Lu Ella Conger, 83, lifelong Seminole resident, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Colonial Estates Nursing Home in Shawnee, where she had been staying for a short time. She was born on February 12, 1932 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Archie Lee Parsons and Sarah (Vela) Parsons.
Lu sold Avon Products for over 30 years, which she loved, because she enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
Her husband Jack and two sons, Richard and Shane Conger preceded her in death. She leaves behind a daughter, Pam Gann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two sons; Jim Conger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and David Conger of Seminole, Oklahoma; three loving daughters-in-law, Toni Nall, Jean Orrell and Lillie Davidson; three grandchildren, Phil Perry, Nicole Conger and James Hewitt, one great grandchild, Randy Don Perry, her cousin and best friend, Marjorie Stewart of Butner, Oklahoma, and a sister-in-law, Velena Sawyer of Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, south of Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Hazel Conatser
Hazel Mae Conatser, 75, longtime Seminole resident, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Seminole. Hazel was born March 28, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Kenneth Panick and Thelma (Zettlemoyer) Panick. She moved to Seminole in 1964 from Texas.
Hazel was a homemaker and a 30 year volunteer with the "Pink Ladies" at Seminole Hospital. Hazel loved children and enjoyed kid’s sports and coached little league baseball for some time. She attended Trinity Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma
Hazel married Harley F. "Buddy" Conatser on August 19, 1960 in Spearman, Texas. Harley preceded her in death on June 10, 2014.
Hazel is survived by three sons and their spouses, Harley Conatser and his wife Teresa of Seminole, Oklahoma, Gary Conatser of Seminole, Oklahoma and Roger Conatser and his wife Lisa of Yukon, Oklahoma, two daughters and their spouses; Karla Leonidou and her husband Costa of California, and Sherry Smith and her husband John of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two brothers Chuck Panick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ricky Lee Panick of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one sister Pauline Doss of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and a host of other dear family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers John Panick, Richard Panick and James Panick, two sisters Marie Panick and Elizabeth Panick.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 15, 2016 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating at the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8: 00 P.M., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt Thank You to "Faith Hospice" and "Visiting Angels" for the outstanding care given to Hazel.

James Colbert
James Colbert was called home while peacefully surrounded by his family on January 19, 2016. James was born February 9, 1944 to Atha (Jack) and Willean Colbert.
James taught and coached high school football prior to joining the Army National Guard where he retired after serving more than 35 years.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Colbert; son, James Colbert Jr.; and granddaughter Triana Thomas.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home, daughter Angela Thomas, sons Jeff Colbert, Chris Mantooth and Brent Mantooth; seven grandchildren, sisters Roberta Wright and husband Herb, Charlene Wall and husband Bob, brothers Sonny Colbert and wife Sharon, Cletus Colbert and wife Cindy, Eddie Colbert, sister-in-law Carolyn Yeoman and husband Byron and numerous nieces and nephews.
James grew to love fishing as a young boy and was most happy living on Keystone Lake where he was able to take his grandchildren fishing to his hearts desire.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 23rd at First United Methodist church on Mannford, OK with interment at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22nd at Mannford Funeral Home from 1-6 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK or to the American Cancer Society.
Ervin Clayton
Ervin Earl Clayton, Wewoka resident, departed this life Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Wewoka, OK. Born July 4, 1934 in Sasakwa, OK to the late Ervin Clayton Sr. and Marie Dona (Rogers) Clayton.
Ervin was a graduate of Sasakwa High School and East Central State College with a bachelor of Arts. He worked for First Nation Bank of Wewoka for a number of years as an loan officer. He served as director and host for many foreign exchange students. He attended First Assembly of God Church, in Wetumka.
Preceding Ervin in death are his parents, sisters Dorothy Whitlock, Thelma Williams, and one brother Delbert Clayton.
Survivors include daughters Cynthia Ann Sheridan of Burleson, TX, Bonnie Ranae Whitley of Sand Springs, OK, Kevin Earl Clayton of Wewoka, OK and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 9, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Curt Bellinger officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan Sheridan, Ryan Whitley, Anthony Sheridan, and Alex Whitley.

Pamela Christ
Former longtime Wewoka resident Pamela Kay Probasco Christ passed away Saturday, April 16th, 2016 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 68. Pam was born September 29th, 1947 in Abilene Kansas to George Probasco and Juanita Young Probasco. Pam graduated from Cushing High School and then graduated from Central State with a Masters Degree of Counseling. Pam then attended Oklahoma State University pursuing her Doctorate degree.
Pam worked many years as a counselor for Wewoka Public Schools. She enjoyed enriching the lives of others thru education. Pam loved to go shopping and reading. Pam enjoyed life and most of all she loved her boys; Ryan and Blake.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson Garrett Christ. Pam is survived by her sons; Ryan and Stacy Christ of Wewoka and Blake and Amber Christ of Tecumseh, grandchildren; Gracie Christ, Irie Christ, Clara Christ and Creed Christ, sisters; Sharon Peery of Stillwater, Chrystal Probasco of Skiatook Oklahoma and her brother Erv Comer of New Mexico.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 20, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Cushing with Brother Dan Anderson officiating and interment to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Stephen Chance
Stephen Randell Chance, age 64 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at his home Friday, January 29, 2016
No memorial service is planned at this time, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Stephen was born January 15, 1952 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Charles Chance and Inez (Bird) Chance. He worked as a medical technician aide, and married Doris K. Lang.
He is survived by his wife, Doris K. Chance of the home; one son, Stephen Chance, Jr. of Cleburne, Texas; one daughter, Stephanie Wilson of Burleson, Texas; two step-sons, Todd and Thomas Webb of Purcell, Oklahoma; two brothers, Billy Chance of Waco, Texas and James Chance of Cleburne, Texas; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Inez Chance and one son.
Kenneth Chambers
Honorable Chief Kenneth "Foley" Edward Chambers, 65 passed away from this life on Friday, May 13, 2016 at his home with his wife Deb by his side.
Chief Chambers was born on July 11, 1950 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to parents Martha (Factor) and Lawrence Chambers. On January 27, 1990 Ken married Deb Johnston.
Ken worked all his life in the power plant and construction industry. He took a four year break when he was elected to the position of Chief of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma from 2001 to 2005. He was a member of the Tallahassee Band and the Deer Clan. He was a member of the Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Deb, daughter Sheri Reynolds of Oklahoma City, son Kenny Chambers of Holdenville, son Brian Chambers of Ponca City, nine grandchildren Also, his sisters Wanda Bruner of Oklahoma City, Ruby Rose of Seminole and Lena McWilthy of Ada, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Lawrence Chambers, brothers Jessy Ray Chambers, Charles Edward Chambers and Tommy Lawrence Chambers.
A wake service was held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka. Rev. Kelly Tiger officiated the services.
Pallbearers will be Nyko Symonds, Gage Chambers, Kenny Chambers, Brian Chambers, Jason Reynolds, and Dave Imwalle.

