Funeral services for Holdenville resident, Clemmie Harjo, age 84, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, at Many Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmie Anderson officiating.
An evening prayer service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at Hudson-Phillips Chapel. A procession to Many Springs will leave the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 4 p.m. Interment will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
He died in Ada on Thursday, Dec. 4. Harjo was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Seminole County to Ben Harjo and Susie Walker Harjo. He attended a military academy in Texas and later attended classes for one year at the University of Oklahoma, in Norman.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army for three years and retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he worked in the Engine Repair Department.
Surviving him are his five children: Vincent Harjo, of Wewoka; Tommy Harjo, Clemmie Harjo, and Virgil Harjo, all of Holdenville; and Donna Harjo, of Wewoka; and sister, Lucille Harrison, of Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, on Oct. 6, 2004, his parents, and brothers and sisters: Leonard, Johnson, Tommy, Mary Jane, Mae, Mary Sue, and Sarah.
Pallbearers are Dean Goforth, Gabe George, Clem George, Benny Hester, William George, Jr. and Leo Fish, Jr.,
Honorary pallbearers are Henry George, Leon McPerryman, Ronnie George, Greg George, Stanley Factor, Chris Goforth, Cary Goforth and Brian Factor.
Frances Harjo
Funeral services for lifelong Seminole County resident Frances Pauline Harjo are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa with Rev. Joe Coon and Rev. Arthur Wayne Carpitcher officiating.
A wake service is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Spring Baptist Church. Burial is to follow services at Davis Family Cemetery, located south of Sasakwa.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Harjo, 71, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at her residence in Konawa. She was born March 19, 1937 in Sasakwa to George Wesley Harjo and Cora (Davis) Harjo.
She worked as a cook for New Horizon Nursing Home in Konawa for several years and married Carlee L. Harjo.
Harjo was a member of Spring Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Her father, and one son, Jeffrey Lee Harjo, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband of the home; her mother, Cora Harjo of Sasakwa; four sons: Carl Lee Harjo, Terry Allen Harjo, Dale Robin Harjo, and David Kevin Harjo, all of Konawa; two daughters: LaHome Jenice Harjo of Ada and Cecelia Julia Harjo of Konawa; one brother, Willie Harjo of Sasakwa; seven sisters: Kathryn Harjo of Sasakwa, Amanda Gipson of Ada, Wisey Harjo of Sasakwa, Toni Harjo of Wewoka, Lucy Harjo of Wewoka, Polly Owl of Stillwell, and Jean Tecumseh of Henryetta; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Gary Harjo
Gary Lee "Joe Sam" Harjo died Oct. 4, in Seminole, at the age of 54.
He was born June 9, 1954, in Talihina, to Joe Brown and Winnie Harjo. He graduated from Butner Schools. He married Barbara Pillsington, June 24, 1988, in Wewoka.
He was of the Christian faith and served his county with the United States Air Force.
Wake Services are scheduled for 6:30p.m. Tuesday, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, with Rev. David Littler.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Salt Creek Methodist Church, with interment at Wewoka Indian Methodist Church.

Georgia Harjo
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Georgia Harjo are scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka.
Rev. Malcolm Tiger will officiate.
Harjo died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at the Wewoka Nursing Center in Wewoka at the age of 74.
She was born to General and Lela (Johnson) Hopper in Wolf on May 30, 1934.
Harjo worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aid for Oakridge Nursing Home in Wewoka.
She was a member of the Akasvmkv Baptist Church in Wewoka, and a member of the Hvteyievlke Band of the Wind Clan.
Harjo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tema Harjo; and one daughter, Tinah Faye Harjo.
She is survived by her sons, Calvin of Moore, Billy Williams, Tulsa, and Kenneth Warledo, McAlester; daughters, Jackie Warledo, Seminole, Martha Duran, Wewoka, and Lela of Tulsa.
She is also survived by one brother, Carl Lee Hopper, Konawa.
Pallbearers will be Gordon Cosar, Mitchell Hill, Mickey Cosar, Nicholas Hopper, Charlie Wilson, and Rick Deer.
Hattie Harjo
Funeral services for Wewoka native Hattie Jean Harjo are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Seminole Indian Baptist Church, Konawa, with Rev. Ed George and Rev. George Doyle officiating.
Burial is to follow at Seminole Indian Baptist Cemetery. Wake services are scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Stout-Philips Funeral Chapel.

