Elizabeth Ruth "Liz" Gunter, 75, longtime Seminole resident and educator, died Friday, January 22, 2016 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Elizabeth was born September 28, 1940 in McCamey, Texas to William Wallace and Nancy Ellen (Selby) Littlejohn.
She grew up in McCamey, Texas until the 1950’s when she moved to Seminole, where she continued her education at Seminole Public Schools and graduated from Seminole High School in 1958. She attended East Central University where she received her Master of Education degree.
Liz taught school at Seminole Public Schools for the entire 32 years of her career, before retiring in 1999. "She was truly a master teacher".
Liz enjoyed playing BUNKO, reading, lunch with her SHS class of 1958 girls, visiting the shut-ins from her church, writing memories of her grandkids in her "Nana book", traveling, especially to National Parks, fishing, and making gingerbread houses every year for the grandkids.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole, the ladies UMW group, PEO, Seminole Chamber of Commerce (member and volunteer), Self-Culture Club, past member of the Seminole Arts Council, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, American Association of University Women, and the OEA, NEA Teachers Association. Locally she was a lifetime member of the Seminole Alumni Association and Ducks Unlimited, on the board of trustees for the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum, Seminole County Retired Teachers, and Volunteer reader for the Seminole Public Library Children’s Story Hour.
She married Herbert Dee "Herb" Gunter on October 1, 1960 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Liz is survived by her husband of 55 years, Herb Gunter of Seminole, her two daughters, Sonia Scott of Seminole, Oklahoma, Carrie Nault and her husband Kyle of Ardmore, Oklahoma, four grandchildren Colby Scott of Seminole, Oklahoma, Katie Scott of Seminole, Oklahoma, Kyla Nault of Frisco, Texas and P.T. Nault of Pasadena, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Hargis, son-in-law Tom Scott, aunts Hazel Colby and June and Bob Davis.
Funeral services will at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church on Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Clint Dawkins and Rev. Gary O. Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
Casket bearers will be Kyle Nault, P.T. Nault, Colby Scott, Rodney May, Bill Hooten and Dustin Holliday.
The family request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church youth group at 910 W. Wrangler Blvd, Seminole, Oklahoma and the Northwood School, Camp Goddard Fund at P.O. Box 1031, Seminole, Oklahoma 74818.

David Green
David Ray Green, 59 year old Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home in Shawnee. He was born March 7, 1956 in Boise City, Oklahoma to parents, Gilford Lee Green and Dianna Jean (Cowen) Green.
David had worked as a carpenter for many years. He was also affiliated with the Church of God in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna Green of Maud, Oklahoma; two daughters, Christy Lynn (Green) Coy of Hobbs, New Mexico, Deia Marie Green of Saint Louis, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wayne Green of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Darrell Green of Clayton, New Mexico; two sisters, Kay Reed of Maud, Oklahoma, Elsie Jurjda of Trinidad, Colorado; 4 grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, by three sisters, Janice Green, Carolyn Woodington, Lou Marquez, and by one brother, Tommy Greene.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Sylvia Graves
Sylvia Lou Graves of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 years.
Sylvia Lou Graves was born on December 18, 1941, in Hartford, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Sylvester and Betty Opal (Loftis) Howard.
As an infant she moved with her family to California. In 1945 she moved with her family back to the Seminole, Oklahoma area where she attended Pleasant Grove Public Schools, graduating from Pleasant Grove High School in 1960. Following her education she married Robert Duane Graves in Seminole, Oklahoma, on August 21, 1961, and they made their home in Wheeling, Illinois. In 1963 they moved back to Seminole, Oklahoma, and in 1968 they moved to Perry. She worked as a cashier for Best Yet Foods in Perry retiring in 1997. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Perry. She loved spending time with her family, grandkids and her dog Louie. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and shopping.
