Lisa Lea Cooper-Thompson, 50 of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 after a long and valiant fight with cancer.
She was born in Shawnee on July 21, 1957 and resided in Seminole with her parents, Leonard and Jo Ann Cooper. She was the seventh of eight children, four sisters and three brothers.
After graduating from Varnum High School in 1975, she attended Seminole Junior College. Lisa spent the past 30 years as a resident of Las Vegas.
In Las Vegas her love for people and children gave her the opportunity to hold many positions of leadership and service.
These positions included volunteering for the Hospice, serving as the president over the Commercial Lending division for Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, and many positions in the LDS Church including Primary President, Relief Society Consoler, Visiting Teacher, and more recently Primary Teacher.
Lisa had many nieces and nephews that hse loved very much. She spent individual time with each and every one of them. The time spent with each child was extremely special because she focused on their individual needs.
Lisa was blessed to have loved and married her husband Mike. Even though their life together here on earth was cut short, Lisa was happy in the knowledge that they would one day spend eternity together.
She is survived by her husband, Richard K. "Mike" Thompson of Las Vegas; his children: sons, Ken Thompson of Las Vegas and Jim Thompson of Hawaii and daughter, Lisa Evans of Las Vegas; Lisa’s sister, Karla Lasondra "Sandy" Strozier of Shreveport, La.; brother, Fredrick Mark "Butch" Cooper of Noble; sister, Lenella Grifo of Las Vegas; sister, Margo Denise Webber of Seminole; brother, Richard Keith Cooper of Paden; and brother, Leonard Kent Cooper of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joquita Renee Cooper.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday with services following at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2500 John Street, Seminole.
Burial is to be held at Little Cemetery immediately after the service.
Eugene Tiger
Eugene Tiger, longtime resident of Holdenville, died in his home at the age of 76, on Sept. 6.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Jo Tiger, of the home, Amos Tiger, of Holdenville, Amanda Cook, of Wewoka, Lyndon Tiger, of the home, Louisa Tiger of the home, Misselda Hooks, of Holdenville, Marschell Larney, of Okmulgee, brothers; Woodrow Fields, Daniel Tiger, Johnson Tiger, Jr., Leon Tiger and Bob Tiger, sisters; Doris Anderson, Phyllis Lowe, Pat Herrod, and Mattie Lowe; as well as a host grandchildren
Eugene served in the US Military at the age of 16 and was a Master Journeyman Welder in California. After moving to Wewoka, he worked for the Seminole Nation teaching the construction trade. He attended every gospel singing that he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
Wake services were held at 7p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Eugene’s home and the funeral service is set to begin at 1p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Wetumka at the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Bruner, Reverend Malcolm Tiger and Reverend Woody officiating.
Pallbearers are Don, Joe, Jordon and John Cook, Darrell Lincoln, Keith and Russell Larney and Johnson Tiger.
Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Wise, David Capps, Harold House, Sgt. Doyle Hooks (currently serving in Iraq), Emery Lincoln, and Brandon Cook.
Glen Tiger
Longtime Seminole resident Glen Tiger died on Sunday Nov. 2, at Carl Albert Indian Hospital, in Ada, at the age of 53.
He was born on July 26, 1955, in Seminole, to George William Tiger, Sr. and Ella Mae (Tanyan) Tiger.
He is preceded in death by his father, George William Tiger, Sr., mother, Ella Mae (Tanyan) Tiger, three brothers, Clifford William Tiger, George William Tiger, Jr., Alan Tiger and one sister, Carolyn Tanyan Talamasey.
Tiger is survived by his wife Lahoma Ruth Tiger, of the home, three sons; Robby Tiger, of Seminole, Jimsey Tiger, of Seminole and James Fixico, of the home, six daughters; Jeannette Codd, of Staten Island, N.Y., Tarena Craig, of Moore, Toni Morgan, of Seminole, Tiffany Parker, of Blackwell, Cheyenne Tiger, of Wewoka, and Tisha Tiger, of the home, two sisters, Leona Tiger, of Shawnee, and Ruby Tanyan, of Seminole, five brothers: Curtis T. Harjo, of Seminole, Albert Tiger, of Seminole, Simon Harjo, of Seminole, Tony Harjo, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Clifton Tanyan, of Seminole. 16 grandchildren also survive him.
