Jimmie Williams

Funeral services for longtime Shawnee resident Jimmie L. Williams are scheduled for 10 a.m. at Freewill Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. David McDougle officiating.

Interment is to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Shawnee.

Jimmie, 78, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Guthrie. He was born July 12, 1929 in Paden to George and Effie (Stansni) Williams.

He grew up in Prague and graduated from Prague High School. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Jimmie started working for Southwestern Bell when he was 18 years old, he worked his way up to an engineer, and retired after 40 years.

He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church on Seminole and his passion if life was taking care of his home, his land, and his family.

His wife, Wanna Williams; his parents; and three siblings, preceded him in death.

Jimmie is survived by his children: Frena Hokans of Waterberry, Conn.., Mike Williams of Guthrie, Jerry Ragge of Canton, Ohio, Joey Ragge of Shawnee, and Mike Ragge of Irving, Texas; five siblings; grandchildren; Bryan, Casey, August, Amber, Dustin, Katie, and Zhawn; great-grandchildren, Luke, Haley, Alyssa, and Bram; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Cole’s Nursing Home and Companion Care Hospice.

Peggy Williams

Services for Wewoka resident Peggy Joan Williams are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Chapel with Rev. John Haynes officiating.

Burial is to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.

Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Holdenville Hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1933 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Dennis and Ora Cravens Murley and attended school in Melissa, Texas.

She worked as a seamstress at Leachco and as a provider. She also worked in Konawa and Seminole and she was of the Baptist faith. In 1991 she married Gus Williams.

Surviving is her husband, Gus of the home; three sons: Jack Graham, Roger Graham and wife Diann, and Robert Graham and wife Jerry, all of Konawa; two daughters: Judy Cook and husband Doug of Ada, and Brenda Rynders of Almond, Wis.; two brothers: Mike Murley of McKinney, Texas, and Billy Doyle Murley of Van Alstyne, Texas; one sister, Olene Duncan of Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Lucella Williamson

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Lucella Pearl (VanPelt) Williamson are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial is to follow at Little cemetery with Rev. Felix Bautista will be officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Williamson, 67 of Mustang, died Monday, April 28, 2008 in Oklahoma City. She was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Dorothy Scropp Sr.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Seminole; the Cathedral of Praise of Oklahoma City; and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Williamson worked at Anthony’s for some time, and also for Lillian Russell Clothing Manufacturing in Wewoka as a press operator for many years.

Her parents; husband, Lenard Williamson (2000); and a brother preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons: Chuck Fuller of Oklahoma City and Steve Caruso of El Reno; four daughters: Kimberly Fabri of South Carolina, Linda Rinehart of Yukon, Becky Frady of Mustang, and Barbie Anderson of Tulsa; stepdaughter, LaDonna Arthur of Holdenville; two brothers: Otto Scropp of Eagle River, Alaska and Raymond Scropp of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters: Diana Ujvaqi of Ohio and Mary Silver of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Rinehart, Kendall Brown, Jeff Reynolds, Chad Mortenson, Luke Short, and Kevin Anderson.

Honorary bearers will be: James Taylor, Dean Anderson, and Rollie VanPelt.

Curtis Wilson

Services for Sasakwa native Curtis James Wilson Sr. are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Central Church of Christ, Bill Carroll will officiate.

Burial is to follow at Rosedale Cemetery with the Tinker Air Force Base Honor Guard to conduct military honors.

Arrangements are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.

Mr. Wilson died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1948 in Sasakwa to Raymond and Ester Payne Wilson.

He attended Konawa Schools and graduated from Konawa High School. He was a lifelong resident of the area.

He married Debbie Stewart on June 5, 1971 in Snyder, Texas. Mr. Wilson was an oilfield frac supervisor for Basic Energy Services. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church and had served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1971.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Wilson, of the home; two sons: Curtis Wilson Jr. and wife Marisa of Ada, and Kevin Wilson and wife Kimber of Ada; one daughter, Krystal Joplin and husband Brett of Ada; seven grandchildren: Kendal, Reagan, and London Wilson , Brendle and Ty Wilson and Wilson and Beau Joplin; one brother, Frank Wilson and wife LouNell of Konawa; and sisters: Leta and Johnny Gibson of Salem, Ore., Leona and Charles Hudson of Maud, Jane Russell of Houma, La., Ruth and Roger Fitzgerald of Fredericksburg, Va., Patsy and Tom Baxter of Purcell and Margaret Brown of Konawa.

Bearers will be Brian Russell, Frank Wilson Jr., Bobby Hudson, Danny Gruton, Johnny Wilson, Seth Carroll, Chaz Lumley and Brandon Parks.

Honorary bearers will be all of his nieces and nephews.

Harvey Wilson

Funeral services for Maud native Harvey Joe Wilson are scheduled for 1:30 Wednesday at the First Christian Church, 629 N.W. 12th Street in Moore.

Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore.

Harvey Joe Wilson passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008 in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his family. Born on Aug. 1, 1932 in Maud, he was youngest of Penelope and Frank Wilson’s six children.

Harvey began work in the oil drilling industry as a roughneck and derrick man when he was 17 years old.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he drilled in numerous domestic onshore fields around the world, including: Libya, Columbia, Kuwait, Mozambique, and Saudi Arabia.

Harvey retired after 15 years of service with Saudi Aramaco as a drilling foreman.

He was a devoted family man who enjoyed reading history and was a past Master of Maud Masonic Lodge #106. He stayed active following his retirement on his ranch, "Possum Trax", located north of Maud.

