Funeral services for Wewoka native Irene (Berryhill) Freeman are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church, Sasakwa, with Rev. Ken Cooper officiating and assisted by Pastor Houston Tiger.
Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bird Creek Indian Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Freeman died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 74 years. She was born July 16, 1933 in Wewoka to Charlie and Lucy (Reed) Berryhill.
She attended school at Eufaula Boarding School and after graduation she was a cook and worked in security for American Airlines.
Freeman was a member of Springfield Methodist Church in Okemah; Thlopthlocco Band; and the Tiger Clan. She enjoyed shaking shell at the New Tulsa Stomp Grounds.
Her parents; son, David L. Morgan; brothers: Walter Lena, Newman Lena, Pete Lena, and Russell Valdez; sisters, Marie Cleveland and Peggy Lena Mahone; and one grandson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children: Malcolm T. Morgan, Alta G. Morgan, and Phealan P. Morgan, all of Tulsa, Alvena A. Ayala of Edmond, Algeron G. Morgan, Jr. of Shawnee, Richard D. Morgan of Nashville, Tenn., Jimmy R. Culley of Tulsa, Eddie L. Freeman of Chito, Calif., Bernice K. Freeman of Tulsa, and Margaret J. Freeman of Jenks; 35 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Louie Lena, Wendel Williams, Douglas Worcester, Larry Tiger, Christopher Tiger, Carmen O. Ayala, Malcolm Freeman, and Myron Yepa.
Honorary bearers will be: Harold Meek, Wendel Williams Jr., William Bacca, Jessie Keith, and Eloy Gonzales.
Dorothy Fry
Funeral services for Seminole native Dorothy V. Fry are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel.

Dorothy, 76, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 in Midwest City. She was born Oct. 29, 1931 in Seminole to Otto and Carrie Sexton.
She was reared in Seminole before living in San Diego and New York City. After returning to Oklahoma, she lived in Altus for several years before moving to the Pink-Tecumseh area in 1975,
Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Seminole High School and in the 1970’s she attended Rose State College, where she pursued and Associate’s degree in Psychology.
On July 20, 1967 she married John Fry in Okemah.
She as the head of the Minute Man Program in Washington, D.C. National Guard and was retired from Tinker Air Force Base.
Dorothy was a member of the Shawnee Tractor and Engine Club; the Oklahoma Steam Threshers; Toastmasters at Tinker and Broadway United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports.
Her parents; one son, Jacob Miller; one brother, Bernard Sexton; one grandchild, Debby Miller; and one stepson, Conrad Fry, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, John Fry, of the home; three sons and three daughters-in-law: Richard Fry, Daniel and Donna Fry of Milwaukee, Wis., Shane and Vivian Fry of McLoud, and Mary Bauer of Midwest City; grandchildren and their spouses: Sheryl Robertson of Mildenhall, England, Heather Miller of Sayer, Okla., Shane and Brandy Fry of Norman, John Fry of Noble, and Timothy and Sharon Fry of Moore; and five great-grandchildren.
Susie Fulcher
A vigil for Susie (Sue) Mae Fulcher was held on Jan. 25, 2008 p.m. and the memorial mass was held on Jan. 26 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Buena Vista, Colo.
Sue Fulcher,71, died of natural causes in her Buena Vista, Colo., home on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008. She was born on April 21, 1936 to Dalton Fulcher and Laura Vivian Campbell in Fredericksburg, Va.
She had a daughter and two sons with her first husband, Daniel B. Atkins; and a daughter in her second marriage to Jerry L. Cowden.
Sue lived in Virginia, Washington, D.C., Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas; before moving to Colorado in the 1960’s.
She loved her Lord, her children, her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Sue was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Buena Vista. Her other interests include sewing, crocheting, canning, reading, ceramics and baking. Sue’s biscuits and pies were legendary.
