Alvin Yoesel, 90 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was born February 12, 1926 to Edna and Walter Yoesel in Rulo, Nebraska.
In 1938 the Yoesel family moved to White Cloud, Kansas, where Alvin met his high school sweetheart, Norma Mann. Then on March 20, 1945, the couple married in Hiawatha, Kansas and moved to Augusta, Kansas. Alvin started working in the oilfields and in 1955 the couple moved to Arkansas City, Kansas.
In 1964 the oil business took the family to Seminole, Oklahoma. In the late 1960’s Alvin and Norma started N&Y Trucking Co. then in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s they opened N&Y Heavy Equipment Construction Company, where Alvin worked until his retirement in the 1990’s. Alvin and Norma were also very active members of the First Christian Disciple Church in Seminole.
Alvin and Norma took off to enjoy traveling throughout the United States. Later they joined the Terra Star Park, where Alvin served as president for several years. Norma and Alvin would spend many winters in south Texas with their friends.
Alvin and Norma moved to Eufaula in 2004 where they enjoyed retirement for the next ten years.
After losing the love of his life Alvin moved back to Seminole to live out the remainder of his life.
Alvin leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Sondra Aquilar and her husband Mike of Shelbyville, Illinois, Joyce Allen and her husband, Dewey of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Ivona Watson and her husband, Larry of Seminole, Oklahoma; by one sister, Glenita Thomson of Wichita, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and dear friends.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Walter Yoesel, by his wife of 68 years, Norma Aileen (Mann) Yoesel who died April 17, 2013; and by three brothers.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to, "Doll" Campbell and the staff of Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center, the staff of Seminole Hospital, and to the ladies of Faith Hospice.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Mucllough and Barry Tims officiating the service.

Raymond Withers
Raymond Birl Withers a Ramona, Oklahoma resident, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at the age of 76.
Raymond was born September 19, 1939 in the community of Friendship, just outside of Wetumka, Oklahoma. He lived in Friendship until the age of 10 when the family moved to a farm two miles west of Wetumka.
While in school Raymond set state records in track. He excelled in the 440 and 880, which was a mile run. In 1957, he graduated from Wetumka High School.
After graduating from High School he enlisted in the Army National Guard where he earned the rank of Spec. 4. After his service in the Army National Guard, he was employed at a local truck stop in Wetumka, Oklahoma located at the Highway # 9 and Highway 75 junction.
Raymond met Carolyn Stringfellow and they fell in love and were married. They were not able to have children. They moved from Wetumka to Wewoka, Oklahoma where he was employed with Acker Industry. He worked for Acker until the business closed.
From Wewoka they move to Seminole where he found employment at Kelsey Hayes Axle. After 11 years with Hayes Axle, Raymond went to work for Koch Industry. While working at Koch he was transferred to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. While at Bartlesville he retired from Koch Industry. While living in Ramona, Koch asked him to become their pipeline walker, which he did for three years before retiring again.
Remaining in Ramona, Raymond said good bye to his loving wife and on February 5, 2016, he left this world to join her.
Raymond is survived by four brothers; Bob Royce Withers of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tommy Gerrald Withers of Jacksonville, Florida, Jerry Wayne Withers of Seminole, Oklahoma, Barry Lynn Withers of Auguadilla, Puerto Rico and his wife Carmanita; one sister, Margaret Kristine (Withers) Belle.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Withers; three brothers, Earl Dean Withers, Carlis James Withers, Lee Roy "Leroy" Withers.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Highway Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
Edna Wilson
Edna Mae Wilson, 71 longtime Seminole resident, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Edna was born November 9, 1944 in Seminole to Earl Colbert and Pearl (Mills) Colbert.
Edna was a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. She enjoyed cooking, being with her family and her cats. She was a member of the Church of the Living God and Galilee Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Edna is survived by her son Walter Wilson and his wife, Norma of Baytown, Texas, her daughter Jennifer Freeman and her spouse Stephanie Freeman of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, three sisters Carmelita Jackson, Doris Littleton and Dorothy Wilson all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her grandchildren Jermaine Vaden, Daymon Burris, KaPrisha Burris, Keirra Wilson, Kandis Ellison, Ashley Smith, Caleb Smith and Armani Parker and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Charles Colbert, William Earl Colbert and James Colbert and two sisters Carolyn Jane Smith and Linda Kay Miner.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor J.C. Simpson and Rev. Geraldine Crawford officiating.
