Richard Irvin Teed
TEED, Richard Irvin - 71, of Sutherlin passed away Monday , November 27, 2000 at his home. He was born March 3, 1929 in Oakland, California to Erwin A. and Florence (Eurick) Teed. Mr. Teed worked for many years at a truck driver. On May 1, 1971 in Coos Bay, Oregon he married Myrtle "Sug" Tate. The Teed's owned and operated 3D Delivery Service. They had a contract with Bi-Mart to deliver medical supplies to area nursing and foster homes. Mr. Teed was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints Sutherlin Ward. Survivors include his wife Myrtle "Sug" Teed of Sutherlin; children Deborah Brugnoli and her husband Mike of Myrtle Point, Oregon Tina M. Rowland and her husband Gregory of Roseburg, Frank McNew and his wife Janet of Coos Bay, Oregon, Garren J. Teed and his wife Dawn of Sutherlin, Randolph C. Tate and his wife Clarisse of Boise, Idaho and Charles J. Tate and his wife Carrie of Glide, Oregon; sister Marianne Schulke of Astoria, Oregon, brother Elmer Hawkins; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Teed was preceded in death by a son William A. Tate and a brother Harry Hawkins. Memorial services will be held Saturday December 2, 2000 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Sutherlin Ward. Bishop Floyd Hunsacker presiding. Inurement will be in the Wimberly Cemetery in Glide, Oregon. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Mr. Teed's memory to Mercy Hospice 2700 Stewart Parkway, Roseburg. Mark Addison Worsley
WORSLEY, Mark Addison - 82, of Roseburg passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2000 in a local care home. He was born March 23, 1918 in Creston, Iowa. Mr. Worsley served in the US Army during WWII. On October 17, 1944 in Los Angeles, California he married Mary Angela Trenkle who survives. Mr. Worsley and his wife lived in the Roseburg area for the past 51 years. They were members of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Mary, of Roseburg; two sons, Fred J and his wife Iambie: and Dennis all of Roseburg. One brother, Joe R. Worsley and his wife Hazel, of Olympia, WA; and two grandchildren, Scott and Stephenie, both of Roseburg. Private inurement services will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. LONG AND SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.

Quentin Allen Karr
KARR, Quentin Allen - was born July 16, 1918 in Taer, Iowa, the son of Fred Allen and Sarah Llewellyn Karr. Quentin died November 1, 2000 at about 10:00 a.m. at his home in Riddle, Oregon. Quentin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nellie. He is also survived by his daughter, Sandra Moore of Vancouver, Washington, son, Fred Allen Karr and his wife Amanda of Everett, Washington, son, David Foland and his wife Berthina, also of Everett, Washington and daughter Ann Foland of Roseburg, Oregon. He is also survived by 2 1/2 grandchildren (Amanda is expecting) and 4 great grandchildren. Quentin moved with his parents from Iowa to Oregon in 1920. He was a pilot in the US Army Air Force during the Second World War. Quentin retired from the Seattle school district in 1981 where he was an engineer. Quentin and his wife have always been involved with children. Someone once said that they collected children. They had six foster children, all of whom were teenagers. They hosted 17 foreign exchange students. Quentin was the state co-ordinator for Open Door Exchange Students for many years. He was responsible for 100's of students over the years. They had their last student in 1991. Since then they have become involved with the CASA program of Douglas County. Quentin was a decent and honorable man who will be remembered globally. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Canyonville. Mountain View Memorial Chapel and Crematory at Myrtle Creek is serving the family.

