Funeral services for lifelong Konawa resident Shirley Ann Rains are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Bro. Arthur Carpitcher and Bro. Hershel Davis officiating.
A wake service will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.
Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Shirley Ann Rains passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Carl Albert Indian Health Center in Ada at the age of 59. She was born Aug. 13, 1948 in Konawa to David Rains and Mattie (Morgan) Rains.
Shirley was a loving homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
She was a special "Grandma" to Elijah, Malachi and Caleb.
She is survived by two daughters: Jody of Arkansas and Jerry Dean Cabler of Texas; two brothers: Charles Rains of Ravenden, Ark., and Arthur Carpitcher of Konawa; two sisters: Chris Leatherman of Saginaw, Texas and Rosalie Bounds of Konawa; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Her parents and two brothers, Leroy and Eddie Rains, preceded her in death.
Serving as casket bearers will be Dale Hankins, Phillip Bentley, Jeremy Bounds, Jonathan Bounds, Ronnie Lunsford, Michael Johnson and Robert Walton.
Terry Rains
Terry Lee Rains, age 47, died Thursday, Dec. 11, at his residence in Shawnee.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Konawa. Rev. Arthur Carpitcher will officiate.
He was born June 2, 1961, to Lee Roy Rains and Syble (Stapleton) Rains, in French Camp, Calif. He was baptized at the Indian Pentecostal Church of God, in Konawa.
He is survived by his mother, Syble Gutierrez, of Ft. Worth, Texas; son, Victor Nichols, of McLoud; brother, Timothy Rains, of Lake Worth, Texas; and two sisters, Letta DeLeon, of Lake Worth, Texas, and Sandra Bressman, of Ft. Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Rains and by one sister, Virginia Rains.
Raymon Ranells
Raymon F. Ranells, age 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Purcell Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1929, to Fred Ranells and Allie (Baucom) Ranells, in Francis.
He married Eunice Wilson, on June 30, 1951, in. He worked as a Lineman for Canadian Valley Electric Co-op for thirty-seven years. Ranells lived most of his live in Asher, where he was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church. He hunted and fished.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Allie Ranells; his wife, Eunice (Wilson) Ranells; four brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by one son, R. Terry Ranells, of Asher; one daughter, Teresa Larman, of Asher; one sister, Gerlene Fonfara, of Seattle; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7th, at the First Baptist Church, in Asher. Rev. Dewayne Johnson, Rev. Cecil Spoonemore, and Rev. Gary Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery, in Asher.
Pallbearers are Bo Ranells, Mart Armstrong, James Roe, Timothy Larman, Thomas Larman, and Robert Farmer.
Honorary Pallbearers are Henry Neely, Billy Ranells, James Tomlinson, and Bob Riggle.
Services are under the direction of under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Konawa.
Tildia Ransom
Funeral services for former Konawa resident Tildia Ransom are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Prague, with Pastor L.R. Drinkwater officiating.
Interment is to follow at Konawa City Cemetery with services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Ransom, 97, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Meeker Nursing Center in Meeker. She was born April 6, 1910 in Maxwell, Okla., to Dib Rogers and Nancy (Charles) Rogers.
She worked as a cook and was also a housekeeper at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City for several years.
On Nov. 26, 1926 she married Henry Ransom and he preceded her in death in 1984.
She is a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church in Konawa.
Her parents; one son, Quentell Ransom; four daughters: Many Ann Ransom, Henryetta Hall, Thelma Shelby, and Lanetta Heath; and one sister, Ida Clark, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are four daughters: Izalure Parker and Pearlie Scott, both of Oklahoma City, Martha Arradondo of Konawa, and Viadalia Guess of Prague; three sons: Fred Ransom, Sr. of Oklahoma City, Henry Ransom Jr. and William Ransom, both of Konawa; and over 200 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services will be: Bobby Spears, Dewayne Burdine, Berford Parker, Antonio Smith, Marcus Pendleton, and Glendale Parker.
Honorary bearers will be: Eric Ransom, Donald Ransom, Dewayne Ransom, Kevin Guess, Timothy Guess, Derrick Parker, and Melvin Hall.
William Ransom
Rev. William Claremore Ransom, age 58 and a long-time resident of Konawa, and current resident of Oklahoma City, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Burial will follow at Grayson Cemetery in Konawa.
Rev. Frank Washington will officiate.
Rev. William Ransom was born on Nov. 2, 1949, in Oklahoma City to Henry Ransom, Sr. and Tilda (Willis) Ransom.
He married Avetta Griffis on June 9, 1984, at the First Baptist Church of New Lima.
He worked in maintenance, and he also worked in janitorial services for Kerr Lab Environmental Research Center of Ada.
Rev. Ransom was also the pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Church in Konawa for eight years.
