Darlene Robertson

Darlene (Johnston) Robertson, age 69 and a resident of Seminole, Okla., passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at her home.

Graveside services were scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Wolf Cemetery south of Seminole.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Pallbearers were Josh Pettit, Brittany Robertson, Tyanne Bogle, Kateland Kirkpatrick, Samantha Roney, Hunter Harjo, Ethan Caldwell, and Gideon Caldwell.

Darlene was born on Nov. 28, 1945 in Hugo, Okla. to Sam Johnston and Ellie (Gayler) Johnston.

She married Donald "Don" Wayne Robertson on April 10, 193 in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was a Thumber at Well’s Lamont in Hugo for several years, and a cross-country truck driver for thirty-two years until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Don Robertson of the home; one son, Donald Robertson and wife, Donna of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two daughters, Marlene Harjo and husband, John of Seminole and Shelia Self, also of Seminole; one brother, Loyd Johnston and Jimmi Stubblefield of Depew, Oklahoma; two sisters, Eunice Cockren of Soper, Okla. and Ester McDaniel of Decater, Texas; ten grandchildren, Josh Pettit, Brittany Robertson, Tyanne Bogle, Samantha Roney, Tate Caldwell, Kateland Kirkpatrick, Gideon Caldwell, Hunter Harjo, Shyla Harjo, and Tera Self; and eight great grandchildren, Peyton Kirkpatrick, Maddy Kirkpatrick, Lilly Kirkpatrick, Dagan Robertson, Xander Kirkpatrick, Jentri Robertson, Karter Kirkpatrick, and Branson Caldwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William Johnston, and one sister, Jackie Foster.

James Robertson

James "Arnold" Robertson, age 81 and a resident of Konawa, Okla. passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel of Konawa.

Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Rev. Jim McMillan, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Konawa will officiate.

Pallbearers are Nick Estes, Nathan Enns, Matt Stephens, Josh McGuire, Mark Robertson, and Keith Robertson.

Honorary pallbearers are Marvin Patterson, Bill Kennedy, Van Chew, and Bob Hatter.

Arnold was born on March 30, 1933 in Tupelo, Okla. to Alfred and Nettie (Goss) Robertson.

He graduated from Vamoosa High School in 1951 and received his Bachelor of Science from East Central University in Ada, Okla.

Arnold was an Educator of Industrial Arts in Science and Math.

He married Ruby Robertson on Dec. 20, 1952 at Vamoosa.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the fire direction control for the first atomic cannon in 1953 and 1954.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Konawa.

Arnold enjoyed fishing and woodworking, and he loved his granddaughters very much.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Ruby Robertson of the home; two sons, Les Robertson and wife, Shelley of Purcell, . wife, Sherita of Moore, Okla.; two brothers, Alfred Robertson, Jr. of Konawa, Okla., and Keith Robertson and wife, Yvonne of Okemah, Okla.; four sisters, Dean Wall of Harrah, Oklahoma, Laquita Huckleberry of Konawa, Okla., Billie Collins and husband, Lyle of Shawnee, Okla., and Jerry Lemmings and husband, Ronnie also of Konawa, Okla.; four granddaughters, Ashley Estes and husband, Nick, Riley Stephens and husband, Matt, Madison Robertson, and Jessica Robertson; and one great grandson, Connor Estes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nettie Robertson; and two brothers, Herman and Dick Robertson.

Bertha Romine

Bertha Lee Romine, 99, of Hoxie died Jan. 13, 2015, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center in Walnut Ridge.

She was born Dec. 25, 1915 in Tuckerman to Jessie and Deasy Berry Barker.

On June 4, 1932 she married Amos "Shankie" Romine in Newport.

She moved to Lawrence County in 1939, where she was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Ridge Assembly of God Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; son, James Romine; daughters, Marie George and Jane Harp Hullett; brothers, Jessie, Joe, and Clarence Barker; sisters, Merniva Thompson, Cilar Huskey, and I.V. Kollar; and grandson, Allen Romine.

Survivors include her sons, Bill (Wilma) Romine of Rockford, IL, Clarence (Kathy) Romine of Seminole, OK, Ed (Frankie) Romine of Hoxie; sisters, Sybel Barnham of Swifton, Julia Keedy of Cash, and Anna Jo Gale of GA; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday, January 15th from 6 to 8pm in the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 16th, at 10 a.m. in the Cox Chapel with Chaplain Lt. Col. Terry Romine officiating.

Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

Bertha’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Sherri Ross

Sherri Elaine Ross, age 53 and a former Seminole County resident, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Norman Regional Hospital.

A wake service was held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.

Rev. Bill Hobia and Rev. Bill Barnett will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Ross Family Cemetery in Seminole County.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Harjo, Joseph Harjo, Josh Lena, Aaron Lena, Garret Lena, Brian Spencer, Stephen Spencer, and Marshall Tiger.

Honorary pallbearers are James Sonny Williams, Roy Holata, Bobby Jack Spencer, Nathan Harjo, and Mel Lena.

Sherri was born on March 13, 1962 in Claremore, Okla. to Houston Ross and Maggie Jane (Harjo) Ross.

She graduated from Strother High School.

She was the Manager of "Po’Folks" and the manager of Shoneys.