Glenda Loye Curnow
CURNOW, Glenda Loye - 58, of Umpqua, OR passed away Sunday, October 15, 2000 in a Roseburg hospital following a gracious bout with cancer. She was born May 19, 1942 in Sacramento, CA to Loy and Jewell (Fletcher) Compton. Glenda grew up and attended school in the Sacramento area, graduating from San Juan High School in 1962. As an adult, she lived in San Rafel, CA several years before returning to Sacramento. In 1992, Glenda and Bill moved to Umpqua, OR. She dearly loved her home on the main Umpqua river. On September 6, 2000 her and Bill celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She was the beloved wife and best friend of C.W. "Bill" Curnow Jr.; the loving mother of Cheryl Lynn Smith-Burcham and Derek M. Smith; grandmother of Braxton Smith; also survived by two step-children, Kimber S. Blake and John W. Curnow; her loving sister and best buddy, Carla Jean Kline and her husband, Dennis; a niece, Shawna Hansen and her daughter, Kristie and her faithful companion, her Jack Russell terrier "Aimee". Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. in Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Officiating will be Father Robert Lonergan of the Church of The Ascension Episcopal in Riddle. Cremation rites will follow under the care of Chapel of the Roses Crematory. A viewing time is set for this evening (Tuesday) from 3 until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon at Chapel of the Roses. Iva I Rockwell
ROCKWELL, Iva I. - Age 75, of Myrtle Creek, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2000 at a local hospital. She was born May 24, 1925 in Gooding, Idaho, daughter of Gilbert and Mae (Lisle) Heath. She was raised and educated near Naches, Washington. Iva was united in marriage to Theodore R. Rockwell on August 15, 1945 in Coerd'Alene, Idaho. They lived in Washington and Idaho, but made their home in Oregon. She enjoyed collecting rocks and had a special talent for gardening. She used her ceativity to make a house into a home and saw beuaty in almost anything. Iva enjoyed widlife, especially birds, but mostly she loved her family and spent a lifetime earning their love and deep respect. Her husband was a W.W.II Marine veteran and she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Myrtle Creek. She is survived by a son, Ted Rockwell and his wife Virginia of Sutherlin, four daughters, Claudia Jones of Sutherlin, Kay Anderson and her husband Speede of Glide, Diana Krieg and her husband Jake of Portland and Ivy Turner of Roseburg. A Godchild, Lana Buel of Eugene. Three sisters, Dorothy Fuss of Naches, Washington., Ethel Freeman of Roseburg and June Alexander of Sherwood, Washington. Ten grandchildren, Connie, Debbie, Julie, Larry Jr., Travis, Carrie, Micky, Brandie, Tami and B.J. also twenty great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Her husband, Theodore, who passed away in 1994 preceded her in death. A son, Theodore Rockwell Jr., five sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at the Cedar Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, Novemebr 8, 2000 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Miller of the Glide Babtist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of TAYLORS FAMILY CHAPEL.

William "Bill" Arthur Kennebeck
KENNEBECK, William "Bill" Arthur - Age 62, of Sutherlin passed away on Monday, November 6, 2000 in a Roseburg hospital. He was born on December 19, 1937 in Astoria, Oregon to Pat and Esther (Cavette) Kennebeck. Bill graduated from Henley High School, Klamath Falls, Oregon and entered the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, Bill went to college and began his life as a civil servant. He was a social worker for many years and then he became a police officer for the Clackamas County Sheriff's office from which he retired in 1990 as a Captain. He moved to Sutherlin shortly there after. On December 18, 1999 in Canyonville he married Annabelle Franken. Survivors include his wife, Annabelle of Sutherlin, his parents Pat and Esther of Roseburg, three sisters: Deborah Bell, Pati Zimmerman and Vickie Scott all of Portland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held. Cremation rites have been held under the direction of WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.