Honorary bearers will be, Gilbert Reese, Reginal Knighton, Randy Winrow, Phillip Wilson, Johnny Littleton and Steven Conway.

Bill Wilson
Billy Gene "Bill" Wilson, was born August 28, 1929, in Plainview, Texas to parents Eugene Hendricks Wilson and J.W. "Billie" (Armontrout) Wilson. He attended schools on Petersburg and Plainview, Texas. Bill met Wanda Charlene Ogle on a blind date, and on June 2, 1949, they married in Olton, Texas.
Bill sold real-estate for an agency in Shawnee for one year before starting a real-estate and Tag agency partnership with Curtis O’Daniel in Maud, Oklahoma in 1968. The company was known as "Maud Farmers Land and Homes, " later expanded to include "Maud Tool Company." In 1984 the Wilson’s built a new business, "Maud Flowers and Gifts." Bill later owned and operated along with his son Phillip, "Wilson Equipment Company, " where they sold a wide variety of farm tractors.
Bill passed from this life on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 86.
Bill is survived by two sons, Joel Wilson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Phillip Wilson of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sheila (Wilson) Genoff of Bixby, Oklahoma; one brother, Tommy Wilson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one sister, Lynda Dunn of California; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and dear friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Wilson, by his second wife Karen Richardson-Wilson, and by two brothers, Johnny Wilson and Jerry Wilson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church where Bill served as a Deacon.
The Church is located on old Hwy. 99 south of Seminole in "Letha". Pastor Jared Byrns will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016 and Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Mary Williams
Mary Viola "Ola" (Marx) Williams, 92 year old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born August 3, 1923 in Harjo, Oklahoma to parents Benny Carl Marx and Viola (Johnson) Marx.
Ola had worked for several cafes in Maud and had also worked for nursing homes in the area. Her main love was caring for children in her home. Ola was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved her family with everything she had. She was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Maud.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Monty Ray Jordan and his wife Hazel Jordan of Maud, Oklahoma; two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Joy Demings of Seminole, Oklahoma, Sammie Earlene Anderson and her husband Luther Anderson of Maud, Oklahoma; one brother, Richard Marx of Hephzibah, Georgia; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Ola was preceded in death by her parents, Benny Carl Marx and Viola (Johnson) Marx; by her first husband, Hughie Jordan; by her second husband Sammie Williams who died in November of 1996; 3 brothers, Carl Marx, Stanley Marx and Benny Marx; 3 sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Edith Boren, and Lorene Stalnaker.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Rev. Butch Bradley officiating the service. Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery.

Doris Williams
Shawnee resident Doris D. Williams, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2016.
She was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Eastland County, Texas, to Herbert Alvin and Mary Etta (Burns) Aldridge.
Doris graduated from high school in Odessa, Texas.
She married James Thomas Williams on Jan. 9, 1952, in Odessa.
Jim worked in the oilfield industry in Texas. When they moved to Macomb, Oklahoma, in the '70s, Jim started his own oilfield business. When Jim retired in 1985, they bought an RV and traveled throughout the western United States and then settled back in Konawa. In Konawa, Doris co-owned D&D Flowers with her daughter, Dianne. Doris was an Oklahoma Master Florist. They also owned Broadway Diner where Doris made all the pastries and pies.
Doris devoted her life to Christ and lived her life according to His principles. She was a member of Northeast Freewill Baptist Church in Shawnee and was involved in many activities.