He is survived by his wife, Avetta Ransom of the home, and one step-daughter, Ebony Murphy also of the home; two brothers, Fred Ransom, Sr. of Oklahoma City, and Henry Ransom, Jr. of Konawa; and four sisters, Izalure Parker and Pearlie Scott, both of Oklahoma City, Martha Arradondo of Konawa, and Viadalia Guess of Prague.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Tilda Ransom, one brother, Quintell Ransom, and four sisters, Mandy Ann Ransom, Henryetta Hall, Lennette Heath, and Thelma Shelby.
Pallbearers are Lloyd Arrinwine, Jr., Bryant Bruner, Virgil Shelby, Adam Shelby, Eric Ransom, and Dwayne Ransom.
Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Starnes, Floyd Jenkins, and Johnny Osborne.
Visitation at the Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa will be from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Pauline Rasberry
A celebration of life has been scheduled for former Seminole resident Helen Pauline Rasberry at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Wilshire Church of Christ in Oklahoma City.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home, 6006 N. Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City.
Pauline, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. Pauline was born in Wheatland, Okla., on Jan. 31, 1919 to the late Mamie and Will H. Perry.
As a child she moved to Seminole. Her first job was with OG&E where she worked until her retirement in 1974. During this time, she married Robert "Bob" Rasberry and moved to Oklahoma City.
Bob and Pauline became avid travelers going to most continents of the world. They moved to Edmond after retirement. Pauline later moved to Tealridge Manor Retirement community on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University where she spent several happy years and made many close friends.
Pauline was a life-long member of the Wilshire Church of Christ and supporter of Oklahoma Christian University. She was known for her sense of humor, needlework, quilting, cooking ability, and devotion to her family and friends. We knew her best by Aunt Pauline and Auntie Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Cecil A. Perry, Harley B. Perry, W. Curtis Perry; and sister Nadine Perry McCarthy.
Pauline is survived by her nieces and nephews which she thought of as her "children": Paul McMahan and his wife Jaye Lynn and their children, Tiffany, Nicholas, Chase and Blake of Flower Mound, Texas; Maryjane Beane and her husband David and her children, Michael O’Halloran and Katy Wells of Arlington and Mansfield, Texas and Carolyn Moore, Tulsa and Mike McCarthy of Arlington, Texas as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews and other loving friends.

June Reed
Shawnee resident, and former Seminole resident, June Taylor Reed, 74, died Sunday, Sept. 14, at her home.
She was born May 11, 1934 in Shawnee, to Walter Virgil and Cordelia Lee (Kinnamon) Cantwell.
She married Wayne Taylor on Dec. 23, 1950 and they were together 45 years before his death in 1996. She then married John Reed on July 5, 2006.
She was a member of the House of Prayer. She played cards, karaoke, and went to all the activities at The Towers where she lived. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 2 sons, Jarrett Wayne Taylor and Keith Edward Taylor; and her sister, Brenda Wolf.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Freda Satterfield and Carma Chappell, brother, Gary Cantwell, and stepson, Ricky Reed.
Graveside services will be 10a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Elder Elvin L. Smith officiating.
Linda Reed
Longtime Seminole resident Linda Joyce Reed passed away on Monday, July 7, 2008 at home.
She was born on January 7, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to William Ted and Velma (Jackson) Springfield.
She married Joe Reed on April 3, 1999 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She worked for Big Yank, Wrangler and was also self-employed as a Dog Groomer for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband of the home, Joe Reed, two step-sons: Wade Reed of Salt Lake, Utah and Jon Reed of Dallas, Texas, one step-daughter, LaVonda Reed and her husband Joseph Ludowese of Dallas, Texas, brother, Ted and wife Betty Springfield of Miami, Oklahoma, two sisters, Louise Allen of Edgewood, New Mexico and Evelyn Allen of Wetumka, Oklahoma, two step-grandchildren: Christa and Jason Ludowese.
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family and friends.
Her parents and two brothers, Leroy and Tommy Springfield, precede her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Jim and Nita Morland officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Little, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Gamble, Terry Renfro, Brad Shultz, John Flesher, Jim Bost and Ronald Johnson.

Evelyn Reich
Evelyn Mae Reich was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to God and family. Her children and grandchildren filled her life with pride and joy.
She was born Dec 24, 1932 in Oklahoma City to Orville and Flossy Edwards. She married Millard D. Reich on Jan. 11, 1949 in Earlimart, Calif. They made their home in Sasakwa, where they raised eight girls and six boys on a small country farm.
On Monday, the 10th of Nov., at the age of seventy-five, Evelyn went to be with our Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Flossy Mae Edwards (Jetton); sister, Ruth Reich; brothers, A.H. Reich, Alan McMahan, and James Leroy Edwards; sons, Steven Joe Reich and Allen Hampton Reich; grandson, Lance Wayne Whitlock; and great-grandsons Daniel Hermes and Michael Hermes.
She is survived by her husband, Millard Reich: brother and sister-in-law, W.M.