Vessie Forrester
FORRESTER, Vessie - 95, of Roseburg, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2000 in a local care center. She was born on October 5, 1905, in Indian Territory, present day Buckhorn, Oklahoma to Peter Erasmus and Melcena (Gregory) Frantz. On February 19, 1927 in Ada, Oklahoma she married Harry W. Forrester, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1978. Mrs. Forrester was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great great grandmother who had lived in Roseburg since1990. She is survived by her son Harry Forrester and his wife Marie of Roseburg, a daughter Wanda Cardwell and her husband Harold also of Roseburg, a sister Olive Stevens of Lake Isabella, CA, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, Carmichael, CA. Bobbie Millage
MILLAGE, Bobbie - Passed away on Saturday morning, October 7th, 2000 in Roseburg, Oregon after an extended battle with cancer. Bobbie was born on September 16, 1951 in Riverside, California. His younger brother Brian Russell preceded him in death in 1993. Bobbie leaves behind a son, Justin Millage of Homer, Alaska, his mother Stella and four siblings, Michael, Steven, and Karen Millage, Kristy Fenton, a grandmother, and many relatives. Bobbie has been a long term resident of Alaska since 1961, and a graduate of West High School in Anchorage. He left to pursue education and work, in the electronics industry, in Phoenix, Arizona. After five years of employment with Rockford Corporation in Phoenix, he left to make his home in Sutherlin, Oregon in the fall of 1996. Bobbie was an accomplished musician and songwriter for many years. Bobbie leaves behind a multitude of friends, including many in the music industry. Bobbies mother and her husband, Stella and Raymond Medeiros will be holding a Memorial Service at their home in Roseburg, Oregon, Saturday October 14th from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please call 541-672-6395 for directions if needed. Joe Gray
GRAY, Joe - Age 80, of Roseburg passed away Monday October 9, 2000. He was born February 27, 1920 in Quail, Texas to Amos W. and Sarah Gray. Joe married Wilda Lucille Hicks in Clovis, New Mexico. They were married 55 1/2 years and together they raised 3 children. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific. The Gray's from New Mexico to Astoria, OR. in 1941 and to Roseburg in 1943. Joe worked for Young's Bay Lumber, Associated Plywood, Roseburg Lumber Company and Hub Lumber. Joe and Wilda owned Nebo Trailer Park for 17 years and Gray's Mobile Home Park until his death. Joe believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized on December 28, 1994 in Roseburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and most of all he loved being with his wife Wilda and doing things she liked to do. Survivors include his daughter Charlotte Munson; sons Gary W. Gray and his wife Brenda and Dave Gray and his wife Marilyn all of Roseburg; 7 grandchildren Jeff Munson, Michelle Bergmann, Jennifer Gray, Mike Gray, Jaime Gray, Chris Gray and Jay Ashley; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Wilda, parents Amos and Sarah and ten brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 12, 2000 at 11:00 am at Long & Shukle Memorial Chapel. Olivia Johnson
JOHNSON, Olivia - Age 100, of Roseburg passed away Monday October 9, 2000 in a local care center. She was born June 16, 1900 in Webster, South Dakota to Peder and Anna Marie (Forseth) Fiksdal. On October 30, 1920 in Millgart, South Dakota she married Oscar Johnson who preceded her in death on April 11, 1981. The Johnson's moved to Roseburg in the early 1970's. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Rebecca Lodge #41 and the Colfax Rebecca Lodge in Huron, South Dakota. Survivors include 2 daughters Donna Shanahan of Georgetown, Texas and Oriel Fromdahl of Roseburg: sister Wilma Devison of Coeur'd Alene, Idaho; brother Palmer Fiksdal of Watertown, South Dakota; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by a sister Agnes Sitzman. Funeral services will be held Friday October 13, 2000 in Faith Lutheran Church. Pastor Ray Vanghaus will officiate. Graveside services will follow within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Lee Wayne Moore