She is survived by her husband Robert Duane Graves of the home; three daughters, Rhonda Hodge of Edmond, Oklahoma, Valerie Noman and husband Lyn of Perry, Oklahoma, Marsha Sobonya and husband Chris of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two sons, Chris Graves of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and Lance Graves and Brandi of Stillwater, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Harley Howard of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jimmy Howard and wife Harriett of Seminole; Kenneth Howard and wife Linda of Seminole; and Rick Howard and wife Phyllis of Kansas City, Missouri; and one sister Gail Anderson of Norman, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Curtis Howard; one half sister, Betty Johnson; one brother-in-law, Jerry Anderson; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Howard.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Perry Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma.
Services are scheduled for today at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma.
Donald Goodman
Donald DeWayne Goodman, was born Aug. 6, 1938 in Blackwell, the son of Harold Wayne and Zelphia Biby Goodman. Donald passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, with Mark Wright officiating. Funeral service and burial in Dewey Cemetery were under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory, Bartlesville.
Donald grew up in the Blackwell, Ponca City and the Bartlesville area. He married his beloved Wanda Mae Dallas on March 31, 1962 at Pawnee. They made their first home at Fort Riley, Kan., and following his military services they moved to Wewoka, where he was employed with the I-40 Highway construction project.
They later moved to western Kansas and then Cherokee, Okla., to Claremore and then to the Copan area in the late 1960s to make their permanent home. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or at least gave a darn good try to! He worked many jobs to support his family. He worked nights at Founder in Dewey and hauled hay by day with his wife as the driver and kids in the truck cab. He worked at a coal mine in Welch, Okla., until it closed down then went on to work for Bill Doenges as a farm and ranch hand then to a mechanic at Doenges Ford in Bartlesville where he retired in 1997.
He was a well-loved man with many stories to tell. He enjoyed sitting on his swing with his wife relaxing and enjoying the outdoors while watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren running and playing outside with their dogs and animals. His hobbies were farming and feeding his cattle on a daily basis.
Daddy/papa will always be in our hearts loved and missed daily. He was a great friend, husband, brother and father and the greatest papa.
He is survived by daughter, Gayla Goodman, of the home; Delbert and his wife Cathy, of Ramona, Kevin and his wife Christina, of Dewey; granddaughters, Briana Goodman-Stitt and husband Jonathon, of Kingfisher and Kasey Nicole Drennan-King, of Bartlesville; grandsons, Dane, Kaleb Isaac and Jeffery Goodman Bradley Carroll Martin Blum and his wife Corey and Jacob Blum; great-granddaughters, Braely, Brystel, and Brinley Stitt, Andrea and Gentry Blum; great-grandsons, Kadon and Kason Barnard, Garrett and Simon Blum; his brother, Harold Goodman and his wife Connie of Marland; sister, La Donna Kay Leon, of Ponca City; and numerous nieces nephews and great-nieces and -nephews with more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry; beloved wife, Wanda; both his parents; and granddaughter-in-law, Bobby Blum.
Ronald Garrison
Ronald Allen Garrison, son of Robert and Saundra Garrison of Seminole, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 49. He was born in Broken Arrow on April 16, 1966.
Other survivors include his brother Robert Wayne Garrison and nephew Marine Sargeant Robby Garrison.
Services are pending at a later date, along with a grave side ceremony that will be held at Little Cemetery.
Newman Factor
Newman Lee Factor was born on November 30, 1940, in Limestone, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, April 21, 2016, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 75.
Newman, the son of Tony and Yannah Factor, was a resident of Prague. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He married JoAnn Doris Miller on June 23, 2001. He worked in law enforcement and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Prague.
Newman’s parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife of 14 years JoAnn Doris Factor of the home; sons Jimpsey of Ada, and Jerome Factor of Tahlequah; daughters Gwendolyn of Ada, Johnita Verdugo of Whittier, CA, and
JoNell Botello of Norwalk, CA; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers Edward Factor of Wewoka, Walter Factor of Wewoka, Noah Factor of Okemah, Charlie Factor of Wewoka, and Shaleign Factor of Wewoka; sisters Mary Jane Morgan of Wewoka, and Christine Factor of Wewoka; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
JoAnn Factor will receive family and friends for a wake service on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Prague with Rev. Randall Miller and Rev. Richard Botello officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery in Seminole County escorted by the Seminole Nation Lighthorsemen.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Jacob Embrey
Jacob Tyler Embrey of The Colony, TX was called to Heaven on September 21st, 2016. He passed away after a brief illness and went quietly in his sleep.
