Stella May Lena, 90, longtime Seminole resident died, Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at her home in Seminole.
Stella was born June 15, 1924 in Eufaula, Okla. to Rhoda (Cato) and Toney Barnett.
She had lived in Seminole since 1959.
Stella was a homemaker most of her life, but during World War II she was a "Rosie the Riveter" at Douglas Aircraft in Calif.
She was a member of Indian Nation Baptist Church in Seminole, Okla.
Stella is survived by five sons; Louis Lena of Oklahoma City.
Lawrence "Dinka " Lena of Oklahoma City, Okla., Walter Leon Lena of Phoenix, Ariz., Benny Lena of Shawnee, Okla. and Mark Lena of Seminole, Okla.; three daughters Shirley McBride of Muskogee, Okla., Linda Lou Lena of Wewoka, Okla. and Kahleetah Williams of Seminole, Okla.; twenty-nine grandchildren and fifty-eight great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday Jan. 23, 2015 at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Southwest of Wewoka, Okla., with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. John Wayne Tulsa, officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Okla.
There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m., Thursday evening at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church.
Casket bearers will be Phillip " Bugz" Barnoski, Ricky "Bum" Barnoski, Johnathan Barnoski, Lance Barnoski, Bradley Barnett, Mark Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Butch Yargee, Wayne Pebworth, Captain Smith, Chris Factor and Chiefy Butler, Quan D. Ngo and Tam D. Ngo.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.
Nancy Lindbeck
Nancy (Newman) Lindbeck, age 58 and a resident of Konawa, Okla. passed away on Thursday, Feb., 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Okla.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12th at Cross Timbers Church of Konawa.
Pastor Ed Bray will officiate.
Nancy was born on Nov. 3, 1957 in Minnesota to John and Elizebeth Newman.
Nancy lived in Konawa for the last ten years of her life.
She loved cooking, doing craftwork, and watching sports, especially college and NFL football.
She will be missed by the friends that she made in Konawa and by her family very much, and by Joseph Baker and Missy Smith.
She is survived by one daughter; Summer Newman, one brother, Gordon Newman; two sisters, Karen Hagburg and Pam Newman; and one grandchild, Chasmine Newman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James and David Newman.
Maydean Lovelady
Funeral Services for Maydean Lovelady were held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Okemah, Oklahoma.
Interment followed at the Weleetka Cemetery in Weleetka, Okla.
Maydean Lovelady, former resident of Okemah, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, SC.
She was 95 years young. Maydean was born in Weleetka, Okla., on July 6, 1919 to the late Nevada and Lula Belle Rappe
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Wayne Lovelady.
Her sisters Myra Cleaver, Mary Baker, Jewel Ellison, Ada Bacon, Opal New, Lillian Dennis; brothers Carl Rappe, Roy Rappe and Nevada Rappe, Jr.
Her beloved grandsons Lon Wayne Goodspeed and Dane Tolson.
Survivors are her four children; Alleene (Curtis) Holland of Columbia, SC; Brenda Goodspeed, Norman, Okla., Stanton Lovelady, San Francisco, Calif., and Jeanie Lovelady, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Cheryl (Doug Quackenbush)Holland, Kyle(Wendy) Holland, Lori(John) Eikel, David (Julie) Goodspeed, Chanel(Sebastian) Katic. Eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law Helen Rappe, Oklahoma City and Norma Rappe, Okemah.
After moving to Seminole, she made many new friends including the sister of Woody Guthrie.
She and Mary Jo traveled all over Oklahoma visiting schools to educate children about the legacy of Woody.
She loved her time as a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole.
Her freezer was always full of cakes, pies and casseroles to take to anyone in need of a beautiful smile and a HUG!
Serving as active pallbearers were DeLoss McGraw, Kutter Goodspeed, John Eikel, Tyler Ford, Lance Warn, Nick Lambeth and Justin Eikel.
Honorary bearers included Curtis Holland, Kyle Holland, David Goodspeed and Joe Baker.
Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Lawrence Matlock.
Hazel Lusty

She died on Thursday, March 26, 2015, in Yukon, Okla.
Hazel Lusty

In a twinkle of an eye, Hazel Coker Lusty, age 100 years, went to her Lord and Savior, Thursday, March 26, 2015.
She was born Feb. 6, 1915 to David Coker and Selina Micco Coker at the old David Coker home place.
She attended grade school at Mekusukey Boarding School and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, 1934, in 3 years.
Her graduation was delayed due to staying home to help her Mother raise two younger brothers, David and George.
Hazel married Elmer Lusty, Oct. 31, 1935, deceased, 1984.
She is survived by sons Robert of Holdenville, Okla., Leon and Gail of Newalla, Okla., David and Nell of Yukon, Okla, daughter Blanche Huneycutt of Port Orange, Fla, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great children.
She was baptized Oct. 10, 1937, by Rev Bill Coker and became a member of Mekusukey Baptist.