She was also a daycare attendant and a resident attendant for Kirkpatrick Manor for Seniors.

Sherri also did volunteer work for Norman Regional Hospital.

She is survived by one sister, Patty Ross of Norman, Okla.; one aunt, Elsie Ross of Seminole, Okla.; cousins, Nowatha Cope, Sonny Williams, Roy Holata, Rosemary Holata, Jacqueline Harjo, Samuel Spencer, Eugenia Lena, and Mariam Spencer; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Maggie Ross; aunts, Pauline Williams and Nora Fife; and uncles James Fife, Amos Harjo, and Tony Harjo.

Dale Roubidoux

Dale Dominic Roubidoux, 49 year old, long time Shawnee, Okla. resident passed from this life Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, Okla.

He was born May 30, 1965 in Dalhart, Texas to parents, Joseph Mason Roubidoux and Lillian Barbara (McIntosh) Roubidoux.

Dale graduated from Arizona’s, "Phoenix Indian High School" in 1984.

He was baptized at St. John’s Catholic Church in Komatke, Arizona and is a current member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee.

Dale had worked in construction most of his life and had also worked as a grounds keeper at St. Gregory’s University in Shawnee.

Survivors include his mother Lillian Barbara (McIntosh) Roubidoux of Shawnee, Okla.; six brothers, Jonas Roubidoux of San Carlos, Ariz., Doyle Roubidoux of Shawnee, Okla., Noel Roubidoux of Albuquerque, N.M., Joel Roubidoux of Shawnee, Okla., Barney Bigman of Goodyear, Ariz., Rick Hoffman of Wash.; one sister, Margaret (Roubidoux) Bailey of Shawnee, Okla.; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Mason Roubidoux; two brothers, Paul Roubidoux and Neal Roubidoux.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Sac & Fox Nation Chapel in Stroud with Jonas C. Roubidoux officiating the service.

A Traditional Native American Ceremony will follow at the Sac & Fox Nation Cemetery with Darrell McElvany conducting the burial rites.

Pallbearers will be: Jonas Roubidoux, John Stoneroad, Chris Stoneroad, Anthony Roubidoux, Zachary Ibarra and Robert Roubidoux.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joel Roubidoux, Darrell McElvany and Richard Hoffman.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Okla.

Kenneth Sallee

Kenneth Gene Sallee, age 67 years of Wewoka, Okla. passed away at his home Wednesday, Jan. 14th, 2015. Born July 31, 1947 to the late Arthur Sallee and Imogene DeArmond Sallee.

Kenneth married Dana Marie Sneed, Dec. 7, 1965 in Wewoka, Okla., she precedes him in death Nov. 28, 2014.

Kenneth worked for Wewoka Police Department, Seminole County Sheriff Department and Wewoka Public School.

He was of the Baptist Faith. Kenneth enjoyed working on lawn mowers, watching the Three Stooges, but most of all he loved spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.

Preceding Kenneth in death are his parents, wife Dana, sisters JoAnn Dowdy, Patsy Johnson, Peggy Maylen and Karla Carroll.

Survivors include his children Kenneth G. Sallee II, of Midwest City, Timothy Bart Sallee of Midwest City, and Glynda Lippe of Wewoka; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; his brothers Bill Sallee, of Waldron, Ark., and David Salle of Columbia, Mo.: sisters Shirley Williams of Waldron, AR, Glenda Condict, Cromwell, Okla., Lucille Salle of Waldron, Ark., and Terri Dale Harrell, of Canute, Okla., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka with Pastor Dan Factor officiating.

Judge Sawyer

Judge Sawyer, age 80 years went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning March 14th, 2015 at his home in Wewoka, Okla.

He was born May 16, 1934 in Wewoka, Okla., to the late Harvey Brock Sawyer and Lillie Mae (Williams) Sawyer.

Judge married Velena (Lena) Jane Conger on Sept. 4, 1954 in Konawa, Okla., and to this union three children were born.

Judge worked 10 years for Cal and Herb Horn Texaco Station, then he owned and operated Sawyers DX Service Station for 3 years, and later worked at Thomas Electric company for 13 years.

Judge retired from Lobar Oil Company after 36 years and was on the USDA Board of Directors.

Judge enjoyed working on the farm and tending his cattle, most of all he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Judge was a member of Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding Judge in death are his parents, one sister Bertha Jones, five brothers Gene, Leroy, Hugh, Frank and Jack Sawyer, and daughter-in-law Paula Sawyer.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lena, children Jesse Sawyer, Wewoka, Okla., Teresa Loeffelholz and husband Joe of Alvord, Tex., Larry Sawyer, and wife Marsha of Wewoka.

Nine grandchildren Brandon Johnson, Tommy Sawyer, Justin Fleming, Christa Laughlin, Rex Powers, Chris Sawyer, Jessica Sawyer, Keith Sawyer, and Courtnei Sawyer; twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pall bearers will be: Justin Fleming, Rex Powers, Chris Sawyer, Keith Sawyer, Brandon Johnson and Tommy Sawyer.

Honorary pall bearers will be members of the Mission Home Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 18 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Wewoka with Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka, Okla. Pastor Matt Wyatt will officiate.
