GERALD M. VALDIVIA
Gerald M. Valdivia, 55, of Butler, formerly of Moon Township, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999. Husband of Judy A. Fleske; father of Kimberly Smith, James and Michael Valdivia. Brother of Vivian Sacramone, Aida Fast, Abelardo Valdivia, and Joe Valdivia. Retired from National Broadcasting Co. (NBC) as a videotape editor. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with blessing services at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday. Graveside services at Sewickley Cemetery at 1 p.m. Thursday.

DR. OMAR B. AYOUB
Dr. Omar B. Ayoub, "The Hawks Doc, " 69, of Monroeville, formerly of Jeannette, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, in Irwin, at the home of his daughter, Samanatha. He was born July 24, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of Caroline Monsour Ayoub of Greensburg and the late Assad Ayoub. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Greensburg. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Mexico Medical School. He was a general practitioner for many years in the Jeannette area. He was the Jeannette School District sports doctor for many years and was known as "The Hawks Doc" by many of the Jayhawks football championship teams. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan P. Ayoub. In addition to his mother, he is survived by four daughters, Samanatha Ayoub of Irwin, Stephanie Robinson of Jeannette, Anne Forrest of Massachusetts and Amanda Ayoub of Oregon; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received at the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 429 Duquesne Ave., Trafford, Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Arch Priest John Nosal officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Family requests memorials to St. Michael's Orthodox Church Building Fund in Greensburg. Trisagion prayer service will be Thursday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

VERNON P. BOYER
Vernon P. Boyer, 70, of Bethel Park, on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999. Beloved brother of the late Larry "Gus" Boyer. Beloved uncle of Kim Schaff and Guy Boyer. He will also be missed by many friends and neighbors. He was a charter member of the Penguin Booster Club and a 35-year member of the Elks. Friends received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.

JACQUELENE E. LYONS CASSETORI
Jacquelene E. "Jackie" Lyons Cassetori, 39, of Franklin Park, entered the church triumphantly, Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Sept. 19, 1960, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., a daughter of James W. and Jane E. Lyons of Kingston, Pa. She was a graduate of Bishop Habon High School and the University of Scranton. She was the past director of Christian Education at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (Shape) Chapel, Mons Belgium, and most recently as the director of Christian education at Ingomar United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth and Levi Houser. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael H. Cassetori; two children, Danielle N. and Erin R. Cassetori, both at home; a sister, Jane R. Shaw of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, James W. Lyons of Nanticoke, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SIMONS FUNERAL HOME INC., 7720 Perry Highway. A memorial service will be held at Ingomar United Methodist Church, 1501 W. Ingomar Road, Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 241 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222-1744.

CATHERINE ROSE GOLIK KANONIK
Catherine Rose Golik Kanonik, 37, of New Bern, N.C., died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at Craven Regional Medical Center, New Bern. Mrs. Kanonik was a resident of Lincoln Place until she moved to New Bern, N.C., in July. She is survived by her husband, Robert Kanonik of New Bern, N.C.; a son, Christopher Kanonik, and daughter, Kymbly Kanonik, both at home; her father, Vincent Golik of McKeesport; grandmother, Gertrude Daugherty; a brother, Vincent Golik Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Valerie Jolly of Langhorne. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Elizabeth, with Father Timothy Evans as celebrant. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Arrangements by COTTEN FUNERAL HOME, New Bern, N.C.

MICHAEL KRCELIC
Michael "Mitch" Krcelic, 71, of Lake Haven, Ariz., formerly of Trafford, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, in Huntington Beach, Calif. He was a son of the late Martin and Barbara Krcelic. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; two daughters, Michele Banks of California and Marcia Ruiz of Salt Lake City, Utah; three sons, Michael of California, Marty of Utah and Matt of California; five grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Pelc of Irwin and Dolores Mendicino of North Huntingdon; and a brother, Edward Krcelic of Lawrenceville. Burial will take place in Huntington Beach, Calif.

LUCILLE P. FISHER BERGMAN
Lucille P. Fisher Bergman, 84, of Willow Street, Pa., formerly of Derry, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, in Willow Street. She was born June 26, 1915, in Derry, a daughter of the late Albert T. and Alice Finnegan Fisher. She was Catholic by faith. She had resided at the Willow Valley Retirement Center in Willow Street for the past five years. Her husband was the former owner-operator of Bergman's Dairy for many years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Bergman, on Aug. 7, 1990; two sisters, Marie Stemmler and Martina Feldbaum; and two brothers, Gerard "Jerry" Fisher and Joseph Fisher. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Mona Lou) McConnaughey of Kronberg, Germany; a son, Dr. Roy V. Bergman of Cochranville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Connor, Lauren, and Patrick Bergman, Brian McConnaughey, and Beth Ann Dahan; a great-granddaughter, Elsa Dahan; three sisters, Mrs. Omer (Rita) Johnston of Derry, Rosalia Potthoff of Connellsville and Mrs. Donald (Madelyn) Crissmen of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Derry, with Father Stephen C. West as celebrant. Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry. Wake service will be conducted Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

DONALD EARL MOORE
Donald Earl Moore, 72, of Somerset, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, in Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born July 6, 1927, in Scottdale, a son of the late Frank and Anna Stoner Moore. Donald attended The Rayman Church of the Brethren, Friedens. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a master tool and die maker for Anchor Hocking, Connellsville. He was a graduate of the former Scottdale High School, Class of 1945. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ferne R. Brown Moore; five brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his second wife, Doris Swearman Moore; two daughters, Linda Fox and husband, James, of Greensburg, and Vicki Ulery and husband, Don, of Scottdale; a stepson, James D. Smith and wife, Denise, of North Huntingdon; two stepdaughters, Cindy Fogle of Miami, Fla., and Carolyn Carbaugh and husband, Mike, of Hagerstown, Md.; three grandchildren, Jimmie Fox and wife, Lisa, of Irwin, Shawn Ulery and wife, Lora, of Scottdale, and Suzanna Ulery of Alexandria, Va.; and five step-grandchildren, Victor and Conrad Johnson, both of Miami, Fla., Carrie Smith of North Huntingdon, Grant and Garrett Carbaugh, both of Hagerstown, Md. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Memorial contributions may be made to The Rayman Church of the Brethren, c/o Maxine Barron, 1091 W. Main St., Somerset, PA 15501.

SUSAN ELIZABETH BARKEMEYER NASRI
Susan Elizabeth Barkemeyer Nasri, 39, of Statesville, N.C., died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was a native of McKeesport. Born July 28, 1960, a daughter of Linda Petterson Barkemeyer and the late Robert Barkemeyer. She was co-owner of Western Auto in Statesville and a member of Landmark Church of God. In 1980, she married Gus Nasri, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Amy and Leigh Ann Nasri, and a son, Michael Nasri, all at home; and a brother, Daniel Barkemeyer of Ligonier. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Landmark Church of God in North Carolina. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery, North Carolina.

PAUL SCHOPP SR.
Paul Schopp Sr., 84, of North Versailles, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999. He was a son of the late Peter and Mary (Federico) Schopp. Beloved husband of 54 years of Elaine (Marcuzzi) Schopp. Dear father of Geraldine "Gerry" (Michael) DeSavage and Paul (Terri) Schopp Jr. Grandfather of Michael Paul DeSavage, Christy A., Joseph Paul, Renee and Michelle L. Schopp. Brother of Elizabeth Connelly, Donald Schopp and the late Doris Jenets, Anna Mollier, Edith Todaro and Joseph Schopp. Numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 9 p.m. Mass in St. Robert Bellarmine Church Saturday, at a time to be announced.
