Sarah "Sally" Audrey Lovine (Schafer) Baker passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at Heritage Hills Nursing Home in McAlester at the age of 67.
Sally was born March 17, 1948 in Higgins, Okla. to Gene Shaffer and Wanda Lee (Hurst).
She was a loving homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Sally loved spending time outside camping at the area lakes where she lived and enjoyed drinking her coffee.
She loved life and was loved by all who knew her. She also loved her dog, Mikey.
Sally is survived by her husband Rick Baker of Blocker; her dad, Billy Franklin of Wilburton; two sons, Brett Jones of Hartshorne and Bobby Adams of the home; two daughters, Tonya Adams Brown of Gowen and Tammy Ford and her husband Nathan of Jenks, Okla.; two brothers, Skeeter Franklin and his wife Sharon of Wilburton and Barry Franklin and his wife Kim of Gowen; one sister, Brenda Franklin of Hartshorne; grandchildren, Brittany Jones and Bo Jones of Bowlegs, Bailey Jones and Blakely Morris of Gowen, Tyler Joe Sipes and Blake Sipes of Gowen, Marissa Sipes of Shawnee, Sarah and Kaylee Brown of Hartshorne, Rebecca and Nate Ford of Jenks; great-grandchildren, Bretlea Layne Bolles and Khylen Valence; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Shaffer; mother Wanda Lee Franklin; grandmother, Gladys and uncles, Barry and Jim Mitchell and David Kuykendall.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Faith Assembly of God in Gowen with Pastor Jeff Ainsworth officiating.
Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
Lucille Chupco
Lucille (Tiger) Chupco, 89 year old, Seminole, Okla. resident passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at her home in Seminole.
She was born July 16, 1925 in Seminole to parents, Jesse Tiger and Mindy (Jones) Tiger.
The family lived in Seminole County until Lucille’s father, Jesse took a job with the W.P.A. and the family moved to Altus, Okla. in 1940.
Then in 1944 Lucille graduated from Altus High School and went on to earn her associate degree from Western State College in Altus.
On October 10, 1950 Lucille married Amos Chupco in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
In 1965 Amos retired from the United States Army after 21 years of service.
The couple moved to Chicago, Ill. in 1969 when Amos took a job with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Relocation Training Program.
They returned to Seminole 41 years ago to live out the remainder of their lives together.
Sadly, Amos preceded her in death, after almost 55 years of marriage on February 22, 2005.
Lucille was an avid sports fan who loved almost any sport from golf to the occasional bull riding events.
She was most fond of OU, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Lucille also enjoyed playing Bingo.
She was a member of the Achena Indian Presbyterian Church near Maud, Okla. Lucille was also a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.
Lucille leaves to cherish her memory, her loving granddaughter and caregiver, Bettie Chupco and her husband Joe Luna Jr. of the home; one daughter, Phyllis Platta of Mescalero, N. M.; one daughter-in-law, Debra Chupco-Jones of Wetumka, Okla.; aunt, Dorothy Jones-Harjo of Seminole, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Bettie Chupco, James Chupco Jr., Treva Chupco, Lucinda Chupco, Jessie Zysk, Benedict Platta and Newton Platta; five great-grandchildren, Sage Chupco, Chebon Chupco, Pierce Zysk, Darwin James "D.J." Chupco and Kiah Zysk; and a host of other nieces, nephews and a host of other family and dear friends.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mindy Tiger; her husband Amos Chupco who died Feb. 22, 2005; and by one son, James Edward Chupco Sr. who died in 2003.
A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at Achena Indian Presbyterian Church near Maud, with Lewis Fife officiating the wake.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at Achena Indian Presbyterian Church near Maud, with Rev. Rick Harjo officiating the service.
Interment will follow at the Achena Church Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be: Marion Jones, Joel Luna Jr., Glen Coker, Allen Aldridge, Mark Evans, and Anthony Nguyen.
Honorary Bearers will be: Steve Jones, Keith Coker, Hayden Jones, Chris Tiger, and the Elders of Achena Indian Presbyterian Church.

