moved to Rush Springs in the summer of 1957 until they relocated to Healdton in the spring of 1993. Mrs. Murphy was a homemaker and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Stonewall and Rush Springs, singing in the choir and teaching children’s Sunday school and also Sunday school for adults for many years. She served as president of the United Methodist Women for years and was active in missions. Later, she was a member of the Healdton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Murphy was also a cook for the Lions Club luncheons for many years.
Survivors include a son, Bedford E. Murphy and wife Betty Jo, Healdton; one son-in-law, Lloyd Daniel, Healdton; one daughter-in-law, Clara Nell of Ray Wood, Texas; two sisters, Millie Maude “Sis” Scott Chaffin, Oklahoma City, and Drusilla “Dru” Jo Scott Denny, Roswell, N.M.; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with an extended family, very special friends and neighbors and church family from both Rush Springs and Healdton.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Joe Murphy and Norman Franklin “Frank” Murphy, a daughter, Shirley Ann Daniel, one grandson, Kenton Lance Murphy, three brothers, William “Bill” Scott, Ivan “Jerry” Scott, Herman “Mick” Scott, and two sisters, Winnie May Scott and Ruby Goodby.
Bearers will be Bryce E. Murphy, Jim Hill, Freddy Tayar, Carl Ogburn , Frank Murphy, Lloyd Daniel and Lanny Murphy. Honorary bearers will be her great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maud Green, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include a son, Don Taylor, Wilie, Texas; a daughter, Karen Madlock, Olive; a sister, Hazel Bennett, Ada; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Phillips died April 6, 2005, at his home. He was born Oct. 30, 1926, at Kansas City, Mo., to William Parker and Ethel Mae Riffe Phillips.
He graduated from Dougherty High School and from Pepperdine University at Los Angeles, Calif. He moved with his family to Ada about 1946.
He was a loan officer for Oklahoma State Bank and Citizens Bank in Ada, and later for Associated Milk Producers at Oklahoma City. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and a former Kiwanian. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Camille Blevins Oct. 9, 1952.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Camille Phillips; a son, Dale Phillips and his wife Claudia, McLoud; a daughter, Vicki Kelley and her husband Gary, Ada; three grandchildren, Wade Parker Phillips, Lacy Baker and Casey Kelley; two great-grandchildren, Shannon Baker and Jacob Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
