Ron Wayne Reno was born on August 17, 1976, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, May 12, 2016, in Seminole, Oklahoma, at the age of 39.
Reno, the son of Rick and Rhonda (Moses) Reno, was a resident of Prague. He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1995. Ron married his high school sweetheart, Kelly Pickard, on September 19, 1998 in Prague.
Reno was the Prague softball coordinator for the North Canadian Softball Association and president of the Prague Youth Softball Association. Reno worked in the oilfield for a total of 21 years. He started out at Morgan Well Service, then went on to Best Well Service and finished out his career with 10 years at New Dominion where he was a well-site supervisor. In his spare time, when he had any, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, coaching his daughters’ softball teams and little league football. He really liked his DIY projects and tinkering in his shop.
Reno's maternal grandparents, Rayburn and Betty Moses preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife of 17 years Kelly Reno of the home; daughters Mallori Reno and Maylee Reno, each of the home; parents Rick and Rhonda Reno of Prague; in-laws Jeff and Cynthia Castleman of Prague, Jimmy and Jenny Pickard of Shawnee, Lavon and Louise Coomer of Prague, Everett and Freda Pickard of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law Teddy Reno and Annah of Prague; sister and brother-in-law Rusty and Wes Seaton of Tecumshe; grandparents, Darrell and Ruth Reno of Stroud and Joyce and Gene Ellison of Prague; nieces and nephews Nylah, Landyn and Adalyn and many other family and friends
The Reno family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons and Bro. Scott Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Curtis Quillin
Curtis Ray Quillin, left this earth on January 10, 2016 at the age of 47.
Curtis was born in 1968 in Seminole, Texas to Karlos and Sally Quillin and he grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Curtis graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, while concurrently attending Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech, where he earned a certificate in welding.
In later years he earned an electrical certification. Curtis was a skilled craftsman and a licensed pilot. In his earlier years he worked in the oil field at Wallace Inc. and as a welder at Parks Tanks. He also worked as a Millwright for several years all over the state of Oklahoma, as a special circuits tech with AT&T.
His real passion and success was as a businessman and cattle rancher. Curtis was a much loved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Gone but never forgotten.

Marion Purkey
Marion Gene Purkey, 62 year old, Tulsa, Oklahoma resident, and former Holdenville resident passed from this life on March 6, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born August 3, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, Marion Hamelton Purkey and Winnie Jean (Dewberry) Purkey.
Marion graduated from Holdenville High School in 1971. On June 6, 1977 he married Sheila Dawn Carter in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Marion and his father owned and operated Purkey’s Glass in Holdenville, Oklahoma for many years. He owned and operated Purkey Enterprises as a property manager. Marion was a member of the Walnut Grove Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Mr. Purkey was survived by his wife Sheila Purkey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one son Matthew Purkey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two daughters Angela Buie of Stroud, Oklahoma and Rebecca Purkey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Joshua Purkey and his sisters Vickie Foster and Cathy Foster.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with John Sokolis and Randy Baumann officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be; Jeremy Foster, Jamal Khalil, Curtis Summers, Terry Shutts, Kevin Buie and Charlie Foster.

Justin Phillips
Justin Lowell Phillips, 59, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, in Cromwell, Oklahoma. Justin was a former Seminole resident and was born July 13, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jacky Phillips and Wanda (Bruce) Phillips.
Justin attended Bowlegs Public Schools and later worked in the Seminole oilfields as a Roustabout and Rig Hand for Joe Mills Well Service and Jerry Scott Drilling Company. Justin was a member of the Lord’s Community Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.
He is survived by a son Justin Glen Phillips of South Carolina, brother Ricky Glen Phillips of Cromwell, Oklahoma, nieces and his nephew and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an unborn daughter, his wife Carla Phillips, and his parents.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the Faith Hospice for their great care.