Harjo, 84, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at her residence. She was born Nov. 11, 1923 at Sasakwa to Putkeh and Ada (Ceasar) Harjo.
She attended school at Cully, Sasakwa, and Vamoosa. Harjo worked for Big Yank and Lillian Russell Clothing Factory as a seamstress for a number of years.
Harjo was a Woman’s Leader at Seminole Indian Baptist Church and was baptized by Homer Lee Emarthle in 1958.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was like a mother to her sisters, making sure that they went to school and received an education.
Her parents; son, Clifford Wayne Lena; and husband, Rev. Roman Harjo, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sisters: Pauline Doyle of Wewoka, and Minnie Ruth Harjo Neal of Konawa; two grandsons that she raised as her own sons: Bob Harjo of Houston, Texas and Manuel Lena; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
Imogene Harjo
Funeral services for longtime Sylvan resident Imogene Harjo are schedule for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hitchitee United Methodist Church, northeast of Seminole, with Rev. Mike Svitak officiating and Rev. Mike Harjo assisting.
Interment is to follow at Hitchitee Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Harjo, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 in Oklahoma City. She was born March 12, 1927 to Rev. Buddy Little and Alice Miller Little.
She attended grade school at Red Mound and Pike’s Peak and later she attended Chilocco Indian School, where she learned the art of Native Dance.
Harjo was a lifetime member of Hitchitee United Methodist Church, where she had served as Sunday school teacher and worked with the children’s choir.
She served in many different church offices and taught Native song.
Her parents; her husband, Samsochee Harjo; two sisters: Lula Little and Clara Davis; three brothers: Osceola Little, Mitchell Little, and Terry Little; and two grandsons, preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons: Percy Harjo of Antlers, Bruce Harjo of Shawnee, and Nathaniel Harjo of Seminole; seven daughters: Mildred Harjo, Lula Harjo, Delores Harjo, and Channon Spencer, all of Seminole, Sandra Larney and Samantha English, both of Oklahoma City, and Mary Jackson of Shawnee; 32 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters: Bessie Spencer of Prague, Juanita Wise of Seminole, and Ida Mae Little of Seminole.
Casket bearers will be: Ellis Little, Jason Little, Osceola Little, Steve Harjo, Howard Harjo and Steve Barnett.
Honorary bearers will be: Tecumseh Underwood, Bryan Harjo, Shane Harjo, Victor Underwood, Ted Underwood, and all of her grandsons.
Jackson Harjo
Funeral services for Jackson Harjo, brother of several Konawa residents, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the Pecan Grove Methodist Church in Holdenville, under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Wetumka.
Rev. Malcomb Tiger is set to officiate.
Interment will follow at the Yager Cemetery.
Harjo, a Henryetta resident, died July 6, 2008, in Okemah, at the age of 72.
He was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Henryetta, to Legus Harjo and Lowina (Lowe) Harjo.
Jackson Harjo was raised in the Henryetta area.
He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
Harjo married Margaret Hill on June 25, 1954, and they were married for 47 years, having four children.
Harjo worked as a welder, doing maintenance on oil field properties. He retired in 1995.
Then he worked for Klaleggee Tribal Town for five years.
Harjo was a member of Pecan Grove Methodist Church, where he served as deacon.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, stomp dance, and singing Creek hymns. He also worked on lawn mowers and cars.
Harjo was preceded in death by his parents, Legus and Lowina Harjo; his wife, Margaret Hill Harjo in 2001; a son, Silas Hill; and a brother, Lewis Harjo.
He is survived by wife Lillie Harjo of the home; three children, Jackson Harjo Jr. of Shawnee, Marcus Harjo of Wetumka, and Patricia Harjo of Wetumka; five sisters, Mina Phillips of Eufaula, Sue Givins of Konawa, Ramona Sue Robinson of Okemah, Annie Shaw of Konawa, and Bessie Davis of Konawa; one brother, Eugene Cully of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Johnny Harjo
Wewoka resident, Johnny Lee Harjo, died at his residence Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the age of 63 years.
Wake Services were scheduled for 6p.m. Thursday, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel and 7p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Hilltop Presbyterian Church.

Harjo was born Sept. 10, 1945 in Wewoka, to Tema Harjo and Sissie Grayson.
He attended Sasakwa schools and was a member of Hilltop Presbyterian Church, and the Hvteyievlke band.
He previously worked for C & J Wellhead, out of Edmond, as a laborer.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann (Yargee) Harjo, of the Home; sons, Johnny Harjo Jr., Donny Harjo, both of Billings, Mont., and Timothy Scott, of McAlester, Alex Lee Harjo and Tony Ray Yargee, both of Wewoka; sister, Linda Johnson, of Oklahoma City; and brothers, Legus and Jake Harjo, both of Wewoka
