Edward L. "George" Clifford, 84, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000. He was born in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his son, Rob; a daughter, Edie O'Connell; four grandchildren; and a brother, Jerome. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; three brothers; and two sisters. Carolyn E. Houck, 56, of 9262 Bonaparte Drive, S.W., Calabash, N.C., formerly of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington, N.C. Mrs. Houck is survived by her husband, Thomas Houck of Calabash, N.C.; her father, Michael J. Porado of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Cindy L. Stauffer of Orlando, Fla., and Deanna C. D'Andrea of North Huntingdon; a brother, Michael J. Porado of Murrysville; two stepdaughters; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. H. RUSSELL LICKERT
H. Russell Lickert, 79, of Center Township, Butler, formerly of West View, died Monday morning, Jan. 10, 2000, at St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars, after an illness. Born in Bellevue, March 10, 1920, he was the son of the late Oscar and Esther Russell Lickert. He was a retired civil engineer for American Bridge. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of North Hills, and the Red Sox, Tempos and Ramblin Square dance clubs. He was an information clerk at Seven Springs Resort for 15 years. He was a volunteer usher of the Benedum and Byham Theaters in Pittsburgh. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Vivian Frederick Lickert, whom he married Sept. 5, 1947; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Susan) Munsch of Penn Run, Pa.; a son, R. Fred Lickert of Gibsonia; four grandchildren, Kisa Lickert, Mandy Cousins, Paul and Shena Munsch; and a great-granddaughter, Elissa Cousins. Edmund C. Lieberum, 81, of Rockwood, formerly of McKeesport, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1918, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Earl and Jesse (Simmons) Lieberum. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; and daughter, Rosemary. Surviving are his wife, Bertie Will Edd Lieberum; and these children: Karen Coulter Wood of McKeesport, Joani Ashton of Boston, Pa., Richard of McKeesport and Carla Anderchak of Kissimmee, Fla. Also stepchildren, Joyce Hutchinson of Uniontown and Fred Will of Tiltonsville, Ohio; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Brother of Arthur of McKeesport, Harold of Green Oak and Earl of West Mifflin. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church, New Centerville, and the 11th Ward Club in McKeesport. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse Corp. Robert M. "Mike" Loughran, 78, of Beacon Manor, Indiana, Pa., formerly of New Florence, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Indiana Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1921, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Michael F. and Josephine (Maguire) Loughran. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Mildred Bennett; brother, George M. Loughran; and a sister, Clara Fishburn. Survived by these children, Michael B. of York; David R., married to Christine Poerio, of Greensburg; Sally Jo, wife of George Kondor; and Timothy P., married to Carol Wagner, both of New Florence; Brian T., married to Teresa Long, of Arlington, Va.; and grandchildren, Kolt and Blake Loughran, Melanie and Benjamin Kondor, and Jennifer and Dennis Fisher. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Army Air Force in Europe. He flew numerous bombing missions over Germany. Former employee of Borden Foods, H.E. Wagner Motors, and Duquesne Slag; and past president of Beacon Manor Resident Association. Friends received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the KENNETH A. Marylu P. McGrew, 74, of Bethel Park, on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000. Beloved mother of Thomas R. McGrew of Carlsbad, Calif., Dan A. McGrew of Bethel Park, Sandra L. McGrew of Encinitas, Calif., and Jack McGrew Jr. of Alta Loma, Calif. Grandmother of Heather, Holly, Jack, Roman, Dax, Beck, John and Linda. Great-grandmother of Avery, Jake, Nick and Robert. Sister of Patricia Niemeyer of Mars and the late J.R. Pursell III. Mrs. McGrew was a member of the Bethel Park Registered Nurse Association, the Republican Committee of Bethel Park and Daughters of the American Revolution. Elizabeth A. Oliver, 84, of Jefferson Manor, Brookville, Pa., formerly of Sykesville, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000. She was born June 12, 1915, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Ira W. and Matilda Graham Oliver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Oliver, in 1996; and two sisters, Marjorie Eberly and Nelda Eaton. Survived by a son, Kenneth Francis of Philipsburg; and a sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Oliver of Southwest. Friends will be received at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m., at which time the funeral service will be held with Pastor Russell Dunaway officiating. Joseph R. Panone, 87, of Dunbar, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at home. He was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Dunbar, a son of the late Frank and Mary Ann Panone. He was a retired inspector for PennDOT. He was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Also, he was a member of Sons of Italy, Dunbar. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceded in death by his wife, Anastasia Younkin Panone, on June 14, 1996; brothers, Edward, Raymond and Anthony Panone; and sisters, Mary Panone, Rose Angelo and Elma Marzano. Survived by nephews, Gary Owens and wife, Beverly, his primary caregivers, Thomas and Dennis Marzano; nieces, Paula Nicolette and Shirley Johnson; great-nieces, Linda Thomas, who was thought of as a daughter, Shelley Keffer, Janina Hall and Stacey Lynn Plewa; and great-nephews, Scott and Brian Owens, Dennis and Joseph Marzano, Scott and Thomas Marzano, and Tim Duke; and 11 great-grandnieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, today from 7 until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be said in the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Ranch Road, Dunbar, with the Rev. Father J. Edward McCullough as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited in the funeral home Thursday at 4 p.m.

Rebecca C. Warhold, 77, of McKeesport, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in UPMC McKeesport. She was born May 8, 1922, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Robert and Marcella Beatty Eicher. She was a retired manager for Scozio's Bakery in White Oak. Also, she was a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Preceded in death by her husband, John Warhold. Survived by a son, John A. Warhold of North Huntingdon; and a daughter, Barbara Warhold of McKeesport. Also surviving are six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Sinclair of White Oak; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 2703 O'Neil Blvd., McKeesport. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, McKeesport, with the Rev. Phil Ashey officiating.