Charles Pemberton
Charles F. Pemberton, Seminole Oklahoma resident passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the age of 86.
Charles was born August 17, 1929 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, John Harvey Pemberton and Ruth Ellen (Dean) Pemberton.
Charles graduated from Overton High School in Overton, Texas in 1947. He was raised in East Texas and moved to Seminole seven years ago.
Charles was a member of the Church of Christ and employed in the oilfield industry as a supervisor for Baker Hughes Tools. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he was stationed in Germany for 17 months.
Charles is survived by his nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, John Pemberton and mother, Ruth Pemberton Allen; step-father, William Allen; brother, Jim Pemberton and sister, Willetta Sparks.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial taking place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole.

Derrel Pearcy
Derrel "Hop" Verne Pearcy, 76 year old resident of Follett, Texas, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on March 28, 2016. He was born the youngest of four boys in Gorman, Texas on February 24, 1940 to Hollis Oda and Verne Ola (Cornwell) Pearcy.
After graduating High School in Seminole, Texas in 1958, Hop attended West Texas State and graduated from there in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
On June 9, 1962, Hop married Karen "Kack" Sue Bell in the United Methodist Church in Follett and to this union four children were born, Rebecca, Jessy, Kelly and Clay. Hop’s best friend from an early age was Guerry Wright and Kack’s best friend from early childhood was Ann Swope. After the marriage of Ann and Guerry, both couples thought it was great that best friends married best friends.
Hop began his teaching career in Carona, New Mexico where he spent two years before moving to teach in Carrizozo, New Mexico for four years. The Pearcy family moved to Maud, Oklahoma where Hop spent the next 26 years as Head Coach to the Maud Tigers.
Pencil art was a hobby of Hop’s and he was a pretty good artist. His family claims that Hop was a tractor connoisseur and a Brushhog addict. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Maud and attended the United Methodist Church in Follett. Hop was a great dad and coach and at times he thought he was a great cowboy.
Hop was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Peyton Pearcy; brothers Rod and Neil Pearcy; sister-in-law Delores Bell; and brother-in-law Lynn Brown.
He is survived by his wife Karen "Kack" Pearcy of Follett; daughter Rebecca and Terry Goodin of Macomb, OK; son Jessy Pearcy of Lordsburg, NM; daughter Kelly and Kelin Miner of Peidmont, OK; son Clay and Rochelle Pearcy of Newcastle, OK; additional family son Eddie Sweeny of Maud; brother Jan and Charlotte Pearcy of Fairy, TX; sisters-in-law Pat Pearcy, Barbra Brown and Barbara Pearcy; brother-in-law Vernor Bell; grandchildren, Kyle and Tara Goodin and Tyler and Missy Goodin all of Tecumseh, OK, Sarah Goodin and her fiancé Bobby Licklider of Macomb, Cody and Taylor Miner and Hunter Leslie Miner all of Peidmont, Parker, Preston and Paisley Pearcy all of Newcastle, and Derrel Paul Pearcy of Lordsburg; great grandchildren Emery and Ky Goodin of Tecumseh; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Maud High School Gymnasium.
Interment will be at the Fairmont Cemetery in Follett on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 4:00 pm.

