Arlene Boyanton

Arlene Boyanton, long time Seminole county resident passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at her home.

She moved to the Seminole area from Oklahoma City, 30 years ago.

Arlene was born Oct. 8, 1949 in Hobart, Okla. to parents, Claude Dixon Cox and Stella (Web) Brehm.

She married Ronald Boyanton, April 10, 1970 in Yukon, Okla.

Ronald preceded her in death Dec. 28, 2001.

Arlene was a homemaker who loved her family.

She is survived by two sons; Brian Boyanton, of Seminole, Okla., Joshua Boyanton, of McAlester, Okla.; three daughters, Angelica Griffin of Seminole, Okla., Ronda Vanover of Yukon, Okla. and step-daughter, Michelle McDonald of Seminole, Okla.; two brothers, Ernest Brehm and Greg Brehm both of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Charlene Trammel of Norman, Okla., Mary Masopust of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel of Seminole, Okla. with Chaplain Mark Hennen officiating.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Michael McDonald, Jim McDonald, Josh Boyanton, Brian Boyanton, Harold Trammel and Kevin Griffin.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Okla.

Opal Brazell

Opal Jean (Williams) Brazell, age 65, a resident of Meeker, Oklahoma and a former resident of Konawa, Okla., passed away on January 29, 2015 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South in Oklahoma City.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Mammoth Baptist Church located on Hwy 177 in Meeker.

Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Oklahoma.

Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.

Opal was born on August 21, 1949 in Lindsey, Okla. to James Lewis Williams and Dorthy (Samples) Williams. She married Monte Brazell on April 21, 1991 in Miami, Okla. She worked as a grocery store clerk and loved to spend time with her family and friends and to go fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Monte Brazell of the home; two sons, Anthony Cooper of Miami, Okla, and Timothy Bunch of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Annette Botero of Yukon, Okla. and Misty Bullard of Grove, Okla.; one brother, Tommy Williams of Meeker, Okla.; three sisters, Shirley Jones of Meeker, Oklahoma, Dorthy Wade of Meeker, Okla., and Inetha Waters of Konawa, Okla.; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorthy Williams, and one brother, Raymond Lewis Williams.

Bedford Brewer

Bedford T. Brewer, 77, lifelong Seminole County resident, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at his home in Bowlegs, Okla.

Bedford was born July 11, 1937 in Friendship, Okla., which was in Southern Seminole County, to Iva (Knight) and Eugene J. Brewer.

Bedford grew up in the Bowlegs area and attended Bowlegs Public Schools and graduated from Bowlegs High School, he was a member of the Bowlegs Baptist Church, past member of the Bowlegs School Board and Bowlegs-Lima Water District Board.

Bedford was owner of Brewer Construction Company, and enjoyed being a tour guide with his Good Neighbor Tours.

Bedford also owned and operated Brewer carpet and flooring company several years ago.

Bedford served in the U.S. Army in the early 1960’s stationed in Columbia, S.C.

Bedford married Karen White Brewer on May 12, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Bowlegs, Okla.

Bedford is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Brewer of the home in Bowlegs, two sons Larry David Brewer of the home and Michael Kevin Brewer and his wife Merry Kay of Piedmont, Okla., two sisters Bobbie Reynolds of Denver, Colo. and Eunice Morgan of Seminole, Okla.; three grandchildren Tyler Holloway Brewer, Parker Samuel Brewer, and Jordyn Grace Brewer.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Eldon White and his wife Carol of Lake Jackson, Tex. as well as several very special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill Brewer, sisters, Laura Cooper, Trola Quattlebaum, Marie Sisk and Pat Sims Ervin and a grandson Dylan Conner Brewer.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Guy Tucker, Barry Tucker, Jimmy Howard, Steve Kinsey, James Dye, Marvin Botsford, Kevin Savage and Leon Collier. Honorary bearers will be Gary Snow, Randy Allison, Lee Pippin and Kenneth Mendenhall.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.

Ruben Brewer

"R.C." Ruben Carlton Brewer, age 91 a former resident of Konawa, Okla., passed away at his home in Calvin, Oklahoma under the care of Heartland Hospice of McAlester and surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Lonnie Palmer will officiate.

Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery, and pallbearers will be R.C.’s great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons.

R.C. was born on Nov.17, 1923 in Konawa, Oklahoma to William Homer Brewer and Ocie E. (Moore) Brewer.

He attended the 7th and 8th grades at Summer Chapel school.

