Jimmy Dale Kean, 72 year old Seminole County resident, passed from this life on January 28, 2016 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born September 14, 1943 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Albert Forest Kean and Cora (Edney) Kean.
Following High School Jimmy enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany, Thailand, and Vietnam. During his service he earned the rank of Sargent, Jimmy also earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Jimmy went on to own and operate, "Kean’s Trucking" for several years. On July 10, 2012 Jimmy married Rosa (Uhl) Kean in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Kean of the home; two sons, Eric Kean and his wife Sherry of Missouri, Ricky Kean of Ada, Oklahoma; two daughters, Linda Martin of Phoenix, Arizona, Regina Zanis of Jensen Beach, Florida; five brothers, Eldon Kean of Seminole, Oklahoma, Melvin Kean of Aurora, Missouri, Carroll Don Kean of Aurora, Missouri, Lonnie Kean of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jerry Kean of Arkansas; four sisters, Dora Jacks of Moore, Oklahoma, Glenda Roland of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Sue LeMaster of Seminole, Oklahoma, Barbara Kean of Sulphur, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Cora Kean, by one step-daughter, Linda Zeien, and by one brother, Kenneth Kean.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma with Military Honors. Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.

"Corky" Johnson
Mr. Jimmy Joe "Corky" Johnson of Lexford Court, formerly of Seminole, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at his home.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Lee Proctor. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Corky was born Sept. 21, 1947, in Shawnee to Joe E. Johnson and the late Jimmie Nell Sharp Johnson. He was a custom home-builder in North Carolina and Oklahoma for over 40 years, being personable with each of his clients. When he was not working, Corky was an avid deer hunter. He traveled to many states and Canada for the "thrill of the hunt." Corky also enjoyed piddling with woodworking.
Corky is survived by his wife, Sherry Simpson Johnson; sons, Eric Johnson and wife Beth of Monroe, and Brent Johnson of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Emma and Zachary Johnson; father, Joe E. Johnson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; sister, Debbie Kinnamon and husband Jim of Shawnee, Oklahoma; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and Sherry’s children, Lori Barnhardt Nash and husband Kenny, Devon Barnhardt and wife Michele, and grandchild Morgan Barnhardt.

True Vernon Huddleston, 78 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his home in Seminole.
He was born July 16, 1937 in Clayton, New Mexico to parents, Henry Baker Huddleston and Alice (Gonzales) Huddleston.

Ann Houston
Services for G. Ann Houston, 80, of Konawa were 2:00 Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada. Rev. Roger Miller officiated. Burial followed at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Houston passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was born September 12, 1935 in Sasakwa to Troy and Sarah Doolen. She attended Rocky Point grade school and graduated from Vamoosa High School. She received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from East Central Univeristy in Ada.
She married Bill Houston June 26, 1954 in Konawa. He preceded her in death October, 2001. Mrs. Houston was a 3rd grade teacher for the Konawa School System until her retirement. She was a Christian and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Sam Houston and his wife Nannette of Sand Springs; a granddaughter, Laci Stocks and her husband Bobby of Coweta; grandson, Cody Houston of Sand Springs; a sister, Fern King of Konawa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Harrison Doolen; and two sisters, Jesse Doolen-Ward and Johnnie Collinsworth.
Bearers were her son, Sam Houston; grandson, Cody Houston; granddaughter, Laci Stocks; and grandson-in-law, Bobby Stocks.
Dewayne Hopkins
Dewayne Edward Hopkins, 47, Seminole resident, died Friday, February 12, 2016 in Seminole. Dewayne was born February 15, 1968 to Jauleel Ray Hopkins and Ruth Ann (Stevens) Hopkins in Enid, Oklahoma.
Dewayne was a Certified Nurse Assistant and Security Guard. He married April Dawn Streater on May 1, 2006 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Dewayne is survived by his wife, April Hopkins of Seminole, Oklahoma, his father-in-law and mother–in-law Kirk and Edwina Goodman of Wewoka, Oklahoma, two brothers Darrel Wade Hopkins and Ray Hopkins both of Seminole.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

