Agnes B. (Gaus) Knorr, 72, of Reserve Township, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Beloved wife of John G. Knorr Jr.; mother of John G. III of Harrisburg, Barbara Hawthorne of Shaler Township and Janet Armstrong of McCandless; sister of Elizabeth Knorr of Brookline; and two grandchildren. ANDREW DANE KRANIK, M.D.
Andrew Dane Kranik, M.D., 57, of Elizabeth Township, on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999. Son of Mary A. (Magera) Kranik of Elizabeth Township and the late Andrew Kranik. Brother of Jacqueline Kranik of Elizabeth Township and Deborah K. Smith of Belle Vernon. Also survived by two nephews, Ian Kranik Smith and Andrew Graham Smith. Dr. Kranik attended the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School), and the Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, between 1964-67, obtaining his B.S. Degree in Biology; Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C., from 1967-71, receiving his Doctor of Medicine Degree; and serving his internship in straight surgery from 1971-72 at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tenn. He completed his orthopedic residency at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C. He was a major in the U.S. Army from 1976-78, position Chief Department of Orthopedic Surgery, at Irwin Army Hospital-Meddac Fort Riley in Kansas. He was a member of the Allegheny County Medical Society, Pittsburgh; the Pennsylvania Medical Society, Harrisburg; the American Medical Association, Chicago, Ill.; the American College of Sports Medicine; the Fellowship and International College of Surgeons; and the Wilderness Medical Society. He was also a member of the Association of Military Surgeons, the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, the University Club, the Safari Club International, American Field Trial Association, the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, the Greek Catholic Union, a Brother of Sigma Psi (the St. Anthony Club), and the American Legion Post 0944. Visitation Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A Parastas service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. A burial service will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John Chrysostom Greek Catholic Church, Saline Street, Greenfield. Allen J. Tolmsoff, 62, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Silverton, Ore., on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999. A retiree of PPG Industries. Beloved husband of Mariann (Valenta) Tolmsoff; father of David and Timothy Tolmsoff, Christy Stanko, Sean and Kelly Dowd; brother of Anne Strubhar, Mary Johnston, Vera Moiseve, Pearl Sattler, Peter J. Tolmasoff, Sally Van Alstein and Stella Purcell; also survived by eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Rose Fronzaglio, 79, of Donora, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, in Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. She was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Calabria, Italy, the daughter of the late Frank and Filomena Prestia. Mrs. Fronzaglio was a retired production line employee of the Corning Glass Works. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Donora. Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Blaine Martin of Donora and Elaine and James White of Camp Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Barb Fronzaglio of Carroll Township; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Albert "Ziggy" Fronzaglio; two brothers, Vincent and Dominic Prestia; and a grandson, Christopher Charles. Friends will be received Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME, 40 Second St. Extension, Carroll Township/Donora. A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Philip Site of Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Donora, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David J. Kriss as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

RALPH E. BACHA
Ralph E. Bacha, 78, of White Oak, on Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999. Born Dec. 3, 1921, in McKeesport, a son of the late Andrew and Mary Matthew Bacha. He was a retired structural engineer for Bethlehem Steel, and a memorialist and owner of Bacha Memorials in White Oak. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Parish. Also, he was a member of the American Legion, White Oak Post 701; the Knights of Columbus, McKeesport Council #955; the Jednota; #2911 Versailles Club; and the Holy Trinity and Christy Park Seniors. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Anna T. Sorokach Bacha; and brothers, Andrew E. Bacha Jr. and Fred V. Bacha. Survived by his wife, Pauline M. Brodnansky Bacha; two sons, Ralph L. Bacha of New York and Raymond R. Bacha of Hutchinson, Pa.; and a stepson, Robert F. Durante of Trafford. Also surviving are his granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Mary A. Bunda of North Huntingdon; and nieces and nephews. Audrey Jean (Williams) Reid, 77, of Bellevue, formerly of Fair Oaks, on Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at UPMC-Passavant. Preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Reid; her father, Arthur Williams; her mother, Margaret Woods Stepp; and her stepfather, Jack Stepp. She is survived by loving children, Marilyn L. Dobias and her husband, Paul, of Ohio Township and John A. Reid and his wife, Marti, of McCandless; grandchildren, Paul George, Daniel Robert and Michelle Rae Dobias, all of Ohio Township, and Christian John and Amanda Elizabeth Reid of McCandless; a brother, Arthur Williams of New York; and a sister, Lucille Osbourne of Clairton. Mrs. Reid was retired from Rochester Hospital, where she had been a food service supervisor. JOHN C. STEWART
John C. Stewart, 81, of Avalon, on Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999. Beloved husband of 54 years to Dolores Walliser Stewart. Also, survived by loving children, Sharon K. Schurman of McCandless, Kenneth J. Stewart and his wife, Sallie, of Hudson, Ohio, and Janet E. Stewart of Avalon; grandsons, Jason B. Stewart, Matthew R. Stewart and J. Todd Schurman; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Allison Stewart; and his dog, Katie. Mr. Stewart was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, having held positions in both the Department of Public Welfare and the Liquor Control Board. Earlier in his life, he had been a professional photographer in the J&L Steel Research Lab. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He was a member and past master of Avalon Lodge #657 F&AM. Masonic services Tuesday at 7 p.m. He was a volunteer at the Bellevue site for Meals-on-Wheels and the Department of Aging. He had been a longtime member of the Mellwood United Presbyterian Church and more recently, the Greenstone United Methodist Church. Friends invited Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the ORION C.
