ADA — Services for Bernadean Hutchings, 77, Ada, are 10 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Randall Christy officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Hutchings died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 25, 1927, at Red Fork, to Fred E. and Eula May Baldwin Keatley. She lived in the Ada area most of her life. She attended schools in Ada and Hayward High School in Hayward, Calif.

She married Albert “Al” Donly Hutchings March 11, 1944, in Ada. He died July 11, 1991, at Ada. She and her husband owned and operated the Hamburger King, Al’s Drive-Inn, Al’s Truck Stop, Al’s Trails and Al’s Beep & Buy.

Mrs. Hutchings was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Brent Hutchings in 1994, and Fred Hutchings in 2001, and a grandson, Albert Hutchings, II in 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Sloan and Carli Adams, both of Ada; a brother, Fred C. Keatley, Ada; a sister, Evelyn Burge, Ada; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Bearers are J. L. Rhoads, Mark Walls, Kyle Walls, Jim Jackson, Allen Dean Jackson, Keith Walls, Mike Huddleston and Kevin Walls.

BROKEN BOW — Services for Ruby Lee Hooker James, 93, Broken Bow, are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. James died July 15, 2005, at a Broken Bow nursing home. She was born July 22, 1911, near Idabel, to William M. Jones and Susie White Jones. She lived her entire life in McCurtain County and attended school at Broken Bow. She married William Verdo Hooker Sr., Jan. 31, 1933. He died Dec. 24, 1944. She married Bill James in 1950. He died in 1960. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow.

She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas, in 1975; her parents; five brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandson.

Survivors include two sons, William Verdo Hooker Jr. and wife Lorraine, Ada, and Harold H. Hooker and wife Lavita, Longview, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Margie Hooker Moore, Wynnewood; six grandchildren, Vicki Cearnal, Dallas, Texas, Bruce Hooker, Olympia, Wash., Greg Hooker, Everett, Wash., Dee Ann Haworth, Bokchito, Cheryl Bell and Bridget Cosby, both of Ada; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

ADA — Memorial services for Edwina F. Miner, 85, Ada, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Chapel, the Rev. David Gray officiating.

Mrs. Miner died July 16, 2005, at her home. She was born May 8, 1920, at Kiowa, to Franklin Monroe Frazier and Maud Graham Frazier. She attended school at Greenville, Texas and Bokchito, and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1937. She attended Draughon’s School of Business, Shawnee. She came to Ada about 1940 to attend East Central University, where she worked at the dean’s office. Later she was administrative assistant in two departments at the University of New Mexico. After retiring, she moved back to Ada where she was a caregiver.

She was a longtime active member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Hilary Frazier, Laredo, Texas; one son, Randel Miner, Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren, Arielle Frazier, Jeremy Miner, both of Seattle, Wash., and Ben Miner and wife Mistye, Carrollton, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Zoey Miner; one sister, Wanda Thornton, Shawnee; and dear friend and caregiver, Martha Dunham, Ada.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to Ada Hospice Foundation, 1306 Arlington, Ada, OK 74820.

ADA — Services for Edmond Robert Tiger Jr., 52, Ada, are 2 p.m. Sunday, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Wewoka, the Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. Burial follows at High Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Sunday until service time at the Sand Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Tiger died July 14, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born July 21, 1952, at Fairbanks, Alaska, to Edmond Tiger Sr. and Mable Parnacher Tiger. He lived in the Ada area all his life and graduated from Byng High School in 1970. He received a bachelor’s degree from Okmulgee Tech in lithography.

He married Jean Harjo July 17, 1998. Mr. Tiger was a printer and a member of the Ada First Indian Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Zachary Vincent Tiger, March 16, 1981; and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Tiger, of the home; four sons, Jason Tiger, Jonathan Alexander, both of Ada, Narcisse Alexander, Ardmore, and Randall Alexander, Lawton; three grandchildren, Jaron, Jaden and Tariah; two brothers, Glenn Edward Tiger, Grand Prairie, Texas, and John David Tiger, Healdton; and four sisters, Theresa Tiger, Yukon, Rhonda Tiger, Ada, Resenda Lopez and Linda Solis, both of Oklahoma City. Bearers will be Howard Baker, Jr., John Fields, Allen Fields, Mark McCurtain, Hershell Wise, and Erwin Holatta.