As a Colorado businesswoman, Sue operated Lloyd’s Smoke Shop and Bookateria in Salida for 20 years in the 1970s and 1980s, and opened the S&V Bookateria in Buena Vista Square in the early 1990s.
These bookstores carried mostly used paperbacks and when the Climax Mine was closed in the 1980s, her shop was popular with the laid-off miners who could exchange books or purchase used copies for a nominal charge.
Her parents and four babies preceded her in death.
Sue is survived by her husbands; her children: Theresa Sue Wilson of Seminole, James Alfred Atkins and his wife Chris of Glencoe, David Boyd Atkins and his wife Kathy of Tacoma, Wash., and Vicki Lee Rowe and her husband Johnny of Salida, Colo.; her brother, Alvin Robert Fulcher and his wife Edie of Miami, Fla.; and her sister, Betty Dice and her husband Harry of Ocean View, Del.
In addition, she is survived by two uncles: Peter Campbell of Fredericksburg, Va., and James Campbell of Spotsylvania, Va.; her grandchildren: Danny Atkins and wife Amy, Joseph Atkins and wife Erin, and Lauretta Atkins, all of Puyallup, Wash., Jacualyn Heinrich and husband Justin of Stillwater, Julia Atkins of Glencoe, Tanya Malerba and husband Dennis of Costa Rica, Travis Wilson and Sonny of Seminole, and Dabad Rowe of Salida, Colo.; her great-grandchildren: Lily and Autumn Atkins of Puyallup, Wash. and Zoey Wilson of Seminole; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Johnny Gammons
Graveside services for Johnny K. Gammons are to be held at 2p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home with Terry Newell officiating.
Johnny passed away at home on Monday, Aug. 18, at the age of 59. He was born in Wewoka, to Roy Gammons and Bernetta Hamilton Gammons.
A graduate of Sasakwa High School, Johnny served in Viet Nam in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, Johnny lived in Holdenville for a time and was a member of the 4th and Broadway Church of Christ.
He worked in Tulsa for Anchor Drilling Fluids USA as a drilling fluid engineer and on Nov. 3, 2000, he married Jacquie Little; together they lived in Shawnee.
Johnny loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, antiques, playing guitar and mandolin and all types of music.
Johnny’s parents, Roy and Bernetta Gammons; his first wife and mother of his children, Sheryl Gammons; two sisters, Betty Gammons and Audrey Jones; and three brothers, J.D. Gammons, Roy E. Gammons, and Max Gammons preceded him in death.
Survivors are Johnny’s wife, Jacquie, of the home; children, Rex Gammons of Spaulding and Kari Gammons of Oklahoma City; brothers, DeRay Gammons and wife, Sue, of Wilburton; James Gammons and wife, Judy, of Sasakwa; brother-in-law, Dale Jones; sisters: Eunice Smith of Dallas, Texas; Lois Boyce of Tulsa; Wanda Shores and husband, Don, of Ada; mother-in-law, Barbara Prince of Holdenville and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rudolph Garfield
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Rudolph Garfield are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka with Rev. B.G. Renfro officiating.
Burial is to follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka.
Garfield, 63, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Creek Nation Hospital in Okemah. He was born Jan. 23, 1945 in Sasakwa to Anderson Reese Garfield and Dora Ann Moore.
He graduated from Sasakwa High School and later moved to Wewoka. On Sept. 2, 1982 he married Ethel Dindy
Garfield was a member of Thomas Town Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He was a member of the Trustee Board, was a Sunday school Superintendent, as well as a Sunday school teacher.
He was the owner of Rudy’s Stump Removal Service. Garfield worked for the Wewoka Police Department for 20 years and the City of Wewoka for nine years.
Garfield also worked for Seminole County for one year and was a security guard for the Seminole Nation.
