Marion Henry

Marion Streetman Henry, 77, Oklahoma City resident, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015. Marion, a former longtime Seminole, Okla. resident, was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Oklahoma City to Mildred (Akin) and Frank Streetman.

Marion lived in, Seminole, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma during her lifetime.

She attended Sasakwa Public Schools in Sasawka, Okla. and Seminole High School, where she graduated in 1956.

She remained friends with many of her high school classmates, throughout the years and visited often and traveled with them.

Marion was currently a member of the Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and formerly First Baptist Church in Seminole, where she was active and sang in the choir at each.

Marion worked for Canadian Valley Electric Coop in Seminole for many years.

Most of her life she was a homemaker, taking care of her family.

She spent many hours cooking and baking and loved to have family over to cook some of her specialties, such as fried chicken and spaghetti.

She loved watching and going to Seminole High School and Oklahoma University football games, being with children, and especially those of her family, and was a loving mother, sister and grandmother.

Marion is survived by her husband, Wilburn Henry, Sr. of Oklahoma City, two sons, Rick Withrow and his wife Devona of Seminole, Okla. and Scott Ridgeway and his wife Kathy of Gunnison, Colo.; two step children, Gloria Crawford of Seminole, Okla. and Wilburn Henry, Jr. of Oklahoma City, brother Mark Streetman and his wife Pamela of Norman, Okla. her sisters, Phoebe Wetzel and her husband Jim of Edmond, Okla. and Susan Jordan and her husband Claude of Shawnee, Okla.; three brothers in-law, Jon Withrow of Norman, Okla. and Phil Withrow of Okla. City, Okla., Jay Henry and his wife Margaret of Okla. City, Okla. and her sister-in-law, Janie Davis of Shawnee, Okla.; six grandchildren, Nicole Cummings, Madi Withrow, Alexis Tigrett, Miller Ridgeway, Rachel Johnson, and Cullen Jett; nieces and nephews, Katie McElvaney, Emily Streetman, Roxie Hogg, Michael Wetzel, John Jordan and David Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mildred Streetman, and her first husband, Gerry Withrow.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb.y 25, 2015, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Streetman and David Jordan officiating.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Michael Wetzel, John Jordan, David Jordan, Miller Ridgeway, Jim Wetzel and Claude Jordan.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.

Marion Henry

Marion A. (Streetman-Withrow) Henry, 77, Oklahoma City resident who was a longtime former Seminole resident died, Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 in Oklahoma City.

Funeral Services are pending with Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Robert Hensley

Robert Eugene Hensley, longtime Wewoka resident, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18th, 2015 in Holdenville, Okla., at the age of 89 years.

Robert E. was born April 22, 1925 in Okmulgee, Okla. to Beula (Gill) and George Washington Hensley.

In the early 1930's the Hensley Family moved south of Wewoka.

Robert attended Justice School until the 8th grade.

After his junior year in high school, he was drafted into the Army on Aug. 27, 1943 at Ft. Sill, Okla.

Robert was in the field artillery, Blln. Pine Tree Division, Power River 155.

He was in the Italian Campaign during World War II, walking nearly 700 miles earning 3 bronze stars and World War II Victory Medal.

Robert was discharged from service in 1945 and returned to graduate from Wewoka High School in 1946.

On June 1, 1947, Robert married Wanda Lee Cook at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Wewoka, Okla.

Robert worked as parts manager at the Malloy-Doyle Ford Garage in Wewoka and later at Perry Ford in Holdenville before operating Bob's Village Market for nearly 20 years.

He was a Wewoka School Board Member for several years and a member of the VFW Post 1311.

He was an avid fisherman and always had a good fishing story to tell.

He loved to play dominoes, garden and spend time with his family.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory by his wife of 67 years, Wanda Lee Hensley of the home; son Tommy and wife Pam Hensley of Wewoka; daughter Terry and husband Mike Clemmer of Seminole.

He is also survived by his grandson Robert Lee Clemmer of Seminole, Okla.: sister-in law Eunice Hensley of Hominy, Okla.: brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws James and Willie Cook of Aurora, KS: Hilda and Bill Schmidt of Cincinnati, Ohio: Glenn and Lucy Cook of Wewoka, Okla.: Doyle and Pat Cook of Wewoka, Okla.: Shirley and Preston Clark of Cleveland, Okla.: step-grandchildren Michael Clemmer, Amy Holland, Angela Rush of Stratford, Okla.; six step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents: brothers George Jr., Noble, Bill, and Lin Hensley; sisters Shirley Barbre Tucker and Juanita Summers; nephews Jimmy, Ricky, and Larry Hensley; and nephew Mike Barbre.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heritage Village Nursing Center in Holdenville, Okla. for their compassionate care of Robert.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka, Okla.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Weston, Kenneth Johnson, Mike Thomas, Mark Hensley, and Nick Hensley.

Robert was a very proud World War II Veteran. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Military Room at Seminole Nation Museum, PO Box 1532, Wewoka, OK. 74884.

Arrangements will be by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Daniel Herriman

Daniel Herriman, age 77 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Okla. passed away at his home on April 16, 2015 surrounded by his family under the loving care of Faith Hospice.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.

Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Rev. Ed Bray, Pastor of Cross Timbers Church of Konawa will officiate.

