Brenda Luckey

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident Brenda Kay Luckey are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Holdenville with Rev. Walter Kuhlman officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

Luckey, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 in Eufaula. She was born June 5, 1953 in Holdenville to Luther and Bobbie Jean (Hoyle) Roberts.

She attended Moss Schools and was raised in Ragtown, Okla. She and Michael A. Luckey married June 6, 1981 in Calvin, Okla.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Surviving is her husband Micheal of Calvin; daughter, Melissa G. Luckey of McAlester; brother, James Roberts of Wetumka; and sister, Kathy McKitrick of Paris, Texas.

Wilfred Lundblad

Wilfred M. ‘Doc’ Lundblad passed away from this life into the waiting arms of our Lord on Oct. 5, at Unity Hospital, in Shawnee.

Doc was born on April 5, 1924, in Minneapolis, Minn. Doc’s life was not only a life of education, but also one of service. Doc graduated pre med from the University of Minnesota in 1944 and finished medical school at the University of Minnesota earning his MD in 1948.

His internship was served at Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago from Jan. to Dec. of 1948. He served his residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne County General Hospital in Eloise, Michigan, Jan. 1949 thru July 1951 and July 1953 thru July 1954.

During the Korean war Doc served our nation in the army as a ward officer in Internal Medicine in Japan and a Battalion Surgeon with the 45th Infantry Division in Japan and Korea.

After completing his residency in 1954, Doc served as a physician in the University of Indiana’s student health services before beginning his solo private practice in Bloomington, Ind. Sept. 1954- July 1975.

Doc re-entered the military in 1975 serving active duty in the Air Force before retiring a Colonel in 1991. During his long Air Force career, Doc served at Kadena Air Base, in Okinawa, Misawa Air Base, in Japan, Torrejon Air Base, in Spain, Plattsburgh Air Force Base, in New York and temporary duty in England and Germany.

Doc’s continued education was extensive, including courses in Electrocardiograph and interpretation and Endocrinology, pipe organ performance for six semesters, Japanese Studies, four semesters, an Air War College Seminar, and Psychology courses at SUNY, Plattsburgh.

After retiring from the Air Force, Doc served a psyc residency at Albany Medical Center from 1991-1992. In 1993 Doc and his wife Nancy moved to Oklahoma after accepting a position at Wewoka HIS Clinic where he served from 1993 to 2005.

Service to the church was also an important part of Doc’s life. He was a Medical Missionary, in Zaire from April 1964 to July 1964. He also served as Senior Warden of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in Holdenville, convention delegate, church organist, and was a member of Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma’s Council of Missions.

Doc is survived by his wife Nancy, his sons Michael and William, and one daughter Susan.

Services will be 2p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, in Holdenville.

Charlie Lynch

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Charlie R. Lynch, Sr. are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating and Bobby Lynch assisting.

Interment is to follow at Little Cemetery with services being under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Lynch, 69, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at his home in Seminole. He was born March 29, 1935 in Centrahoma, Okla., to Enis James Lynch and Lorena (Driskill) Lynch.

He attended Varnum Public Schools and was a member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church. Lynch worked as a transport driver for Jackie Cooper Auto Transport out of Oklahoma City.

On May 18, 2001 he married Bobbie Freemyer in Oklahoma City.

His parents; one brother, Ray Lynch (in 2003); and one sister, Junia Faye Dye (in 1998), preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife of the home; one son, Charlie R. Lynch, Jr. of Oklahoma City; two sisters: Mary Sue Poff and Shirley Houck, both of Seminole; and three grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be: Shawn Poff, Dewayne Houck, Don Pinkerton, Harold Rutherford, Junior Lynch and Onis Coroce. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Howard and Toby Aldridge.

Midge Machado

A rosary for longtime Seminole resident Midge Machado has been planned for Thursday evening at 6: 30 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral mass is to follow on Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole at 10:30 a.m. with Father Basil Keenan, O.S.B. officiating.

Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Midge E. (Hargrave) Machado, 84, died, Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 in Oklahoma City. She was born on Oct. 15, 1923 to George and Blanche Kernan (Marquis) Hargrave in Shawnee.

She grew up in Wewoka until her junior year at Wewoka High School, then the family moved to the Strother community where they lived for one year and then moved to Red Bluff, Calif., where Midge graduated from High School.

After graduation she attended the University of Flagstaff, Ariz., where she met her husband John Machado. Two years later she taught school at Fairfax, Okla.

In 1945, she moved to Culver City, Calif., where she married John Frank Machado on Aug. 11, 1945 in Culver City. Mr. Machado preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2001. Together the couple raised six sons and one daughter.

She was active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole, where she served as organist for many years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1982 and her Master’s Degree in education from East Central University in 1984.

She taught school at Prague, Maud and Davenport Schools. She was a member of the Oklahoma Teachers Association and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in California.

She is survived by her sons: John Machado and his wife, Cindy of Miami, Okla., George Machado of Racine, Wis., Pat Machado and his wife Debra of Fresno, Calif., Kernon Machado and his wife Melanie of Camarillo, Calif., Bryon Machado of the home in Seminole, and Mark Machado and his wife Kathie of Seminole: and daughter, Anne Machado of the home in Seminole.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; John Patrick Machado, Jeffrey Machado, Bryon Machado, Lindsay (Machado) Bilshausen, Kristin Machado, Heather Marshall, Hollie McGrail, Susan Machado, Meagan Machado, Katie Machado, Molly Machado, Patrick Machado, Scott Machado: 17 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Frank Machado; two brothers: George Hargrave, Jr., and Gerald Hargrave; one sister, Jo Ann Sturdevant; and a grandson Matthew Machado.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Health Back Home Health for all the care they showed and especially to nurse Tiffany Taylor.

