Funeral services for former Seminole resident Phyllis Sue Enos are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark.
Enos, 71 of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 at her home near Rocky Branch, Ark. She was born April 18, 1936 in Okmulgee to Cliff and Mary Spear Pair.
She attended Seminole High School and was known as "Flippy" by her friends and family.
Surviving is her husband, Don Enos of the home; one son, Neil Don Enos of Loxahatchee, Fla.; two daughters: Deborah Donovan and Rebecca Wingate, both of Fayetteville, Ark.; one brother, Gayle Pair of Seminole; two sisters: Pat Post of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Judy Starkey of Siloam Springs, Ark; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
June Estes-Wilson
June Lavern Estes-Wilson, a 69-year-old Grove resident, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 20, 2008.
She was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Seminole, Okla., to Howard and Opal (Wilson) Estes.
She worked as a secretary for public school systems in Texas before she moved back to Oklahoma.
June is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Opal Estes, and a grandson, Virgil Len Landrum.
Survivors include her husband Paul L. Wilson of the home; a daughter Shirley Bridges and husband Paul of Grove; three sons, Lance Wilson and wife Pat of Fairland, Darrell Wilson and wife Vicki of Dumas, Texas, and Paul L. Wilson Jr. of Elk City; two brothers, Gene Estes and wife Kay of Seminole, and Dean Estes and wife Liz of Seminole; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Wilson will be at the Hickory Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Jim Waller officiating.
Interment is under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
Casketbearers will be Michael Landrum, Shannon Landrum, Sean Bridges, Eric Bridges, Jason Carter and Brandon Wilson.
Clyde Fairbanks
There are no services planned for former Wewoka resident Clyde Eugene Fairbanks.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Fairbanks, 81, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 13, 1926 in Prague.
On Nov. 1, 1946 in Wewoka he married Billie Streater and they were married for 53 years, she preceded him n death on Nov. 2, 1999.
Fairbanks was an employee of Tinker Air Force Base in the maintenance department.
His parents, wife, and son Tommy preceded him n death.
Surviving are his children: Terry Fairbanks of Earlsboro, Beverly Johnson of Garland, Texas, and Ricky Fairbanks of Farmsville, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Neely Farmer
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Neely May Farmer will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Nazarene Church in Wewoka.
Rev. Meredith Robinson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka and will be under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Farmer died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at the Wewoka Nursing Center at the age of 98.
She was born in Coffeyville, Kan., on Nov. 26, 1909.
She is preceded in death by her loving sisters, Agnes Lee Farmer and Mary Lucilla Farmer.
All three sisters lived together in Wewoka for almost 80 years except for the years Lucilla worked in Oklahoma City.
Neely was a dedicated Christian and a member of the Nazarene Church in Wewoka.
She and her sister rarely missed any service.
She was a loving sister and devote Christian. The three sisters dedicated themselves to their cherished mother’s care for many years.
Neely and her sister had always been a symbol in the town of Wewoka and surrounding areas of a loving, caring sisterhood and a tribute to loyalty and faithfulness.
Bertha Farris
Funeral services for longtime Wewoka resident Bertha Farris are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wewoka with her cousin, Rev. A.A. Jackson, officiating.
Interment is to follow at Sowatske Family Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Myers Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Bertha was born in Seminole County (Sowatske) on May 5, 1913 to Henry "Cherry" and Sarah Johnson. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at Elmwood Nursing Home.
Bertha attended school in Minnesota and graduated from Wewoka Douglas in 1928. She attended and graduated from beauty school and started her own beauty shop. In those days you only paid 15 cents for a hairstyle.
She was married to Joe Farris for 55 years and he preceded her in death.
Bertha was president of Wewoka Chapter of NAACP and she was a member of the Westside Concerned Citizens, the Westside Park Board, and member of the Black Beauticians of the State of Oklahoma.
She was honored in June 1989 for her years of teaching, and dedicated service to the Beauticians of Oklahoma.
Bertha united with the St. Matthew Baptist Church on April 19, 1924 and she has been a faithful member for 84 years.
"Old Christmas" and Founder’s Day were her special days at St. Matthew.
Bertha is survived by her cousins: Robert Lee Dial, J.C. Simpson, Jr., Eva Cooper, Mary Hardeman, Doris Hubbard, Jo Ann Harris, Eugene Mayes, Jeanie Marie Mayes, and Rev. A.A. Jackson; and other family and friends.
Gary Faulkner
Funeral services for Holdenville resident Gary L. Faulkner, 48, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008 at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville.
Faulkner’s brothers, Danny and Tony Faulkner, will officiate.
Internment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
An evening prayer services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at the funeral home chapel.