MOORE, Lee Wayne - Age 79, of Roseburg, Oregon went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 6, 2000 after a series of strokes. He was born May 14, 1921 near Englewood, Kansas on the Beck Ranch to Ellen Godfrey Moore and Henry Moore. Lee accepted Jesus Christ as his savior as a teenager and followed the Lord his entire life. Lee graduated from Englewood High School in 1940 as an "A" Student. Lee moved to California to work in the Defense department at ROHR Aircraft as a drophammer operator until 1943 then transferred to Solar Aircraft as a welder. He moved back to Dodge City Kansas and met Opal I. Frank, whom he married on September 16, 1952. He worked at Mayrath Farming Equipment until he was transferred to Monmouth, Illinois in 1959 as a shop foreman. He moved his family to Oregon in 1960. After living in Oregon City for about four years, he moved to Roseburg where he raised his three sons. He worked as a steelworker for Ramey Brothers/Cascade Corporation until 1983 and was a member of Local 7332 US Steelworkers Union. He then worked for Berger Manufacturing until 1987. He was also involved with many political issues and was a member of the Republican party. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, Oregon Citizens Alliance, Oregon Right to Life and Calvary Assembly of God. First and foremost in his life was his commitment to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, grandchildren and close friends. Lee enjoyed gardening, metal fabrication, fishing and hunting. Lee was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ellen Moore, his brother Gene and his wife of 35 years, Opal. He is survived by three sisters, Irene McCune of Dodge City, Kansas, Joyce Rich of Selina, Kansas and Helen Hartzfeld of Bronough, Missouri, his brother Arthur Moore of Roseburg, also survived by three sons Philip Moore of Roseburg, Paul Moore of Springfield, and Wesley Moore of Roseburg, his grandchildren Preston of Sutherlin and Stacy of Roseburg, and Stephanie and Andrew of Springfield, along with numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at Taylor's Family Mortuary in Winston, Oregon. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, October 13, at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God of Roseburg. Pastor Lyle Jordan will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Albert (Joshua) Brian Orrison
ORRISON, Albert (Joshua) Brian - Went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 5, 2000. He was born to Thomas Orrison Sr. and Teresa Orrison Comer in Myrtle Creek, Oregon on January 15, 1977. Joshua had numerous hobbies, but his favorite hobbies were his vehicles, hunting and fishing. He loved most everything to do with the outdoors. He was very special young man who touched the hearts of many people with his smile and personality and willingness to help anyone, at anytime. Surviors include his closets friend and mother Teresa Comer of Canyonville, Oregon, his father Thomas Orrison and his wife Darlena Orrison of Searcy, Arkansas. His step-father David Comer of Lincoln, Montana, his grandmothers, Liz Kurpies of McRae, Arkansas, Ruth Comer of Lincoln, Montana, great grandmother, Evelyn Mayborn of Roseburg, Oregon. Surviving brothers Billy Jo and wife Michelle Orrison of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, T.J. and Erin (Welch) Orrison of Winston, Oregon, Daniel Orrision of Billings, Montana, David and Michelle, Tony and Lauri Comer, and sister Shelly Comer and Donnie Peoples all of Winston, Oregon, sister Heather Orrison of Searcy, Arkansas. He is survived by two precious children, his daughter, Shayenne, son Kolby Orrison, and a precious step son, Sean Orrison, all of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, from Utah, California, Arkansas, Montana, and Oregon. Josh was preceded in death by his grandfather, Albert Brint, grandmother, Colleen (Brint) Daniels, grandfather, Chester Orrison, grandfather, Richard (Lucky) Comer, uncle John Brint, best friend Nathan Ruppert, niece Kayla Peoples and cousin Mary Brint. Memorial services for Josh will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. at the Dillard Church of God in Dillard, Oregon with Pastor Milford Brewster officiating.

