Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Robert "Bobby" Neese are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Dwayne Nance officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Bobby passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008 in Shawnee at the age of 54. He was born in Perry, Okla., on Sept. 19, 1953 to Robert Fulton and Johnny Lenora (Lewis) Neese.
He was a musician and opened for many bands such as: Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Porter Wagoner, Buck Owens, Gene Watson and Stoney Edwards. Bobby was a member of the Tri-City Christian Church in Seminole.
His parents; brother, Robert Fulton Neese Jr.; sister, Susan Ann Neese; and uncle. J.D. Neese, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ashley Neese, currently serving in the military in Iraq, and wife Karri Neese of Shawnee; daughter, Krystal Neese of Wewoka; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Paula Neese of Seminole; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Lonnie Knight of Seminole and Judy Robbins of Seminole; and several nieces and nephews: Terry Carter, Angie Adams, Londa Robertson, Melanie Yerby, Scott Fulton and Brendan Neese.
Two grandsons, Rhett and Hunter of Shawnee also survive him.
Norman Nichols
Graveside services for lifelong Seminole resident Norman Gene Nichols are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Nichols, 80, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1927 in Seminole to Robert Earl Nichols and Hazel (Foster) Nichols.
He attended Seminole Public Schools and was a self-employed welder.
His parents preceded him in death.
Marie Nipper
Marie Lorene Nipper was born on Oct. 8, 1926, in Prague, and departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 12, at her home in Prague, at the age of 82.
Lorene, the daughter of Clarence Mitchell and Millie Sarah (Harris) Terney, was a resident of Prague most of her life. She was a graduate of Prague High School.
She married Rev. Howard Raymond Nipper, on Nov. 13, 1948. in Van Buren, Ark. They pastored churches in several Oklahoma towns for many years.
After retiring from the ministry in 1993, the Nipper’s moved home to Prague. Rev. Nipper preceded Lorene in death on Feb. 16, 1996.
Lorene was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, in Prague.
Her parents; one brother, Gene Terney; and one sister, Anna Mae Watson, also preceded Lorene in death.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Veryl and Dennis Vos, of Prague, Donnia and Chuck Utsler, of Pocasset, and Jerrye Nipper, of Prague; grandchildren, Kim Terry and her husband Chuck, of Konawa, Jana Goodnight and her husband Jimmy, of Prague, Kyle Utsler and his wife Tami, of Pocasset, Andrew Vos, of Choctaw, Kelli Brown and her husband Jeromy, of Pocasset; brother-in-law, Harold Watson, of Shawnee, sister-in-law, Joyce Terney, of Seminole; 7 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Cheyanne, Logan, Kiley, Brooke, Lynnie, and Jalyn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorene’s family received friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, in Prague with Rev. Chuck Utsler officiating.
Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, in Prague.

Juanita Noon
Juanita (Harjo) Noon was born April 18, 1927, to Sam Brown and Rosie Harjo. She left this life on Nov. 6, at the Baptist Medical Center.
She was raised by her Uncle and Aunt, Sumpsey K. and Retta (Davis) Harjo. She was raised along side nine siblings, eight of which have preceded her in death.
Juanita attended Maud High School and upon graduation attended Draughon˘s School of Business, in Shawnee. She met and married Jimmy Harjo and raised her nephew, Cecil Rae (Harjo) McGirt who also preceded her in death in Dec. 2006.
She lived and worked in San Jose, Calif. for a number of years before returning to Oklahoma, where she married Richard Noon and resided in Shawnee, until his death. She remained in Shawnee, and was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and Riverside Indian Baptist Church, in Tecumseh.
Juanita was instrumental in keeping her Family together by organizing yearly dinners to celebrate birthdays and holidays. It was very important to her to have the family gather on these occasions and keep in touch and know their relatives.
Her nieces, nephews, family members, and extended family members will miss her strength, boldness, out-going personality, sense of humor, hospitality and home cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings and fry bread as they will continue their traditional get-togethers in her honor.
She is survived by one younger brother, Sumpsey (Sonny) Harjo Jr., living in Moore; one granddaughter, Tami Lee Harjo, of Redwood Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 9, from 3 –6 p.m. at the Absentee Shawnee Community Chapel, located at Hwy 9 and Harrah Rd.
The funeral service will also be held in the Absentee Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, with burial to follow in the family cemetery, in Pink.
Melvin Norman
Melvin Lloyd Norman, was born in Wewoka, on June 13, 1945 and died in Seminole, on Sunday, Aug. 24, at the age of 63 years.
He was the son of Charles Thurman and Ella (Barkhimer) of Norman.
Norman was a resident of Sasakwa, since 1987. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1963 and owned and operated his ranch in Sasakwa.
He served in the Army National Guard.
Survivors include one Son, Clinton Norman of Blanchard, one Daughter Julie Thomas of Porum, Father and Mother, Charles Thurman and Ella Norman,of Sasakwa, two brothers, Jim and Thurman Norman of Davenport, and two Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Davenport Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 10a.m., with Rev. Joe Molencupp officiating.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

Randall Norman
Graveside services for Seminole County resident Randall Robert Norman are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Rosewood Cemetery in Ada, under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home of Ada.
Norman died Friday, July 18, 2008, at home, at the age of 52.
He was born Oct. 10, 1955, in Cushing, to Robert Jefferson Norman and Wilma Nadine Norman.