Faulkner was born July 27, 1960 in Holdenville to Elsie (McGirt) and James Dale Faulkner.
He attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne and worked as a firefighter for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Faulkner was on the special response team that searched for debris from the crash of the Space Shuttle Columbia.
He was a hard worker and a member of the Ministry of Life Church in Wewoka.
He enjoyed poetry, woodworking, drawing, fishing, and lifting weights.
His mother, Elsie Faulkner, and brothers, Larry Faulkner and Samuel Powell preceded him in death.
Faulkner is survived by his twin daughters, Melissa Paschal of Wewoka and Monica Paschal of Muskogee; his father, James Dale Faulkner of Holdenville; six brothers, Fred Billy of Holdenville, Jimsey McGirt of Helena, Danny Faulkner of Wewoka, Terry Faulkner of Stringtown, Tony Faulkner of Tulsa, and Ricky Faulkner of Tulsa; three sisters, Lucille Farber of Holdenville, Janie Harjo of Holdenville, and Teresa Conley of Wewoka; seven grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Farber, Craig Farber, Steven McGirt, Randall Billy, Jamie Powell, and Nicholas Faulkner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Kalinich, Chris Johnson, Kevin Brewer, Timmy Postoak, Vincent Harjo, and Jerry Brown.
Frank Feken
Former Seminole resident Frank Feken, 61, of Stillwater, Okla., died on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Stillwater.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Harder officiating.
Interment will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Perry, Okla.
Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on July 14, 1947, in Enid, Okla., to Ed Feken and Laura (Gray) Feken.
He graduated from Perry High School in 1965 and at-tended Northern Oklahoma Junior College. He married Karen Devlin in 1968 and they later divorced. He married Janet (Klein) Netherton on June 8, 1991, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry, Okla.
He worked in the grocery business for 45 years. He was manager of Safeway in Seminole before moving to Stillwater where he was the produce manager at Consumer’s IGA for the past 27 years.
He bowled in bowling leagues in Seminole, Perry, and Stillwater for more than 30 years and was also an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Ben Feken; one son, Daniel Sean Feken; and one nephew, Eddie Feken.
He is survived by his wife Janet Feken of Stillwater, Okla.; two sons, Zane Feken and his wife Katie of Seminole, Okla., and Chadd Feken and his wife Sonya of Tecumseh, Okla.; three daughters, Laurie Lewis and her husband Johnny of Seminole, Okla., Lisa Camp and her husband Jay of Tecumseh, Okla., and Kristy Emmitt and her husband Donald of Seminole, Okla.; two step-daughters, Ginnie Graham and her husband Jeff of Tulsa, Okla., and Carrie Salce and her husband David of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Eddie Feken and his wife Kathy of Perry, Okla., and Fred Feken and his wife Valerie of Tulsa, Okla.; and one sister, Darlene Klein and her husband Bill of Perry, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; Jeff and Shay Lewis, Hailey and Jayce Camp, Dusty and Blake Emmitt, Thaddius and Nicole Feken, Cameron, Shyler, and Kailee Feken, Donavon, Kelsey, and Jasmine Phillips, Louis and Olivia Graham; and one great-grandchild, Jacob Lewis.
Charles Ferguson
Charles A. Ferguson, age 72, died, in Oklahoma City on Oct. 3.
He was a former resident of Holdenville and attended school in Spaulding.
Ferguson was born March 11, 1936, to Ben and Barbara (Graham) Ferguson, both preceded him in death.
He was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country for 11 years.
Survivors include brothers, Frank Ferguson, of Pueblo, Colo. and J. B. Ferguson, of W. Va; sisters, Jeri Castle, of Seattle, Wash., Beverly Streater, of Wewoka, and Patti Henwood, of Mesa, Ariz.
Services were scheduled for 2p.m., Oct. 6, at the Hudson Phillips Funeral Home. Military rites followed, at the Holdenville Cemetery.
John Ferrell
Memorial services for Sasakwa resident John Henry "Cotton" Ferrell are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Assembly of God Church, Sasakwa, with Rev. Wesley Martin officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Blanton, 76, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at his residence. He was born Feb. 20, 1932 in Sasakwa to John Henry Ferrell, Sr., and Kitty Jane (Barnard) Ferrell.
On Sept. 28, 1952 he married Margaret Vaughan in Weatherford, Texas. He worked for Lee Way and AFB as a truck driver.
His parents, one sister, and five brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of Sasakwa; sons: John Michael Ferrell of Oklahoma City, Shawn Mitchell Ferrell of Port Angela, Wash., and Curtis Dewane Ferrell of Refield, Ark.; and eight grandchildren.
