FLORENCE MINJOCK
Florence Minjock, 76, of Forward Township, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in Haven Crest Nursing Home, Monongahela. She was born March 15, 1923, in Charleroi, a daughter of the late John and Olga Yeager Olli. Mrs. Minjock lived most of her life in Forward Township and was a member of Transfiguration Church of Monongahela and the Forward Township Senior Citizens. She was formerly employed at Corning Glass of Charleroi. Preceded in death, besides her parents, by her husband, Michael Minjock, who died Jan. 7, 2000. Surviving are two sons, John Minjock and wife, Cindy, of Monongahela and Gary Minjock and wife, Debra, of Seven Hills, Ohio; six grandchildren, John Michael, Jaylynn, Ray, Robbie, Michael, and Rachel Minjock; and five great-grandchildren, Erica, Michael, Mark, Jamie, and Jennifer Minjock. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 20, at 9:30 a.m. in the Transfiguration Church, Monongahela, with the Rev. William Feeney as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mon Valley Memorial Park.

VERONICA E. TERHORST
Veronica E. Terhorst, 82, of North Riverside, Ill., formerly of Whitehall, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000. Beloved wife of the late William J. Terhorst. Loving mother of William E. and wife, Frances Terhorst, of North Riverside, Ill. Grandmother of William C., Jennifer L. and Kimberly A. Terhorst. Sister of Sally Cushing, Genevieve Hughes and the late Arthur McNally. Friends will be received Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the JOHN L. QUINLAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 11th and Airbrake avenues, Turtle Creek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Colman Church, Turtle Creek.

MIKE HREBIK
Mike Hrebik, 83, of Clymer, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Indiana Hospital. A son of John and Mary (Mindek) Hrebik, he was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Baggaley. Mr. Hrebik was a member of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church in Clymer. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. He had worked as a hand loader in the coal mines. Mike was a member of the UMWA and the Clymer American Legion Post 222. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Sasway) Hrebik of Clymer; his son, Michael and wife, LeeAnne, of Blairsville; a grandson, Maxwell of Blairsville; a brother, Joseph and wife, Martha, of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a sister, Katherine Malinowski and husband, Jim, of Buffalo, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Nick and Steve; and sisters, Mary Cybak and Anna Sasala. Friends will be received at the HARRY J. BENCE FUNERAL HOME, in Clymer, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with Parastas at 7 p.m. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Ragan as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Indiana with military rites conducted graveside.

CHARLES GRAY WATSON, M.D.
Charles Gray Watson, M.D., surgeon and teacher, a professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and mentor to a generation of medical students and surgical trainees, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, of respiratory failure at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. He was 63. Educated at Princeton University and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, he received his surgical training at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. Subsequently, Dr. Watson returned to Pittsburgh and became one of the founding members of the full-time surgical faculty. He became a tenured professor and chief of the general surgical division and vice chairman for education in the University's surgery department. Dr. Watson achieved renown for his deep knowledge and skill as a surgeon. His gentle surgical technique was matched by his personal manner as a compassionate physician, professional colleague, and teacher of more than 30 classes of medical students and surgeons-in-training. Graduating medical school class and alumni together dedicated the 1999 graduation "to Dr. Charles Watson; in appreciation of your dedication to teaching both the science and art of medicine to generations of physicians." He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy; two sons, Gray and Andrew and their wives, Rosemary and Ritu; a brother, William Watson; a sister, Ann Kaiser; and a grandson, Timothy. There will be a memorial service at Heinz Chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, for Dr. Watson and his father, Dr. James Rose Watson, who predeceased him in October 1999. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Surgical Research Endowment Fund, Scaife Hall Department Office, University of Pittsburgh, Box 131, Pittsburgh, PA 15261. Arrangements by JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC., Oakland.