Doris was a charter member of the Spinning Spools Quilt Guild in Shawnee and the Dallas Guild. Over her years as a member, she held numerous positions including program director and president. Quilting was a huge part of her life. She was an accredited judge and appraiser, and she taught quilting. She would travel to different states for quilt shows. Her favorite was the Christmas Quilt Trunk Show that she presented with Ann Woods. She also spent a lot of time making quilts to donate to cancer survivors, natural disaster survivors, and women’s shelters, just to name a few. Doris was a generous person and if she saw someone in need, she would be the first to help. She was also devoted to her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank Angelic Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Doris and the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Williams; parents; and sister, De Alva Aldridge Snell.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Kay Williams Grandstaff and Robert Neil Grandstaff, Dianne Williams Hackett and Stanley Raymond Hackett Sr.; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous other family, church family, and friends.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at Resthaven Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Ticer and Brother Quintin Kay officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Craig Whitten
Craig Lee Whitten, age 64, of Norman, passed away from this world on Thursday, March 3, 2016, in his sleep at his home. The eldest son of Robert Lee Whitten and Agatha Z. Whitten, both deceased, Craig was a graduate of Seminole High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. He was a four year member of the Pride of Oklahoma marching band as well as the Seminole High School marching band.
An avid reader of science fiction and mystery novels, Craig inspired many in his family to become a reader. He was also quite a talker, like his father. Always a kind and gentle soul, no one can remember Craig ever saying anything bad about anyone else. He was always respectful to everyone he met. A diabetic since his teens, Craig never complained. He persevered through adversity in dignified and graceful silence. He was recently diagnosed with a rare form of deadly cancer, but in his typical way, Craig neither complained nor showed fear of death. Some of the last words he spoke were that he didn't want to inconvenience anyone by his illness. Craig was deeply loved by many and he loved his friends and family. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
Craig was preceded in death by his beloved father, Robert Lee Whitten and his mother, Agatha Z Whitten, as well as his nephew Brandon Whitten and Michael Whitten; Craig is survived by his younger brothers, Reggie Whitten of Edmond and Kevin Whitten of Lenexa, KS, as well as his sisters in law Lynn and Rachelle; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly.
On Wednesday, March 9th from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home, friends and family will be provided a chance to pay their last respects to Craig.
A private memorial service will be held graveside at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10th, 2016, with burial at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Donita Whitley
Donita June Whitley, a lifelong Seminole resident, passed from this life on February 5, 2016.
She was born on August 13, 1959 in Seminole to Donald Ray and Doris Mae (Chilcote) Melton. She was a member of Lords Community Church.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Coffee, son Michael Coffee, three brothers Rick, Mike and Terry Melton, one sister Teresa Birdwell, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at TFCU Donita Whitley Memorial Fund in Seminole, OK.

Derril Wheat
Derril D.L. "Pat" Wheat, 84 year old Cromwell, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life at home on Thursday, February 25, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born July 18, 1931 in Snowmak, Oklahoma (just south of Seminole) to parents James Buck Wheat and Oma Hazel (Estep) Baker.
Mr. Wheat served in the United States Army in Korea. He was also a member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma.
On October 23, 1951 Derril married Betty Jean Minie in Van Buren, Arkansas. Together they always enjoyed spending time at Webber Falls to camp and fish. Mr. Wheat enjoyed fish ponds, flea markets and being with his family.
Mr. Wheat retired after working 33 years for C&J Oilfield Trucking in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Mr. Wheat leaves to cherish his memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Laura Wheat of Seminole, Oklahoma, Darren and Khristy Wheat of Cromwell, Oklahoma; five daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Haworth of Maud, Oklahoma, Francis and Steve Keeney of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, Patsy and Ricky Haworth of Seminole, Oklahoma, Brenda and Eddie Johnson of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Joann Wheat of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister, Oma Lee Jarrard of Skiatook, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a host of other family and dear friends. He also had a very special dog, "Tammy" that stayed by his side until the end of his life.
Mr. Wheat was preceded in death by his father, James Buck Wheat; by his mother, Oma Baker; by his wife Betty Jean (Minie) Wheat on July 24, 2001; by one daughter, Patty Burns on November 8, 2014; and by one infant son, Derril Jean Wheat who died in 1956.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016 with Military Honors at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Mr. Wheat’s nephew, Terry Jarrard will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery (located north of Seminole on Hwy. 99).