The body will be taken to 2102 Union Street at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 for a wake service that will begin at 7 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Tiger Family Cemetery, in Wolf with Jimsey Harjo and Rev. Dorsey Nero officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Sam Fixico, Robert Fixico, Zachary McCully, Joe Chupco, Richard Cole, Irvin Riley, Simon Harjo, and Albert Tiger. Honorary Bearers will be: Ronnie James Tanyan, Buddy Paschal, Phillip Looper, David Jones and Mike Fixico.
Margaret Tiger
Wake Services for Margaret Ann Tiger are scheduled for 7p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 2p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at
Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, with Rev. J. B. Fish and Rev Dorcey Nero officiating. She died Oct. 4.
Born Feb. 11 1945, in Holdenville, to Ben Harjo and Linda Buckley. She attended Wetumka Schools and worked at the Seminole Nation Headstart as Head Cook. She was a member of Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.
April 1968 she married Rev. Houston Tiger, in Wewoka, and to this marriage six children were born.
Pallbearers will be Paulo Gonzales, Richard Wolf, Liegus Barnett, Kenneth Lena, Gary Lena, and Henson Lena.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Fixico, Robert McGilley Jr, Jimmy Taylor, Newman Crowe, Roy Carpitche, and Terry Walker.
Preceding her in death are her parents and son George Tiger.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Houston Tiger, of Wewoka; Children, Gregory Tiger, of Wewoka, Jimmy Tiger, of Wewoka, Bennie Tiger, of Seminole, Houston Tiger Jr, of Wewoka, Jason Tiger, of Holdenville; Brothers George Barnett, of Horntown, Clayton Buckley, of Wetumka, and Mahaylee Harjo, of Okmulgee.

Mary Tiger
Wake services for Konawa resident Mary Louise (Cully) Tiger will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Konawa, with Ed Jimboy officiating.
Internment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Tiger died on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Pioneer Nursing Center in Seminole. She was born August 12, 1934 to Sam and Eunice (Bear) Cully.
She married George William Tiger, Sr. on February 12, 1972. Tiger’s profession was as Director of Commodities at the Seminole Nation Food Distribution Center.
Tiger was a member of the Rewalke Band of Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, and a women’s church leader for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lana Cully and Edith Coody; son, Teddy Amos; three stepsons, Clifford Tiger, George Tiger, and Allen Tiger; grandson, Teddy Amos, Jr., and great-grandson, Cem-se Harjo-Tiger.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra Tiger; three brothers, Harris Cully, Leroy Cully, and Joe Cully; two sisters, Joyce Cully and Leona Chosa; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Stanley Tiger
Funeral services for Wewoka resident Stanley Tiger are scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Many Springs Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Anderson and Rev. Houston Tiger to officiate.
Interment is to follow at the McCosar Family cemetery with services being under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville.
Tiger died Saturday, June 14, 2008. He was born June 20, 1957 in Talihina to Maureen Tiger Harjo.
Surviving is his mother of Holdenville; his companion, Rose Holata, of the home; two sons: Stanley Tiger Jr. of Tulsa and Dakota Shaw of Ada; two daughters: Mary and Marissa Tiger of Tulsa; one sister, Cynthia Spain of Wewoka; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be: Stanley Tiger Jr., Isaac Simpson, Larry McCosar, Billy Spain Jr., Larry Brennan and Noe Reyes. Honorary bearers will be: Pete Harjo, Bill Spain Sr., Eric Harjo and Uncle Abe.
Florene Tinsley
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Florene Alice (Guinn) Tinsley are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Seminole.
Burial will follow at a later date at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Florene Alice (Guinn) Tinsley went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008. She was born Sept. 30, 1922 in Boynton, Okla., to Lee and Clara Mae Guinn.
