Jean L. Miller, 50, of Bullskin Township, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Jean was born in Connellsville, July 14, 1949. She was a homemaker, and a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School with the Class of 1969. Her hobby was reading novels. She was predeceased by her father, Melvin Miller Sr., in 1987; and a brother, Gary B. Miller in 1974. She is survived by her mother, Louise Rowe Miller of Acme; her three sons, Benjamin F. Miller and his wife, Melissa, of Mt. Pleasant, David L. Miller and his wife, Tricia, of Ruffsdale and Rex Lint and his wife, Dorothea, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Peggy D. Miller of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Christian Jacob Miller, Christopher Miller and Courtney Lint; two brothers, Melvin Miller Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and Kenneth Miller of Scottdale; five sisters, Cathy Wadsworth and husband, Jim, of Mt. Pleasant, Phyllis Swink and husband, Dick, of Acme, Lilly Miller of Acme, Carol Emminger and husband, Scott, of Youngwood and Marjorie Miller, serving with the U.S. Navy. Anthony J. "Turk" Crisanti Sr., 79, of Pittsburgh, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999. Son of the late James and Josephine (Scarpaci) Crisanti. Husband of the late Margaret (Duffy) Crisanti. Beloved father of Ethel Cluck, JoAnn McCoy, Margaret Kretzler, Alice Sacco, Dolores Lazzaro and Anthony Crisanti Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother of Vincent Crisanti and the late Mary Margene, Walter, John and Frank Crisanti; dear friend of Helen Whitman; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel at Twin Valley Memorial Park.

Howard C. Diable, 85, of Pitcairn, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. Husband of the late Alma K. (Smith) Diable; father of Gertrude Border of Pitcairn, Charles J. Diable of North Huntingdon, Alma Decker of Pitcairn and the late Constance Digelman. Also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. HAROLD WAYNE LEEPER SR.
Harold Wayne Leeper Sr., 80, of Rostraver Township, Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born in Rostraver Township, Dec. 25, 1919, a son of the late William Harvey and Laura Alice (Trickett) Leeper. Mr. Leeper farmed in Rostraver Township all his life. He was retired from the Gibson yards of Wheeling/Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Monessen. A lifelong member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, he served as an Elder and Sunday school superintendent of the church, and served on the Board of Rehoboth Cemetery. He was also a member of Rostraver Grange #919. He is survived by his wife, Alfaretta P. (Indof) Leeper; a son, Harold Wayne Leeper Jr. and his wife, Loraine, of Belle Vernon; three daughters, Nancy Sirofchuck and her husband, Jerry, of Greensburg, JoAnne Lynch and her husband, David, of Indiana, Pa., and Laurie Hough and her husband, Denton, of Acme; a brother, Warren S. Leeper and his wife, Idalee, of Rostraver Township; eight grandchildren, Diane Zacherl and her husband, John, Tim Sirofchuck and his wife, Nannette, Jenniffer Lynch, Melissa Lynch, Harold Wayne Leeper III, Andrea Leeper, Rebecca Hough and Joshua Hough; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Zacherl, Jensen Sirofchuck and Christopher John Zacherl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Leeper, in 1993. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township. Family and friends will gather for funeral services Friday at 10 a.m. in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, 442 Rehoboth Road. The Rev. Richard Klein will officiate. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery, Rostraver Township.

John R. "Nunny" Macara, of North Versailles, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, in McKeesport Hospital. He was born in Braddock, a son of the late John and Mary Getsy Macara. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh, and a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and a member of the East Pittsburgh VFW. He is survived by his wife, Millie Ragan Macara; a son, Wayne R. Macara of Penn Township; a brother, Bernard Macara of Florida; and a sister, Eleanor Neteny of North Huntingdon. Friends will be received at the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, at a time to be announced, in St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Interment will follow in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

Edna M. (Edwards) Shearer, 81, of Pitcairn, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999. Wife of the late George Shearer; mother of Robert G. Shearer of California and Dorothy G. Blauvelt of Washington; sister of Audrey Bilott of Larimer, Hulda Mihalchik and Betty Burgman, both of Pitcairn, and the late Edith Bilott. Also survived by four grandchildren. Bette Louise Adams, 82, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, in Huntsville, Ala. Mrs. Adams was a native of Jonesboro, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Adams. Survivors include a son, Jerry Wayne Adams of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Robert W. Adams II, Amanda Adams Skinner and Scott W. Adams; and four great-grandchildren, Robert, Landon, Emilee and David Jerry. SPRY FUNERAL HOME, Huntsville, Ala., in charge of local arrangements.
ERNEST DALE PEGG
Ernest Dale Pegg, 71, of Connellsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at his residence. He was born May 20, 1928, in Connellsville, a son of the late Charles Russell and Lillian Hensel Pegg. He was a 48-year member of the former Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 302 of Charleroi and currently a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 354 of Youngwood. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. He was a member of the Fairview Aide Society, the Polish Independent Club and American Legion Post 301 in Connellsville. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theatre. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dolly Nicholson Pegg; his son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Laurie Richter of Portland, Ore.; his son and daughter-in-law, William and Sandy Leighliter of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Dawson of Glen Burnie, Md., Pauline Eyerman of Los Banos, Calif., Dorothy Halfhill of Connellsville and Lillian Pegg of Milwaukee, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Harry Pegg; and a sister, Sara Haile. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Thursday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at noon in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Michael Sciberras as celebrant. A committal service and interment
will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. A parish wake service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted at the Cemetery by the Connellsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard.

June M. (Federkeil) Bobich, 77, of North Versailles Township, died peacefully at her residence Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. Daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (Finley) Federkeil. Wife of the late George Bobich. Beloved mother of Wayne (Paulette) Bobich, Gail Pristera, Frank (Anna Petrakis) Cortazzo III, Marie DiNardo and Gina "Jinna" (Larry) Leo. Dear grandmother of Jennifer and Frank A. (Christine) Cortazzo IV, Denise Juliano, Nicolas Leo, Lisa Molina, Lori Sachs, Richard and Leslie Pristera, Beth Ann Karkainen, Mark, Amber and Michael Bobich, Diana Roach, and the late Anthony Juliano. Also survived by those who were like children to her: Mary Pat Cortazzo, Bill and Kim Cortazzo, Patricia and Bob Donalies, Debbie and Ken Klingenberg, Jane Lee and Mel Boyd, and Randy and Judy Franz, and other beloved nieces and nephews; also five great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Leola Franz, Isabel Butler, Nadine Cortazzo and Virginia Starnes. Local 610 (Westinghouse Air Brake, Wilmerding) after 43 years of service.
REGIS M. MAHER
Regis M. Maher, 88, a prominent physician of Uniontown, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Uniontown. He was a graduate of St. Vincent College, Latrobe, in 1932, with a bachelor of science degree, and graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, D.C., in 1936. He practiced medicine in Uniontown until his retirement. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and received the Legion of Merit (U.S.A.) and the Legion of Honor (France). Survived by five children, Mary Ann Kocan of Uniontown, Regis C. Maher of Rustic, Va., Virginia Lee Rach of Uniontown, Martha Jayne Lion of Mt. Ephraim, N.J., and Barbara Lucille Newell of Vienna, Va.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Yaras of Leslie, Md. Friends will be received at the J.