Dwayne Holland
Dwayne Holland age 77 of Wewoka, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 16, 2016 in Ada, OK. Born July 19, 1938 in Tupelo, OK to the late Harvey ND Holland and Mildred Madilene Hanson Holland. He was a graduate of Stonewall High School and on October 14, 1977 he married Donna Gray.
Dewayne worked as a mechanic for Big Yank in Wewoka, for a number of years.
Preceding Dewayne in death are his parents, two brothers Glenn Edward Holland, and Donald Lee Holland, one sister Yuvonda Ruth Holland.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Donna Holland of the home, son Ricky Dewayne Holland of Ada, OK; daughter Doris Lynell Hayes of Ada, OK; Step-children Cheryl Eubanks of Anaheim, CA, Dana Young of Norman, OK, Rhonda Bush of Enid, OK; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers Charles Holland, and Troy Holland both of Durant, OK; one sister Wanda Maples, of Bonham, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Holland, Chris Holland, Troy Holland, Charles Holland, Cody Clopton, Joseph Chavez, and Michael Hayes.
Funeral Service were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 19, 2016 at the Wewoka Church of Christ with Aaron Alsbrook officiating.

Billy Higdon
Billy served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant. He served for 20 years and was active in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He played basketball while in the U.S. Air Force and was known as "Shanks". He also voluntarily coached little league baseball and basketball while in the military.
Billy grew up in Seminole and graduated from Seminole Public Schools. After retiring from the military he later received his Master’s Degree in Education from, East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Billy was a school teacher and coach. He coached basketball and baseball. He taught in Calvin and Maud school systems. He was also a well know referee throughout the state of Oklahoma and was known as "Coach" by many.
Billy was a member of the Church of Christ, Elks Lodge # 2516 and served as secretary, and the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association.
Billy married Anna Marie (Hollingshead) Higdon on July 12, 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Billy is survived by his wife of 63 years Anna Marie Higdon of Seminole, Oklahoma, two sons, Don Higdon and his wife Tracy of Arkansas, and Tom Higdon and his wife Karen of Arkansas, one daughter, Mona Reeves and her husband Mark of Konawa, Oklahoma, one sister, Margie Tull of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Billy was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family dearly. Some of his favorite hobbies included: Camping, following his grandchildren in sports and other activities, and researching his family tree.
He will be missed by all.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 16, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Mr. Higdon will receive full military honors at the service.

Randy Hester
Randy Earle Hester, long time Seminole, Oklahoma, resident passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at his home in Seminole at the age of 62.
Randy was born July 27, 1953 in Fairhope, Alabama to parents, Clinton Benjamin Hester and Bobbie Claire (Jolley) Hester.
Randy married Nancy (Thomas) Hester, January 1, 2001 at Atoka, Oklahoma. He was a retired loan manager.
Randy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma.
Randy is survived by his wife, Nancy of the home, son, Billy Clinton Hester of Wylie, Texas; three daughters, Judith Lynn Tatom of Panama City Beach, Florida, Christi Eastwood of Atoka, Oklahoma, Marinda Copeland of Atoka, Oklahoma; one brother, Robert (Bob) Hester of Raleigh, North Carolina; one sister, Linda Erickson of Yukon, Oklahoma and seven grandchildren.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton Benjamin Hester and Bobbie (Jolley) Hester.
Memorial services are planned for 2:00 p.m. Monday May 16, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Coy Tingle officiating.