Eugene Birkicht
Eugene Howard Birkicht was born on July 27, 1924, in Seminole County, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 91.
Eugene, the son of Ira Oliver and Beulah Bell (Parsons) Birkicht, was a resident of Seminole.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Eugene worked as a truck driver for a box factory for over 17 years.
Eugene’s parents, two infant sisters and one brother, Billy Ray Birkicht preceded him in death.
Survivors include: Daughters and son-in-law, Jeannie and Barry Whitten of Tulsa, and Vickie Fry of Muskogee; Grandchildren, Justin Fry of Muskogee, Jarrod Fry of Muskogee, and Dora Burge of Tulsa; Great-grandchildren, Jacob and Charlotte Fry; Brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Delores Birkicht of Spencer, Fred and Dorothy Birkicht of Pineville, LA, and
Ira Charles Birkicht of Prague; Sisters, Rosa Goforth of Seminole, and Norma Lee Goss of Seminole and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Pastor Doug Meshell officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole.

Donna Bergen
Donna Bergen, 52, Del City, Oklahoma resident died, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Del City, Oklahoma. Donna was born November 25, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Homer and Virginia Bergen.
Donna grew up in the Maud, Oklahoma area and attended Maud Public Schools. She was a dress shop manager and a hostess at a restaurant. Donna enjoyed the summer. She loved the sun, going to the lake, fishing, and tent camping. Some of her fondest memories growing up were camping trips at Lake Murray and in the Kiamichi mountains where the family would meet the Texas cousins every summer. Donna loved her family and friends, and was always the life of the party.
Donna attended and was a member of the St. Louis Baptist Church in St. Louis, Oklahoma, where she was saved in January 1973.
Donna is survived by her parents; Homer and Virginia Bergen of Shawnee, Oklahoma, her sister, Cindy Bergen Guinn and her husband B.J. of Shawnee, Oklahoma, her children; Miranda Groves and her husband KC of Paden, Oklahoma, Zach Cheatham of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Daniel Cheatham of Prague, Oklahoma; grandchildren Colten White, Tynslee White, Kahle Groves, Bob Groves, Adelene Cheatham, Bentley Cheatham; nieces and nephews; Jessica Pospisil, Jeremiah Pospisil, Jarrett Guinn and Randi Guinn, Drew, Asher, and Emmy Guinn and Jett and Phoenix Novotny, also by her loving caregiver and close friends Don " Pops" Hullett and Bob Peters, whom she also considered her family.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Charles Belcher
Charles Clifford "Perk" Belcher, Seminole resident, died January 18, 2016 at his home in Seminole. Charles was born January 18, 1930 in Clendenin, West Virginia, to Walter and Lula (Norwell) Belcher.
Charles served in the U. S. Navy from 1959 to 1954. Charles was retired from International Harvester after 21 years as a diesel mechanic.
After retirement he worked as a mechanic for a trucking company in Midwest City, Oklahoma and Thompson and Son’s Oil drilling company in Asher, Oklahoma. He was a hardworking man who took very good care of his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fixing things and working crossword puzzles.
He married Betty Rhodes Belcher on May 18, 1954 and they were married for 61 years.
Perk is survived by his wife Betty Belcher of Seminole, two daughters, Shelly Kurkey and her husband Donny of Rootstown, Ohio and Teresa Swofford and her husband John of Seminole, Oklahoma, a son Michael Belcher and his wife Glennda of Wewoka, Oklahoma; sisters Phyllis Boggs of Cleveland, Ohio, Betty Woods of Fallingrock, West Virginia, Linda Woods of Cottontree, West Virginia, Joy Beirne of Clendenin, West Virginia and Annie Gandee of Clendenin, West Virginia, two brothers, Don Belcher of Deerfield, Ohio and Bill Belcher of Cleveland, Ohio; his grandchildren, Mitchell Belcher, Vernon Belcher, Amber Marley, Kevin Kurkey, Kyle Marley, Jeff Kurkey and Marissa Williams; great grandchildren, Taylor Young, Mayce LeForce and Donald LeForce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry Lee, Cecil Edward, Robert, James Herman and Clyde Emerson, a sister Maudie Mae, and children Tom Belcher and Jonathon Belcher.