She moved her membership to Spring Baptist Church July 8, 1959, where she served as a Women's Leader, Creek Bible Study, Leader, WMU Director and various church positions.
She lived a very diversified life by being involved in church work, as a Rosie Riveter during WWII she welded WWII Victory Ships, she owned a business and was a Court Interpreter for some Seminole clients.
She was an encourager, prayerful humble mother that prayed David and Nell to Jesus and into their nursing home ministry.
Loretta Marley
Loretta Jane (Morrel) Marley, 79, of Seminole, Okla. left to be with the Lord on Monday, April 6, 2015 at her home.
Loretta was born on Oct. 6, 1935 at the old Macomb Wye "Y".
She was the 4th daughter of Reece "Van" and Lillian "Lil" (Adkins) Morrel.
Her life began with her weighing in at 1 ˝ lbs, and her Grannie Jane saved her by putting her in a shoe box and placing her on the oven door of an old wood cook stove.
In 1941 the family moved to Bakersfield, Calif. where she started to school.
In 1943, the family moved back to the old family home on Fairview Road and she went to Eagle School District 58 ˝.
She graduated from the 8th grade and attended Macomb School during her freshman year and finished school at Harjo.
After finishing school she worked as a waitress at the Grand Café and Modern Grill where she met her future husband on July 13, 1953.
She married Jerry Lee Marley, Jr. on Feb. 17, 1954 in Yuma, Ariz. and to this union 8 children were born.
They celebrated 52 years together before his death on September 9, 2006.
They traveled to different states before settling down in Seminole on July 30, 1980.
Loretta worked for Varnum Public Schools as a Kindergarten Teacher’s Aid for 17 ˝ years.
She enjoyed going to church with her husband and children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Marley, Jr.; one infant daughter; youngest son, Karry Marcus Marley; her Grannie Jane; parents, Van and Lil Morrel; three brothers, Reece, Tom and Billy Morrel; three sisters, LaVana Starrett, Cookie Spicer and Lilly Mae Prahm.
Those left to cherish her memory are 5 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Jerry Lee III and Kathy Marley of Cromwell, Okla., Larry Marley and Debra Love of Sallisaw, Okla.; Gary and Jackie Marley of Madera, Calif., Perry Dalton Marley of Sallisaw, Okla. and Terry and Donna Marley of Seminole, Okla.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sherry and Kevin Keeth of Depew, Okla. and Shelly and Gregg Comstock of Seminole, Okla.; two special former daughters-in-law, Nita Marley and Teresa Swofford; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy and Ray Kelly of Shawnee, Okla. and Dollie Peters of McLoud, Okla.; and numerous extended family and friends.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Ester Chastain, Donna Quinalty, April Morrison, Bob and Mary Williams, Dr. Chairandus of Heartland Hospice, Dr. Demera of Shawnee Medical Center and Dr. Click of Shawnee Family Physicians and Nurse, Jennifer Vaughan of Carter Health and Hospice.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 and from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 and continue through service time.
Family gathering will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Cooper Funeral Home.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Larry Marley.
Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
James Martin
James David Martin, longtime Seminole county resident, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 in Sulphur, Okla. at the age of 73.
David was born Nov. 26, 1941 in Maud, Okla. to parents, Lois Graden Martin and Eleanor (McCullough) Martin.
David joined the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War.
After his military service he worked as an oilfield roustabout.
He also was a member of the Assembly of God Church where he loved to sing Christian songs and play his guitar.
David is survived by two daughters, Lisa Danell Martin of Norman, Okla., Jacquline "Jackie" Leeanne Allen of Seminole, Okla.; five brothers, John Paul Martin and his wife Aaroneta of Greenville, Tex., L.G. Martin, Jr. and his wife Julie of Maud, Okla., Lawerence Wesley and his wife Joyce of Sasakwa, Okla., Lemuel Timothy Martin and his wife Linda of Maud, Okla. and Luther Carlus Martin of Maud, Okla.; two sisters, Rebecca Lou Duncan of Sulphur, Okla., Cindy Kay Robertson and her husband Ronnie of Seminole, Okla.; three grandchildren, Ravonda Lilly, Rachael Allen, Sarah Ruth; four great grandchildren, Noah Ruth, Jacob Allen, Vanessa Lilly and Caleb Ruth.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Graden and Eleanor Martin; brother, Daniel Leon Martin; two sisters, Frieda Lee Martin, Billie Sue Curtis; grandparents, Carlus Cleveland, Hettie Angelene Martin, Luther McCullough and Pearl Robinson.
Funeral services with military honors will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with brothers, Rev. Wesley Martin and Rev. Tim Martin officiating.
Burial will take place at Cummings Cemetery, Maud, Oklahoma.
Serving as casket bearers are: Michael Martin, Levi Blackburn, Chris Lee, Rev. Dan Martin and David Coker.