Denny Heath
Dennis "Denny" Lloyd Heath, age 73, passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at his home in Kaw City. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at First Osage Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorials to American Legion in Ralston and contributions may be left at Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home.
Denny was born Aug. 2, 1942 in Seminole, the son of Clair and Geneva Faulkner Heath. He attended Fairfax Public Schools and served in the National Guard for 11 years. He served on the Fairfax School Board from 1975 to 1986 and was the owner/operator of Errols Auto Body in Fairfax. His hobbies were Wednesday night poker with his friends, fishing with Chuck, OU football, the Bluegrass Festival and he loved cooking for his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving life partner, Jill Hogan Sims, of Kaw City and his previous wife of 22 years Cecelia Daniels Heath; two daughters Irene Gibson, of Fairfax and Dawna Bowman and husband Mark, of Fairfax; four grandchildren, Jared and Sasha Gibson and Lee and Chase Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Benton Welch and Hunter Gibson; extended family, Danny Sims and son Riley, of Wichita, Kan.; Tiffany and Steven Blake and sons Cooper and Mason, of Edmond; Whitney and Chad Phipps and children Madison, Dalton and Clayton; two brothers, Errol Heath, of Pawhuska and Doyle Heath and wife Wanda, of Fairfax; three sisters, Paula Elliott and husband Lee, of Fairfax; Jeanith Goad and partner Mike, of Oologah; and Johnna Kerr and husband Marty, of Winfield, Kan. He "Loved Many" and was Loved by "Many More" — Denny knew not one stranger. He had a heart of gold our community will miss him dearly.
Shelia Hatton
Shelia Christine (Higdon) Hatton, age 56 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life December 31, 2015 at her home.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9th at the River Church located in Ada, Oklahoma. Jeremy O’Brian will officiate, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Shelia was born August 4, 1959 in Ada, Oklahoma to John Cecil Higdon and Margaret Marie (Langford) Higdon. She worked as a sewing operater at Wrangler, and she also worked for Reeves Packing and for the Salvation Army.
She married Wesley Lee Hatton in Ada, Oklahoma. Shelia enjoyed being with family and friends, and she loved cooking funeral dinners for the church.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley Hatton of Ada; one daughter, Felecia Griffis of Konawa; and numerous family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Higdon; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Higdon and Cealra Higdon.
George Harrison
George Harrison former Wewoka resident, age 65 of Norman, OK passed away Monday, February 29th, 2016 at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Born February 27, 1951 in Wewoka, OK to the late Grover Harrison and Judy (Tiger) Harrison.
George was a graduate of Hartshorne High School and later served in the United States Marine Corps serving in The Vietnam War. George was a member of Hill Top Presbyterian Church in Wewoka.
George is preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Laverne Johnson, Buddy Harrison, Willie Harrison, Thomas Harrison and James Harrison.
George is survived by his wife Karen Harrison of Norman, children; Anthony Lee Byrd of Okmulgee, George Harrison Jr. of Norman, Gregory Harrison of Norman, six grandchildren; siblings; Richard Harrison of Wewoka, Eugene Harrison of Wewoka, Leroy Harrison of Wewoka, Raymond Harrison of Wewoka, Wanda Bruner of Wewoka, Patricia Harrison of OKC, Juanita Williams of Wewoka, and adopted brother Bill Graham of OKC.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 5, 2016 at The Wewoka Hill Top Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mickey Hill and Pastor Larry Harrison officiating.

David Hargis
Melvin David Hargis, 54, lifelong Seminole resident, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Seminole, Oklahoma. David was born June 28, 1961 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Melvin Eugene and Nancy Etta (Littlejohn) Hargis.
David attended Seminole Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in the class of 1979. He attended and graduated from Seminole State College and while at SSC he worked in the Assist Lab as a tutor. He completed his education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
He was currently employed with Clour Engineering in Norman, Oklahoma, until his death. He worked with his grandfather Clarence Hargis and father Melvin Hargis in the Hargis Cabinet Shop on West Strothers for many years. He enjoyed meetings of the Tool collectors club and going to tool shows looking for deals on antique tools, which he loved to collect. He was a member of the Midwest Tool Collectors Association. He also loved computers and anything to do with them. David was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Although David was a very private person, he always came through for his family in their time of need, He was dearly loved and we will all miss him deeply.
David is survived by his sisters Nancy Jeanette Tiger of Seminole, Oklahoma and Martha Ellen Howard and her husband Kirk of Allen, Texas, his nieces and nephews Nancy Ellen Maye and Kursten Devoe Maye both of Seminole, Oklahoma and Leah Nicole Howard and Adam Howard both of Allen, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Bill Barnett of the Indian Nations Baptist Church in Seminole, will officiate at the service.