BETTY GROUT WILSON
Betty Grout Wilson, 52, of Robinson Township, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy Grout. She is survived by a son, David Wilson of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Rebecca Wilson of Bon Air and future son-in-law, Richard Meder, and Tracy Olivani and her husband, Brian, of Robinson Township; a sister, Carol Grout Sedora and her husband, Tom, of Canonsburg; a granddaughter, Reine Nicole Wilson; and dear friends, Bob and Donna Torrens. She was a devoted mother and most especially was an adoring grandmother. She loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She was loved by anyone who met her. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the ANTHONY J. SANVITO INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1650 Broadway (Stowe Township), McKees Rocks. Funeral service in the funeral home Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Burial in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

GEORGE ZIHOL
George Zihol, in his 85th year, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. Son of the late Michael and Catharine (Cseselka) Zsihaly. Brother of the late Mary (Craig) Zihal and Margaret Zihal. Also nephews and nieces. A loving and devoted husband and father who did his duty to his family without complaint. Husband of the late Anna (Sakas) Zihol. Father to Ronald G. Zihal and wife, Joann, Barbara Ann Milton and husband, Daniel V., and Carol Jean Stephenson and husband, Bryan. Grandfather to Daniel V. Milton, Carole Ann (Roberts) Milton, Sharon Lynn (Stupak) Milton and Mara Ashley Stephenson. Great-grandfather to Sierra Milton, Austin Milton, and Jacob Stupak. He was a retired employee of the former Mesta Machine Company (Whemco). Friends received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral prayer Friday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church at 10 a.m.

ALICE COLFLESH
Alice Colflesh, 71, of Hammondville, Bullskin Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Hammondville, a daughter of the late Braden and Hattie Danks Queer. Alice was a homemaker and a student of the former Mudd Schoolhouse. She is survived by her loving children, Walter H. "Chip" Colflesh Jr. of Hammondville, Raymond L. Colflesh and wife, Nora, of Youngstown, Pa., Robert E. Colflesh of Hammondville, Ronald "Jake" Colflesh and wife, Sue, of Sarver and Betty Jean Colflesh of Hammondville; four grandchildren, Raymond Jr., Annette, Tiffany and Brittanie Colflesh; and several nieces and nephews. Alice was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter H. Colflesh Sr., in 1991; six sisters, Dorothy Gach, Blanche Queer, Margaret Smith, Flora Jean Bungard, Edith Gray and Elizabeth Keller; and four brothers, Arthur, Clark, David and Lawrence Queer. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlick Cemetery.

THE REV. GILES (GEORGE) DZUBAN
The Rev. Giles (George) Dzuban, 84, formerly of Hecla, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, in Brighton, Mass. He was a graduate of Hurst High School, Class of 1935. He was a priest of the Discalced Carmelite Order. He worked in the mission fields, spending 14 years in the Philippines. When he returned to the States, he continued mission work as Mission Procurator for the Carmelites near Boston, Mass. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sisters; and five brothers, one of whom was the Rev. Stephen Dzuban. He is survived by two sisters, Sister Modesta of the Vincentian Sisters of Charity of Pittsburgh and Lib Hubert of Norvelt; also a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Burial will be at Holy Hill, Wis. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 5, at 5 p.m. at St. Florian Roman Catholic Church, United. Memorials may be made to the Carmelite Missions, 166 Foster St., Brighton, MA 02135.

VILMA PAPP EDWARDS
Vilma "Toots" Papp Edwards, 83, of Braddock, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. She was born Feb. 21, 1916, in Rankin, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Toth Papp. She was a retired employee of Acheson Manufacturing, Rankin, and a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Braddock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert R. "Duke" Edwards; a brother, John A. Papp; and two sisters, Elizabeth P. Baacke and Eleanor Burkovich. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

GERALD E. HARRIS
Gerald E. Harris, 77, of Plum, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in his home. He was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Renton, Plum. Mr. Harris was an Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a retired coal miner for the Pittsburgh Consolidated Coal Co. Mr. Harris was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Norma Keibler Harris; four sons, Edward R. Harris of Apollo, Ronald L. Harris of Washington Township, David A. Harris of Plum and James H. Harris of Ford City; a daughter, Cathy A. Cessna of Apollo; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and four sisters, Alva Troup of Washington Township, Dolores Lasch of Plum, Betty Fankhouser of Churchill and Lucy Harris of Plum. He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Mary M. Riebold Harris; and two brothers, J. Richard Harris and Norman T. Harris. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the MAURICE L. KNEE LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Road (across from S&T Bank) in Plum, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery in Plum.