James F. Reeves
REEVES, James F. - Passed away at his home October 6, 2000 in Winston, Oregon. He was born in Curran, Michigan on October 8, 1932. He moved to Oregon with his parents in 1945 where they settled in Winston. He faithfully served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired from the Air Force in 1974, returning to Winston. Jim continued his career selling real estate in the Roseburg area and later worked for Boeing in Washington. Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He always took advantage of opportunities to spend time with his children fishing and camping. He also enjoyed hunting, golf, working in the garden and spending time with his family. Jim had many interests and hobbies, including ceramics, photography, computers, Internet, radio controlled airplanes, archery, cooking and mechanics. He is survived by his wife Michi; daughter Janet; sons James, Frank and Bill; grandsons; Jasen and Mike and granddaughters; Julia and Jacqueline. He was preceded by his parents Glen and Harriet, and his brother Victor. Private family services will be held at Roseburg Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by the V.F.W. District #12 Honor Guard. Arrangements have been entrusted to TAYLOR'S FAMILY MORTUARY.

Vicki Jo Rider
RIDER, Vicki Jo - Age 45, of Culp Creek, Oregon passed away Friday, October 6, 2000 due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born December 22, 1954 in Wauseon, Ohio to parents Lester and Mildred (Piddock) Schooner. On August 15, 1990 she was united in marriage to Dan Rider in Hesperia, CA. Vicki enjoyed arts & crafts, fishing and rock collecting. She is survived by her husband Dan Rider Sr., of Culp Creek, OR., son's Mike Fry of Las Vegas, Nev. and Dan Rider Jr. of Hesperia, CA., daughter and son-in-law Malisa and Steeve Yarbrough of Sutherlin, OR., and two grandchildren. The memorial service will take place Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 1:00 PM at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove, OR. Berniece Spencer
SPENCER, Berniece - Age 82, of Reesdsport was born on December 10, 1917 in Camas Valley, OR to Otto and Mary Amstein. She died in Reedsport, OR on October 8, 2000. She had lived there for three years. Berniece graduated from Camas Valley High School in 1934. She married ALvin Spencer on April 3, 1937 in Vancouver, WA. Berniece worked in Portland Shipyards during WWII and was a secretary for th the Camas Valley School system from 1951-1971 when she retired. From 1974-1986 she was employed with the US Forest Service in Eugene. Bernice enjoyed her family, trips to Reno, and U of O football. At her request no services will be held. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Blue" Spencer, in 1984. She is survived by a sister, Bonnie Watkins of Phoenix, AZ, a son, Gerald Spencer of Springfield, OR, a daughter Bette Barcus of Reedsport, OR, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. John Olbekson
OLBEKSON, John - A memorial service will be held October 15, 2000 for John D. Olbekson of Coos Bay, who died October 7th, 2000 from complications following last years liver transplant. He was 48. John was born July 14, 1952 in Eugene, OR to Mert and Helen Olbekson. The family moved to Dallas, OR in 1960 and he graduated from Dallas High School in 1970. He married Jane Jennings in Mt. Angel, OR on September 27, 1975. They lived in Dallas and in Roseburg before moving to Coos Bay in 1983 where he was employed as the sales manger at Honda World for many years. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and he enriched the lives of all who knew him and will be dearly missed. He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor sports and activities and especially loved steelhead fishing and pheasant hunting. Survivors include his wife Jane, son Eric and daughter Sarah. Mother Helen of Salem, father Mert and wife Shirley of Tigard, brother Rick and wife Kathy of North Bend, brother Ron of Salem, sister Pat of Roseburg, sister Barbara and husband Bob of Salem, grandmother Florence of Salem, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his first born son, Adam. Sunday's memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Old City Hall Grand Ballroom in downtown Coos Bay. Lucy Forester Grotzke
GROTZKE, Lucy Forester - age 90, passed away October 5, 2000 at an adult foster care home in Philomath, Oregon. Born on Roseburg, Ore on November 13, 1909 to Jess and Etta (Humphrey) Phillips. She married Ercle J. Forester on June 12, 1925 in Yreka, Calif. They had their family and lived in Coos Bay and Lebanon, Ore for moat of their married life. They were married for 56 years. He died in 1981. She married Fred Grotzke in 1984 in Indio, Calif and moved to Winston, Ore. He died in 1993. She worked for many years at various occupations, including; owning a dairy farm, owning and operating a grocery store and restaurant, working as a retail clerk, employed at Evans Products and cooking in restaurants. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, oil painting, quilting, fishing and camping and visiting with family and friends. Lucy was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Winston, Ore where she was baptized on May 4, 1997. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-laws, Marvin and Loretta Forrester of Coos Bay, Ore and Ron and Elaine Forester of Philomath, daughters and sons-in-laws, Lily and Mickey Sawyer of Tousand Palms, Calif and Francis Forester of Thousand Palms, Calif, stepchildren Chuck and Brenda Grotzke of North Bend, Ore and Kay Sawin of Joseph, Ore, seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and several step grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, a grandson, David Forester, all he siblings (Bessie Thurber, Mary Elder, Dora Oklahoma Moore, Ernest Phillips and James Phillips), and one stepson, Jim Grotzke. Glenda Loye Curnow
CURNOW, Glenda Loye - 58, of Umpqua, OR passed away Sunday, October 15, 2000 in a Roseburg hospital following a gracious bout with cancer. She was born May 19, 1942 in Sacramento, CA to Loy and Jewell (Fletcher) Compton. Glenda grew up and attended school in the Sacramento area, graduating from San Juan High School in 1962. As an adult, she lived in San Rafel, CA several years before returning to Sacramento. In 1992, Glenda and Bill moved to Umpqua, OR. She dearly loved her home on the main Umpqua river. On September 6, 2000 her and Bill celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She was the beloved wife and best friend of C.W. "Bill" Curnow Jr.; the loving mother of Cheryl Lynn Smith-Burcham and Derek M. Smith; grandmother of Braxton Smith; also survived by two step-children, Kimber S. Blake and John W. Curnow; her loving sister and best buddy, Carla Jean Kline and her husband, Dennis; a niece, Shawna Hansen and her daughter, Kristie and her faithful companion, her Jack Russell terrier "Aimee". Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. in Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Officiating will be Father Robert Lonergan of the Church of The Ascension Episcopal in Riddle. Cremation rites will follow under the care of Chapel of the Roses Crematory. A viewing time is set for this evening (Tuesday) from 3 until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon at Chapel of the Roses. Bernice Margaret Fouts
FOUTS, Bernice Margaret - 90, of Roseburg, passed away Monday October 16, 2000 in a Roseburg hospital after a long and courageous battle. She was born August 27, 1910 in New Concord, Ohio to John and Olive (Maharry) Newell. On January 6, 1932 in St. Mary's West Virginia she married Herbert Wayne Fouts. They lived in various parts of Ohio while raising their family. In 1964 the family moved to Winston, Oregon and then to Roseburg. Herbert preceded her in death in July 1976. In years past, when she was able she enjoyed crocheting, and quilting. She loved to can fruits and vegetables and give to her family. Above all, Bernice loved being with her family. She is survived by her children: Dean Fouts of Ayden, North Carolina, Annabelle Egesdahl of Coos Bay, James Fouts of Roseburg, Jean Jarvis of Roseburg, John Fouts of Winston, and Ellen Fouts of Roseburg; a sister Elisabeth Cooper of Kimbolton, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a son Glen Wayne Fouts, a daughter Kathleen Irene Fouts and a granddaughter Heather Dawn Jarvis, a sister Alma and brothers Harry, Walter, Wilmer, and Charles Newell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Officiating will be Dale Townsend. Interment will follow in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Ernest L. Higginbotham
HIGGINBOTHAM, Ernest L. - Age 89, of Grants Pass died, Saturday, October 14, 2000 at his residence. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from Noon until 1:00 P.M. at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. (Wednesday) at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens, with Chaplain Doug Schmidt with Asante Three Rivers Hospice officiating. He was born February 6, 1911 in Elkton, Oregon. His parents were early settlers in Elkton, OR. On August 4, 1931 he married Catherine Kent in Coquille, Oregon. They lived in Roseburg, OR until they moved to Grants Pass in 1949. He owned a logging firm in Grants Pass until his retirement in 1969. They traveled in their motor home extensively in Canada, Mexico and U.S. They spent 13 years as park hosts for the U.S Forest Service in Siuslaw National Forest in the summer months. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and the Grants Pass Elks Lodge. He enjoyed playing bridge. They went to Yuma, Arizona in the winters. He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Cassie) Higginbotham of Grants Pass, and 2 sons, Fred Higginbotham of Grants Pass and Kent Higginbotham of Tigard, OR, a brother Freeman Higginbotham of Gresham, OR and a sister, Anne Johnson of Livermore, CA, and 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or a charity of the donor's choice. CHAPEL OF THE VALLEY FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.