He attended school in Drumright, and then went to East Central University for one year and Seminole State College for two years.
On June 3, 1983, he married LaDonna Norman.
Randall Norman was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Norman, and a nephew, Scott Williams.
He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Norman; two daughters, Rachael Lee and husband Jason of Ada, and Christina Norman of Ada; his parents, Robert Jefferson Norman and Wilma Nadine Norman of Ada; a sister, Donna Sue Williams and her husband Billy Jack of Ratcliff, Ark.; a nephew, Zachary Williams and his wife Lisa Kathleen, of Georgia; and a granddaughter, Jasie Lee of Ada.
George Nowlin, Jr.
George Franklin ‘Frank’ Nowlin, Jr., died at his Seminole County home, on Friday, Sept. 12, at the age of 75.
He was the son of George F. Nowlin, Jr. and Ruby (Hatcher) Nowlin, born on March 24, 1933, in Lane.
He was raised in Atoka County and attended Atoka schools. At age 17 he joined the National Guard, 45th Division, and after the 45th was activated, he served two years with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He returned from Korea in 1952, and married Pauline Gentry, on Sept. 10, 1952, in Coalgate. They lived in Centrahoma for a few years, later moving to the Oklahoma City area.
They moved in 1967 to the New Model community west of Holdenville, where they made their home for forty-one years. Nowlin died, two days after their 56th wedding anniversary.
He was an over-the-road truck driver for more than 40 years, retiring due to poor health in 2001. He had a variety of interests; he fished, hunted squirrel, and played music. He played the guitar, to include playing the lap steel guitar.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; Maxine Bunch, and three brothers; Elbert, Ulis, and Bob Nowlin.
He is survived by his wife; Pauline, of the home, four children; Donna Reich, of Holdenville, Sharlene Bible, of Ada, Darlene Selby, of Goltry, and David Nowlin, of Sasakwa;
Funeral services were Monday, Sept.15, 2p.m., at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, in Holdenville, internment was at Lone Dove Cemetery, north of Sasakwa. Rev. Kenneth Vandeveer officiated.
Pallbearers were Chris, Kevin, and Clint Landreth, Davey, Daniel, and Jeremy Nowlin, Timothy Reich and James Landreth.
Services were under direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Jimmie Nutt Jr
Funeral services for lifelong Wewoka resident Jimmie Nutt, Jr. are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ, Wewoka, with Rev. Renfro officiating and Bro. Herbert Jackson delivering the eulogy.
Burial is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Meyers Mortuary, Wewoka.
Nutt, 54, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 in Holdenville. He was born June 20, 1953 in Wewoka to Jimmie Nutt Sr., and Lorene House Nutt.
He graduated from Wewoka High School in 1971 and also attended Douglass Grade School and Cowart Junior High School.
Nutt was a member of 7th Street Church of Christ and before his illness he worked for the City of Wewoka. He was a member of the Joyland Gospel Singers for 25 years and was in vocal music in high school.
He also worked at Oakridge Nursing Home in Wewoka.
His mother and two sisters, Brenda and Mary Nutt, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his father of the home; sisters: Lula Nutt of Shawnee, Gloria Jean Nutt and Kathy Nutt, both of Wewoka, and Ycedra (Tootsie) Jones of Los Angeles, Calif.; and brother, Charles Williams of Ypsilanti, Mich.
Jackie O’Brien
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Jackie Lynn O’Brien are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka, with Rev. Michael Vallandingham officiating.
Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.
Jackie Lynn, 58, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at a Wewoka nursing home. She was born July 4, 1949 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to William Travis and Edith Christine (Snyder) Bruce.
She was an employee of Braum’s as a clerk. Jackie was a member of First Baptist Church, Wewoka, where she loved to sing in the choir and attend Sunday school class. She loves spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her parents, Travis and Edith Bruce; son, Michael Paul O’Brien and wife Sutton of Tulsa; sister, Debbie Galyen of Ardmore; granddaughter, Bailey Rae O’Brien; and nieces and nephews: Beau Galyean, Wesley Galyean, and Christina Galyean.
Jean O’Bryant
Funeral services for Meeker resident Jean O’Bryant are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Mack Peercy officiating.
Burial will be at Dale Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Jean O’Bryant, 71, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 in Meeker. She was born July 3, 1936 in Shawnee to Beryl and Thelma (Saunders) Hines.
She was raised in the St. Louis area, she moved to Oklahoma City following her marriage. Jean moved back to Shawnee and lived there for the majority of her life until moving to Meeker a few years ago.
Jean attended school in Slick through the 6th grade, moving to St. Louis Schools where she was Valedictorian in both 8th and 12th grades. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Central State University.
On Dec. 23, 1954 she married Tony Patrick O’Bryant in Pearson, Okla. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2001.
She was a first grade teacher for 17 years, mostly in the Sequoyah Schools. Jean was active in her church and enjoyed teaching children and traveling, especially with her grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Dianne Campbell of Seminole, and Laura Lynch and her husband, Rick, of Little Axe; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Darryl Brady; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom and Doris Hines of Tuskahoma, and Loyd and Carolyn Hines of Gore; three grandchildren: Patrick Campbell of Seminole, Levi Moore of Ada, and Marcie Black of Seminole; four great-grandchildren: Caleb Moore. Ty Campbell, Madison Moore, and Gavin Moore; and numerous friends and other family members.