Pallbearers are Dave Herriman, John Davis, Jacob Calhoun, Danny Herriman, Jeremy Herriman, Dusty Herriman, Justin Boissenin, and Ernie Herriman.

Dan was born on Feb. 2, 1938 in Asher to Dave Herriman and Josie (Davis) Herriman.

Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and he worked as a mechanic for Seminole County.

He was also a member of Cross Timbers Church of Konawa.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, one son, Danny Herriman of Konawa; two daughters, Janet Bate of Harrah, Okla. and Susie Yott of Konawa; sixteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Josie Herriman; two daughters, Pam Whaler and Josie Herriman; one son, James Herriman; and three brothers, Ernie, Euel, and Darrel Herriman; and four sisters, Florence Yott, Gracie Foran, Ida Ewing, and Opal Jolley.

Ella Hickerson

Ella was born January 7, 1929 in Washita County near Cloud Chief, Okla., to Dave and Nancy (Self) Eskew, and passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015.

She graduated from Lake Valley High School, and married Robert O’Neal Hickerson Oct. 9, 1949 in Gotebo, Okla.

Her greatest love was in taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ella is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert O. Hickerson; three children, Roberta Bender, Lind Plummer and husband, Maurice II, Robert O. Hickerson II; one brother, Royce Eskew; eight grandchildren, Paula Marriott, Ryan Pierce, Terri Smith, Brenda Pace, Maurice Plummer, III, Kristi Powell, Robert Scott Hickerson, and Alexander Hickerson; 18 great-grandchildren, Joshua Marriott, William Pierce, Kaylee Pierce, Tashianna Watts, Macava and Princella Smith, Kendra and Kylie Pace, Darrin, Jayla, Mackenzie and Addison Plummer, Chase, Logan, and Paige Powell, Robert Eli and Brooklyn Hickerson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; and one sone-in-law.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at Sharon Cemetery, Gotebo, Okla.

Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel Moore, Okla.

Robert Hines

Robert Ellery Hines, 74 year old, Pauls Valley, Okla. resident passed from this life on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He was born March 31, 1940 in Seminole, Okla. to parents, James Leslie Hines and Stella Mae (Standerfer) Hines.

Ellery attended Bowlegs Schools before he joined the United States Army.

Following his Honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1962, he married, Mildred Zunk on March 27, 1965 in Dickinson, Texas.

Ellery worked for Cox Construction and later for the Worley Trailer Moving Service.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, he also loved attending turkey shoots, collecting guns, knives, and many other things.

Ellery loved spending time at his son, George’s ranch with all of the animals.

Survivors include two sons, George Hines and his wife Rosemary of Pauls Valley, Okla, James Hines of Dickinson, Tex.; four daughters, Stella Drewing and her husband Danny of Bacliff, Tex., Patricia Keith and her husband Charlie of Seabrook, Tex., Tammy Hines of Alvin, Texas and Jackie Sciascia and her husband Donnie of League City, Tex.; his former wife and the mother of his children, Mildred Zunk of Dickinson, Texas; one sister-in-law, Carol Hines of Seminole, Okla.; 13 beloved grandchildren, one great-grandson, Hunter Wayne; and by a host of other family and dear friends.

Ellery was preceded in death by his father, James Leslie Hines; by his mother, Stella Mae (Standerfer) Hines; by sister, Virginia Patrick and her husband Alfred; by brothers, James Hines and his wife Faye, Clarence Hines and his wife Hilda, Roy Hines and his wife Maxine, and Earl Hines.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Okla. with Military Honors. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery with Steve Choate of The Church of Latter-Day Saints officiating the service.

Casket Bearers will be: Leslie Hines, Jeff Hines, Brittany Clement, Jacob Castille, Robert Carrigan and Matt Hines.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.

Mary Honsinger

No public services will be held for Mary Ruth Dawson, 78, of Chickasha.

Mary Ruth Honsinger was born on October 24, 1936 in Seminole, Okla., the daughter of Ray and Goldie (Saxon) Honsinger.

Mary lived in Chickasha until her death, Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.

Mary grew up and attended school in Seminole but later moved with her sister and brother-in-law, Margret and Earl Orr, to Midland, Tex., and graduated from Midland High school.

There she met the love of her life, John Dawson.

They were married at The Chapel by the Courthouse in Juarez, Mexico in Nov. 1955.

They renewed their vows on May 21, 1966 in Las Vegas.

Throughout their 35 years of marriage, John and Mary were successful in many personal and business ventures.

John passed away in 1990 Mary continued to run a successful printing business in California until her retirement in 1993.

Mary moved to Oklahoma in 2000 to be near her family and to help her brother-in-law, Earl Orr, care for her sister, Margret.

She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and working puzzles in her spare time.

She had over 1, 000 puzzles and had put each one together.

Mary also donated lots of toys to kids’ organizations.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Dawson; her parents, Ray and Goldie Honsinger; three brothers, Bob, Lee Edward and Richard Honsinger; and two sisters, Patricia Crummert and Margret Orr.

She is survived by three sisters; Roberta Phelps of Seminole, JoAnn Julian of Seminole and Connie Jeffrey of Eufaula; brother-in-law, Earl Orr of Chickasha plus numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. We will miss Mary.

Mary's wishes were to be cremated.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