Paul Gerhardt Isaac
ISAAC, Paul Gerhardt - Age, 79, of Winston, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2000 from a local hospital. He was born on December 8,1920 at Corning, California to David Gerhardt and Emma ( Krienke ) Isaac. Paul joined the Army Air Corps and served in WW II. On May 26,1946 in Davenport, Iowa he married Marian F. Dunlap. Paul worked as a truck driver in California for four years. He attended Perry Trade School in Yakima, WA and then worked as a carpenter/builder in Davenport, Iowa for 16 years. In 1963 he went to Technical School in Rock Island, Illinois and then worked for Lockheed Aircraft for 8 years as a tool and die design. Paul's health failed and in 1971 he retired. In 1976 Paul and Marian moved to Winston where they have lived for the past 24 years. Paul joined the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in 1946 and was a Deacon for many years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian Isaac of Winston, a daughter, Paulann J. Dymond and her husband Jack of San Francisco, CA, a son Jere J. Isaac and his wife Pamela of Medford, OR, two grandchildren: Rebecca Isaac of Medford, OR and Benjamin Isaac of Ashland, OR, a great grand son, Brandon Isaac of Medford, OR, a brother, David Isaac of Eureka, CA. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Pastor Barry Taylor of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Larry Elmer Wolleat (Hauge)
WOLLEAT (HAUGE), Larry Elmer - Age 27, of Riddle, OR. He was born on December 15, 1972 passed away Sunday, October 15, 2000. His mother Jeanie Kuehn, stepfather Ronald Kuehn, sisters Kimmy Lou, and Mary Jane preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Andrea Wolleat, father Gerold Wolleat, brothers, Richard, Ricky, Mac, Gary, Jerry, Terry, and Berry Wolleat, sister Vickie Martin, second father and mother, Bill and Carol Ruppert and foster sister Renee Beebe and brother Jeffrey Beebe. Larry graduated from South Umpqua High School in 1992. He supported his family in mill work. He enjoyed wood making and making grandfather clocks. He loved people , especially children. He was very tender hearted. Larry (Hauge) was loved by his many friends and family members and will be missed greatly. Curtis Lee Newton
NEWTON, Curtis Lee - Age 25, of Roseburg passed away October 14, 2000. He was born March 8, 1975 in Roseburg, Oregon to Kenneth and Linda (Jannsen) Newton and had been a resident of Roseburg all his life. Curtis cared a lot about people and loved to have fun with them. He enjoyed his Mustang and liked watching football and hockey games. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Linda Newton; sisters, Chris Roman and her husband Octavil, Dawn Newton and Fawn Newton all of Roseburg, Oregon; nieces, Tiffany and Britny Easterly and Maria and Ondrea Roman; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Vern E. White
WHITE, Vern E. age 86, of Roseburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at a local care center. He was born February 15, 1914 in Enterprise, Oregon, son of Ed and Laura (Holmes) White. He was raised and educated in Enterprise. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth A. Forysthe in 1940 in Enterprise. He entered the U.S. Army during W.W. II and served our country in the European Theatre. He worked at the First National Bank in Enterprise before transferring to Union, Oregon where he was the bank manager for many years. They moved to Oakland, Oregon in 1965 where he managed the First National Bank, which later became the First Interstate Bank. He later retired from the Roseburg Branch in 1979. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Union, Oregon and the LaGrande Elk's Lodge. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Roseburg and a daughter, Sara J. White of Palo Alto, CA. Memorial Services were conducted at Taylor's Family Chapel on Thursday, October 19, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. Private inurnment will be at the Enterprise Cemetery in Enterprise, Oregon.