Elizabeth Maddox

Elizabeth Jane Maddox was born on July 18, 1988, in Apple Valley, Calif., and departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 28, in Prague, at the age of 20.

Elizabeth, the daughter of Larry Dale and Candice Denise (Beutler) Maddox, was a resident of Prague. She graduated from Prague High School with the class of 2007 where she excelled in all sports.

During her senior year, her basketball team played in the state tournament, and the softball team won the state championship. Liz was selected to the fast-pitch all-state team as a catcher.

She was attending Seminole State College on a softball scholarship. Liz was a member of the Prague United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Don and Patricia Maddox, and Alvin L. "Bud" Beutler; and one brother, Donald Alan Maddox.

Survivors include her parents, Larry and Candice Maddox, of Prague; brother, Kenneth Dale Maddox of Stillwater; sister and brother-in-law, Danielle and Roger Reeder, of Ada; grandmother, Beulah Beutler, of Prague; nephew and niece, Brayden and Kadence Reeder, of Ada; and many friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons and Rev. Starland Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, in Prague.

Edwin Madkins

Funeral services for former Wewoka resident Edwin Bryce Madkins are schedule for 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Wewoka.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Shawnee.

Madkins, 36, of Shawnee, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2008 in Shawnee. He was born Feb. 4, 1972 in Wewoka to Junior Ray and LaDosca Jean Madkins.

At the time of his death, Madkins was employed with Eaton Corporation of Shawnee.

His mother preceded him in death.

Surviving is his father Junior Ray Madkins of Wewoka; brothers: Delvin Lawrence Thompson and William Irby Shaw, of Seminole; and sisters, Tammy kemp of Mesquite, Texas, Shelley Johnson of Wewoka, and Kelly Barkus of Shawnee.

Alivea Malone

Graveside services for Alivea Nevaeh Malone, daughter of Konawa residents Jason and Annette Malone, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at Vamoosa Cemetery in Konawa.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate.

Malone died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 at Children’s Hospital in Dallas, Texas at the age of 2 ½ months.

She was born on May 14, 2008 in Lubbock, Texas to Jason and Annette (Zambrano) Malone.

Malone is survived by her parents, of the home; grandparents, Danny and Linda Malone of Harrah, and Rosa and Adam Cisneros of Demitt, Texas; great-grandparents, Lester and Wanda Malone of Choctaw; one brother, Andrew Malone, Harrah; and five sisters, Danielle Malone of Harrah, Alice Malone of Harrah, and Athena, Alexandria, and Angel Malone, all of Demitt, Texas.

Chebon Martin

No-ko-se Scott Martin, age 24 died on Monday, Aug 25, in Oklahoma City. He was born to Rose C. Botone and Lloyd P. Martin.

He played basketball and worked on graffiti art. He was also a wild land firefighter and Heritage Resource Technician for the Caddo Nation.

A prayer service /wake was held at 7p.m., Wednesday.

Funeral services will be at 10a.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Caddo Cultural Center, with the Revs. Delfred and Elenor Whitecrow officiating. Internment will follow at the Caddo Nation Tribal Cemetery, located 1 mile south and ¾ mile east of Binger Y.

Services are under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

He is survived by his mother; Rose Botone, of Binger, father; Lloyd Martin, of Seminole, four sisters; Morningstar Botone, Lawton, Eliza Botone, Yukon, E-cho Hok-tv Martin, Hollywood, Fla., and Winter Star Martin, McDonald, Kan., and one brother; Lance Martin, Manderson S.D.

Nelda Martin

Funeral Services for former Wewoka resident Nelda Jo (Moreland) Martin, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Delmer Hume officiating.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

Martin was born Aug. 25, 1939 in Wewoka to James W. and Rena (Hanning) Moreland.

She graduated from Wewoka High School and worked as a pre-school teacher in Sand Springs-Tulsa area.

She has lived in the Claremore for five years and Sand Springs for 20 years

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; one son, Tracy Allen Martin; one sister, Jane Houser; and one grandson, Robert Michael Hodge.

Survivors include: five daughters: Davanna Kay Tillman, Claremore, Nelda Louise Martin, Lawton, Debbie Repp, Claremore, Tammy Michelle Norman, Edgerton, Kan., and Kristy Gaye Goswick, Carthage, Mo.; four sons: Rodney Jay Dee Martin, Holdenville; Rondel Keith Martin, Sand Springs, Kevin Alwayne Martin, Sand Springs, and Michael Leonard Martin, Ardmore; sisters: Marion (Sawyer) Cain, Lorene Romeno, and Leta Drewery; brothers: James (Bud) Moreland and Jackie (Porkey) Moreland; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Doyle Matthews

Funeral services for Konawa native William Doyle Matthews are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Long officiating.

Interment is to follow at Konawa City Cemetery at approximately 4 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home in Bristow.

Matthews, 76, died on Monday, May 12, 2008 in Bristow. He was born June 25, 1931 to William Henry and Vera (Fink) Matthews in Konawa.

He graduated from Konawa High School in 1949. On June 20, 1949, he and Florine Carman were united in marriage in Gainsville, Texas. To this union, four children were born; Ron, Brenda, Kevin and Lori.

Matthews moved to Bristow in 1952 where he owned and operated Matthews Company and Matthews Drilling. Although he was involved in many areas, his true enjoyment was his horses and cattle.

His parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Florine of the Bristow home; two sons: Ron Matthews and Kevin Matthews, both of Bristow; two daughters: Brenda Morris of Bristow and Lori Hagan of Sapulpa; one brother, Kenneth Matthews of Konawa; one sister, JoNell Coleman of Bristow; nine grandchildren: and one great-grandchild.