His parents; one sister, Elnora; and one brother, Ed, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of the home; sons: Rodney Dindy-Garfield of Spencer, Roland Garfield of Wewoka, Reginald B. Garfield of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Randolph Garfield of Tahlequah; two daughters: Shanda L. Davis of Lawton and Shannon Lee of Edmond; sisters: Lula M. Samilton of Wewoka, Dezeere Bradshaw of Wewoka, and Linda Cochran of Stonewall; one brother, L.B. Garfield of Eufaula; and six grandchildren.
Wilma Garroutte
Funeral services for Seminole resident, Wilma Parsons Garroutte are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Glen Pence officiating.
Burial is to follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
Mrs. Garroutte passed away Saturday, March 8,2008 in Tecumseh. She was born Feb. 21, 1919 in Paden to Jess E. and Pansy L. (Allen) Parsons.
She was a resident of Seminole for most of her adult life and had attended school in Maud and Tecumseh. Wilma graduated in 1937 from Tecumseh High School.
On Dec. 31, 1968, she married Vincent Garroutte in Holdenville and he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1977.
She worked for 14 years for Pottawatomie County as a Deputy Court Clerk. Mrs. Garroutte then served as a deputy Court Clerk in Oklahoma City before moving to Seminole, where she worked for Seminole County as a Deputy Court Clerk.
Mrs. Garroutte was a member of the First Christian Church in Seminole.
Her parents; two sisters: Vivian Horner and Pauline Ellis; one brother, James E. "Bud" parsons; one nephew, Bobby J. "Cowboy" Robertson; and one great-nephew, Cody Robertson, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are nieces: Darla Furr of Tecumseh, Patricia Houck of Arlington, Texas, and Pamela Yerby of Hunt, Texas; and nephews: Tony Ellis of Del City, Mike Parsons of Houston, Texas, and Donnie Horner of San Antonio, Texas; and several great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Stacy Geraldon
Stacy Lynn Geraldon died on Aug. 24, at the age of 42 in Ada.
He was born on May 31, 1966 in Seminole, to Barbara Ellen (Stacy) Dooley. He worked on pipelines until he was disabled.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Ellen Dooley of Locust Grove, four sisters: Shana Crosby of Ada, Rachel Geraldon and Brianna Geraldon of Midwest City, and Beth Geraldon of Texas.
Services are scheduled for 3:30p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud with Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Tyler Crosby, Logan Crosby, Tiny Blaylock, Brent Blaylock, Gary Melton and Jeff McCoy.
Kathleen Gibson
Funeral service for Kathleen "Kitten" Gibson, of Wewoka, is pending with Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
She died on Thursday, Oct. 23, in Wewoka.
Service is set for 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel. Full obit will run later.
Oscar Gillespie
Oscar Gillespie, 84-year-old longtime Seminole County resident died Sept. 24, at his home. He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Ryan, to parents Doc G. Gillespie and Ruby Bell (Barker) Gillespie. He moved to Seminole 65 years ago from Idabel.
Gillespie married his wife of almost 60 years, Pheba Ellen (Kane) Gillespie, on Aug. 10, 1944, in Seminole. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 2004.
He was a self employed rancher and machinery dealer and was a member of the Temple of Praise Pentecostal Church Of God, in Seminole. He was a storyteller.
Survivors include three sons, Lewis James Gillespie, "Buzz" Gillespie and Billy Frank Gillespie, all of Seminole; two daughters; Auttis "Auttie" Johnson, of Seminole, and Barbara Harris, of Springhill, Fla.; one brother, Richard Gillespie, of Eufaula; two sisters, Hazel Fowler, of Wichita Falls, Texas and Mary Auttis Fisher, of Cabot, Ark.
His parents and his wife precede him in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Temple of Praise Pentecostal Church Of God, in Seminole. Rev. Harold Turner will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, in Seminole.
Casket Bearers will be Robert Johnson, Travis Gillespie, Clay Gillespie, James Johnson, Billy Johnson and Garrett McCoy. Honorary Bearer will be Erin Gillespie.
Viewing will be from 8a.m. until 8p.m. Thursday - Saturday and from Noon until 8p.m. on Sunday.