Russell Patterson, Jr.
Russell Lowell Patterson, Jr., age sixty-six and a former resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away from this life Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Grace Living Center in Oklahoma City.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Little Chapel, and viewing will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25th at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Russell was born July 22, 1949 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Russell Lowell Patterson, Sr. and Julia Pauline (Gurley) Patterson. He graduated from Seminole High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1973. He was an auto and diesel mechanic.
Russell is survived by his mother, Pauline Patterson of Seminole; one son, Bucky Patterson of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Melissa Cervone of Seminole; one sister, Linda Clifton of Seminole; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Lowell Patterson, Sr. and one grandchild, Julia.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Buster Parks
Billy Carl "Buster" Parks passed away March 3, 2016 in an Oklahoma City hospital from congestive heart failure.
Buster was born June 27, 1933 in Wetumka, OK. His parents were Evelyn Sellers and Beecher Parks. They preceded him in death.
Buster married Louetta Clark on April 20, 1952 in Wewoka, and they made their home there. Louetta and Buster were married 49 years. She preceded him in death August 30, 2001.
Buster worked hard all his life. He left school at the age of 13 and worked on the pipe lines to help support his mother and himself. He worked for Jonco Drilling for many years and then worked for Jerry Scott Drilling before he retired as a tool pusher. Buster loved fighting game cocks with his son Brent Parks . He was so proud of the many trophies he won fighting his chicken., The Governor received many phone calls from him when they out lawed fighting chickens, but he never got passed the secretary answering the phone.
Survivors include his four children B.J. Parks of Wewoka, OK, Vickie North and husband Ray of Little, OK, Pammie Fent of Wewoka, and Brent Parks of Okemah, his partner Ryan Bean, five grandchildren Jesse Smith of Wewoka, January North of Prague, Ray North III of Seminole, Krystal Bryant of Wewoka, and Whitney Pettes of Carlsbad, New, Mexico; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws Shirley and Preston Clark of Mannford, OK, Lavern and Sonny Russell of Pocassett, OK, Linda Green of Noble, OK and many cousins and other relatives and friends.
They would like to thank Ollie Kemp for her wonderful and compassionate care in the last years of his life.
Pallbearers will be Michael Moomey, Ray North, Ray North III, Brent Parks, B. J Parks, and Chris Parsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Muirhead, Gaylon Linddeman, David Calvert, Hyatt Cayton, William Paul Vance, Preston Clark, Sonny Russell, and Jerry Scott.
The family will receive visitors at Busters home Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Martha Palmer
Martha Mae Palmer, 82, longtime Seminole resident, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Martha was born May 6, 1933 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Walter Ceasar and Nancy (Alexander) Burgess.
Martha grew up in the Konawa area and attended Vamoosa School in Seminole County and was a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.
She loved attending church at Spring Indian Church, and was a former member of the Seminole Indian Baptist Church of Konawa, Oklahoma.
Martha’s first marriage was to Johnny Notah from Hunter’s Point, Arizona; he came to live in Seminole County in 1946 after being honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps. They settled in Wewoka in 1950 and he lived there until his death in September 2000. Later she married Don Palmer who also preceded her in death.
Martha is survived by her two sons; Ronald W. Notah of Pensacola, Florida and Anthony C. Notah of Jamestown, New Mexico, her brother Jonas Burgess of Seminole, Oklahoma and half-sister Evelyn Puntka of Shawnee, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, brother Rev. Alexander Burgess, sisters Francis Tanyan, Jane Burgess and Eliza Jessie infant brother and sister, Ina and George Burgess and granddaughter Ronesa "Pooh" Notah.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma, with John Campbell officiating, Burial will be at Little Cemetery.
Wake services will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Antony Notah, Marvin Notah, Michael Notah, Tyler Boydstun, Bobby Boydstun, Jr. and Ronnie Burgess. Honorary bearers will be Nathan Notah, Charles Burgess, Lee Wayne Wood and Micah Notah.

Marvin Osborne
Marvin Osborne, age 78 passed away Saturday, March 19th, 2016 in Oklahoma City. Born to the late Marshall Lane Osborne and Olivia Guess in Konawa, OK.
Marvin graduated from Douglas High School, Wewoka, OK and worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers for a number of years as a crane operator. He was a member of Seminole Nation Tribe and the Tusekia Harjo Band. He married Beatrice Gray September 15, 1956 in Wewoka.
Preceding Marvin in death are his parents, granddaughter Annika Osborne, two brothers Arthur Clark, Jacob Osborne and sister Ethel Clark.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Beatrice (Gray) Osborne of the Wewoka home; children Sheila Osborne of McKinney, TX, Marvin Osborne Jr. of Ringgold, Georgia, Bruce Osborne of Wewoka, OK and Clint Osborne of Hollywood, Maryland P: eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