She graduated from Strother High School and attended Draughton School of Business in Oklahoma City. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base.
In 1943 she married Winfred Tinsley in Little. She was a charter member of the Highway Baptist Church and later joined the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
Florene and Winfred moved to California in 1945, where she was employed for 25 years by the West Orange County Municipal Court.
In the last 20 years of her employment she served as Chief Deputy Clerk. She and Winfred moved back to Seminole in 1979, where she was employed by Mid-Continent Pipeline.
Her parents, Lee and Clara Mae Guinn; her twin sister, Lorene Cannon; sister, Etta Lee Comstock; and great-granddaughter, Natalie Black, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Winfred, of the home; son, Jack Tinsley and wife Lajuana, of Seminole; son, Ronald Tinsley and wife, Marcia, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; grandson, Shane Tinsley and wife, Tara, of Shawnee; granddaughters: Tera Black and husband, Jamie, of Mathews, N.C., and Alison Tinsley of Seminole; great-granddaughters: Abbey Tinsley and Emma Arnold, both of Seminole, and Hayley and Cassidy Black, both of Mathews, N.C.; and brother, Furman Guinn of Great Bend, Kan.
The family would like to thank Faith Hospice of Seminole; and Karen Alice and Joyce Goodman for their time and care.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the Falls Creek Youth of the First Baptist Church of Seminole.
Dane Tolson
Funeral services for Dane Tolson, 38, of Oklahoma City, will be held at 11a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the First Baptist Church, in Seminole. Dr. Tommy Clark will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday until service time at Swearingen Funeral Home.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1969, in Seminole and passed away on Sept. 16, in Oklahoma City.
He was raised and educated in Seminole. When he was younger he became a brown belt in karate and enjoyed BMX racing and playing guitar. He graduated from welding school, in Tulsa, in 2002.
Surviving are his mother Jeanie Lovelady, of Atlanta, Ga., his father and his wife Gary and Mary Tolson, of Seminole, sister and brother-in-law, Chanel and Sebastijan Katic, of Atlanta, Ga., grandparents, Maydean Lovelady, formerly of Seminole, and Wilma and Howard Tolson, of McAlester.
His grandfather, Wayne Lovelady, preceded him in death.
Elmer Totty
Funeral services for Seminole resident Elmer Gerald Totty are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
Elmer Gerald Totty, 68 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman. He was born Sept. 10, 1939 in Chaffee, Mo., to parents Edward B. Totty and Ruby Elaine (Moore) Totty.
Elmer served in the United States Army and married Joan Medrieth Cooper on July 21, 1958 in East St. Louis, Ill. Together the couple moved to Seminole in 1971 from Palmdale, Calif.
Mr. Totty worked as a self-employed cement contractor who retired in 2007. He was also a member of the Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole.
Survivors include his wife Joan Totty of the home; three daughters: Becky Watkins and her fiancée, Mike Leach of Fort Smith, Ark., Judy and her husband, Gary Lane of Seminole and Joanne and her husband, Rodger Mills of Seminole; three brothers also survive, Douglas Totty and twin brothers Ronald and Donald Totty all of Collinsville, Ill; two sisters, Betty and her husband Alois Martinez of Seminole and Dianna and her husband Thomas Merrell of Fairmont, Ill.
Other survivors include six grandchildren: DeAnna and husband Josh Copeland of Fort Smith, Ark., Traci and husband Charles Bradley of Shreveport, La., Kimberly Lane of Edmond, Wesley Lane of Seminole, Derrick Ishman of Seminole and Heath Ishman of Seminole.
Also two great-grandchildren survive: Colton Copeland of Fort Smith, Ark., and Garret Ishman of Seminole.
Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Delbert Totty, Edward Totty and Elmer’s twin brother, Delmer Totty; and three sisters who were triplets, Delores Totty, Doris Frieses and Delezene Totty.
Caskey bearers will be: Heath Ishman, Derrick Ishman, Chucky Anderson, Eddie Nelson, Randy Lehman, and Merrall Harper.
