Elizabeth Wasil, 94, of LaBelle, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Brownsville General Hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1905, in Baggaley, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Mary Smith. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. James Roman Catholic Church and LaBelle Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael E. Wasil, who passed away on April 12, 1988; two daughters, Marlene Hustey, who passed away on Feb. 28, 1978, and Patricia Petriello, who passed away on June 22, 1999; a grandson, Michael Scott Young, who passed away on Oct. 7, 1969; a brother, John Smith; and two sisters, Rose Fedor and Mary Voke. She is survived by four children, Lucille Wasil of LaBelle, Elaine Milich of Centerville, Pa., Darlene Young of San Jose, Calif., and James S. Wasil of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; six grandchildren, Karen Haiden of Rices Landing, Pa., Cheryl Frey of Uniontown, Lisa Petriello of El Paso, Texas, Roberta Bosak of Montclair, Va., Christopher Wasil of Canal Point, Fla., and Bradley Wasil of Orlando, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. James R.C. Church, LaBelle, with the Rev. Father James Petrovsky as celebrant. Interment LaFayette Memorial Park. Wake service will be held Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Virginia V. Wright, quietly on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000. Beloved wife of the late Commodore D. Wright Sr. Daughter of the late Clem and Susan Geary. Beloved mother of Commodore D. Wright Jr. and Robert W. Wright Sr., both of Pittsburgh, and the late Aurelia Matthews. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Pauline R. Beranek, 79, formerly of Southwest, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Hoffer's Personal Care Home, Saltlick Township. She was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Elizabeth Sojka Smihula. She was a member of Visitation Roman Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, Visitation Christian Mothers and Hecla Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Junior" Beranek Jr., in 1998; four brothers, Paul Jr., Joseph "Bob, " George, and Stephen Smihula; and three sisters, Eleanor Gula, Mary Sofranko and Elizabeth Kaputa. She is survived by a son, James Beranek III and wife, Pamela; a daughter, Mary Yezek and husband, David; and four grandchildren, David and Kristopher Yezek, and Kira and Craig Beranek, all of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Visitation R.C. Church with the Rev. Anthony Ditto as celebrant. Interment will follow in Visitation Cemetery. The Rosary Altar Society will join with the Christian Mothers of the Visitation R.C. Church to recite the rosary in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Edna Marian Riggs, 80, of Brandon, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a clerk by Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She moved to the Tampa, Fla., area from Greensburg in June 1999. She was Protestant by faith. She is survived by two sons, James Riggs of Brandon, Fla., and Clifford Riggs of Mt. Foerster and Miriam F. Clarke; devoted uncle of 18 nieces and nephews; and loving father to Georgeann's five children and eight grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Mackey and husband, Robert Mackey Jr.; three grandchildren, Robin Schnupp and husband, David, Robert J. Mackey III and wife, Rita, and Elizabeth Brooks and fiance, Andrew Onoffrey; also five great-grandchildren, Katherine Schnupp, Rachel Mackey, Cheyne Brooks, Jennifer Brooks, and Aleigha Onoffrey; and several nieces and nephews. Madeleine Alice Dando Eichleay, 87, a resident of Pittsburgh and Rector, Pa., peacefully, after a long illness, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000. The third of five daughters of the late George W. and Elizabeth McKallip Dando of Beaver, Pa. Beloved wife of the late John W. Eichleay. Loving mother of John W. and George F. JOSEPH A. ORLANDO
Joseph A. Orlando, 66, of Vanderbilt, died suddenly Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at his home. He was born May 21, 1933, in Vanderbilt, a son of the late Joseph and Nellie Cavalcante Orlando. He was a lifelong resident of Vanderbilt and was a graduate of the former Dunbar Township High School with the Class of 1951. He also attended St. Vincent's College in Latrobe and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as an account manager for Acosta Inc. of Carnegie. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Dawson. Joseph formerly served on the Vanderbilt Borough Council and was a past president; and he was also a member of the DL&V Volunteer Fire Department. He was active in the Republican Party in Fayette County and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rae Stickle Orlando; and his children, Joni Rennie and her husband, William, of Connellsville, Dina Puskar and her husband, Jay, of Dawson, Mark Orlando of Vanderbilt and Alan Orlando and his wife, Tracy, of Mt. Pleasant; and three grandchildren, Kara Rennie, Jaylyn and Austin Puskar. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing service will be held Monday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Evelyn L. Hector Osselburn, 91, a resident of St. Anne's Home, Greensburg, formerly of Irwin, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Nov. 11, 1908, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late George and Helen Peterson Hector. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Osselburn; a great-grandson; a sister, Helen Swarm; and a brother, George Hector. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Jenkins of Greensburg; two stepdaughters, Joyce McNeel and Katherine Meyers, both of Somerset; three grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev.