Wayne Fuqua
H. Wayne "Wire" Fuqua passed away September 27, 2014 at his home in San Jose, Calif.
His wife, children and grandchildren were by his side. Wayne was born Harold Wayne Fuqua on Nov. 11, 1935.
He was the fourth child born to Robert "Bob" and Tessie Hall Fuqua (and their fourth child to die). Wayne/Wire married Deanna Payne-Vincent on April 26, 1956.
They were happily married for over 58 years before he passed away of an untreatable neuroendocrine cancer. He was diagnosed June 2014.
Wayne/Wire spent a little time working for his family’s business, Fuqua Construction and National Concrete.
He struggled with school until he discovered math in high school.
Then he found a career in early programming and worked as a system programmer the next 40 years until he retired.
He kept his love of music (thanks to JJ McCoy) whether classic, rock or country, he loved it all.
He also loved the outdoors. Yellowstone and Sequoia National Parks were his favorites.
He enjoyed rafting, viewing the ocean and sharing short sails with his daughters and son.
He also loved chess, shooting pool, reading Michael Crighton as well as history based novels.
Wayne/Wire and Deanna danced on their first date and danced on for most of their marriage. Both SHS students, Wayne attended Seminole Jr. College then onto O.U. and continued college while working most of his life.
He also attended, TCU, San Diego State and San Jose State University.
Wayne did his best by honoring his wedding vows and cared deeply for people and animals.
Because Wayne’s brothers and cousins were his social group while growing up, his close friend Barry’s ability to meet and make new friends easily was a constant puzzle to him.
Wayne also participated in Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls with his children.
The icing on the cake for him were all of his grandchildren. He loved his family and they loved him!
He is survived by the love of his life, Deanna and their children: Linda Fuqua-Jones (Bill), Monument, Colo., Terry Wayne Fuqua (Cynthia) Phoenix, Ariz., Teresa Fuqua Roffe (Tony DeVincentes) Ben Lomond, Calif., grandchildren Ian W. Jones, Santa Cruz, Calif., Morgan D. Jones (Anne, son: MD Jr.) Addison, Tex., Tanya Fuqua-Abbas (Dustin, sons: Isaak Wayne Fuqua and Aden Aran Abbas) Phoenix, Ariz., Catrina Fuqua Carpenter (Christopher, children: Cassandra and Conner) Phoenix, Ariz., Serena Roffe-Marley (Ed, daughter: Anna Jean) Livermore, Calif. Garrett Roffe (Colleen) Aptos, Calif.
Wayne/Wire is survived by his family Wyatt Fuqua, Las Vegas, N.V., Anita Roberts Fuqua, Las Vegas, N.V., Willard (Cathy), Glendale Ariz., Lois Fuqua Dedman Oyler (Gene), Glendale, Ariz., brother-in-law Chuck "Butchie" Vincent (Bertha) nephews and their families Scott and Jack (Jenny) Houston Tex. area. Harvey Dedmon and Barry Pipkin were two of his very close friends along with many nieces and nephews and his companion, Reyna a 9 year old lab mix.
Wayne/Wire had wanted his service held at the First Methodist church on 2nd and Evans.
After the fire, he decided for a grave side service in the future when his wife joins him at Little Cemetery.
Several members of the family await his arrival. His father Robert Neal Fuqua (1997), Daryl (1969), Bob Lee (1995), Ronald "Rod" (2007), his son-in-law Ted Roffe (2005), his beloved mother, Tessie Mae Hall Fuqua Thomas lies in Glendale, AZ (1995). Wayne asked for the singing of "Amazing Grace" at his service. Think of him whenever you hear that song.

Margaret Lee
Margaret Mae Lee, longtime Seminole resident passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Cornerstone Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Margaret was born August 28, 1929 in Booneville, Arkansas to parents Dewey and Almedia (Ma) Quinalty. They moved to Seminole, Oklahoma a short time later where Margaret attended Seminole Public Schools.
Margaret married Rex H. Lee in Seminole, Oklahoma on July 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 23, 1991.
Margaret was a homemaker. She worked at Blue Bell (now Wrangler) for several years and then worked as a medicine technician at Pioneer Nursing Home and Seminole Estates Nursing Home until her retirement. Margaret loved to fish for the sandies with her husband and her children at Lake Eufaula. She loved her family very much, but most of all she loved the Lord, and put her faith and trust in Him. She attended Old Glory Assembly of God for many years. She especially loved to hear Preacher Cagle Graves preach the word and even got to hear her Grandson Chris Lee preach the word a few times before her health declined.
Margaret is survived by her two sons; Dewey and his wife Lawana Lee of Seminole, Oklahoma and Scott Lee of Norman, Oklahoma; her daughter Debra Seaba and her husband Mark of Jasper, Texas. Margaret is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex, two daughters, Nancy Jessen and Joyce Ann Lee, two sisters Elva Doshier and Imogene Riddle, and one brother J.D. Quinalty.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Little Cemetery with Pastor Chris Lee officiating.

John V. Lewis
Funeral services for John V. Lewis, longtime Seminole resident, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.
Lewis died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Seminole Care and Rehabilitation at the age of 86.
Joyce Porter
Joyce D. Porter 81, resident of Heritage Village Nursing Home in Holdenville passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Holdenville General Hospital.
Joyce was born October 1, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska to George E. Riha and Elizabeth Model Riha. Joyce moved to Illinois where she was married and had two children. A son, Everett and a daughter, Linda.
Joyce moved to Oklahoma and lived in Wewoka for several years. She married Ronnie Lee Porter in 1981. Joyce did domestic work for families before retiring.
She is survived by two step-sons, Yancy Don Porter of Macomb and Ronnie Lee Porter, Jr. of Wewoka and seven grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, George E and Elizabeth Model Riha, her son Everett and daughter Linda. Her husband, Ronnie Lee Porter and her step-daughter, Tonya Porter Craig.
James Adams
James Autry Adams Jr. was born June 10, 1939 in Tyler, Tex. to the late James Adams Sr. and Rebecca Adams.
He passed away Monday, Jan. 5th, 2015 in Holdenville, Okla. at the age of 75 years.
Survivors include his wife Catherine Adams of Sasakwa, OK; children David Adams, Anita Adams, Donna Adams Chester, Debra Adams Gallion, son Michael James Adams; three brothers Dale Cosby, Buddy Gayle Cosby, Gary Paul; one sister Dorothy Sokoloski. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding James in death are his parents.
James was a retired farmer and rancher, and former owner of Adams and Sons Trucking.
He served four years with the US Navy on the USS Vesuvius, AE 15 and was a member of the American Legion.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Jarvis, David Chester, Aaron Gallion, Specialist James McQuillan, Christian Adams, and Matthews Adams.
Memorial service will be 3;30 Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Willard Davis officiating.