His children and grandchildren have many memories of summers spent chasing cows, riding four-wheelers, fishing and camping, with Grandpa.

None will forget the trees that grew marshmallows, ready to be picked and eaten. Harvey Wilson had a good story for every occasion. His homespun wisdom and easy humor will be sorely missed.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Dean (nee Brakefield of Yukon), who enjoyed 55 years of marriage with him. Harvey and Dean raised three children, all residing in Oklahoma: Joe Wilson and wife Lu Ann of Jenks; Diana Fenlon and husband Denny of Grove; and Penny Newton of Moore.

Additionally, Harvey is survived by one sister, Ima Jean Gordon of Spokane, Wash.; eight grandchildren: Sarah Matthews and husband David of Fayetteville, N.C.; Daniel, David, and Samuel Wilson of Jenks; Rachael and Michael Fenlon of Grove; and John and Lara Newton of Moore; and one great-grandchild, Leila Matthews.

Willis Wilson

Funeral services for Konawa native, Willis Woodrow Wilson, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Parkers Baptist Church, east of Wewoka.

Services are under the direction of Howard-Harris Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.

Wilson, 81, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Sacramento, Calif. He was born May 4, 1926 in Konawa to Garfield Wilson and Alice (Wildcat) Wilson.

Benjamin Winn

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Benjamin S. Winn are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hugh Willoby officiating.

Burial is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Winn, 92, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008 in Seminole. He was born Dec. 15, 1915 in Canton, Okla., to Clarence A. and Mary Ann (White) Winn.

He and his family moved to Seminole in 1930 from Drumright, Okla. He worked for Scott’s Well Service for many years as a pulling unit operator and for Version-Cockren Oil Co. as a yard superintendent.

Winn attended Bowlegs Schools and was a longtime member of the Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole. He enjoyed fishing, playing the fiddle, and listening to Blue Grass Music.

On July 6, 1939 he married Ruby Riddle Gentry in Seminole; she preceded him in death on June 11, 2005.

His parents, and one brother, J.D. Winn, also preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters: Nadine Sneed of Seminole and Betty Lou Osbin of Kenton, Okla.; two sons: Bill Winn of Mineloa, Texas and Clarence Winn of Paden; three sisters: Madge Riddle and Colleen Ess of Missouri, and Zelda Stewart of Paden; one brother, Wayne Winn of Seminole; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Leonard Winn

Leonard "Wayne" Winn, 71-year-old lifelong Seminole resident died Aug. 15, at his home.

He was born May 9, 1937 in Seminole, to parents Clarence Arthur Winn and Mary Ann (White) Winn.

Wayne graduated from Varnum High School in 1956 and was a farmer who retired in 1989.

Survivors include three sisters, Madge Riddle of Independence, Mo., Colleen Ess of Dalton, Mo., and Zelda Stewart of Paden.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 at Little Cemetery north of Seminole.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Cheri Winters

Memorial services for long-time Konawa resident Cheri Dee Winters are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, July 17, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa.

Services will be under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, with Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr officiating.

Winters died Friday, July 11, at her residence in Konawa, on her 48th birthday.

She was born July 11, 1960, in Windom, Minn., to Harold Hustad and Mary (Rousseau) Hustad.

She married George Winters on May 25, 2000, and worked as a physical therapist.

Cheri Winters’ hobbies included art and woodworking.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Hustad, and her brother, Michael Hustad.

Winters is survived by her husband, George Winters; mother, Mary Hustad; sister, Kim Phelps of Minneapolis, Minn.; step-daughter, Trina Lee of Kingston; and two grandchildren.

Paul Wolfe

Wewoka resident Paul Wolfe passed away at his resident Saturday, Aug. 23, at the age of 73 years.

Wake Services are scheduled for 6p.m. Tuesday Aug. 26, at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Moppin, assisted by Rev. Leroy Alexander.

Funeral Services scheduled for 2p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church, interment to follow at Hawkins Cemetery.

Wolfe was born Aug. 1, 1934 in Scott, to Paul Wolf Sr. and Ethel Rose (Coates) Stamp-Wolf.

John Burgess baptized Paul in Jan. of 1954 at the age of fourteen years. He was a member of Rock Springs Indian Baptist Church, Anadarko.

He married Barbara Hawkins, Oct. 10, 1964 in Oklahoma City.

He attended East Walnut School and was a Bus Driver for many years at Justice Schools.

Paul loved fast pitch softball and baseball and watching OU Football and fishing. He played semi pro baseball in Wichita, Kan. as a youth. He coached the women’s fast pitch softball team Kajun.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters; Cherry Godden, and Estelene Edmonds, brothers; Stanford Wolf and Welman Wolf.

Survivors include his wife; Barbara of the Home, Children; Paul Wolfe Jr., Wewoka: Julia Wolfe Lewis and husband Tim of Ft., Cobb, and Thomas Wolfe and wife Melissa of Seminole.

Grandchildren; Whitney, Kyle, and Trenton Wolfe, Elijah Paoskee Marquis, Matthew, Karla, Hannah, Benjamin, and Timothy Lewis, Great-Grandchildren; Aniyah Funmaker and Michaela Lewis,

As well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearer will be Tyrone Edmonds, Michael Edmonds, Welmon Wolf Jr., Brandon Wolf, Squegee Yargee, Roy Yargee, Troy Yargee, and Ledon Alexander.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Hawks, Reuben Orphan, William Harrison, Roley Johnson, Gene Harjo, Vincent J. Harjo, David Harris, Tom Stewart, Charlie Miller, Jerry Walker, Jimmy Taylor and Steve Harjo.
