Paul B. Zeak, 84, of Avalon, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha J. (Derbis) Zeak, he is survived by loving children, Paul W. Zeak and his wife, Mary, of McCandless, Patricia A. Flemming and her husband, William, of Bellevue and Kathleen J. Zeak of Ross Township; grandchildren, Christine Kaminski of Shaler, Kirsten Fox and Paul R. Zeak, both of McCandless; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Allison Fox; brother, Donald Zeak of Gibsonia; and sisters, Betty Tomasino of Falls Church, Va., Rosalyn Hassinger of Chicago, Ill., June Hawk of Lone Pine, Pa., and Marge Leban of Dormont. Also preceded in death by brother, Clyde E. Zeak; and sisters, Dorothy M. Zeak and Marian V. Heckler. Dahlstrom III of Trafford; son of Vera (Leidy) Dahlstrom of North Huntingdon, formerly of Pitcairn, and the late William G. Dahlstrom; brother of John C. Dahlstrom of Ohio, Richard M. Dahlstrom of Monroeville and Ethel L. Rosenburg of North Huntingdon; and grandfather of Jamie, Abigail and Bradley. Frank A. Lupinacci, 74, of Pittsburgh, on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lupinacci was the staff representative for Communication Workers of America. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, and the COPE Director for the Allegheny Labor Council. Father of Frank C. of Mt. Lebanon, Gail Brannon and Joyce Lupinacci, both of Sarasota, Fla.; brother of James Lupinacci of Pittsburgh, Joseph Lupinacci and Dolly Wesson, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandfather of Chrysta Mitchell, Frank R., Anthony and Mark Lupinacci; and great-grandfather of Chandler. GOLDIE R. WHEELER
Goldie R. Wheeler, 93, formerly of Beaver Dams, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at the Schuyler Hospital Nursing Facility, Montour Falls, N.Y. She was born Nov. 30, 1906, in Westmoreland County, a daughter of the late Harry and Lulu Tarr Elliott. She married Harry Hoke, who predeceased her in 1979, and later married Leslie Wheeler, who predeceased her in 1981. Goldie was employed as a packer at Corning Inc. for several years and was a homemaker. She attended the Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan Church in Beaver Dams. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Elisabeth "Belle") Isbell of Beaver Dams, N.Y.; sons, Harry P. (Sylvia) Hoke of Himrod, N.Y., John E. (Elaine) Hoke of Beaver Dams, E. Richard Hoke of Massena, N.Y., and Kenneth W. (Joyce) Hoke of Dundee, N.Y.; brothers, Edward Elliott of Hudson, Fla., and Frank David Elliott of Tucson, Ariz.; a close friend, Thelma Hoke of Painted Post, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Katherine Hoke Foley, two sisters, Isabelle Green and Dorothy Fahrenwalt, and two brothers, Elmer D. Elliott and Harry Elliott, predeceased her. FRANCES ZUPANCIC
Frances Zupancic, 88, of Library, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at her residence. Born July 5, 1911, in Arona, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Kontric) Royer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank "Goog" Zupancic Sr.; a brother, Frank Royer; and a sister, Carolyn Lorence. She is survived by two daughters, Delores J. Gogolin of Valencia and Marilyn F. Moore of Whitehall; two sons, Frank J. Zupancic Jr. of N. Linthicum, Md., and Jack L. Zupancic of Greene, Maine; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Mary Wojcikiewicz, Anna John, Josephine Cortese and Agnes Packe; and two brothers, Robert Royer and John Royer. Friends will be received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GRIFFITH MORTUARY INC., 5636 Brownsville Road, Broughton-Curry-South Park Township. BARBARA JEANNE BALD
Barbara Jeanne Bald, 79, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2000. She had been a resident of Jacksonville, Fla., since 1957. Barbara Jeanne was very active for many years in the League of Women Voters, the Audubon Society, and the Jacksonville University Campus Ministry. She was also a member of the board of the St. John's River Water Management District and participated in several studies of the Jacksonville Community Council Inc. She graduated from Cornell University and was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Survivors include three sons, William (Becky) Bald, David (Marilyn) Bald and Douglas (Kim) Bald; daughter, Sharon Bald Milne; brother, Richard O. Arther; and nine grandchildren, Brian Bald, Heather Bald, Stephanie Bald, David Bald, Rebecca Bald, Emily Bald, Matthew Bald, Caroline Milne and John Milne. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Florida Audubon Society.
DONALD R. DARBY
Donald R. Darby, 67, of Braddock Hills, on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000. Son of the late Agnes and Joseph Darby. Brother of the late Buzzy Darby and the late Dolly Bryan of Braddock Hills. Don was a devoted and loving father to his children, the late Thomas W. Darby, and Donald J. Darby and Diane Darby Fisher, who survive. He was the beloved grandfather of Thomas Darby Adrian and Joey Darby. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Navy. Don was retired from USX Edgar Thomson Works, Braddock, after 45 years of service. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by his family and close friends, most especially his brother-in-law Sam Bryan, Mark Skufca, and Renee Checchio. Friends will be received at the ROBERT P.
