David J. Bromfield, on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000. Beloved husband of Carole Eyrich Bromfield; father of Gregory D. and Suzann M. Bromfield; and son of the late Peg McHale and Rendle Bromfield. DR. GILBERT D. McKLVEEN
Dr. Gilbert D. McKlveen, 88, of StoneRidge Village, Myerstown, formerly of Topton, died of natural causes Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at StoneRidge Village Health Care Center, Myerstown. Husband of the late Catharine Hess McKlveen, who died in 1975, and Lola A. Hartung Cartwright McKlveen, who died Sept. 17, 1999. He was born June 5, 1911, in Greensburg, the son of the late John H. and Della A. Dunlap McKlveen. He was a 1929 graduate of Greensburg High School, and a 1933 graduate of Juniata College, Huntington, with a major in English and social studies. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown. In 1936 he received his elementary teaching certificate, and his doctorate in education in 1953. He taught at various schools and universities from 1936 until his retirement in 1977. He was noted for public speaking--humorous, serious, and religious. Dr. McKlveen wrote a volume of poetry entitled, "Jingle Junk and the Good Stuff, " which is in its fifth printing. The work includes memories of his journey through life, of a humorous, moving and inspirational nature. He is survived by a daughter, Helen Jo and husband, Douglas Miller, of Landisville; a son, John L. McKlveen, of Fayetteville, N.C.; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Zion United Methodist Church, 22 E. Main Ave., Myerstown. Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church. MICHAEL MINJOCK
Michael Minjock, 82, of Forward Township, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Monongahela. He was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Forward Township, a son of the late Harry and Mary Struniak Minjock. He was a lifelong resident of Forward Township and a member of Transfiguration Church of Monongahela. He retired from Lee Norse Corp. in Charleroi with 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Florence Olli Minjock, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on May 5, 1999; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cindy Minjock of Forward Township and Gary Michael and Debra Minjock of Seven Hills, Ohio; six grandchildren, John Michael, Jaylynn, Ray, Robert Michael, Michael and Rachel Minjock; five great-grandchildren, Erica, Michael, Mark, Jamie and Jennifer Minjock; four brothers, John, George, Joe and Andy, all of Monongahela; and two sisters, Ann Dubovsky of Levittown, Pa., and Mary Valentino of Monongahela. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Minjock; and a sister, Helen Maxymczak. Friends received Sunday 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration Church. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.

Richard R. Moran Sr., 68, of Ross Township, on Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at the Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue. Beloved husband of Nancy L. Moran. Also survived by loving son, Richard R. Moran Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Ellwood City; sisters, Bernice Schardt of Canonsburg and Barbara Mahoney of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Shawn R. Moran, Jennifer Lynn Moran, Ryan R. Moran and Victoria Annette Moran; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Harley Moran; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances Benich Moran; sister, Carolyn Nyman; and brothers, Joseph and A.L. "Jack" Moran. Mr. Moran retired as a lieutenant from the Ross Township Police Department after 33 years of service. He then became a member of the staff of Pinkerton Funeral Home. He was a member of Perry-Ionic Lodge #796 F&AM, the Islam Grotto, where he had previously served as Monarch, the Syria Shrine and the Pittsburgh Consistory. John D. "Jack" Whiteman of Boca Raton, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000. A lifelong resident of Jeannette, he owned the Whiteman Candy Co. Educated at the University of Pittsburgh. A 32nd-degree Mason and Shriner. He leaves his much beloved wife, Laura; a sister, Frances Abramson; and various nieces and nephews. He was a World War II veteran. Services Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Temple Beth El, Boca Raton, Fla.
AUDREY JEAN ADAMS
Audrey Jean Adams, 76, of McCormick Avenue, Bentleyville, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born May 7, 1923, in Trauger, Westmoreland County, a daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Gregor Hails. She was a 1941 graduate of the Bentleyville High School, and attended Penn Commercial in Washington, Pa. Mrs. Adams had worked briefly as a secretary for Hazel Atlas Glass in Washington, and for 20 years as a food server at the Bentworth Elementary School. On Sept. 10, 1945, in Washington, she married William D. Adams Sr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William D. Adams Jr. of Delmont, Gary L. Adams of Vacaville, Calif., and Keith M. Adams of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Jack Hails of Bentleyville (Gibson) and Fred Hails of Charleroi; two sisters, Gladys Nairn of Ellsworth and Lorraine Paxton of Greensburg; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Lloyd Hails. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the THOMPSON-MARODI FUNERAL HOME INC., 809 Main St., Bentleyville, where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev.