He worked in CC Camp in Oklahoma and in New Mexico. R.C. worked in the shipyard in California during WWII where he met and married his first wife, Hazel Janette Davidson. R.C. was also a pumper and foreman for Bradley Producers and for Consolidated Oil and Gas.

Hazel preceded him in death, and he later met and married Dorothy (Tollett) England in Ada, Oklahoma on Jan. 17, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brewer of the home; two sons, Ruben L. Brewer and wife, Sharron of Maud, Okla., and Roger Brewer and wife, Jeanie of Konawa, Okla.; one daughter, Pauline Greenwood and husband, Sam of Byars, Okla.; one brother, Frank Brewer of Maud, Oklahoma; two sisters, Dorothy Mullins of Ada, Okla., and Lorene Cole of Shawnee, Okla.; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ocie Brewer; first wife, Hazel J. (Davidson) Brewer; one son, Rethel Homer Brewer; three sisters, Laura Marie Downey, Mary Mosley, and Ellen Eberle; and two brothers, W.H. Brewer and Ben Brewer.

Sharon Brock

Sharon Jean (Roberts) Brock, 59 year old, longtime Seminole, Okla. resident passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at her home in Seminole surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born May 13, 1955 in Pampa, Texas to parents Ethel (Etheridge) Roberts and James Roberts.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at the Little Cemetery Chapel located in Little Cemetery.

Sharon Brock

Sharon Jean (Roberts) Brock, 59 year old, longtime Seminole, Okla. resident passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at her home in Seminole surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was born May 13, 1955 in Pampa, Tex. to parents Ethel (Etheridge) Roberts and James Roberts.

Sharon was a homemaker, and she was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Leslie Dean "L.D." Brock of Oklahoma City, Jerry Brock of Seminole, Okla.; one brother, Jerry Roberts of Tuttle, Okla.; one sister, Mary Jackson of Tuttle, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and James Roberts, by one daughter, Christie Grensburg, by one sister, Vesta Schumacher, and by three brothers, John Roberts, Dean Roberts and Leslie Roberts.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at the Little Cemetery Chapel located in Little Cemetery.

Pastor Bruce Benson will officiate the service.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Juanita Brown

Juanita Marie "Tea" Brown left her earthly home for her heavenly home Monday Jan. 12, 2015 in Holdenville, Okla. at the age of 92 years.

Born to the late Willis Hunter and Bashie Mae Thompson on Aug. 25, 1922, in Wewoka, Okla., she was a graduate of Douglas High School and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, husband Johnnie "Mack" Brown Sr., daughter; Annie Brown, and infant son Johnnie Brown Jr.

Survivors include children Lottie Willis of Oklahoma City, Carzell Brown, Wewoka, Okla., and Linda Brown of Wewoka; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church, with Rev. Lee Benson and burial at Westwood Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Brown, Billy G. Brown Jr., Maurice Brown, Marcus Brown, Jermaine Weaver, and Jamerle Brown.

Larry Brown

Larry Don Brown, longtime Seminole resident, left the world to be with his Lord on March 11, 2015 in Seminole at the age of 66.

He was born Oct. 8, 1948 in Borger, Tex. to Jasper and Jewel (McDonald) Brown.

Larry graduated from Seminole High School in 1967.

On April 20, 1967, Larry enlisted in the US Army and received an honorable discharge on Oct. 29, 1974.

He married LaDonna G. May on May 17, 1968 and to this union three children were born, Kevin, Crystal and Michelle.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kevin Brown; daughter, Crystal Kanard; and one sister, Patsy Carter.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Michelle Blair and her husband Jason; grandsons, Kevin and Zack Blair, all of Jackson, WY; grandchildren Fiona Kanard and Michael Kanard of Wewoka; special brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Mary Brawdy of Seminole and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bowlegs with Pastor Andy Quinton officiating.

Services are under the direction of OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.

Larry Brown

Larry Don Brown, longtime Seminole resident, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Integris Seminole Medical Center at the age of 66.

Services are pending with OK Cremation and Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.

Violet Brown

Violet Lusty Brown age 93, of San Saba, Texas passed away April 11, 2015 in San Angelo, Tex.

Violet was born May 24, 1921 in Bowlegs, Okla., to Lawrence and Rosie King Harris.

She was a member of San Saba’s First Baptist Church. She loved gospel and country music and dancing.

Violet is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins and lots and lots of friends.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Alvy "Judge" Lusty and second husband, Otis Mack Brown.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at San Saba’s First Baptist Violet Lusty Brown Church with Brother Alvino Valdez officiating.

Interment will follow at Wallace Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.