Jacob was born June 25, 2003 in Dallas, TX to Dana and Shawnelle Embrey. Jacob was the second of three children with older brother Aaron, 16 and younger sister Macy, 10. Jacob was in the 8th grade at Lakeview Middle School in The Colony, TX. He was a member of The Choctaw Nation.
Jacob is survived by his parents, his maternal grandfather; Robert Lewis of Dallas, TX, fraternal grandmother Ruth Johnston Embrey of Terrell, TX, maternal Aunt Stephanie Lewis of Dallas, TX, several aunt and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jacob is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Julis Kinney Lewis, fraternal grandfather Rene Embrey and his uncle George Embrey.
Wake service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday September 27, 2016 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home chapel.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday September 28, 2016 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kellos Walker and Rev. Curtis Kinney officiating.
There will also be a candlelight service for his friends and classmates Monday September 26, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in The Colony, Texas at Calvary Christian Center.
Jacobs favorite color was purple, so we request attendees to wear purple in his memory.
Interment will follow at the Kinney family cemetery in Wewoka, OK

Felicia Echelle
Felicia Marie Echelle, 38 year old, lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life on Thursday, May 19, 2016 following an automobile accident in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. She was born November 8, 1977 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Bill Preston Miller and Deborah (Monks) Miller.
Felicia graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1995 and went on to earn her Master’s degree from Mid-America College.
On October 17, 2002 Felicia married Mark Echelle in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Felicia worked as a "Senior Casualty Specialist" for Farm Bureau Insurance Company. She was also a very devoted wife and mother. She was always involved in her children’s school functions at both Northwood and Wilson Schools in Seminole.
Felicia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 14 years, Mark Echelle of the home, two sons, Kaden James Echelle, John Bryan Echelle, and one daughter, Emilie Nicole Echelle, all of the home; her mother, Deborah Jones of Seminole, Oklahoma; three brothers, Carl and his wife Danielle Miller of Honolulu, Hawaii, Bill P. Miller of Seminole, Oklahoma, Rustyn Jones of Noble, Oklahoma; two sisters, Justice Jones of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Jessica Jones of Seminole, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Shirley Graves Watson and her husband Ray of Seminole, Oklahoma; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Felicia is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Albert "Sonny" Miller and Doris Marie Miller, by her father, Bill Preston Miller Sr. who died April 10, 1990, and by her maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Wanda Monks.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Bowlegs Assembly of God Church with Allen Lewis and Pastor Roy Robertson officiating the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Albert Dugan
Albert Cecil Dugan was born on February 12, 1932, in Cove, Arkansas, and departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2016, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 83.
Albert, the son of Walter Scott and Alma (Smith) Duggan, was a resident of Prague. He married Rosemary "Peggy" Southerland on November 26, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He worked for Wolverine and S&S Feed. Albert was a member of Prague Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and caring for farm animals especially horses.
Albert’s parents, brothers, Bill, Hoyt and Curtis Duggan and sister, Myrtle McGee preceded him in death.
Survivors include: His wife of 63 years Rosemary Dugan of the home; Son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Toni Dugan of Prague; Daughter, Rena Ligon and her companion, Clayton Stover of Prague; Grandchildren, Colby Dugan, Ginni Lou Dugan, Bradley and Michelle Jenkins, and Kim and Jason Turner; Great-Grandchildren, Austen, Sophia, Alaynia, and Braxtyn; Brother, Jerry Duggan of Wilburton; Sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Monroe Bailey of Collinsville, as well as other family and friends.