Lisbeth Ellerslie "Libby" Willbur
WILLBUR, Lisbeth Ellerslie (Libby) - Age 55, passed away at home in Myrtle Creek October 16, 2000. She was born November 30, 1944 in Fairfield, Iowa to Charles L. and Lisbeth (Diddell) Gilly. She grew up and attended schools in Ingham and Eaton counties, Michigan. In 1962 she married Kenneth Anderson in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, they later divorced in 1970 and Kenneth passed away in 1992. 1970 brought Libby, her four daughters, a sister and a niece to Oregon and she lived in Myrtle Creek ever since except for 3 years in Grants Pass. On July 4, 1981 she married Richard Willbur in Canyonville, Oregon. Libby was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Scott Anderson and a brother Charles Gilly Jr. Survivors include her husband Richard of Myrtle Creek, daughters Grace (Charles) Barling, Barbara (Earl) Karlinger, Theresa Anderson all of Myrtle Creek and Robin (Stanley) Johnson of Roseburg and a granddaughter Tanya Hatton of Myrtle Creek who was raised by Richard and Lisbeth since she was a baby; step-children Vicki Hesselgrave and mate Ken Werking of Roseburg, Tony (Tamra) Willbur of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Richard (Laurie) Willbur Jr. of New York and Tina (Tom) willbur of Phoenix, Ariz. She is also survived by a sister Mary Gilly of Winston, a brother James (Nancy) Gilly in the United States Navy of Connecticut. Grandchildren include Michael Anderson, Natasha Karlinger, Tanya and Amber Hatton, Samantha and Laura Barling all of Myrtle Creek, Richard and Kelly Fackrell of Oklahoma, Michael and Angela Hesselgrave of Eugene, Amanda Hessgrave of Roseburg, Robert, Ashley and Kimberly Willbur of New York, Thomas and Ariel White of Phoenix, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Viewing for for family and friends will be Thursday, October 19, 2000 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2000 at 4:00 P.M. at Myrtle Creek Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan Jacoy of Tri City Church of Christ officiating. Dale E. Judd
JUDD, Dale E. - Went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2000. He was born July 1, 1932 in Chandler, Arizona to Lafe and Hazel Judd. He grew up in Arizona and lived in a number of places before settling in Umpqua. He graduated from Roseburg High School in 1950. Dale worked for the railroad in the round house for a short time. He worked for Engles Construction & Mill for 33 years. He started out as a turn down man then on the logging crew eventually becoming the best grader operator around. He worked for the BLM on their road crew as a grader operator until his retirement in 1996. He married Millie Lowden on June 9, 1951. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1989. They had three boys: Randy, Mark and Ed; five grandchildren: Danyal, Darrell, Damon, Clayton Dale and Rebecca; and one special great-granddaughter, Carlede Marie. He was fortunate to find Diane Clark and they married on July 14, 1990 which added two children: Darrel and Lisa; five grandchildren, Joshua, Brittany, Chase, Kylie and Jonathan and one great-grandson: Joshua. He is survived by his wife, Diane, five children, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two brothers, Garth and Clayton, five sisters, Shirley, Lorena, Bernice, Margie and Brenda; and many nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his father, Lafe; his mother, Hazel; and a special brother-in-law, Arnold. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vine St. Baptist Church roof fund or Camp Scholarship Fund for kids. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vine St. Baptist Church, Mike Holleman and Rick Hahn officiating. Please bring your favorite memories of Dale to share.
